Gate agents disappeared after 7pm becuase they were due to be done with their shifts when our flight was originally supposed to leave at 6 pm. It felt like we were trapped in the movie The Terminal. Oh! And our bag was misrouted, because that was just how things went those 2 days. All in all a 6 hour trip turned into 18 hours. I could have driven home in that amount of time!"

Guy passed out as we were about to take off so we turned back to the gate and sat on the plane for over 30 mins while we waited for medical personnel to check the guy out. Then had to wait another 15 mins for the fuel truck to refill us because we had burnt so much sitting there. I understand that we had to turn back due to his condition but why was he not removed from the plane and put on a later flight when he felt better instead of making all of us late? You would think after all this the crew would be kind and appreciate our patience but 2 of the flight attendants were the exact opposite of that. Both of them were very short with people and the one kept rolling her eyes at people as they were handing out drinks. The only thing I would give 5 stars is the tv entertainment. My seat wouldn’t even recline for me to enjoy though."

I heard a crew member call forward to say "tell them no more rollaboards" so they forced everyone left to check. On departure they slammed shut several very large empty overheads. WTF"

We saw people with two big bags get on board at the start, and then staff made everyone at the back of the line check their bags. But there was plenty of bin space before take off. Prior arriving flight was late yet this crew got us all boarded in record time and we landed ahead of original schedule. This new thing of using your own device to watch the available shows and movies is not cooperative with Apple devices. My boyfriend’s android phone was fine.

Cons: "Checking in and obtaining my boarding pass was a less than satisfying experience. Initially I could not check in until arrived at the airport because the first leg of my trip was Lufthansa through United? I tried to check in on BOTH United and lufthansa's website neither worked. I then spent about 45 minutes on the phone with a Lufthansa representitave just to find out I would be unable to check in until I arrived at the airport the next day. Once I checked in to the airport I could only get my seat for the first flight and was told I would have to get my subsequent seats while on layover. When I arrived at my layover, while trying to get my seat for the next flight I was told they were overbooked and I would have to wait 'over there' until they could figure out a place for me to sit. But when the attendant printed my ticket she was shocked to find out I had a seat, and angrily reported that 'I don't know how YOU got a seat, but you did. So go get in line for the flight!' That said, I did get in line, I did get fairly decent seats the whole trip, and all but one employee were overly helpful and nice. However it would have been far less stressful if I was just able to check in for the initial flight."

Cons: "Where to begin. I suppose we wittingly pay (or rather don't pay) for the space, so I'll focus on the crew. The attendants were rude, not just to me, but to an older lady who didn't speak much English. It all started when The woman had gone to the restroom and was trying to get back to her seat. But the beverage service had already started, so the woman stepped up to the cart, about three steps behind, and politely waited for it to move up the plane, thus freeing her to get to her seat. Instead, the flight attendant yelled at her at the top of her lungs to "get back "! As if that wasn't enough, the attendant proceeded to push the cart backward into the woman so that she would step back, and did not relent until the woman was back at the end of the plane, standing at the bathroom. What a disgrace."

Cons: "Spirit cancelled on me last minute and would not put me on another airline to get to Minnesota. It was a terrible experience and I have no interest flying with them ever again. After speaking to a counter agent, I called them and they couldn't get me on anything to get to Minnesota that day, which is when I absolutely had to be there in order to get my work done. It was a huge waste of my time and resources. Sure, I got my ticket price back - only after arguing with them that the reason that I should get my full ticket back (instead of just the leg to Minnesota) is because THEY cancelled on ME."

Cons: "Pricing is deceptive as any assigned seat costs extra. Boarding is a mess. I think they sell group 2 boarding as an extra but let group 2and 3 board together. Aisle, window and middle seats board together so people are constantly clogging aisles during boarding to let people into middle and window seats. As a result the policies that reduce carry-ons don't speed up boarding. They do clog up the departure lounge as people who haven't paid for a carry-on are pulled aside for a charge that makes their total flight cost the same as a carrier with the usual, albeit slim, amenities of most domestic airlines.This flight was hours late as was the other leg of this trip. Seats do not recline, at all. Some seat backs are just a layer of fabric, so if someone puts a knee or foot forward you get a real jab."

The 3-4 minute sales pitch for a credit card was over the top after being nickel and dimed for everything from boarding priority, seat selection, and bags. Spirit should not be listed with other airlines on flight services such as Kayak because of their hidden fees, and charging for carry on items. You should not have to sign up for their frequent flyer program in order to print a boarding pass."

Pros: "my flight connecting from chicago to baltimore was cancelled. i was offered a "full refund" or a flight THREE DAYS later. i took the refund, but they're unable to confirm my refunded amount since i made part of my flight. this airline is garbage and i'm now stranded in chicago until my new flight (that i had to pay for) takes off in the morning."

For people on such an early flight who would probably like to catch up on some sleep a little more quiet would have been nice. Also I think someone can spent max $10 at a hardware store and purchase something to place on the restroom doors so that they don't need to slam so much. I guess that's the price you pay for sitting in the a last row by the restrooms. **I think those seats rates should be cheaper. But probably never booking with Spirit ever again"
Cons: "The extreme restrictions on luggage are very hard to deal with, and during the flight there are constant announcements for drinks and snacks for sale. Considering the base rate for a flight is only a little less than other airlines, and if you decide to pay for a reasonably-sized suitcase it's actually more expensive than other airlines, it doesn't make a lot of sense to fly with Spirit. It also feels like they're doing you a favor for even letting you on the plane, rather than grateful for your business. The entire Spirit experience drives me up a wall."

Cons: "The $30 up charge and no cash policy was obnoxious and exceptionally inconvenient. It cost me $47 to check 1 bag. I had to put money on a pay card. The pay card itself cost $5 which caused me to have to out $60 on the card to cover the cost of 1 bag. On top of that, the machine took my money only to tell me that it was out of cards. It turned into a bit of a wild goose chase. The people at the spirit counter took care of it but ended up giving me a blank card after it was all said and done and lost out of my $8 in change."

They were much louder than the three young unattended minor boys on the flight. It sounded like they were having a great time. They were even swapping "funny" stories about passengers from previous flights. I could have slept despite the uncomfortable non-reclining seats on this flight but the flight attendant party made it it impossible. I am sure I was not the only one. Everyone in the back 5 rows was awake. The most unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. On another note, the spirit website that one must use to check in for free is a pain. The mobile version does not work properly and the password reset link doesnt workl"

Cons: "Being in that seat for 3.5 hours was the worst thing I have ever experienced on an airplane. I think I pinched the Vagus nerve in my abdomen and almost passed out on the airplane. I somehow was able to tell my wife that I needed help, she asked for water, they told me it would be $3 and I told them that I needed to go to the bathroom fast because I was very ill. Made it to the flight attendant's seat by the bathroom and sat there for a minute, then was able to open the bathroom door. Sat on the floor of the bathroom for about 5 minutes and was 100% better. Didn't even need to vomit because my circulation seemed to normalize after getting out of that horrible seat. Imagine - sitting on the floor in the tiny bathroom was more comfortable and actually cured me. They get one star out of 10 from my because they gave me free water. Otherwise it would be zero."

What I didn't care for, but what I now understand is all the extra specific charges they continue to bombard you with are really charges you don't need. Bottom line for me is that I think I spent more money because I purchased other things and the final price that I paid was MORE then my the conventional favored airline! I will fly Spirit in the future."

I arrived at the airport with some of the spirit staff sitting down and letting me know that the flight may be cancelled altogether since it was delayed. The woman at the desk in the MSP airport told me that if "ya'll don't sit in your seats fast, the plane will be cancelled." This was after arriving at the airport around 3AM since my flight was delayed. I get it, the tickets are cheap.... but should the experience and hospitality be so cheap as well?"

Cons: "first flight (MSP to Fort Lauderdale) was 3 hours late which caused us to miss our connecting flight (also with Spirit) by 2 minutes because Spirit was unwilling to do what ALL major airlines have done in my experience of the last 30 years of flying. When your own airline has a delay usually the other plane is asked and willing to wait if we are just talking minutes. No options were offered for FLYING to Tampa for the same day. Waiting another 24 hours is not an option when you are booked into a resort for only 4 nights! After waiting in the airport for almost 3 hours on a promised shuttle from Fort Lauderdale to Tampa we finally left. This was supposed to be a quick break in the sun for my son who just lost his dad. What a terrible way to start our quick get-away. Also main stewart was unkind almost rude on the plane. He was teaching a rookie who was very kind and trying to be helpful but was discouraged to do so I have flown much in my life . This was my first and honestly most likely my last time flying with Spirit."

We are only in Arizona for four days and it had everything important in it for us and our baby. The sad thing is that my smaller checked bag was shipped properly but we had nothing important in it. If they hadn't lost our luggage I think my review would be a lot different or our experience would be much better."
