Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Entertaining"
Cons: "Crew"
Pros: "One of the few non-stop flights between Seattle and Philadelphia. Convenient times for my travel needs"
Cons: "There are 9 boarding groups some of which have no one in them. I don't understand why. Seats don't have screens for entertainment so you have to use your own device to. Make sure you have extra batteries since there is no power to charge on board."
Pros: "I had nice leg room as I was in the exit row"
Cons: "There weren’t any USB chargers which was confusing because the flight was 5+ hours long. There were no media options either, or blankets and the plane got cold."
Pros: "The flight crew was nice. They kept us well hydrated."
Cons: "I expected more from the in-flight entertainment on a 6 hour flight. If I had known I would have brought my own tablet and watched the free in-flight movies that were offered via free Wi-Fi."
Cons: "Flight left early on top of us arriving in Philadelphia late. Hadw the staff been more helpful we would've made the connecting flight. This occurred to multiple people on our flight from Rome."
Pros: "seating assignment"
Cons: "wish the crews were more pleasant. some were pretty rude to some passengers"
Pros: "The aircratf and on time operation"
Cons: "Gate agents not following AA.com policies to charge extra fees"
Pros: "Was on time."
Cons: "Not eventful."
Pros: "There’s nothing better than a non-stop."
Cons: "Oy, they offered an $800 credit if I let them bump me. But they had no way to get me to my destination! I guess instead of asking for volunteers, they should have asked for people who really didn’t want to go. Then the flight attendant announced, “we’re really low on food”. Really? This is a SEVEN hour flight!"
Pros: "seemed more comfortable on this plane, still squishy."
Cons: "really.. a 6 hour flight with just a cookie.."
Pros: "Nothing!"
Cons: "it was not BA flight American Airlines. For a 6-hour cross-country flight, there was no entertainment of any kind. More than that, no blanket or a pillow was available which made the trip so much worse. Worst of all, the last 90 minutes of the flight all the toilets ran out of water so they can't even be flushed. First time I have ever come across such a problem. Absolutely terrible."
Pros: "Boarding and service was nice"
Cons: "We were delayed an hour because the plan was in the hanger! Why? We were all there, didn't American know the plane should be at he gate! No escplanation as to why the plane was not there other than it was in the hanger! Airlines need to let the customers be flexible especially when are!"
Pros: "Movies and plugs"
Cons: "This WAS the worst flight I have ever been on! First no pilot then no gas. Then turbulence the entire flight basically. AND THEN when we landed we couldn't even get off of the plain because there was no one to help us off??!!! Also they were out of food. It was just over all horrible."
Pros: "Free beverage"
Cons: "My bag was lost and it still hasn't showed up at the airport. Seems like I would get some kind of credit of some kind for this inconvenience."
Pros: "The pilot was charming, and really hugged Mt. Rainier on the way in - Made for an incredible view in the moonlight!"
Pros: "Had good bathroom access and place to stand in the back galley so you could exercise and stretch as this was a connecting flight and I had been in the air a long time."
Cons: "The older woman stewardess was rude. I tried to give her my papers and she ignored me. So I put them in the pocket and the man next to me saw what happened and she responded to him. Curt. The plane is old and no individual TV. The food choices were very limited. I felt like cattle rather than a relaxing flight. Flying use to be fun and exciting and part of a great trip. Now it is endured to get on a trip."
Pros: "I was upgraded to the comfort economy after waiting 10 hours at DFW for my flight."
Cons: "After being in DFW airport for 10hrs all I wanted to do was watch a movie on board and sleep. Go figure, my TV didn't work. I called the attendant and she said she would reset them. The "resetting process" took a while. She attempted, and the other stewardess did as well. They said that the TV issue that *some* of the people were experiencing wasn't able to be fixed by them and only by the company that provides it's service. So there wasn't anything that could be done. I know that at least the two guys that were traveling next to me had issues with the tv monitors as well. It was just driving it home that I will never fly on American Airlines again. I don't ask for much these days while flying, it's not like it's a luxury anymore. But the saddest part is that customer satisfaction is completely out of the question. Just pay the extra money and fly another airline. -Deidre Fugate"
Cons: "No in flight movie"
Pros: "I loved how sweet the crew was. I loved the movie selection."
Cons: "The seat was completely uncomfortable. My feet are swollen and my back hurts still."
Cons: "Delays"
Pros: "I did not like have to stay in a hotel room when I could be sleeping in my room I'm on medication I don't even have my medicine with me because American Airlines had engine trouble in Dallas we went back to the Terminal 3 times before they ever got it fixed slit throat me late getting into Seattle and I missed the flight to Yakima I don't feel that this was my fault I didn't nothing to delay the airplanes and I walked as fast as I could to the terminal on in Seattle so I didn't have such a pleasure to little trip but your airline get put me up in a hotel but it's still not does not change the fact I have my blood pressure medicine and about 10 other medications but my blood pressure is the biggest and I will think twice before I fly Alaska Airlines again"
Cons: "They cancelled the flight and put me to fly the next day"
Pros: "I had my first experience in the Admiral's Lounge at O'Hare and enjoyed it very much."
Cons: "My traveling companion's tray table was disgusting when she folded it down for beverage service. She asked for a wet towel and the flight attendant was snarky but went to get one without even looking or asking to see what the problem was. Her entertainment console wasn't working so they reset it but instead it reset mine (two seats over) they did this again and I let them know it was resetting mine. I was told that I was not in the seat they were resetting for ...I inquired if perhaps they should try to reset mine and see if it would, in fact, fix hers..it did. When she slipped off her shoes the carpet was soaking wet. This was a really crummy, crummy flight."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "See above comments"
Cons: "3 hrs on tarmac then weather canceled flight then hoax shutdown JFK"
Cons: "Charlotte to Seattle flight: The food served in first class smelled awful. Seated in premium seating just behind first class was unfortunate due to the atrocious odor that lasted for 3+hours. There was no option for food service for the rest of the plane. Which was unfortunate as I was very hungry. Due to inconsistent notification that the plane was delayed / on-time (kept switching the notification) we opted to not get dinner in the airport..... To which the plane was was an hour late yet we were told to check in every ten minutes to see if we were boarding. There were no blankets. The plane was incredibly cold. The suggestion I received from the flight staff was to turn off the vent above my head (which I had already done.) I had brought a jacket and was wearing pants. On a 5.5 hour flight, the crew served beverages 45 minutes into the flight (per usual) and handed out a pretzel pack. They didn't come back through with water or beverages again. On other airlines, they promote water at least once an hour to keep swelling and dehydration down. Since I am a pretty frequent flier, I bring my own water. Still, coffee would have been nice. Suggestions: increase beverage service to at least twice / 5.5 hour flight and provide blankets upon request. Food choices and entertainment would also be good. Don't cook stinky dinners in first class and allow it to pollute the rest of the plane."
Pros: "From Seattle to DFW, we had the best flight! Brand new plane with individual entertainment screens!"
Cons: "3rd flight with AA this year. Luggage damaged for second time."
Cons: "The crew was talking very loudly so I couldn't sleep. It's a red eye flight! People are trying to sleep!!"
Cons: "Broken seat and terrible gogo video experience with an attendant crew that was dysfunctional together for food/beverage service. I prefer to not fly AA."
Pros: "The young woman running the admirals club front desk was excellent Friday July 29"
Pros: "Crew was apologetic"
Cons: "No automated safety briefing after 2 hour delay at gate due to congestion at seatac."
Pros: "The standard seating had good leg room."
Cons: "The seat didn't have enough padding for a 5 hour flight, I don't think I'll take another long flight on an A320."
Pros: "Pilot on return flight got us to our destination 30 minutes early (unfortunately there wasn't a gate for us to pull into so we waited 30 minutes on the Tarmac)."
Cons: "Departing flight was delayed over eleven hours because a flight attendant was ill. They actually had to fly in a flight attendant all the way from Texas to cover this Seattle to JFK flight! So our flight departed a whole day later and we missed a day of our vacation (we arrived at 7pm instead of 7am). I understand things happen but this was not weather related or a mechanical issue. This is simply poor personnel management. They should have a back-up plan if an employee falls ill. One that doesn't involve flying in an employee from another region of the country, let alone another state. The inefficiency continued on the return flight when it took a whole hour for the luggage to come out! Will avoid flying American again at any cost."
Pros: "Nothing...I had to be rerouted to Chicago to Seattle!"
Cons: "The fact that through no fault of my own, I arrived in Seattle much later than expected and my clients were not particularly happy with the delay."
Pros: "Nothing!!! WORST EXPERIENCE IVE HAD TRAVELING"
Cons: "This was the worst day we have ever had flying. Spent 12 plus hours at the airport! Got on and off planes for 6 hours because of mechanical problems. 7 hours later they canceled the flight due to crew fatigue. The customer service was horrible plane was dirty it was an horrific experience. Alaska booked us with American Airlines. I will never travel American ever again. I'm considering using a different booking site. The experience was the worst I've ever had. Kayak Alaska and American are getting bad marks from me!!!!"
Pros: "The plane was luxurious and comfortable, even in coach. Great flight."
Cons: "They must have switched my gate four or five times and delayed my flight a whole hour"
Cons: "Flight was about 20 mins late"
Cons: "Out of certain food items that should have been available"
Cons: "The flight was delayed over two hours!"
Pros: "Flight attendants were friendlier than on the earlier flight"
Cons: "That I had to pay so much for an upgraded seat which I needed due to recent shoulder surgery."
Cons: "There was no flight entertainment for a cross country flight! The only option was to stream via my personally device. This would have been fine if there were outlets to charge personal devices at each set!"
Pros: "Comfort"
Cons: "Food/drink"
Cons: "Very conjusted seats"
Pros: "Crew was nice"
Cons: "Our flight was delayed twice. We got to Seattle three hours later than we were supposed to."
Pros: "The cabin crew were friendly and efficient. Personal entertainment provided on every seat back."
Cons: "Boarding could be improved if airline would start boarding passengers seated in the rear of the plane first."
Pros: "Quick and easy commute from desert to PNW"
Cons: "My seat was right next to the toilet. On this red eye flight it was terrible trying to sleep but randomly having a bright light on my face because someone opened the bathroom door. This is terrible design."
