Pros: "Good overall."

Pros: "One of the cabin crew was very kind and friendly."
Cons: "No entertainment, seats hardly went back, no place to charge any device"

Cons: "Everything could have been better. The terminal out of Charlotte looked like a bus terminal, unacceptable for AA since it is one of their hubs. I understand it was a busy holiday weekend, but the airline should have been better prepared for our arrival. While the pilot did an excellent job in getting us in NY on time after airport delays on departure, AA must have not had enough staff working when we arrived. Customers waited over 30 minutes for bags to arrive, which arrived at a different belt than what had been originally scheduled. There were no AA staff in sight when we arrived in NY either. I will do my best not to fly AA again."

Pros: "The crew was amazing but I was on a United flight since American was late leaving Athens. AA booked me on a later flight from Chicago to San Francisco on United. They issued separate inside seats for my wife and I. United showed me their kindness by putting us together in economy Plus."

Cons: "We did not appreciate the game of needing to pay for seat selection after having already paid for tickets. We were not provided with TSA-PRE despite providing our known traveler numbers in advance. Boarding selection protocol seemed opaque, complex, and geared towards inviting us to pay extra for priority boarding. Before boarding the plane, we were not able to find out whether any food would be served and the extent of what might be provided. After getting on board, we were offered the chance to buy food. The complementary food was a cookie and a few ounces of soda or juice. Movies were available, but not headphones for listening to them. Leg space under the seat in front of us was reduced to make room for life vests."

Cons: "We had five pieces of luggage lost during our flight from the U.S. to Spain. When we arrived in Madrid we were told that all five pieces had been located. When we went to pick them up the next day there were only four pieces at the airport. We were told the fifth suitcase would be delivered when it was located. It's ten days later and there's no sign of the luggage. It has taken multiple phone calls to get the information about the luggage correct. They assure me that they have everything correctly documented and then when I call back they haven't changed a thing. It has been a very frustrating process overall."

They managed to get the others moved stright away but they kept telling me they would reboot it and sometimes it was slow starting up. They rebooted twice and after 2hours 30mins into the 8 hour flight they accepted that it wasn't going to work and they finally asked another passenger would they swap with us. They said that all TV were checked on the ground between flights but this was obviously not the case."

So when you miss an American conection by under one minute they are keeping you on the ground while there on time performance "sores" . Then you enter the American over night accommodation Line and I don't have tell you how unpleasant that is but a 2 hour wait for a free shuttle to the hotel is one of them."

Cons: "Plane delayed 5.5 hrs. Maintenance. New crew. Vomit on floor. Bathrooms broken. All before we board. Then @ gate for 1hr. Cancelled. 1 hr in line waiting to rebook. No shuttle to hotel. 3 hrs sleep. Front door broken at hotel."

Cons: "I asked the woman at the gate prior to boarding if there were electrical outlets on the plane. She looked it up and said, its an Airbus, yes they have outlets at each seat. I didn't worry too much about charging my devices at my layover because I knew I could charge them on the plane. When I got on it was clear that there was no outlets, no video on the backs of seats, no devices being handed out for purchase. Nothing. I'm definitely used to more updated planes, but I would have been ok without the misinformation. I ended up on a 4 hr flight bored out of my gourd—which could have been avoided."

Cons: "Despite arriving more than an hour ahead of time, I had to wait in a long line to get to the ticket counter and by the time I got there the assistant refused to check my bag. I then had the choice of catching another flight standby, possibly not even arriving on the same day, or changing my ticket for an obscene amount of money. I hope to never deal with AA again."

Cons: "PLANE WAS DELAYED TWICE FOR ENGINEERING ISSUES THEN ONCE WE GOT ON THE PLANE AND IT TOOK OFF, THEY SAID WE WOULD HAVE TO FLY BACK BECAUSE THE TIRE WAS MESSED UP, THEN THEY SAID WE WOULD HAVE TO STAY IN THE SKY FOR ONE HOUR TO LET OUT SOME FUEL-WHICH TURNED INTO TWO HOURS, THEN WE WENT BACK AND JUST KEPT GETTING ANNOYED, THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO GIVE US ANOTHER FLIGHT,THEY NEVER DID- THEY GAVE ME NO OPTION OTHER THAN TO STAY IN A NASTY HOTEL, AND GIVE ME A FLIGHT FOR THE NEXT DAY. I MISSED TWO SHIFTS AT WORK, TWO SHIFTS FOR ME IS $500. NEVER AGAIN."

Cons: "I missed my flight in Atlanta heading to LA on my way to Brisbane, Australia on Saturday 16th July. The ground staff wasn't at all helpful in trying to get me on another flight and in fact sent me to Delta! The lady there couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Sadly I wasn't compensated at all and had to pay to re-book the flights on the Sunday 17th. On my return from Brisbane, American Airlines had cancelled my flight to Atlanta as they said I was a 'no show' heading out. Thankfully I was able to get a seat on stand by. So, no I'm not a happy customer."

Cons: "United made our first flight late by not having equipment together, so we run through the Denver airport over a distance of 30+ gates only to find our next flight had left 3 minutes prior. The woman at the desk said, can't help you, go to the help desk. At the help desk they never said sorry, just rebooked us for a flight leaving 6.5 hoursgot later. Here are some food vouchers (which don't work at all of the food places in the airport). Have a good day."

Our friends took unused seats and we used theirs. I told him to calm down and his friends did repeatedly as well. By the time we left the airport we were 2 hours behind."

Cons: "I am young but I am in heart failure and have an artificial heart. I had requested wheelchair service so I didn't overexert myself at the airport and was wheeled right up to the gate. There were two other older passengers in wheelchairs, one on either side of me. When it came time to pre-board flight attendants came up to both men and helped them on board. They ignored me. Then they announced regular boarding. I had to remove my bags from my lap and get up out of the chair and go to the gate to say I needed to preboard. The man looked annoyd and said they had announced it. When I explained how no one came to me but they did the others he said I could go now. I said I needed help with my bags and he acted VERY surly and put out. He did help me but I felt like they assumed because I was young I couldn't possibly be sick and treated me like a liar."

Cons: "Flight got 4+ hours delayed due to mech issues so I was late to work the next day and they thought it safe enough to still use the messed up plane to go on a 6hr cross country journey once they fixed the problems they've never witnessed before. Crazy I want my money back."

Cons: "Our flight got canceled due to airport issues at our destination. United canceled the flight but had no alternative flights to get us home. Flights the next day were full. Took over an hour with the service desk to reroute tickets to cancel them and to get bags back then took two hours at baggage claim to get the bags back. Customer service was basically useless. After all that, we didn't get any of our money back! I will be avoiding United airlines. Flight cancelation was not their fault but the way they handled the rest of it was embarrassing."

Pros: "The young lady who was the flight attendant was very nice and tried to make a very bad situation somewhat bearable. There were a number of children on the flight that she was very attentive to. I hope united treats their employees better than they treat their passengers."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for 4 hours. We were told to proceed to the United terminal in spite of the delay. There seemed to be no effort to inform or assist us. There was very little to do in this terminal but wait to see if our flight would eventually come. There were other United passengers in the terminal who were also waiting for overly delayed flights. eventually, we had a plane that was extremely small, cramped and uncomfortable. United seems to consistently oversell its seats and then tried to get people to give up their seats. Very poorly managed airline with bad customer service. Sadly, I have to say that I have never had an acceptable experience on a united flight. Will NOT take another United flight."
