When we checked in at SLC the agent used my last name, which showed me the extra mile Delta staff will go to make the travel with them professional and curious. The flight left on time and when we arrived in Detroit our bags were already there waiting for us. Couldn't have asked for more!"

They are so strict with liquids that all baby foods had to put in a separate bin and we had to go to another security point for clearance. It took 2.5 hours to go through all that, that is with wheelchair priority! Boarding was horrible at the gate."

Pros: "Even though we had to tax over to the de-Icing pad before we could take off from Philadelphia, we were still in the air by our original departure time. Our flight was accompanied by tail winds that got us to Detroit early giving me plenty of time to make my connecting flight."

Cons: "There was an issue on the bus to take us to the teminal cuz a passenger took another's passenger's backpack which looked exactly the same but they made us wait on the bus til the mix up was settled. A lot of the passengers got frustrated cuz we had connecting flights and the workers by the plane didn't care including the bus driver. We finally went but we almost missed our flight .we had to literally run to the gate to make it."

Gate number was available at the last hour or so, which then got changed. Not just this flight. many flocks of people were running around to find their new gate... also as I mentioned climbing several stories of stairs with carry-on isn't fun! Not on this flight, but on my initial departure from US to FRA, monitors said go to Gate B. I got in line for Gate B as there was some security check, then we were told there was another B?!@ We had to go down and take the bus for that...written.. No where!"

The food smells good, usually, but it isn't that great. The chicken I had was fine, but the side dish (sweet potatoes) wasn't good. The salad had too much radicchio, the soft cheese was too rubbery to cut (spilled my water doing so), the cake wasn't up to German reputation. Also, one flight attendant, got her own suitcase down, at least 5 times, stretching directly above me, with her jacket in my face and never apologizing. My seat wouldn't recline, nor could other peoples. This is why I paid to choose my seat, so I could sleep, more easily but I sat upright the whole time."

Pros: "When my traveling companion suddenly became acutely ill the flight attendants stepped right in and assisted him to an available Business Class area where he could be cleaned up (including changing his soiled shirt to a clean one from the 1st Class supplies) and made more comfortable. They checked on him frequently during the rest of the flight and made arrangements to get us assistance off the airplane in Detroit and through the crowded airport in record time in order to get him to the ER as soon as possible. We are so grateful to them for their caring help during what could have been a very embarrassing situation."

Cons: "My connecting flight was very close in time and even when I told a stewardess while I was exiting the plane, she made no effort to get me any help to arrive at my next gate faster. This resulted in my having to run to my gate after waiting on the long line at customs and I barely made my flight. Had I not been as physically able, I would have missed my flight even at my normal fast-walking pace. This should not have occurred- I should not have to run to my gate from one flight to another especially when I raised this concern to an employee of Lufthansa as well as a customs officer."

In addition, the boarding itself was a mess and the plane departed late. There were no self check-in kiosks with baggage drops so people could have another option besides going to a counter and there wasn't anyone monitoring the line to make sure it was an orderly process. We were early so there wasn't an issue with waiting per se but rather with the process itself."

Oh, and did I mention the part where we had to pay for our checked bags again? 75€ per bag. For me and my wife, that's the equivalent of a third ticket for our flight. May as well had our luggage fly next to us. So rude staff and exorbitant pricing for things that somehow weren't logged through third party. Cheers! (Sarcasm)"

Qhen we went to board the shuttle bus to the tarmac we were.pullednout of the.line and made to wait 25 minutes and ended up.being the last people to board. The BA employee checking us in didn't care that he pulled us and made us wait.... we were very unhappy as to how this was handled."

Cons: "Heavy fog on London pushed my Nice-Heathrow 2h back. They knew about it yet, let us board the plane more or less on time. Once on board they told us we'd stay on ground for 2h, and if anybody wanted to other plans on this new years eve, they had 5minute to get off the plane. I had only 2h transfer time in Heathrow and asked if I got off if I could be rerouted through another hub. The stewardess had no clue, but said this is usually dealt from London and they have more options there, so I staid in plane. It would have been better to know that in terminal where wifi was available and we could have BA customer service give us individual attention."

My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."

Cons: "no wifi on a transatlantic 12 hour flight!!!!"

Cons: "Rather than notify the passengers that our flight would be delayed prior to our arrival at the airport, we waited at the gate for several hours."

Cons: "Because the first flight was delayed I did not end of completing this leg of the trip with Air Canada but instead rode British Airways."

Pros: "The entertainment on board was nice because there were a variety of movies and things to do."
Cons: "The staff were often slow expecially during the boarding process."

Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "The flight was an hour late!"

Pros: "Plane was on time and manned appropriately with a single crew member. Gate checked bag was handled with care."

Cons: "There were several delays before boarding. The communication was poor, the announcements inaudible and the terminal chaotic. The flight had a lot of young children on it. There was an incredible amount of crying and screaming in the last half hour of the flight."

Cons: "my flight was late leaving midland and therefore I missed my flight from houston to toronto NO one at the Houston United airport counters would help me I stood in line at customer service for an hour and a half just so they could tell me to go see some one at the Air Canada to confirm my rebook and that my flight was delayed an hour anyway and I probably could have made it!!"

Cons: "The business class layout on the Boeing 787 was confusing. The seat was narrow and uncomfortable for my 250lb frame and 6 foot 2inch height. There was now head rest for my neck. The air circulation in the center of the aircraft was poor and too hot while my wife across the aisle had good circulation and temperature. The leg room was inadequate as well. Is this Boeing 787 specific? The selections on the movie list were too small."

Pros: "Overall I enjoyed the movies provided. In the three week span I had a lot of the movie choices overlapped. However, I found that there were many options provided that allowed me to find movies I had not seen yet even though they were not released within the past 3-5 years."
Cons: "I felt like I was constantly being bumped sitting in the aisle seat. I also was not a fan of the breakfast options."

Pros: "I didn't get any food or entertainment.. however the staff were very professional, polite, and helpful when needed to be."

Cons: "Bag damaged. No one to report damage to"

Pros: "Crew was fine, food was fine, entertainment was fine."
Cons: "The flight was delayed by an hour, which prompted the agent in Beijing to change my connection in Vancouver to 7 hours later!!! However, when I arrived in Vancouver, I made it to the gate of my original connection hoping to get on anyway, but because the agent in Beijing changed my connection before I left, my original connection was full and I was stuck in Vancouver airport for 5-6 hours. Complete waste of my time and completely unnecessary."

Pros: "waiting on the plane for hours after we arrived to LA wasn't to great. Also it was frustrating to watch the plane get delayed over and over again, the food wasn't too good, the seats felt like cardboard and it was too packed in the plane...but other then that, it was spectacular"

Cons: "Flight was cancelled after we already were sitting in the plane for 1.5 hour."

Cons: "Air canada canceled the direct flight from Calgary to LA as I booked. The replaced flight is indirect one via veccover. I end up needed get up in dark driving from lake Louise to Calgary to catch the flight and got home after 13 hours in total. The reason of the calculation was no enough customer and there was no compensation being offered."

Cons: "The last leg of our entire trip, and it was late. We left about 1.5 hours late and they had trouble getting the gate to the plane when we landed. A long trip home was made even longer. I was very surprised that there were so many issues with timeliness on AC flights. In our outbound to Athens, two of the three flights left late, and they had to rebook part of our trip to accommodate. And the return trip was more of the same. I expected AC to be world-class and it was more like a regional airline in terms of performance."

Pros: "Movies were nice. The flight was comfortable and on time."
Cons: "The flight attendants can be nicer. It seems they were bothered when we ask sth. And it took me half an hour to get the entertainment system to work on my computer ( the plug in wouldn't work) but the crew was nice and let me use an iPad for free. But I think people shouldn't have to pay for entertainment on such a long flight when you can fly other planes that don't make you pay."

Pros: "I survived the flight"
Cons: "The conditions of the plane were terrible. The plane was old and very cramped with sagging seats so close together I could feel the persons knees behind me. There were no screens for entertainment. The food was horrible, and there was no option to buy anything better. The flight attendants were slow with service and even slower to pick up trash. The 2 bathrooms in the back of the plane were dirty and old."

Cons: "Flight was 2 hours late after we already had a 5 hour lay-over. Waiting area quite small for so many flights to US .Felt like the ugly step-sisters."

Pros: "Little turbulence, smooth flight"
Cons: "In flight entertainmento, had to rent a device to watch a movie on an 8 and 1/2 hour flight, there was no tv's on seat backs."

Cons: "I was very disappointed that the airline served absolutely no food to passengers for such a long flight. Other airlines serve meals and beverages to their passengers on trans-Atlantic flights. I doubt I will fly Air Canada again for such a flight, due to the lack of interest and care provided the passengers."

Pros: "It was not a full flight, and I was able to get up and move to an empty row and stretch out. The crew on this trip were AWESOME!!!!! All very nice and helpful."

Cons: "getting off the airplane and no staff or better signs in Calgary to direct me to get my bag, and where to go with it. to customs drop off my bag. and the gate was poorly marked (granted there was construction) but no staff out of the gates in the area where I left from to ask for verification. LONG walk....................."

Cons: "Very rude staff, my flight from Dublin was delayed for three hours on the runway why they fix the leak for the restrooms. Once we landed I had to clear customs in Canada and get to the new flight. They told me when I finally had to make through the airport and through customs that I need to manage my time better and understand and give myself plenty of time to make the flight.. REALLY??? It wasn't my fault that their crappy plane wasn't working right wasn't my fault we were delayed but I need to manage my time better I think they fell and bumped their head!!"

Cons: "No entertainment unless you rented one of their iPads"

Cons: "I will never fly Air Canada between Detroit and Toronto again. Both ways the crew looked exhausted and like they were rather be anyplace but working our flight. Both times they took our carry ons without giving us a choice. For our flight out this was a stressful nuisance because we had to catch a connecting overseas flight. This involved my husband and son going to baggage claim and then having to go back through customs and TSA. The whole point of carry ons is to avoid this. Luckily we didn't miss our international flight but not a good way to begin a trip of a lifetime. Flight was completely uncomfortable and it seemed like no one cared. Should have driven"

Cons: "The gate area was horribly crowded, extremely chaotic and hot."

Cons: "Splitting couples in different seats. The only way to seat together was to pay extra."

Cons: "Captain's announcements were inaudible from the wing seats. Seats very cramped - I'm only 5 feet tall and barely had room for my legs. Also, unable to see safety demonstration as the seat backs were too tall for a short person to see anything but the back of the seat in front of me."

Pros: "flight attendant seemed very kind. I sooo appreciated that the landing was so incredibly smooth. I get motion sick sometimes so that was very nice."

Cons: "3-4-3 economy seating in a 777 that was originally designed for 3-3-3 (2-5-2) makes for really cramped seating. This is in keeping with industry trends, but is regrettable. No brandy/cognac for alcohol selections."

Pros: "A nice short flight: there isn't much to say here, but the flight was smooth."
Cons: "The crewman seemed somewhat pushy. Perhaps a recalcitrant passenger put him in a bad mood."

Cons: "Moving through security and customs in the Toronto airport was incredibly slow, with 4 or 5 checkpoints, all with lines. Staff were polite but there were not enough of them. We almost missed our connecting flight, and our bags apparently did miss it, because they have not yet arrived in Chicago (see previous comments). Air Canada should have seen the problem in terms of timing with the connecting flight and expedited better. Will try to avoid Air Canada in the future, especially if there are connections in Toronto."

Cons: "Delays!"

Pros: "Very friendly, helpful staff. I was traveling alone with 3 children and they placed us with extra seats."
Cons: "No individual screens on in international flight with 3 kids. Luckily they had iPads to rent."
