I was at the terminal an hour prior at 9am when there was no line to check in or even at security but they turned me away. I rescheduled my flight and had to pay a lot extra to do so. I stayed at the airport to make sure I wouldn't miss it and the crew doesn't even start setting up until an hour prior... they don't start boarding until 30 minutes prior.... so they 100% sold my seat and then charged me to rebook it. They turned me away when I could have been at the gate 50 minutes prior, well before boarding"

At the time of check in the only seat left available was an exit row so I could not proceed. Also, their airplanes are not equipped with Wi-Fi - quite unfortunate when you're flying 16 hrs from HK to NYC!"

Pros: "Happy to have goodnight on the flight. Was scared to fly on such a long flight because I'm a decent sized guy. I was even more afraid when I realized I was out in a middle seat. However, the seats are relatively spacious, even in economy and my knees weren't hitting the back of the seat in front of me. I also appreciated that we could get up to grab water or juice at any time during the flight."

Pre-takeoff service of water and juice or champagne was only give to one side of the premium cabin, and when I asked if they would complete it for the other side after take-off was told no. I'm used to Cathay taking our orders and being back what we ask for for a premium experience, however on this trip they just brought everything on carts and asked people what they wanted on the spot, offering no suggestions. Overall the service on this CX 889 flight seemed to be severely underpar for what I expect from Cathay"

Pros: "Cathay Airways offer spacious leg room and a very polite and helpful staff. Cathay prefer to board passenger based on their sitting locations than their ticket class which makes more sense as the last rows board first and don't clog up the plane. Cathay crew kept pumping out noodles and snacks during the flight. it almost felt like being on an airborne restaurant!"
