Pros: "While many other airlines are cutting down on their service quality and amount of food on their flights, Japan Airlines has done the reverse: offer excellent food and great service at every tier, including economy. Pros: "The staff were awesome. The facilities were good."
Pros: "Roomy seats on JAL flights - their actual airplanes. Horrible when they codeshare with american and use American Airlines planes."
Cons: "They have to take the prize for having the absolute slowest customer service in the world. When I booked my tickets, I emailed customer service to make sure I didn’t get a center seat. It took them two months - TWO MONTHS - to email me back, to tell me there was nothing they could do. I also had to be reticketed on my flight from Tokyo to Hanoi. It took them 3 1/2 hours to do this. I had to sit in the airport for 3 1/2 hours to get my ticket changed. Unbelievable. They could’ve chiseled it in stone faster than they issued it."

Cons: "Have taken several JAL flight the last 1 year and this flight was significantly worse than the last few. Especially the meals."

Pros: "Great meal compared to other local airlines. Comfortable."
Pros: "Seats are extremely comfortable even in economy. Service was attentive and very gracious. Both meals were above average for airline food. Made a 12 hour flight seem much shorter!"
Pros: "The seats were quite small but other than that it was a nice flight. The crew was very nice."
Pros: "JAL work ethics are what the Japanese excel at, so there's not much to complain about."
Cons: "The same as most other airlines, the seat width and pitch has been getting smaller. Even with seat by the aisle, my elbow sometimes bumped inadvertently a wayward flight attendant."
Cons: "Why does the shorter of the two flights have more comfortable seats?"
Cons: "Never make it on flight because the connection flight so messed up. Need to purchase new ticket with different airline finally."
Pros: "service is great!"
Pros: "Arrived on time"
Cons: "Slow check in at the airport"
Pros: "This was an AA flight.I never expect excellent service from AA."

Pros: "Economy seats were extremely comfortable and roomy. What a difference that makes."
Cons: "Movies available tended to be either action/terror/suspense, or old movies. Very few real dramas."
Pros: "Once I made it through the long line at check in everything went very well. Check in was a bit of a nightmare since Air Busan is shared with Asiana Airlines."

Pros: "Excellent customer service!"
Pros: "The boarding was efficient. Cabin and lavatories were clean."
Cons: "The interior seems dated, with old-school channel based entertainment system, unlike the ondemand IFE most Asian airlines are equipped with. Meal service was also very slow - took over 50 minutes to serve the economy cabin. There was no choice of main available.. Main was an array of fish cakes type street snacks. It was edible but not impressive."
Pros: "Flight was on time and clean."
Cons: "They missed by special meal once."
Cons: "Freezing in the cabin that morning."
Cons: "Ran out of the best meal option in Business Class..."
Pros: "Very good on time, comfortable."
Cons: "The food. Skip the cup of noodles."
Pros: "The entertainment selection was great and the seats were comfortable."

Cons: "Fatigue from job"
Pros: "See above for overall summery both AC and Jaz."
Cons: "Not sure which screwed up on bags."
Pros: "staff was great checkin at the airport was a breeze and love the 2 checked free luggage for international flights. food was mediocre but what do you expect, I'm just glad we got 2 meals and 2 snacks. great touch."
Cons: "only issue was the fact the online checkin was unavailable to us for some reason which basically left my girlfriend and I sitting in separate rows in between 2 people for 17 hours. entertainment was also pretty lacking with only a few movies available."
Pros: "They seemed like a good airline. It was my first time flying with them, and I got upgraded to business class on the very first flight of my trip. What a great first impression! They're quite service oriented, with attendants speaking multiple languages. The in-flight magazine was good but not available on every plane. The food was usually pretty good, and the live map was convenient."
Cons: "All of the flights were late (I had 6 of them on this trip, all thru Air Canada, and not a single one departed on time). All of my layovers were long, except one, which was planned to be about an hour but ended up being less than 30min. That one was a pain: had to go through Canadian customs and then run across the Toronto airport, but thankfully my next flight was still boarding - and ended up running late because they had to de-ice the plane. One of the flights ran late, and as we were reaching the gate a passenger felt the need to yell racist/ignorant comments at a fellow passenger who wouldn't sit down, and then the flight attendant - overall that was a real shame."
Pros: "The boarding started one hour early to allow passengers to board on time."
Cons: "A flight stewardess did not respond to a call twice as if the call light was not turned on."
Pros: "Cheap air fares"
Cons: "Could not use airline websites to select seats due to using a third party agent like kayak. Had to call both Alaska Air and Air Canada before I could secure seats."
Cons: "Food was served and drinks only arrived after you finished your meal. This happened for all meals."
Pros: "Good price, clean, free movies, descent movie selection."
Cons: "Bring your own snacks. No gluten free options unless pre-arrange. No fruit, no peanuts, no option to buy food, and the snack gallery only had pretzels. If you like bread, butter and water, should be ok. Close seats, can feel movement of people beside and behind."
Pros: "Great value for the money, friendly staff."
Pros: "I loved the entertainment options, especially that we could pull up the map & see where we were."
Cons: "Online information was confusing & made it sound like we had to pay for our carry on, so we didn't bring a carry on (just personal item). It needs to be more clear."
Cons: "I booked this flight a couple months ago to find no seat assignment which should be booked at Chechen but was not. Then I was given the back seat against the wall which does not recline. There were standby people on the flight who got much better seating than I. I seemed to get the last consideration. I am treated much better on other airlines with much less early booking. also later after take of it was made known to me there were empty seats further up in the cabin. When I email Air Canada they said they would get back to me within 30 days about my concerns."
Pros: "Crew was kind, helpful, respectful."
Cons: "Not very comfortable."
Pros: "Nice crew- efficient boarding"
Cons: "One bathroom for all of economy. Poor snacks. No chance to get electronic boarding passes"
Pros: "Flight was quick, service was great, clean lavatories."
Cons: "Would've appreciated more legroom, but the same can be said for just about any airline."
Pros: "Nothing to like, just fair"
Cons: "3 toilets broken, unfriendly crew, disorder on bording, brake my luggage, I think is enough to unlike them"
Cons: "Seats are small and these are the regular seats"
Pros: "Crews were very nice. I also liked biscuits."
Cons: "Ground staff was not as nice as the crews."
Pros: "I liked the flight crew. They were very friendly and attentive."
Pros: "Crew were reasonably patient, but rather impossible to please passengers with type of flight and discomfort."
Cons: "One bathroom for all of the plane? Perhaps 1st class (tiny) has its own bathroom, but otherwise, the aisle was 10+ people in-line for the ENTIRE flight, as 1 bathroom. Really miserable for all concerned. Seats are too tight, entertainment system works only some of the time, seats old and uncomfortable. Did not seat family together (flight full). Overall, one of the worst long-distance flights I have ever had. Should not fly this kind of plane with this many people and not enough facilities."
Pros: "Plane was clean and offered a nice variety of food and snacks"
Cons: "Every flight was late boarding and arriving."
Cons: "They lost my luggage!!!"
Pros: "Preferred seating was comfy"
Cons: "2 couples travelling together were assigned 4 seats I opposite ends of plane, no two together and no chg option. Discovered that seat next to my spouse was just assigned minutes before boarding. CSR at AC on phone was rude and unhelpful, boarding staff offered no help either."
Pros: "Flight crew was great. Aircraft was great."
Cons: "Food could have been a little better."
Cons: "1 bathroom for entire coach class? Consistent line of 4-5 and sitting in the back meant someone standing next to me. Turbulence mandated seating generated overt unhappiness from many passengers."
Pros: "Generous seating. Decent food."
Cons: "Was not told a transit visa was necessary to fly through Canada. Denied boarding in Nairobi on way over and had to book on another airline."
Pros: "Crew, entertainment, food was 3/5 not many options (I liked it more than not)"
Cons: "No wifi, food selection wasn't really optional and it felt like school lunches"
Pros: "Newer plane, clean bathrooms for most of the flight. Good food choices for meals."
Cons: "No amenities like eye mask, ear plugs, toothbrush etc. No snacks between meals except for pretzels. Armrest buttons get pressed all the time by accident."
Cons: "Checking in was horrible. Lady at the counter was not helpful at all. Although my main carrier for the international flight allowed 2 checked baggage free of charge, Air Canada only allowed one free baggage and 2nd baggage for $100 for the connection."
Pros: "Glad for this new route. Will make Europe easier to access from PDX."
Pros: "The entertainment was great though the sound quality was lacking. The movies with subtitles were better."
Cons: "The did was pretty dire. Cup of noodles was not a good lunch at all and they ran out of the breakfast and lunch options."
Pros: "Most things where fine. Slight delay in boarding but still made our connection."
Cons: "Tried to signal stewards for another beverage but got no response. Lack of customer service."
Pros: "The plane was clean and comfortable."
Cons: "It's a long flight, unless you are flying first class it's not going to be amazing."
Pros: "The choice in entertainment The flight attendents New plane"
Cons: "Flew on a new BOEING 777-200LR. They decided to maximize the amount of passengers per flight by adding additional seats to each row causing very cramped conditions. I am only 5'8" at 160 lbs and was extremely uncomfortable the entire trip. I may have had an extra inch of room from my knee to the chair in front of me. I couldn't stretch my legs out at all."
Cons: "The flight was 4 1/2 hours late with no prior notification."
Pros: "Great food and overall service for premium economy. Seats were more comfortable than economy I've had in the past."
Cons: "In-flight entertainment computers are extremely laggy compared to modern tablets. Air Canada should make friends with the Google and Apple's of the world. Should try to include more episodes of the tv shows rather than just a select few episodes."
Pros: "I was very kindly provided an upgrade and seat beside was empty, it was a great flight. thank you!"
Pros: ".... the very logical humane boarding, special attention to kids and older citizens."
Cons: ". no vegetarian options.... nothing outstanding or comfort feel... nothing that would make me choose the airline as a preference over others ~ other than the price"
Cons: "Our preceding flight arrived 45 minutes late so we got bumped to a later flight. Air Canada dropped the ball completely"
Pros: "Everything went smoothly from beginning to end."
Cons: "It was a packed flight and it felt like I couldn't breath on the flight at times. I was stuck between two very big people."
Pros: "The attendants were really on to of everything. They checked on me at very regular intervals and asked if there was anything else I would need often. The did was really good in premier economy seating and that seats were comfortable."
Cons: "There was not a good way to check in online for my flight as I am not specifically a member of air Canada miles, however I am a star alliance member which they honor. It just does not allow you to check in online and preselect your seats. Also the booking did not take into account my known traveler number so I did not receive tsa pre check clearance like I normally would have."
Pros: "Food was great, seat was comfortable, bathrooms much better designed. Overall cleaner and nicer aircraft."
Pros: "Kayak's reasonably priced tickets"
Cons: "No in-flight entertainments in the equipment (plane)"

Cons: "The Asian vegetarian meals are tasteless and only one snack — pretzels— available"

Pros: "There wasn't any delays. We even got to destination earlier"

Cons: "Can't fit in seat"
Pros: "Everything from check in to breakfast to boarding was smooth and effortless at PDX. The restaurants are layed out in a smart configuration with plenty of options on either side of security. The staff are friendly and the travelers in the airport are generally personable and in a good mood, which is a stark contrast to the majority of the nation's airports."
