Cons: "Ground service (in it's JFK airport desks) of Air China were unsatisfied. It has not been improved for more than ten years."
Pros: "They tried their best to accomodate but didn't do much to make everyone feel treated well."
Cons: "Flight changed three times with different times. In the end we were delayed for 5 hours and missed connecting flights. They offered a $15 food voucher and forced people to sleep together in a hotel room since they refused to let people who came alone have their own room. They rebooked and made it a complete waste of a vacation day while we wait to board a new flight in the middle of the afternoon."
Pros: "Plane was clean"
Cons: "Crew walked around with only water no juice. There was no fruit or refreshments for such a long flight as on other airlines. The two meals had very little meat in them very mediocre Seats very narrow."
Cons: "Plain delayed and connection missed. Should not sell tickets with short overlays."
Pros: "Everything. I love Air China. Great service. Delicious Noodles."

Pros: "The whole experience was unsatisfactory"
Cons: "They were changing my seat around. They lost my luggage. Still not found yet and has all the Christmas gifts I was bringing to my girl friend and her family. My clothes and medicines as well."
Cons: "No vegetarian option, crew spoke little to no English, board was a mess, delayed an hour on tarmac after boarding late, only 4 agents at JFK to check in several hundred people."
Pros: "The crew was pleasant and helpful, meals were adequate with drinks and snacks available between meals."
Cons: "The interior of the plane could use a facelift, the seats were well worn and stained. The movie selection was limited with more than half the choices in Chinese with subtitles too small to read on the tiny seat back screen. Also the headphone jack did not fit properly so I had to constantly hold it in place. Bathrooms were not well maintained."
Cons: "My complaint is against FlightNetwork.com AND Air China for failing to respect the agreement made when my ticket was purchased and the money had been withdrawn. I would like Kayak to be cautious about working with flightnetwork.com because they took my money but did not honor my ticket or register it with Air China. While waiting to speak with an agent at flightnetwork.com, the Air China manager told me he had plans and would not wait for me to help solve the issue. I was left alone at the counter and forced to buy an entirely new ticket from a different carrier last minute. I do not recommend using Air China from NY JFK or the flightnework.com service connected to Kayak."
Pros: "Great flight and entertainment throughout."
Cons: "Everything w this flight was satisfactory. No negatives to mention."
Pros: "Crew efficient"
Cons: "No entertainment, console broken. Ran out of menu item of choice, but alternative was easily digestible."
Pros: "Service was nice and quick. Plane wasn’t too crowded."
Cons: "It was abnormally cold on the plane, which made relaxing difficult."
Cons: "I was already on the airport and about to check in early, so they didn't let me check in because I forgot to put my middle name on reservation. I tried to call kayak and nobody is answering, I also called priceline and they couldn't do anything. They said I have to cancel everything then rebook a new one. So I ended up paying $1300!!! for a new flight and in addition to that I have a penalty of $200!!! For my original flight cost of only $600. And my companion who has the same flight as me didn't take her flight because the agent in Air china said that we could rebook her flight without charge and for the same price. So we ended up paying $1300 for her as well plus again the $200 penalty. So we lost $3000 for just the 2 of us!! I will never fly air china again! Worst day ever!"
Cons: "We were delayed in the plane on the ground for seven hours. I missed my connecting flight by five hours. Worst flying experience I have ever had."
Pros: "Overall ok. Plane was an older model."
Cons: "No wifi for long trips. Very important to me."
Pros: "Flight crew was nice. Seats comfortable. Flight left on time."
Cons: "Food and entertainment need improvement."
Pros: "Staff was friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating and even found me a vegetarian meal even tho my request hadn't gone through. On time and on point."
Cons: "No negatives to report at all!"
Pros: "Food was okay for an airplane and economy class. They weren't generous with alcohol, but they didn't run out like on other China airlines I've flown with."
Cons: "The seats felt especially cramped and hardly leaned back at all (maybe I was able to push the chair back like 2 inches at most) Uncomfortable ride, I know it was only economy, but still seemed more cramped than other airlines economy class sections."
Pros: "Worst flight ever. Delayed 2 hours on the front end. Food was horrible. Plane was freezing. Service awful. No information on the delays."
Pros: "Mr. Zhang helped me a lot. Thanks!"
Cons: "delay for 4 hours from JFK to peking, then we missed connecting flight. We can't find our luggage and services is horrible."
Pros: "Everything was good on and everything we wanted was up to date on the business class."
Cons: "On the last short flight there was business class seats but we were at the very back of the plane."
Cons: "Please see above...All 4 of Air China flights to and from JFK to Beijing & Beijing to Bangkok were delayed... one of them over an hour another over two hours another one over three and a half hours and another one over an hour and a half. Missed even their own connecting flights! The seats were cramped and tight the food was horrible, really quite disgusting. They walkthrough very quickly with a water bottle and cups when I really feel they should mandatory pour you water on such long flights if you are not sleeping. If you do not get their attention they just pass you. They also should conserve and or do recycling they go through a lot of waste of cups, utensils xcetera. The movies they offered were mainly Chinese. The headphones work huge and not adjustable, they kept falling off. Also when I needed to change my flight due to an emergency I was on hold multiple times with several disconnections for a total of over six and a half hours over a two-day time span. Finally got through when I called the insurance company could barely understand there customer service person. They ended up calling me back left a voicemail saying that I was all set for me to call back I went through the whole process again of being on hold for three hours and then get disconnected. When I went to check in and get my boarding pass in Bangkok to fly back they said I didn't have a ticket they pulled me out of line and waited for about a half an hour and they finally printed me a ticket. I also have the experience as to when I was sleeping as most of the plane was sleeping approx 95% there were a whole bunch of Asian people standing up gathered around the restroom talking very very very loudly! I finally called for the attendant and reminded her that I paid for my ticket too and I would like to be able to rest and if she could ask them to sit/quiet down, she did but it only lasted so long... I could hear it completely through the headphones with the music. So if you decide to fly Air China I would definitely make sure that your connecting flights are far apart, pay for business or first class, preorder your meal/ bring your own food, bring your own headphones and do not plan on changing your flight- so don't get hurt on your vacation/travel. Btw.. they don't even serve breakfast or offer coffee... it's all Chinese food either chicken beef or pork with rice or noodle. GOOD LUCK!"
Pros: "Polite and customer oriented flight crew."
Cons: "Food could be better in terms of content/ ingredients. Entertainment choices for non-Chinese oriented movipes/songs were too few."
Cons: "Plane was not climate controlled well."
Cons: "Flight landed late, middle of airport when it's raining, and we had to take the steps down and squeeze into a tiny bus...which also only fit half the flight, so a lot of people got stuck waiting in the rain for a bus after they got off."
Pros: "The leg room and entertainment with the ability to change your devices. They were on time."
Cons: "The air hostess dont know how to speak to passangers professionally at all and they are not knowledgeable in aircraft device recommendations. What they were hitting passangers with are old and out dated. Phones do not interfair with the plane system as that to has computers in them. Just google it and you too will see it's nothing to get worked up over. English skills were poor, transferring in Beijing was horrible, there security is still old school with no common sense at all, a woman acted like she just got out of a dilemma with me and my wife. There directions is there but no assistance you will have to figure it out on your own."
