Read more about Delta
Pros: I loved all the updated COVID protocols and the commitment to a safe comfortable flight. The crew did everything possible to ensure the trace experience was as smooth as it possibly could have been and showed a great deal of patience with my family of five that moves kinda slow sometimes.
Cons: Biscoff cookies in every snack bag. Those cookies one of the most integral parts of flying delta for me
Cons: It was the most mediocre flight I've taken in a long time. And I still had to pay $100 for an exit row instead of a regular seat. Really? $100 for no recline, no underseat storage, and nothing more than cliff bars and goldfish crackers? Delta.... You can do way better
Pros: Crew was very welcoming and nice
Cons: There was a lot of empty space on the plane I wish they would’ve spaced passengers out evenly.
Pros: The entertainer system was down all of the flight, could not charge my phone. Crew was polite but Curt.
Cons: We ordered special meal, and it was even confirmed in the boarding pass but it was never delivered on board.... attendant said they did not get any special meal
Cons: Less legroom than other airlines but have never flown to South America before
Pros: The crew was pleasant and helpful.
Cons: The plane was an outdated jalopy. I thought the exit doors were going to fly off. This was in vast contrast to the 737 plane that we had taken earlier in the day for a flight from BNA to ATL.
Cons: Food offered in first
Pros: The crew was a replacement for the original crew that probably was running late (i suspect because everyone was stuck in wonderful LA traffic that night), they made do with what they have and tried to get everyone boarded as fast as they can.
Cons: On time departures, better boarding, crowded planes, better snacks, comfy seats, charging bagss???
Pros: you were on time !!
Cons: space between seats !!!
Cons: The coffee could’ve tasted better.
Cons: Couldn't have been better
Pros: Crew was awesome. Movie was awesome. Delta always comes through.
Pros: Seat was uncomfortable and hard as a rock, confined and tight.
Cons: a new plane with more space and bigger seats, better service at T4 at arrivals, that place is a zoo
Cons: Connecting flight to as delayed. And my dad was not able to get on the plane.
Cons: The airport.
Cons: The person next to me
Pros: Very smooth process.
Pros: I was very impressed with the flight attendants. They were very pleasant & very attentive to the guests. The premium seats were very comfortable. The only disappointment was the chicken dinner but the ice cream dessert & refreshments were wonderful.
Pros: Seatback tv.
Cons: Stewardess berated a man for leaving his backpack on the floor in front of him rather than politely addressing the issue. She told him you know better than that and don’t ever do that again. It was totally uncalled for.
Pros: Nice and helpful crew, fast service.
Cons: The food was not good, the breakfast was tiny. Who wants a sweet muffin for breakfast!?! It was a very shaky flight. We sat in the back rows which might have done things worse. Not comfortable at all.
Pros: Crew was pleasant. Boarding was fast and efficient, nobody bumrushed.
Cons: The non-reclining seat right next to the bathroom door opening should not exist. I was miserable there; I swear everyone on the plane made sure to take a dump on this <2 hour flight. Also none of the windows on any of these small planes line up with the actual positions of seats and it sucks.
Pros: Smooth flight, on-tome departure
Cons: Service in business class left a little more to be desired. I had to ask for food and drinks, because I feel off to sleep in the first round. Came to Gate early, but had to wait for agent to put the jet bridge. Only one person was available.
Pros: Flight itself uneventful
Pros: Flight was short
Cons: Was charged $60 for a bag that was supposed to be free
Pros: Everyone who has a kid knows how challenging certain things can be in a flight and for me the combination of a night flight interrupting my baby’sschedule + a full flight it equalized disaster. My daughter could not get comfortable for the love of life and I just felt horrible and frustrated and what sucked most was the 9 year old and her obese father siting in our row that kept giving us weird looks.
Cons: There’s NO room in planes between seats. It’s 2018 and new planes must be done ASAP to accommodate people better. I’m 5’1” and 110 lbs but adding my 25lb daughter siting in my lap before she turns 2 is absurd to expect that it will be comfortable whatsoever for us or the people breathing next to us. Please DELTA, lead by example and make sure your planes are designed with more room in between and around the seats. In my opinion, every seat should be first class.
Pros: They were comprehensive and tried to move fast
Cons: Delayed flight because they didn’t had the crew ready
Pros: I dont like that you change my flight and I have to wait 8 hours at the airport to flight to Mexico City
Cons: Crew was pretty short with everyone and not Delta’s best - not sure what the story was. Gate staff were allowing people to cut queue lines left and right - why even have the zones lined up if not going to enforce?
Pros: Boarding was quick and so was the flight. No entertainment or food on short flights, that should be a N/A
Pros: The Delta flight was such a pleasant contrast to the funky Interjet flight that I took from L.A. to Mexico that my Economy Class felt like First Class.
Pros: Movie selection was great!
Pros: The price.
Cons: Turbulence was intense and scary. We didn’t get our drink service because it was unsafe for the flight attendant to walk the isle. The leg room seemed a lot smaller than expected.
Pros: We landed
Cons: No drinks served , could not leave our seats , 2 hr flight turned into 3 hrs
Pros: The professionalism of Delta employees, timeliness of flt.
Cons: No entertainment. Wifi didn't work.
Pros: The gate person was very accommodating
Cons: It was over 2hrs late due to mechanical problems. Seems to be the norm.
Pros: Crew was all very nice
Cons: Flying is always uncomfortable
Pros: Flight is what we have come to think of as okay because nothing hurts
Pros: Good crew
Cons: No entertainment
Pros: Very nice employees. Coke, peanuts good.
Cons: Outgoing plane had tv screens, large, with good movie choices, but was an hour late. Returning, if you brought a phone, you can get an app. My phone is about four inches. No good movies. Seats even smaller on this "new plane." Deboarding chaos. Everyone unhappy. Hour late again.
Pros: The flight was bumpy because of storm but the pilots were expert at making the best of flying around it.
Pros: The crew was very competent and friendly.
Cons: Insufficient seating area, no meal offered.
Pros: Boarding, food, drinks
Cons: Seats (not much reclining, I felt them uncomfortable)
Cons: New design of the the plane with side to side bathrooms at the back leaves much to be desired. Those were the smallest airplane bathrooms I've ever used!! I had trouble fitting and I'm not a large person!
Pros: On time departure and slightly early arrival
Cons: Airline food is just so inadequate in every way.
Cons: in Amsterdam any DELTA crew helm us, only KLM
Pros: Delta is cheap, probably for a reason. Also had no food available on a 3 hour flight.
Cons: Delta lost our bags immediately. We were two hours early and had more than an hour between our connecting flights. Our connecting flights were literally next door to each other. However, our bag didn't make it to the connecting flight. No excuse, no explanation. We were on a 3 night vacation, and we didn't get our bags for more than 30 hours.
Cons: The boarding process was a disaster. Already delayed two hours due to weather, the gate agents didn't seem to have a process to scan boarding passes and passports efficiently.
Pros: Boarding was organized
Cons: They didn’t turn on AC until we landed in Lima, during bording they were hurrying people to get on their seats fast
Pros: Vuelo tranquilo y todo a su hora
Pros: The food, it was like have McDonald's right away. And the crew, and the seat
Cons: The plane have for charges.
Pros: The crew was kind and helpful.
Cons: The food.
Pros: My own tv screen , quality of food, service from the crew, beverage selection and cabin comfort
Cons: Keep it up
Cons: Copa did not allow me to board plane with setvice animal. Stating paperwork is not acceptable for travel to Peru. I bought tickets on avianca and traveled to Peru and had no issues entering Peru with paperwork. Also copa lost luggage for 3 days spent 3500 on copa and received nothing in return
Pros: Nothing, rude and not caring for their customers. My flight from dtw to Chicago was canceled and I was never informed. I lost 1 day of my trip and a wedding. Worst airline.
Cons: Notify flight cancellation, rebook the flight with another airline, and offer a compensation since we missed a wedding and that was the whole reason why we were going to Ecuador. Worst costumer service ever.
Pros: what a difference from the flight crew. Much more attentive and responsive to our flight requests.
Cons: This flight was better. Short flight and very attentive crew. I figure the seat selection on mobile app would be my choice next time.
Cons: The entreinment no tv in a 7 hours flight
Cons: everything that other excellent companies offer
Pros: Good experience in general
Cons: Lousy plane, very dirty
Pros: Same as previous flight; cabin crew was great
Cons: Dirty bathrooms, limited entertainment options
Cons: New aircraft, the chairs are broken and old
Pros: On time departure, great food and service was friendly.
Cons: My own phone didn’t work for the entertainment system.
Pros: Me gustó q acompañaran el almuerzo con una ensalada
Cons: No había tv individual, staff no muy amable
Pros: My impression is the same as the flight from New York to Panama, It was Great
Pros: Excellent service, on time!!!
Pros: The flights times were split into easy to ride segments.
Pros: Everyone was very polite, I didn’t use the entertainment
Cons: The entertainment was too expensive
Pros: Excellent fight and personnel
Cons: My name is Maria Trujillo
Pros: Crew service and boarding
Cons: Seats not being able to recline in row 10
Pros: Everything was excellent! Did not eat the food.
Pros: Staff was very friendly and easy to speak with even though I only speak English.
Pros: All service is good
Cons: I don’t have problem
Pros: Great price
Pros: fast boarding nice and helpful crew
Cons: Toooo uncomfortable. This is not a short trip its a 4hour trip and the plane is an embrager way too small for a ticket so high pice.
Pros: The boarding in the crew or fine
Cons: The entertainment was almost 0, the chicken sandwich was horrible.
Pros: Flight on time and crew was nice
Cons: Food was terrible and the entertainment system was poor
Pros: Food during the flight. Very helpful staff.
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. It seems like everyone spoke English and Spanish. Free drinks. A fine flight.
Cons: Not a thing.
Cons: Good service
Pros: Service and comfort was great, on boarding was pretty fast too
Pros: Good customer service
Cons: Rompieron una maleta y la otra sacaron cosas encima me hicieron esperar en Panama 10 Horas, teniendo asientos disponibles , es la primera vez q tomo esa aerolínea y que decepciónada estoy
Cons: King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is an awful movie, but that’s not your fault, I blame the cast & Directer. ;)
Pros: The crew, very nice people and courteous, they all welcomed us into the plane and assisted everyone in a really nice way, really liked them
Cons: The food, the entertainment has very few options
Cons: Bad service. Flights are overloaded, the crew of the plane had bad attitude not good customer service.
Pros: Good service and attention
Pros: Didn’t have to wait much for the connecting flight and Peruvian Crew was way more hospitable than the previous Panamanian Crew. But, still I would encourage you learn some Spanish.
Cons: Food not quite as I expected and planes were quite small on both flights making the whole trip uncomfortable.
Pros: Friendlier and more attentive inflight crew.
Cons: Seats and aisles were too small. The plane in general was to small and uncomfortable.
Cons: How crowded I felt. Both flights I had an aisle seat but it felt like a middle seat. The people in the middle didn't give me much personal space.
Pros: Comfortable leg room Friendly cabin crew
Cons: Very limited food options, International flights have poor entertainment options, Very old seats and covers gave a very dull impression
Pros: See first review
Cons: See first review
Cons: Transfer time un Panamá was Too short
Pros: A very good flight except for the meal. The seats were comfortable and the crew friendly. The connecting time in Panama City was spot-on and worked like clock-work. We deboarded and walked down a couple of gates and were boarding our flight to Lima in 15 minutes. I would recommend Copa at anytime. Our price was incredible and we got SO much more than we paid for which is unusual today.
Cons: I was spoiled on an earlier leg of our flight with the selection of entertainment. On this flight there was only one in-flight selection played on the various monitors.
Pros: Nice crew.
Cons: Terrible movie choice. Old equipment. Flight was freezing cold and no blankets provided. Uncomfortable seats.
Cons: The crew at the gate was extremely rude, didn't even called the flight other than once announcing we were gonna start boarding. Then I have 2 infants and when I asked about priority seating, you would have thought I asked her for a free flight because I got such a nasty response, not only me but she yelled at a guy in a wheelchair! Because he wanted to go in front of others to get himself settled (he had all the right in the world to do so) I honestly wanted to say a few kind words to this girl but I didn't.
Pros: The seats were comfortable
Cons: Everything was fine
Cons: Flight was totally full... At least everyone had a mask on American does not space seats like Delta does I will be taking Delta whenever possible
Pros: Crew was great. Plane felt good and clean.
Cons: My flight from Gainesville to Charlotte, we had to deplane down plane steps. I was told we would have jetway every flight. I have had hip replacement and steep steps very uncomfortable. Unable to deplane down them with both purse and small carryon. Someone always has to help me carry my carryon plus theirs as there is no provision for help from the airline. American seems to be only airline to do this, I will have to reconsider flying with you in the future.
Cons: Leg room was too small, food was awful, no taste. Bathroom smelled even from take off.
Pros: Flight attendants were amazing. Definitely some of the best I've ever encountered.
Cons: Crew at the desk were rude. They also enacted policies that I'd never seen before about gate checking, and implied I was crazy when I noted how unusual it was. I literally came off a previous AA flight with the previous policy and they said I was confusing them with AE.
Pros: Smooth ride
Cons: A small meal would have been appreciated for first class cabin. Al that was offered was a cookie.
Pros: Accommodation to any concerns
Cons: The flight attendant didn’t allow me to put my only one personal item I had (with no carry on) to the locker! He allows people from other seats to put their laguagges into my compartment!
Cons: They lost my luggage and barely made it to connection flight with nobody to help find gate
Cons: Our flight was overbooked and we were moved to a later flight causing a 7 hour layover and arrived at 2am the following morning.
Cons: Lines are very long and the check-in staff are not good at their jobs. For example, I arrived 2 hours early and they ended up letting half the line cut in front, which made me barely make my flight.
Pros: The cost.
Cons: I could not even get the flight rebooked I never got on the plane Los Angeles and they acted like I was there and all was well. I never checked in.. emergency led to a reschedule but contact was never accommodated.
Cons: The Avianca flight was over 4 hours late leaving Trujillo and blamed it on weather. Why don't they rearrange and prepare for this if the airport often gets fogged in during this time of the year? Instead they and other airlines leave dozens of travelers stranded. We lost our connecting flight to Iquitos, and after Avianca refused to reimburse us or put us on a different flight we had to purchase another flight with Viva Air with our own money. No accountability or respect for the consumer.
Cons: The airport Jorge Chavez in Lima sucks. Don't spend anymore time than you have to there unless you are prepared to spend a ton on food and water. $9 for a large bottle of water!!
Pros: Everything was perfect
Cons: Everything was good to be honest
Cons: Flight was scary as hell. Lights flickering, bells constantly dinging, compartments continually popping open, and exit light flashing.
Pros: The mobile updates were helpful and timely.
Cons: The overhead space was smaller on this plane and as I learned on my trip to DTW my weekender carry-on would not fit with my shoes in it. Because of this, I pulled my shoes out and put them in a collapsible bag that fit under the seat in front of me along with my small personal bag as I had done on my previous flight. However, the gate agent would not allow me to board the plane and would not listen to my explainations at all as I tried to keep the boarding process moving along. She kept repeating "you have 3 bags" and made me steep out of line and check my carry-on (which I would then have to pick up at baggage claim). When I asked why I couldn't get out on the jetway like she had done for other passengers she said, " I only did that for airline employees" (quick happened to be a flight attendant from Spirit). My overall experience on both flights to and from Detroit was that the gate agents and flight attendants were the most unhelpful and rude airline employees I have delt with and I will stick to my preferred carrier, Delta, for my future flights back and forth to Detroit. They certainly make me feel like a valued customer when I fly them, which I did not feel with American.
Pros: Customer service good. Offered food/service quickly.
Cons: Film selection was subpar, and had no subtitles available. Flight safety information video so unbelievably boring. Flight crew repeated all instructions at least 3 times including video interruptions. What is the point of having in flight entertainment if crew will interrupt said entertainment at least once every 10 min to remind you you are still in turbulent air? Do they honestly think the passengers forgot? We are in the plane too! I understand they have to be careful due to liability but this airline is ridiculous. Believe it or not customers do not like being treated like children. Would not recommend to others or fly this airline again. Also, the lunch was awful even by airline standards. Btw the airline was avianca not AA. kayak must have messed up or they are owned by AA. AA is great and I recommend them wholeheartedly but Avianca is awful. Stay away if you can afford to do so.
Pros: Seats were very roomy, both in with and legroom. The whole flight experience was good.
Cons: Headphones on a short-haul flight were used and we're clearly dirty with dust. Drinks on the flight are quite particular. There were people who asked for beer and got a can, others who asked for the same got just half of the can.
Cons: Denied boarding by gate agent. 5 min past mandatory one hour cut off from boarding. We had been standing in line for agent for 30 minutes. Two customers flying with little dogs delaying the movement of line. Flight was subsequently delayed by 2 hours and 10 min. More than enough time to allow us to board under 1 hour regulation. I booked LATAM instead of AA based on reputation, very upsetting experience for us.
Pros: All was good ...
Cons: The dinner alternatives were not available for everyone ... probably because we were sitting close to the last row of seats. That is not acceptable because everyone is paying the same regardless were you are seated.
Pros: Flight was on time. Easy boarding. Smooth flight.
Cons: In flight entertainment was below expectations
Cons: Nothing at all
Pros: Avianca personnel helped as much as posssible because I am a frequent flyer in Star Alliance but there was only so much they could do
Cons: The itinerary I selected from Kayak site was impossible to accomplish especially with checked luggage because they would not transfer my bag from one airline to the next. Although I got my luggage quickly and got to the check in counter right away, the flight had closed and I had to wait for the next flight.
Pros: Immediately after I finished with the check in agent, two men flashed police badges, grabbed my bags, and took me to a sketchy back room upstairs and absolutely tore apart my bags. While my bags were being searched they peppered me with questions. It lasted about 20 minutes and it was extraordinaryly stressful because they didn't seem to care if I was going to miss my flight. Normally, i wouldn't blame the airline for this, but another lady who was similarly harassed said that when she asked someone they said that if you're traveling alone and booked online, you got flagged for this extra screening. (A young German man was also dragged to the back room... we were all very non-Andean looking). That is ridiculous criteria to prevent anything- terrorism or drug smuggling! I would think the airline/police could come up with better criteria. Also, there was no drug sniffing dog and they didn't even have me turn on my gigantic camera... which I have had to do in the past to demonstrate that it was functional. Horrible.
Pros: Flight was quick- onboard entertainment (streaming videos to your device) was cool...but the back of the plane is pretty bumpy and there was a lot of turbulance.
Pros: Nothing at all
Cons: Couldn't flight. I was on time, got an inspection through the police,. Missed my flight for the long inspection. Now, the airline wants me to pay penality for something that I didn't commit. Francisco Vishnu Carpio checa
Cons: Check in crew were awful. Told us that there was a sick passenger on the plane and asked if my friend and I would volunteer to take a flight out the next day, that star alliance would put us up in a hotel over night, pay for our evening meal and fly us business class in the morning, that all we had to do was wait at our departure gate And someone would call our name before boarding. We accepted, waited patiently, then we were scolded for having our checked bags with us and told multiple different conflicting stories about how we were to board our flight, that volunteers were no longer needed. I checked multiple times with check-in crew to confirm that the scenario was a go. They confirmed each time, so I canceled my accommodations for the evening in Lima. The change up at the gate left for a big mess to clean up. The gate crew kept arguing hat they never told us to cancel our Lima plans. But that was besides the point. The point was, they told us one thing, there was a major breakdown in communication among check in and gate crew as well as between all crew and me and no crew member took ownership or apologized for the flub up. And I'd like to point out, this was not a language barrier issue, all flight crew spoke English fluently. One crew member said all volunteers were obtained and they no longer needed us, another said that the sick person flying (the initial issue) was no longer flying, so no volunteers were needed. crew never owned that. they suggested that it was our issue that we canceled our plans. We were able to fix, but incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience.
Pros: Poor customer service. Did not assist in is trying to get on another flight
Cons: Cost $250 with another airline they didn't assist at all and were very rude.
Pros: It was quick and we had a smooth landing....
Cons: Upon arriving in Lima, Avianca 808 passengers became aware that none (zero, nada) of the bags were loaded onto the plane in Cusco. The customer service response to this airline error was sub-par. Passengers were told that the baggage issue was "weather-related", which is ludicrous even if the weather both in origin and destination had not been clear and sunny with no wind (it was). Info was taken on if passengers needed bags sent on to another destination or to a hotel but were told it would not get to Lima until the next morning (this was flight 808 landing just before 4 pm). Unclear why it couldn't be put on the next flight same day. And unclear what is happening to our bags now until the morning. No apology wasn't issued to passengers. Additionally we were delayed 15 mins due to "weather". I don't mind short delays but it was absolutely not weather-related. Weather is the default excuse to transfer fault away from themselves.
Pros: The least service I have seen among all the airlines I have traveled so far
Pros: The space
Cons: The agents and flight attendants were very unfriendly. You could tell that because I was of a different nationality that this was a problem.
Pros: Although we were in "Economy" class, it felt just like Business. Lots of space to stretch your legs, personal TV monitor on the back of each head rest (Including HBO!), and even though it was a short 1.5 hour flight we were served drinks and a meal.
Cons: The meal was average to sub-par, but than again it was a short flight and a warm meal was actually a pleasant surprise.
Pros: Spacious seats
Cons: Took forever To take off. Also a mix up happens with our seats & crew was unconcerned or helpful.
Pros: Nice entertainment on new 737.
Cons: But it is a 3-3 and there no room to sit cause we are hip to hip which means shoulders overlap shoulders. It is horrible. Avoid this plane at all costs. It's really bad. Pitch of leg room is barely OK but side to side they have sunk to a new low. The new plane doesn't blow any air. Terrible system. Really? That should be easy to fix.
Cons: Our flight from Washington DC to Lima had a connection flight in Colombia. Since the flight from DC was delayed for more than an hour we ended up missing our connection flight from Colombia to Lima, Peru. And from there everything went downhill. In Colombia they crew didn't know what was going to happen to us. After waiting over 3 hours they finally told us the found an early morning flight for us and that they were going to accommodate us in an hotel in Colombia for to spend the night. we waited until midnight for the transportation to the hotel and there were another 100 persons waiting to get transportation to the hotel as well and to check inn in the hotel. disaster.
Cons: The emergency exit row window seats are extremely uncomfortable. Seats don't recline and there is no arm rest along the wall. Also, there were no vegetarian options aboard and the flight attendants didn't make any effort to put together something I could eat.
Cons: To be business class it's really unconfortable. Just old airplanes that should be changed and It was Avianca (No AA)
Pros: Good options of entertainment.
Cons: Bad service of few members of the crew. Always seem to disturb them. In the long flight, they never pass to offer water (flight Bogota-Barcelona)
Cons: Their check in was ridiculously slow-15-20 min per person at times. How is that possible? The flight was said to be 90 min delayed. I asked about getting on another airline. They said no. Finally this 1 hour flight was 3 hours late to Lima & I missed my international flight. Never again Avianca.
Pros: On time departure and arrival. Plane was clean and seating was not uncomfortable althouth they didn't recline very much. Short flight so it was o.k.
Pros: Right in time and crew very responsable.
Cons: The audio for film's didn't function in many places of the plain.
Pros: Nice crew. Comfortable plane.
Cons: The Cusco airport was a mess! Long delay an changed the gate twice
Pros: Very comfy seats, a lot of leg space.
Cons: One hour delay
Pros: Loved that he was upfront with all of us that it would be a bumpy flight after about 20 minutes, which he was correct and very accurate.
Cons: I thought his delivery sounded a little more "worrisome" than it needed to be. I thought that he could have expressed the same sentiment, while sounding more confident in his ability and more soothing for folks like me who despise turbulence:)
Pros: I enjoyed the whole experience. The staff was friendly and the plane was clean.
Pros: The flight overall. Also, it landed early.
Cons: In Charlotte, they had to deplane on the tarmac and my daughter had a crutch, so she had to sit on the steps to go down them.
Pros: Crew were great, flight was enjoyable and scenery stunning, enjoyed the flight once we got going.
Cons: Mix up at the boarding gate - allocated gate 4 and then moved to gate 1. Half hour delay due to reshuffle not good when someone is meeting you at the other end. Entertainment system not working so lucky no one sitting next to me so could then move and this system not functioning properly. Suggest that any changes are given with plenty of notice and loudly and/or on the screen at the departure gate - maybe this has to be negotiated with the Cusco airport. Broadcasts in Spanish are okay for those who speak it but English is lost when announcements are made.
Pros: Not much interaction with crew Felt crammed in
Cons: More leg room And don’t slam overheads so hard
Cons: Free wifi
Cons: Be on time!!
Cons: Wifi/entertainment didn’t work.
Pros: The crew did their best considering we were 3 hrs delayed and there were no snacks for any of the passengers.
Cons: Three hr delay with a 15 month old never good and not having snacks for passengers never good.
Pros: Smooth flight, early arrival.
Cons: Entertainment Sytem was down for 2/3 of the flight.
Pros: Clean, new, amplíe seats... in Economy!
Cons: 45 min delay...
Pros: Service was very good, they were on time and considering the flight time food was good too.
Pros: Boarded on time. Smooth boarding. Departed on time. Landed on time.
Cons: Pay for food, cold on plane entire time, everyone bundled up in blankets, jackets but staff friendly
Pros: Easy going all the way
Cons: Having to run from one side of Denver International to the complete other side
Cons: In both airports I was wheeled to gates and left in the way of people coming and going. I tried to get the attention of airline employees and when I did they told someone else and so I sat for between 40-60 minutes.
Pros: It was cheap
Cons: Customer attention, they wanted 50.000 lb not a bit above otherwise is US$200!
Pros: Comfy roomy seats, free WiFi, free coffee
Pros: Short flight so not all questions applied
Cons: Too small seats
Pros: We landed safely
Cons: Delayed 2 hours.
Pros: Each flight I was on, the seats were roomy and comfortable. I don't like to fly, but I have to admit, I felt pretty good on these flights. I get scared when it's bumpy, but I guess that's just life in the air.
Cons: Not much
Cons: Ear phone jack didnt work, paying more every time i travel for less, extra to check just one bag, extra to watch a movie, uncomfortable conditions for 4 hours, extra to eat anything, becoming a joke
Cons: They said it was due to weather but my wife flew out of Texas with now issues.... we were to meet up and couldn't till much later, no big deal that I pay for a vacation and have to start it late...
Pros: The flight was quick and easy
Pros: Boarded quickly and on time!
Pros: Left early and arrived early
Cons: Our flight was delayed so we were offered to get on an "earlier" flight. The "earlier" flight never left until 40 minutes AFTER our originally scheduled flight.
Pros: Flight left on time! No problem in OHare with transferring planes. Next flight also on time.
Pros: Horrible smell in the cabin, lavatory out of service
Cons: Horrible smell in the cabin, lavatory out of service
Cons: Seats are very uncomfortably
Pros: The flight crew were kind and professional
Cons: My nonstop flight was cancelled and I was given a replacement flight with a layover. The cancellation was given with short notice and made for a stressful ride to the airport in oreder to make the new flight time. The layover was supposed to be one hour and ended up being 3 hours. This was very disappointing and exhausting flight. The ride was fine once on board
Cons: My bag didn't arrive to the destination. The food in the plane was terrible. I was really disappointed from the company.
Cons: Delayed. Missed connection. Happens too often. Moving my business to southwest.
Pros: The flight from New Jersey to Michigan is short.
Cons: My flight in January was delayed because mechanical issues with the plane. My flight in February was delayed because of mechanical issues on the plane. Each time we were delayed about the amount of time the actual flight takes. The bathrooms on both planes smelled like a sewer.
Cons: 3 hour delay, water didn't work in bathroom so there was no washing my hands, bathroom old and dirty, seats old, mismatched and dirty. Essentially a terrible flight.
Pros: Didn't take me long to rebook the flight when it got cancelled due to weather/pilots timing out
Cons: The way the whole thing was handled. I ended up flying on the 5th because of the issues with weather. My general problem was with the way the situation was handled. We shouldn't have boarded the plane on the 4th given the fact that the pilots were probably gonna time out anyway. Instead of wasting time, the protocol should've been to begin rebooking everybody to another flight. Just my two cents
Pros: I liked I got notified of the delay.
Cons: The flight kept getting pushed back and no alternatives were provided. I was able to get on a different flight after sitting at the airport for 6 hours because the delay text came after I was just about to the airport. Very inconveniencing for traveling.
Cons: We changed planes and was 5 hours late
Pros: Never will fly United again. First flight left early and we missed it.second re-flight arrived late to get us so we arrived too late to get our next flight. Here we are spending all our money in airports and a cheap motel in Chicago in the rain instead of being in Florida with our family.
Pros: Great flight.
Cons: I purchase the economy plus seat, hoping to get some sleep. But, the seat did not recline at all! It was so uncomfortable that I could not rest. This was not worth the extra $57 I paid.
Cons: The flight was delayed 7 hours and we weren't given an option to leave or much heads up about the extent of the delays
Cons: Flights were all delayed or cancelled
Pros: This is not a long flight (Grand Rapids, MI to Newark, NJ: just under 2 hours). There was a minor delay for departure of 20 minutes that Kayak and United kept us well aware of. The Grand Rapids, Ml airport is one of my new favorites -it's small, friendly, comfortable and quick and easy to navigate.
Cons: Left about 15 minutes late. But we didn't miss any connections so everything turned out okay.
Pros: That trip was great to Housto!
Pros: Nowadays the gate closes 10 minutes before takeoff which really helps get the plane off on time as we can make connections. Some may not know this and find it frustrating. As a regular traveler I appreciate the move.
Pros: Fast flight, on-time
Cons: Old plane, uncomfortable seats, really dirty looking bathroom
Pros: Great customer service and free movies,
Cons: My luggage was opened in belive in lima, few things missing.
Cons: I cancelled it and it appears it didn't really cancel
Cons: Our plane was delayed leaving Grand Rapids. Once in Houston there was no gate available causing another 10 minute delay. All bags were required to be checked plane side so once we finally got off the plane it took another 10 minutes to get our bags. Many passengers had tight connections and had to rush to their next flight. My connection was already tight as it was - and I had to go to a completely different terminal very far from where I was to catch it. Five of us were on that flight connecting to San Diego. We finally made it to the gate. The plane was still there but the door was closed so we were not allowed to board. It was the last flight out so we were stranded in Houston overnight. This caused me to miss a very important medical appointment this morning - and to have to cancel client sessions leading to a significant loss of income.
Pros: United always has the cleanest planes I've been on the offer a lot for what they have.
Cons: Seats are a little tight. I'm a 6'4" male knees always in the back of a seat makes for an uncomfortable ride. However the seats are the most comfortable one been on in a nation wide travel.
Pros: Non stop service Friendly, courteous personnel
Cons: Cost of the flight
Pros: I liked the crew and the entertainment, though the touch screen went carzy at the end of the flight and I couldn't make it work adequately.
Cons: The seats. They are definitely not comfortable for a long flight. They don't have enough cushion, so I had to use the pillow to sit on. The man next to me did the same. Also, the seats do not recline sufficiently, so it's almost impossible to sleep.
Pros: Not contable seats at all!!!
Cons: They should offer a snack and drink for flights!!
Pros: Smooth and uneventful.
Pros: Spirit Air has very capable, professional, & helpful employees,... you remind me of German carriers I worked for (Condor, Lufthansa & LTU)
Cons: People around me kept taking off their masks. The crew corrected them twice, but I think they could have done a better job of it.
Cons: No social distancing, every seat was taken
Cons: It was appalling the place was 100% full when we are in the middle of a global pandemic. Shame on the greed of Spirit
Pros: I liked getting off the plane and leaving those incompetent employees behind.
Cons: First, I was charged an extra $55 for an overweight bag when I’d already paid $30 to check it in the first place. Then, every employee I encountered acted like a miserably underpaid two year old who was forced to be there. Slight advice: if you didn’t make the price of the flights so “cheap,” you wouldn’t have to overcharge for any and everything else related to the stupid flight. The incompetent, unpleasant employees just added insult to injury. THE worst airline I’ve ever had the displeasure of flying with.
Pros: Efficient process Clean airplane Timeliness
Cons: Do not like having to pay such extraordinarily high prices for bags. Also the website was very inefficent. I had already selected seats and paid for them, yet when I would try to access the reservation, it did not show that I had done this. Additionally, I had to extend my stay and was unable to make a modification to my reservation on the website, as I was encouraged to do by Spirit. I logged into "My Trips" yet at no time was there ever a link to make a flight change. Really disappointing considering I had very little time to spend doing this due to a family member being in the process of dying.
Pros: Seats were nice and stewardist.
Cons: Was running late because roads were almost to point of non drivable. Zero visibility. The spirit machine would not print my boarding pass. It said see an attendant for assistance. I checked in day before flight. The man at first would not help me print my pass. I couldn't pull my pass up on smart phone but I had the receipt and confirmation. Finally he helped and printed my boarding pass. People shouldn't be treated like this. I pay my taxes and I don't have to choose spirit. I can fly through another airliner. The fact that he was giving me a hard time on Christmas was even worse. If I acted that way at my job I'd be fired. Thank you for sending me your survey and have a great day and a happy new year.
Cons: Spirit Airlines is a complete joke! We were standing at the ticket counter by 10:15 and the flight was at 11:06 yet refused to print out boarding passes. They even allowed the person directly in front of us to check in but apparently we were the cut off. After asking to speak with a supervisor, the ticket agent disappeared for 15 minutes only to return and tell us that there was no supervisor available. What? So..... no one is supervising the staff or daily operations? That’s a little scary. We asked the ticket agent again to print our boarding passes and at least let us attempt to make the flight but he again refused. The ticket gate we were at was directly next to the security line which had about 5 people in it. We also heard him tell the person in front of us who he allowed to check in that our gate was literally the first gate after security. I can not comprehend why he wouldn’t at least give us the option to try and make the flight which was 100% realistic. Instead, he refused our request for boarding passes a third time. The lack of service I received was absolutely and completely ridiculous. In a state of panic I began looking up other flight options that would get us to our destination on time... there was nothing! While I️ was researching flights, my traveling companion ran to the Southwest Airlines ticket counter and explained the situation. The ticket agent immediately began checking the computer and found a flight that would get us to our destination in time but the flight was leaving in 30 minutes. She stated that she could not promise we would make the flight but was happy to let us try! We got through security quickly and were able to board the 11:15 flight. Our original flight with Spirit departed at 11:06. I want a refund or I will be contacting my bank for a chargeback.
Pros: The only up side is that I eventually got home... :(
Cons: When I purchased my ticket I paid extra for an isle exit row seat. On the day of my flight I got an email plenty early that the flight had been delayed an hour with no explanation why, which stinks. Once on the plane we found out that the reason we were delayed was because they changed the planes that morning and we needed to wait for an extra stewardess to get to the airport bc of the plane change. This is HORRIBLE planning, if you don't have the staff don't change the plane!! Also because of the plane change my seat was no longer in an exit row. When I explained to the stewardess that I paid extra for my seat that was supposed to be in an exit row I was told that I needed to return to my seat and they will fix it after they are done boarding. Once everyone was on the plane they told me that I was "lucky" because there was still a middle seat in an exit row available... Again I had PAID EXTRA for an ISLE EXIT ROW seat when I purchased the ticket but now I am lucky they can seat me in the last exit tow seat available. When I brought up the fact that I shouldn't have to complain to get the seat that I had already paid for the stewardess gave me attitude like I should be grateful for whatever they give me. Then she passed me off to another gentleman who didn't care about hearing what my issue was he just wanted the plane to take off already. I felt very disrespected by all the Spirit employees once on the plane. Spirit in general is very shady because if I hadn't brought up the fact that I paid extra for my exit row they would have just let me pay the extra money for a normal seat.
Cons: The passenger next to us smelled like vomit. It was terrible sitting next to him and I had to keep spraying my body mist every few minutes since it was extremely hard to breathe! He smelled like dead rats and old eggs vomitus combined! Worst experience in any airline so far! :(
Pros: - Flight attendants were nice. They deserve a raise, since your CEO makes $7 million a year. - The outstanding pilots got us to LAX safely. They deserve a raise, since your CEO makes $7 million a year.
Cons: - The seats were not comfortable - The seats don't recline back (seriously CEO Robert L. Fornaro? You won't invest in reclining seats? wow that's pathetic) - Spirit won't even offer free beverages (even water) after I paid over $500 for a ticket? (seriously? That make's your airline look so pathetically greedy/cheap) - The fact that you have "Entertainment" as a category, yet there is no entertainment of any kind (in-flight movies, etc.) - The fact that CEO Robert L. Fornaro makes over $7 million a year. He's grossly overpaid...someone should tell the Board of Directors.
Pros: Nothing at all there was horrible every time you ask somebody to help you they pull it you to someone else then they wait all day for someone that didn't even show up the service sucked the people were nice but the service sucked
Cons: The fact that I had to pay for my room when I save money to go to Peru and I had to pay for my room because they told me it was a g import then they told me to go to the 8 then they told me to go to f then I had to go right back around and go back to H which took me hours to get through the checkpoint then when I get there they tell me that my planes gone when they said they call me I looked on my caller ID I had no phone this phone call from no Airline needed in my wife now she's in Peru by herself and I'm stuck in Fort Lauderdale Florida and she's all the way in Peru then I have no way of getting to her now y'all told me I got to wait till Wednesday to come it's ridiculous
Pros: They were efficient at loading and unloading. The business model of minimal inclusions was fine.
Cons: I booked through Kayak but was not told about all the extra costs that could be incurred. I was unaware of the extra costs for checked bags. The cost was far more than other airlines. The flight attendants talked non stop to the point I was wishing I had ear plugs. The discounts for printing your own tickets and checking your bags ahead of time was not communicated prior to check in. It is on the website but not through the booking service. The self check in kiosk at check in would not work so we were upcharged for not using it but we couldn't.
Cons: First flight was delayed to wait for connecting passengers, connecting flight was not. Had to leave the terminal and wait in line with people checking bags to get another flight which made me I miss multiple alternative flights I could have caught if they had a desk inside the terminal. What was left was an 11 hour set of connecting flights the next morning instead of the original 4 hour direct flight. Speaking with the person rescheduling me, she admitted that no one had informed them that our flight was running late, which could have been to blame for why the connecting flight was not held a few minutes. Icing on the cake: my missed connecting flight landed 30 minutes early.
Pros: Email update about change of gate.
Cons: Spirit is not forthcoming on website about the extra charges prior to booking the flights, and the charges go up substantially at the airport. There was 45 minute wait time at the baggage claim. The seats are the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced in 50 years of flying. There is also not nearly enough leg room between rows. Charging $65 for a small piece of carry on luggage is disgusting. Not having any water free of charge is not healthy for the passengers on a 4.5 hour flight. The flight attendants discouraged anyone from standing or moving around, also not good for one's health.
Cons: Everything that Spirit has done has been mediocre. I bought a ticket for my employee to fly to New Orleans and he showed up at the kiosk 40 minutes before the flight and was not able to get on so I had to pay $15 to reschedule for today and he showed up at the same time and still they said that their computers were down and they couldn't check anybody in and there's multiple people angry that they're boarding passes want working and so now we have to figure out how he can get to New Orleans and actually make it there. It'll be three days of not being able to get there because of spirits unethical and subpar customer service. I will never choose to fly Spirit again after this
Pros: Flight attendants were a cut above -- calm, charming and very helpful as opposed to the surly hall monitors typical of most budget most airlines.
Cons: Aware of "hidden fees" I checked all of my boxes, checked in online in advance, paid for bags in advance, and when I got there, gate agent says bags were not paid for... BS. I entered credit card and paid. Apparently payment did not go through. Would NOT have been an issue at all had I not been charged $10 more for the same check-in. What a racket. Even when I tried to avoid surprise fees, they got me. Same thing happened to another passenger. Totally unethical. No benefit of the doubt given. Unreal. It destroyed what would have been an overall good experience on Spirit.
Pros: I liked that I was given a refund for the flights I purchased.
Cons: My experience with Spirit airlines was one for the books (in a very bad way). First off, my flight to the airport where my flight with Spirit was, arrived an hour and twenty minutes before my next flight left. When I got in line to check in, I realized that I was supposed to check in at the kiosk first, before getting in line. Once I got to the kiosk, however, it wouldn't let me check in because it was 12 minutes after the "45 minutes prior to flight" deadline. After this, I went to the front desk where the woman told me I would not be able to board the flight because I was too late for check-in (which is rediculous; I was 12 minutes late for being 45 minutes early, and I was only late because I didn't know I was supposed to check in at the kiosk first. poor communication!). At this point, she sent me over to another counter to get it sorted out. At this counter, the gentlemen told me the next flight to Lima would leave the next day at the same time. He booked me a flight, but then let me know that I would have to purchase another flight out of Peru to show that I wasn't staying. This is preposterous. I've never had to do that before with any other airline. On top of this, he also let me know that my wife and I would only be able to take one bag each instead of the three we had. This was just the cherry on top of an already awful situation. So we would either have to leave a bag there (out of the question) or buy another $600 ticket just to set our bag in a chair next to us (yeah right!). I was very disappointed. You'd think that that's something the airline would tell us ahead of time since it's only on flights to Lima that they do this. Terrible communication. In the end, we were forced to book another flight with a different airline. Luckily, they did refund us for the $500 we spent on that flight. However, we spent another $500 each to book new flights. That's $500 we had to spend because of Spirit being a lousy airline that communicates very poorly and causes it's guests to suffer for it. My wife and I just got married a couple weeks ago. Spending an unnecessary $500 wasn't exactly in our budget as newlyweds. Not only did we have to spend this extra chunk of cash, but we also had to spend an extra night sleeping on the floor at the airport. Overall, it was a downright nasty experience. Aside from just being an awful experience, this is just a horrible way to treat people. We suffered as a direct result of Spirit's poor communication with it's customers. This didn't need to happen. It shouldn't have happened. It could have easily been avoided. We suffered a lot at the hands of Spirit airlines. I have every right to sue them for the damage they caused us (both financially and emotionally). Spirit caused us a great deal of harm and stress, and we deserve to be compensated for it. If we don't see some kind of gesture of goodwill from this Airline, they will not only lose one customer for life, but my friends.
Cons: Paid $50 to check a computer they told me was too big for a carry-on. Computer was sent on a direct flight way before I was getting to my destination(instead of on my connection) and was left in an unattended area. They told me it was "most likely stolen" and asked why I didn't take it on the plane. Your gate agent told me it was too big!!!! This was the answer I got after 3 days of investigating myself. I was told various stories like "it got stuck at security" and "it never got on the plane" until I got home and went directly to the baggage office and asked them on my own. The kid that actually tagged it said his supervisor told him to send it direct. Sounds like they set things up to get stolen. I will be filing a complaint and claim.
Pros: The staff was very polite knowledgeable and always smiled and some joked with made the flight a pleasure.
Cons: I didn't know that the bag check was 40 pounds most are 50. I booked though a 2nd party and was not informed about having to pick a seat and the you had to pay for a carry on. They do not tell you about this be for you check out and also if you booking for 2 you may not be together on the flight unless you. pay before hand and then pick your seat. Also when looking for a phone umber on the web site and you hit contact us it sends you to the help and doesn't not show a phone number to talk to a person. The flight was good. I don't think that you should have to pay extra to make sure you are next to your family when traveling
Cons: First, when I booked I was not given option to pay for baggage or choose seats, meaning I wasn't able to use the cheapest option. I had to spend at least 2 hours on the phone with a Spirit agent to get to pay for my bags before arriving at the airport at all - I wasn't able to do it online. On day of flight: the first leg was delayed. When we got to layover our final flight had been cancelled with no reason given. We were booked on another flight 8 hours later which meant we got in late enough that I had to miss another day of work. The Spirit agent at the gate in Las Vegas was also extremely rude. I also didn't get any phone or email updates.
Cons: I flew spirit to Detroit last week, and after getting delayed 18 hours I finally made it. Now, currently sitting at the airport, my spirit flight home to Denver has been canceled at least 10 minutes after we were suppose to have boarded. I have been at the airport for 5 hours and have been yelled at to stay back from the counter and not to ask questions or else we would just be delaying the process. After about 2.5 hours of waiting, we finally got a number to call to re-book, which still took over an hour. This has been THE WORST airline experience I have ever had. If I were representing this airline I would be ashamed of the horrible service it provides. I genuinely believe I deserve a full refund for my flight (even if it was re-booked)... not just given an apology voucher because I promise I will never fly spirit again.
Pros: Spirit has very nice, patient and helpful employees.
Cons: I'm a fairly small woman and these planes are awful to ride in. Very uncomfortable seats. The man sitting next to me on my flight to Detroit was sitting 1/3 in my seat. I had zero personal space. I was flying to MI for my fathers funeral and the airline doesn't acknowledge or do anything for bereavement. That's pretty unfeeling. I also have never been on a plan with such loud passengers. It sounded like everyone was talking. People where listening to videos out loud without headphones and they never turned the lights all the way down eventhough it was a late flight (8pm to 1am). Also: Nowhere to plug devices in. No entertainment. Not even water is free. They only take credit card so if you are desperately in need of water and only have cash you are screwed. Charges for every carry on bag.
Pros: We landed safe.
Cons: I needed to change my flight to a later time within minjtes of booking and they charged me for it. The delay was over two hrs w no explanation, $100 charges for a backpack, seats do not recline, narrow space, $3 for water,, there were emty seats and was told I would have to pay $75 is I moved from my broken seat. staff is rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. Overall , I have travleled the world in all kinds of flights and by far the worst experience I have ever had was flying SPIRIT Air. I will avoid flying Spirit unless it tis my last option...which I may cosider not flying at all. Zero Stars
Cons: Liked every bit of it
Pros: The flight was on time. The price was great. The seats & leg room were decent.
Cons: It was okay. The person next to me wore a very heavy perfume & I have an allergy which gave me a migraine. The flight attendant wouldn't let me move to an empty seat. She appeared to think that I wanted to move because the person next to me was a larger person. I was clear that the size of the person next to me had nothing to do with it. So I spent the entire flight covering my nose to minimize the effect, in pain, nauseated & clearly making the larger person next to me feel bad. All could have been avoided by allowing me to move to an empty seat
Pros: I liked how my flight went smoothly, and that the price of the ticket even with the cost of my purchased carry on bag, was immensely cheaper than all the other flights for that day. If you go off of comfort, this may not be the flight for you, but if you base a good flight off of how affordable it is, then I would recommend Spirit Airlines.
Cons: I didn't like how the seats were not very comfortable, and they did not recline, or have any head cushion that can bend for your head to rest on. Yes, it sucks that you have to pay for a carry on bag, but if you can put everything into a normal sized school backpack, then you can use that as your free personal item. And if you have more stuff, then you just have to plan ahead, and pay for your bag ahead of time, as it will cost more than double at the gate. NOTE that if you have a layover, you will have to pay for the bag twice. I think that was the worst thing out of the whole experience. Don't count on getting free food or drinks either. Just bring them with you on the plane.
Cons: I arrived at 5:18 for a 6am flight DTW to LGA. Was unable to print my boarding pass because was too late. Asked for assistance from agent, who told me gate was closed and wouldn't allow me through. I don't believe that the gate was closed 35 mins before departure, and I feel the agent could have made some effort to get me on the flight, especially after I told her I'm an oncologist and that I needed to be in New York to start seeing patients at 9am. Agents (Alexis and Leila) flatly refused, completely unsympathetic. Fortunately was able to get on next available flight on Delta, at cost of $450.
Pros: Fast boarding and unboarding.
Cons: Charging $55 fee for a carry-on is way too much!! If you pay for your carry-ons online it is $10 dollars less.I tried to do that, but, unfortunately every time I tried to complete the transaction the page keep redirecting me to buy more "extra services". I chose check out without any extras but nothing!! The webpage was no responsive!! I tried to pay for my carry-on from my cell, laptop and tablet. But same result, that page became frozen without allowing me to pay the fee. I don't know if this was an unfortunately condidence, or is done on purpose to charge the extra $10!!
Pros: It's cheap-ish.
Cons: I won't bother telling you all the things you know about Spirit but that you think might be tolerable in exchange for cheap airfare: seats that don't recline, a charge for a carry-on bag, a charge to print a boarding pass, a charge for soda and snacks. All of that I'm used to, as is anyone who flies Spirit. You want basic amenities, fly Delta. You want cheap, fly Spirit. But something new and remarkably unwelcome happened on this flight: we arrived at the airport an hour before our 6am flight and were told when we tried to check in that we were too late and the flight was closed. I explained that we already had booked a flight--I wasn't asking to buy a new ticket. She said she understood, but we'd never clear security in time (there was no line) and that our bags probably wouldn't arrive at our destination because we were "so late." We had no bags. I said we needed to get home. They said, "You're supposed to be here 2 hours early." That rule is a bit like the speed limit--no one actually follows it to the T. There's a range of appropriate (say, less than 2 but more than 1 hour) and inappropriate (say, 15 minutes before your flight). When you're flying at 6am and you know there won't be a line, you don't really arrive that early. Anyway, they called a supervisor who said to let us board. And then there was a mechanical problem with this plane that was so intent on leaving ASAP that we weren't going to be allowed to board a full hour in advance. And the flight was an hour delayed, meaning I guess we really did arrive 2 hours in advance. Dump Spirit. It is never, ever worth it.
Pros: The idea that I don't have to use Spirit the next time I travel
Cons: I got to the Airport to try to print out my boarding pass 45 minutes before the flight at 5:20 AM for a 6:05 flight. I must have missed the required cut off (45 minutes to check in) by a minute or two and the Spirit Airlines person responsible for helping refused to help me and even acknowledged that there was no line at security and I would have easily been able to get on the flight and I had no bag to check in. She said I could get on a flight the next day. I had to buy a ticket from another airline in order to get home.
Cons: The crew at the gate let a large family through... they were sneaking additional bags on the plane. Trying to have kids carry them and hiding them in strollers, etc. Instead of charging them for the bags they saw, which were all larger than the free item size crew still let them through. I counted eight bags and that made me very angry because so many people pay in advance and I packed extremely light to avoid additional charges and this family was rude and careless with no consequence. They did not pay the additional fee for any of the bags!
Pros: If I want to fly somewhere with just my laptop and no carry on and no luggage, this will be the way to go.
Cons: After booking this flight with Spirit (2 flights out and 2 flights back, and I'm not going to rate each one separately) I was ready to log in an pay for baggage because I did not carefully examine all the details when booking. We did not get a free carry-on and the price for paying for luggage was higher than expected. BUT that was just the beginning. In every flight I've been on before, you pay for your bags one, I had to pay for the bags each step of the way. And paying for luggage and carry-ons each step of the way meant paying over $300 for bags. I'm used to paying $30 per person. So my excitement at getting low fares evaporated instantly. I was now paying the going rate for the flight with a lot of extra hassle to boot. I was with my aunt who needed a wheelchair to get around the airport in a wheelchair. Other airlines had them available for us to use, but Spirit would only offer to call a service for us. They did not indicate what the cost of this service would be. They didn't say it was free and they didn't say it was not. I just found an empty wheelchair and used that, after having just paid more than $300 for baggage for three small bags, I wasn't into more surprises. But I had to use American Airlines wheelchairs which they were cool with, because Spirit refused to let me use theirs without the escort (paid?) who actually didn't show up in the few minutes it took me to think it through.
Cons: Again, same as first flight. I haven't flown with Spirit in a long time. I forgot the reason I don't is because ticket prices may be low but you pay for literally everything which makes the prices pretty much equal to Delta or any other better airline. It was only comfortable because I paid so much extra for seats. If I buy a ticket, seat number should be included. Kinda common sense on that one. What food? I had to pay for it if I wanted a meal. A flight this long should have included a meal. I had the extra task of making sure I already had a meal with me upon boarding. Ummm......there was no entertainment either.
Pros: On plane staff were nice and helpful.
Cons: Spirit makes you pay for every single little thing and up charges you for the littlest thing as well. A cup of water on my flight was 3$. The low price of the ticket is pointless when you get charged three times more for booking, bags, checkin, carry on... WATER. I will fly delta next time and they will give me all that for FREE. The seats and plane itself were AWFUL. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and the tray table was smaller than my iPad mini. I am not sure when Spirit changed everything but they lost several customers from it. ,their low prices draw you in.
Pros: Friendly stewardess
Cons: The chairs are low budget seats cushions are thin with and the leg room is limited which makes the ride very uncomfortable. I travel with various airlines and this was my 1st time traveling with spirit. This is by far my most uncomfortable plane ride with any airline. The cost for all beverages Is another concern. It is practically a potential health concern for a customer flying 2 hours or more to not have at least water provided for free. The credit card only for beverage payment also is a inconvenience for a small purchase that could easily be settle with cash. In closing, I feel this company is a prime example of producing poor service when the airline try to cut cost then capitalize on every single accommodation at the complete expense and inconvenience of the customers.
Cons: I usually never post anything negative for a review, so here is my first one. I had an awful flying experience with spirit I will never fly with them again. I will keep it short and simple. They charge you for everything that your flight ends up becoming super expensive and its obscured until you get hit with the fee. First off, bag check in is ridiculously expensive. Cost me just about 100 dollars to check a tiny bag. The seats on the airline do not recline and there was absolutely zero leg room. Im not that tall (6'0), so there is no reason I should have to sit sideways on the seat because my knees are jammed into the seat in front of me. My entire neck and back became stiff when I got off the aircraft because of this. Water cost me 5 dollars. Do I need to say more? Water should be free. I left my long sleeve shirt in my bag that was already checked, so I asked a flight attendant if they had a tiny blanket ( It was so cold my jaw was shivering ) And she literally told me you should have brought one, we are not responsible for lending flyers blankets because its too cold.. Could not believe the awful experience I had with this airline. Never again. 1 star is generous.
Cons: Price gouged every step of the way, spirit airlines should not even be permitted to operate. Expect to pay $50 or more if you should be so brazen to want to bring luggage. Checked bags wouldn't be an unusual charge but even a carry on bag has a price tag. For the ridiculously high price for a one way ticket, not even so much as a complimentary cup of water was offered. No in flight entertainment, not even a flight magazine or skymall. The horribly uncomfortable seats were too narrow, and 11 inches apart from the rows ahead. I'm a short person and even I had my knees against the seat in front of me. On top of that they don't even recline. A passenger behind me was listening to headphones so loud that it was clearly audible to three rows in any direction. At one point an attendant asked him to turn it down, but within an hour he had them back up for the rest of the trip, with an "I tried" shrug from the attendant. Before landing another attempt at pandering for money was made in the form of signing up for frequent flyer miles, by purchasing spirit membership. I will never fly spirit again and would strongly urge anyone to shop around before considering spirit as their airline.
Pros: That no-one can ever again make me deal with Spirit Airlines in any way, shape, or form. An e-mail telling me the flight was cancelled was sent to my home e-mail only after I had left for the airport. There was no text message to the smart phone number I had given them when I purchased the ticket. Other airlines do send text messages. When I suggested that to the Spirit representative, she was very dismissive and said notifying us was the responsibility of the booking site through we had purchased the flight. I felt a little sorry for the woman, but her attitude did not help her.
Cons: I will avoid Spirit Airlines at all costs. First, there is the on-line bait and switch. You are quoted a price only to be told later that you have to pay $40 extra each way for even a small carry-on. You also learn that you have to pay a seat fee lest you be placed wherever they decide to put you. This is not disclosed up front--at least not prominently or in any obvious way. This borders on consumer fraud and the DOJ or Federal Trade Commission needs to take a look at this. If it is not fraud, it is clearly an unfair trade practice under Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act. The full price must be displayed up-front. If there are additional fees, those must be prominently displayed and calculated before you are allowed to commit to the purchase. My flight was cancelled and we had to wait approximately two hours in a long line while one person in a small office tried to re-book the passengers. When we got to the office, only then were we told that there were no more flights to our destination that day. By then all other flight alternatives had be taken. When I told a TSA officer my flight had been cancelled, she asked whether it was Spirit Airlines without my having indicated. When I said it was, in fact, Spirit, she said that was a common occurrence for that airline. I missed my grandmother's funeral the next day and incurred significant cancellation charges. If an airline is going to compete on price, the advertised price should be the actual price rather than merely bait.
Pros: liked the cost. flight was good plane was clean but could have been a bit cleaner (windows) seats we good (could have been a little softer) I noticed that some of the flight crew were not as focused on their attention to the passengers. I did notice that the stewardess in our area (who sat right in front of me (exit seat )) was on her cell phone texting or playing a game or what ever young people do on their phones. as a travelling public person, my comfort level or expectation is that all the time I am on board, that the crew is on duty and focused on their duties, which should include, not being distracted by using personal electronic devises at anytime. Secondly, the uniforms that the attendants wore seemed to be a little less cared for or clean as other airlines. Lastly, (this may be picky,) but it seemed that the hair of a few of the attendants seemed unkempt at a level in keeping with the beautiful airplane we were in. There was a steward that came on the plane who looked light his shirt was too big (collar was too big for his neck) as was the size of his coat. As a business owner myself, I appreciate the small things, as these can be the things that overshadows all of the other things we do to provide a good product, service or experience for our customers. Personal inner Professionalism is a mindset that transcends and fuels ongoing service, at levels which a rule book alone cannot attain. (employees who are proud of where they work, who they work with and for, end up delivering on our promises as owners.) I like your web site and appreciate the "fun" you have built into it. I understand the message it sends, but as we know, most people expect the lower fares from Spirit, but don't get the steps you must take to be able to provide those fairs and still cover ALL THE BILLS. Continued success in the future. Jim Holland
Pros: I booked my 80 year old parents their flights through Kayak. It ended up being through priceline.
Cons: My parents arrived at the airport and spirit said they didn't have authorization. that the confirmation wasn't accurate. I paid, and they had a confirmation number. but the amount of time it took to sort it out - made them miss their flight. they then had to drive 2 hours home. then get up at 2am the next day to take a different flight. arriving 1 day late and cutting their vacation short. because they didn't pick up their rental car the day they were supposed to they got an additional charge for that as well. HORRIBLE experience. I would like to know who I can talk to for customer compensation.
Pros: Absolutely nothing. Would never fly with Spirit ever again.
Cons: Make sure you realize that unlike literally every other airline, Spirit charges you $30 to bring a carry on if you pay in advance online, $55 if you end up paying at check in at the airport, and $100 if you do so at the gate. Carry on, not checked luggage. Every other airline will not charge you for it. If you want to pick your seat, or keep your family together on a flight, you have to pay extra, whereas every other airline, it's pretty much free. Because of this I was placed next to a 12 year old girl by herself in the very back row, thankfully the crew had enough sense to make sure to not let a grown stranger be in this position and moved me to a different seat, but had they allowed free seat choices, she could have sat next to her family and there would never be an issue. If you want a beverage on the flight and didn't pick up your own ahead of time, it will run you $3 while every other airline will give it to you as a complimentary service - meaning no charge. Their website touts that you're saving money on the flight cost by them charging these excessive fees, but I literally only saved $10 from the next highest flight price, ultimately running me $45 extra. Terrible business model.
Pros: It was on time. The staff was excellent Captain...excellent flight and landing even with turbulence
Cons: Seats do not recline. Tray table too small too use as work surface. If you bring anything but a book bag the cost is so steep that the it may be just as cost beneficial to fly other airlines. the beverage service for a cup of coffee is $2. The baggage claim was an hour wait and I spoke to someone who traveled to Vegas on spirit. They waited over 1 hour in Vegas and an hour when they returned home. So this must be the normal wait time. THE WEBSITE IS HORRIBLE and 800 client care w was not helpful.
Pros: Earlier in the day I was having trouble checking in and tried to call Spirit for help. It took me a long time just to figure out how to get to a person to speak with and got the message that I might be charged to speak with someone. I hung up. I can't recall having to pay to speak to an employee at any other business. The flight was delayed. 4 hours. They told us it was because of a thunder storm, but later admitted it was a problem with a flight attendants seat. When I got a chance to order a drink I was told they no longer carry scotch. Your tickets may be cheaper, but the experience is not worth it.
Pros: Staff friendly.
Cons: Wait time to board flight. Understandable for flight delays due to weather or mechanical problems ( to be taken care of in a timely manner). Not only did both of these issues play into flight departure, but also a 2 hr. delay waiting for a pilot. Pilot arrives we are all anxious to board plane. Seated and ready to go and pilot announces another slight delay, now waiting for a co-pilot. One hour later, still strapped in and ready for take off, the co-pilot boards plane. Needless to say, approx. 3 hours after scheduled departure we are finally in the air. Arriving at 2:30 am made it tough for pick-up arrangements.
Cons: I was seated next to 2 people who were clearly very ill as they were wearing masks covering their nose and mouth and exhibited numerous symptoms. I asked to be reseated but there were no other seats. Within 12 hours I came down with a terrible stomach flu and have been vomiting and diarhea nonstop for the last 12 hours. I have never been this sick in my life. The airlines should do a better job protecting people from other sick people in such proximity. I have an important job interview Monday which I will undoubtedly miss as a result and have never felt this bad
