I bought my son’s tickets 3 months before the flight through an agency just to request flight attendant services. On the day of the flight the agency called me in the morning saying Latam had canceled the flight from Boston and that aid have to drive my son yo New York. I get that the poor communication wasn’t Latam’s fault but I called Latam at least a dozen times to confirm that everything was OK and that my son would still have the flight attendant service and I was told by many different customers services that things were OK but when we got to the airport I had the most horrible time ever. They told me the service was requested but but approved and that my son would have to flight without the flight attendant service and they kept telling me since he’s 12 he didn’t need flight attendant? An international flight for the very first time unaccompanied and they wanted me to just let it happen? It took me over 1 hour of arguing and explaining that I’ve bought the tickets over 3 months ahead of time just to be certain that my son would have the flight attendant services on both ways and they finally told me they’d add the service last minute because they understood that my flight from Boston got canceled. I paid $150 each way and my son did not seat with the other kids nor was supervised during the flights. They simply sat him and disappeared until the flight landed. I cannot believe how ridiculous and irresponsible this was and I really hope to never use Latam’s services again. I DO NOT recommend Latam to anyone. I had the most difficult time ever and I always do everything ahead of time to make sure things go smoothly. The agency where I bought the tickets is located in Marlborough, Ma right in Main st abs I also do not recommend anyone to waste time and money with them. I cannot believe that they waited until the day of the flight to inform me I had to drive 4 hours plus to a different state. Of course it’s my mistake for not have checked but I left the agency with the paper print out with the flight information saying I’d leave from Boston so I trusted it. Not going to happen again. I always bought my international tickets online and never had any problems but since my son was Ma going to travel alone, I decided to use the agency. Horrible experience. I’m so happy it’s over.

I hope there's more room for our legs in Flights longer than 6 hours but I guess that has a cost. The food was excellent and crew very helpful.
ATAM Airlines by far the worst experience I ever had flying. Total disaster from beginning to end. Employees were beyond rude. When you call customer service with simple baggage questions they tell you to ask at the airport or check with your agency. Checking the same documents for every connecting flight, instead of doing it at the beginning of your flight and stamp all your boarding passes. Avoid lines and unnecessary contact with others by making long lines to check the same documents they already checked. If I can avoid this airline, I will sure do so and tell others to do the same.

Cons: "Flight was canceled after I had gone through security and was waiting to board. I received an e-mail from Kayak, but no notification from LATAM. No one was at the gate; waited a long time to speak with a representative. They booked me on the next morning flight from JFK, but sent me to a hotel in Long Island - 1 1/2 by bus that was jammed and overheated. Hotel was old, not kept up and food and service bad. Bus driver could not tell me for sure what time we were going to be picked up in the morning - maybe 6:30 AM? I was told. No one at the gate gave me this information either. I was ready at 6:15 AM and the bus was full. I waited for second bus. No breakfast at the hotel. Flight to Santiago was uneventful and crew during the flight were polite."

Cons: "Terrible terrible food- no TV (really? in 10 years flying to Colombia this was a first) seats were very uncomfortable, no room to move the legs, the seats were super old no room at all. I have traveled with LATAM before and I had good experiences, with no complains. But the flight from Bogota to Miami on may 29th was mediocre and it seems longer than it was. That plane should be used for shorter flights and not a 4 hour international flight. I am not expecting first class seats and 5 course meals. But for the same price I could have used other airlines."

Pros: "Super comfortable seats. First time i've ever been able to sleep on airplane seats because the seats go far enough back that you don't fall over sideways when you sleep. Food was great. The service was wonderful. The airplanes are new, with new technology"
Pros: "Flying on a Boing 787 is wonderful. The overall service from Latam is top quality; the crew was welcoming and very attentive. Food could be improved, specially offering vegetarian alternative for all of the food services. The movie selection could be improved (in variety and vintage). Music selection was very good for my taste."
Cons: "I was unable to choose my seats on line in advance, which created a stressful situation when at check-in we found that my wife and I were not seated together. Fortunately for the first leg of the trip (Santiago-Lima) there was an empty seat by her and I took it; and for the second leg (Lima-Los Angeles) the passenger next to her was upgraded on the last minute and left his seat for me. Latam has great service, but must let customers choose their seats or guarantee assigning adjacent seats to passengers traveling together, The process for servicing of the plane during the stop-over in Lima could be improved. I know it is hard to do minor cleaning, tidy-up, and replacement of pillows & blankets while many passengers remain on board, but at least there should be an announcement describing what the passengers are to expect during the stop-over."
