It was great

Read more about Frontier

It was great

I’m sure it’s due to Covid but I feel the staff could have been more friendlier. They seemed very shy but overall they were very pleasant and nice

Flight was quick and on time.

Late departure. Waited on tarmac for over 20 minutes upon arrival. ZERO beverage service. Three thumbs down.

Extra row seats are comfortable and spacious. Flight was delayed

Waited 8 hours to board for a 1 hour flight, ridiculous

Things were cool. No entertainment or water

Flight was delayed.

Pros: "I was surprised that the flight was completely full despite a pandemic"
Cons: "The seats were not super comfortable, nor did they recline. No snacks, drinks or even a small bottle of water was served. We thought that the seating arrangement would take Covid 19 into consideration, & have the passengers spread out a little bit, but no, it was a full flight, we were sitting right beside other passengers, both on the outgoing flight & the return flight. We dislike that there is a fee for carry on luggage."
Cons: "It would have been 100 times better had we been able to chose our own seats instead of suffering through a 5 hr flight next to someone feeling disgusted of your child the entire time. Deplaning the aircraft took way more time than it should. First and last time flying Frontier."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Flight attendants continued to over serve drunk passengers in row 17 18 and 19. Two large parties came into the plane hammered. One spilled a drink on me while his buddies from across the aisle hit me in the eye with an empty liquor bottle screwing around. Another member of their party got up to go to the bathroom while we were landing. Flight attendants did nothing to accommodate me or the other 100 people pissed st the clowns. Last time I fly frontier most likely. I’ll be calling corporate shortly. Like to know why they continued to over serve them?"
Pros: "Modern planes. Good on board crew."
Cons: "2.5 hour delay, no explanation why."
Pros: "Flight was promt, on schedule, and boarding was quick and easy"
Cons: "Not many snack choices, cramped"
Pros: "Quick boarding, but I think it was just so that they we not fined by the FAA"
Cons: "My flight was delayed over FOUR HOURS! My flight was supposed to take off at 2:53 pm and we didn’t leave SFO until 6:39 pm! I received a text message at 9 am telling me that the flight was delayed until 4:05 pm....okay, no problem, I had not left for the airport yet, so no biggie. At 10:48 am, I received another text that the flight was delayed until 3:35 pm...still not a problem. A couple of minutes later, another text. My flight is now on time. Still no problem, because I usually add in 30 minutes in case Murphy of Murphy’s law shows up and throws a wrench into things. I get to the airport with plenty of time to spare & clear security... then get a new text notification at 2:08 saying that the flight is delayed for FOUR HOURS!!! Are you kidding me? On top of that, the customer service representatives made an announcement that there was a maintenance problem with the original airplane and a new one was enroute to take up the slack. They said this as a statement and offered no apologies or sorry for the inconvenience. They stayed at the check in desk for an hour, and then left and didn’t come bac until 20 minutes before the plane arrived at the gate. I will NEVER fly this airline again!"
Pros: "Absolutely nothing."
Cons: "You get *1* carry on. A 2nd carry on or checked bag is **$45.** The most unreasonable and expensive bag price in the industry. Highway robbery. Who the hell flies anywhere with only one checked bag? I mean, seriously. It is an unreasonable expectation to put it mildly. Second of all, *you have to PAY to select a goddamn seat.* What the hell? Who the hell does that? *0* other airlines CHARGE you for the pleasure of picking a seat. That is insane. So, that is $18 at a bare minimum to choose the most inexpensive class of seats on the plane. Third of all, **you have to pay for ALL drinks of any kind.* Free water? Hell no. Free sodas, juice, coffee, tea, etc? Hell no. You have to pay for all of it. So then I was dehydrated the whole flight, which was very unpleasant and put me in an even more foul mood. The way they nickle and dime you on this godforsaken airline is criminal. So, To Review, if I had flown round trip it would cost *at a minimum* $18 + $18 + $45 + $45 ($126 goddamn dollars) in fees that no other airline in the industry charges. That is insane; and that happens to be approximately what I paid for my flight. So for all unreasonable charges I could have had a bonus flight somewhere. I will never, ever fly on this godforsaken airline ever again; and please believe I will tell every single one of my friends and (gigantic) family that not only does this crappy airline get 0 Stars from me, but they should under no circumstances ever fly on this horrible airline ever. Pick literally *any* other airline over this hot nonsense."
Pros: "The dirt cheap, I can't believe an airline can operate at this low an airfare and still turn a profit-ticket prices"
Cons: "The hidden checked-baggage fees that were almost half the cost of the actual ticket for one bag. The non reclining seats. The lack of legroom. The feeling of cattle being herded into a slaughterhouse. The lack of friendliness with the RDU and MCO gate/ticket counter agents. The cost of having to pay $12 to ensure I sit beside my 5 year old son on the flight. Besides a free seat belt, having to pay for everything else under the sun. Surprised AC was free. Not even an in-flight magazine or barf bag. Which is exactly what I feel like doing after giving you my money......"
Pros: "I was pleasantly surprised! The plane was clean, spacious (for a plane) and the crew was amazing!"
Pros: "Boarding was fast. That’s the only thing I can say"
Cons: "I did nr like how they charged me $40 for a carry on bag. If I would have known that I would not have booked with them."
Pros: "When I told people I was taking Frontier, they scoffed, rolled their eyes, and joked that I'd have to pay to use the bathroom. Well, it wasn't THAT bad. In fact, I got an assigned seat (in contrast to Southwest). Plane was fairly new, and the seat wasn't too small (then again, not super big). One flight attendant tried to make the atmosphere festive since we were going to Vegas and some people got absolutely shit-faced on the flight. I thought this was kind of cool, but I'm sure some people were annoyed since the drunks got VERY loud. For the price, I would definitely go to Vegas from Indy on Frontier again."
Cons: "1. The guy in charge of the check-in area yelled at one of his employees and humiliated her in front of me. Super awkward. 2. They really do charge for water. OK, I can see charging for a Coke, but water? I thought there was a law saying airlines HAD to provide water on request for health reasons. Then again, I had a huge water bottle from home, so why am I bitching?!"
Pros: "Rather have cost of bags figured into ticket....$45 extra for carry on is a bit too much and didn't make the trip worth anything special!"
Pros: "Payed extra fees"
Cons: "Everything was good until the last flight from Denver to Las Vegas. They let us into the bridge but did not let is into the plane for a while because they just finished cleaning it and was waiting for maintenance to fix a broken chair, which made us stand and wait on the bridge. They should've just waited to let us in until the plane was ready instead of stocking us into the bridge.Additionally, as I was leaving the plane the one of the crew member was arguing with a customer, which could've been handle better."
Pros: "Well, first of all I did not go to Vegas...I ended up going to Detroit instead. I purchased the insurance only to find out you almost have to be dead in order to be able to use it. During my flight to Detroit a passenger had been drinking aboard the plane and police had to come aboard the flight to remove the passenger prior to allowing the other passenger to deplane first. We had to watch that entire ordeal while my loved ones waited at baggage claim to pick me up. The food selection wasn't very appetizing. However, some of the flight attendants were friendly...which made the flight bearable. My relatives fly frontier all the time and recommended I use them and I did, but I'm not sure I'll ever fly frontier again."
Cons: "A lot!"
Cons: "No one at the counter before the flight. Everyone was at the gate. I lost my flight and you wanted to charge me anotyer 100 dollars. And i had ti catch a flight frim Orlando and had ti drive myself there. They lost my baggage as well .first night in vegas was ruined by Frontier Airlines. Did not know that I needed my pool sticks to play ahead of purchase new pool sticks they cost $1,200 and I had a purchase 1 days worth of clothes unreal never experienced anything like this such a horrible Airline"
Pros: "The attractive fare."
Cons: "Long delay on return flight."
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "I was stopped at loading & forced to pay 60 for my carry on even though I checked early online & it showed I had paid 40 for my bag. It was misleading, also checked with a Frontier staff at check in desk & she confirmed I was ok. "Supervisor" at gate was very rude & turned & walked away while I was asking a question & trying to show her my email receipt. I have never gotten sick on an airplane before but I did on all my Frontier flights & there was no air sickness bags in seat. This trip was ridiculous from the start as my flight was changed from non stop direct to overnight layover in which I had to purchase a Hotel room as well as all the extra fees taken after purchase. Frontier is not "cheap" at all. And worst customer service I've ever dealt with."
Pros: "The initial price was great. The direct flight was fantastic. No wasted airport time."
Cons: "I paid an extra $16 because I thought I had to pay for my seat. It was an emergency aisle so I got more leg room, but my seat didn't recline at all. It was impossible for me to sleep during my 3 1/2 hour flight to Las Vegss. Each bag you brought must be paid for whether it was checked or carry on. My original ticket price was $241. With the $60 bag fee and $16 additional seat fee ( I did not reserve one on the way home, so there was no additional charge for that direction). My total was $317. I would have preferred a larger airline with reclining chairs and free movies."
Pros: "The seats were spacious"
Cons: "When I went to check-in for my flight and get my boarding pass, the Frontier employee at the counter asked if we had paid for carry-on bags online. We said no and she looked at our bags and said we were fine. When we got to the gate however, I was stopped and told that I needed to pay for my bag. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I explained that their employee at check-in told us we did not need to pay for a carry-on. They still forced me to pay AND tried to charge me the gate price of $60 which I refused to pay. If they were going to charge me for a carry-on, they should have made that clear at the ticket counter where I would have paid $45. They were incredibly rude about it and it seemed like a scam they had planned out to try and get $15 more out of passengers."
Pros: "Nothing abt it"
Cons: "I have traveled many places and have NEVER encountered such horrible service in an airport as I did at your Orlando airport / Frontier counter. I checked hours before was in the airport and long lines an hour and 1/2 before flight leaving and due to your Frontier agents at this counter I was unable to board. This happen to more than one passenger in line with me. This agent continued to argue with me rolling her neck and head at me rather than get me to t gate with an available half hour before take off. There was vomit at the counter which they refused to call anyone to come and clean up but overall NO ONE was on task. I will dispute the extra charges I have incurred due to this fiasco and will NEVER fly Frontier Airlines again."
Pros: "price."
Cons: "They lost the full planes worth of baggage at the arrival in Denver, we waited over an hour and a half for the luggage, while other flights arrived, got their bags and left. Attendant kept coming over the intercom saying they were looking for the bags from our flight. Once on the plane and the doors shut, passengers were not allowed to move to an empty row, because they said we did not pay for other seats in coach, so had to sit cramped in seats while multiple rows were empty or had only one passenger for the 3 seats."
Pros: "Like, it was a first time experience . Notone wewill repeat. First off chrck in was not available until two hours before departure no one was at the counters when issued a ticket from an attendant she acknowledged my carry-on but said there was no fee to pay when called to board the plane the agent told me to go back to the counter and register my carry-on I did not understand and was irritated when we paid a fee of $45 for that carry-on we were able to board no complementary beverages or water were offered on a two hour and 45 minute flight . It seems like and nickeled and dime operation sorry but hard backseats are not the way I want to travel so very mediocre"
Cons: "at 4:30 pm I had a text alert that the flight was delayed by 8 hours yet there was nothing done to replace crew who were going over their max hours. The pilot and both stewardess told different stories. At 1 am in the morning they claimed they were looking for replacements. It is bad enough having a flight canceled and having to drive 840 miles or wait up to 2 days to be rescheduled....but to have blatant lies told was even worse. Then cancel due to weather...when that was not the case..so baggage fees cannot be refunded. The baggage fees were almost as much as the airfare."
Pros: "$49 price for ticket from Pittsburgh to Las Vegas. (WARNING: uncomfortable seat only, doesn't include any baggage)."
Cons: "The seats are very uncomfortable. They are smaller than before and the airline claims they are "pre-reclined." The boarding process is poorly organized (should fill from back to front). The staff is not friendly. Food costs, they claim you can't consume your own alcohol, and they begrudgingly give you water if you press them. When the plan landed at the exact time the pilot predicted 4.5 hours earlier, they told us that we were "early" and kept everyone waiting with seatbelts fastened. In fact the crew frequently abused the seatbelts fastened light during calm air. Don't fly Frontier unless it is severely cheaper; the experience is terrible."
Pros: "The flight was on time and the crew was friendly"
Cons: "The check in process was PAINFUL! The check in staff, only two ladies, were there by 4:30 but could not check in our bags until 5am, resulting in lines. Two staff members for everyone was not enough and one of them kept taking off to do something else, leaving only one person to check in. The Baggage Only line received way more attention, forcing the rest of us to wait longer even through we were line FIRST. You should take direction from Allegaint! I flew from Vegas to Fresno a few days later and their check in service was exceptional!"
Pros: "The efficiency of the boarding process. It was organized and fairly expedient."
Cons: "The exorbitant additional fees. Absolutely absurd to charge for a seat and carry-on luggage in addition to the plane ticket itself. My carry-on suitcase is HALF the size of the traditional size and paying $30 to bring it on the plane is insulting. The chairs were uncomfortable. They don't recline, no head rest, and no blankets were on board which made resting for my 5 hours across the country EXTREMELY uncomfortable. For all the extra fees you'd think a movie and some snack packs might be available. Then again, with the trays too small to fit even my mini iPad, there'd be no place to put them. No in-flight entertainment was a bummer too. I've usually been so happy on Frontier. Bit this experience will keep me from flying Frontier ever again."
Pros: "It was SUPPOSED to be a round trip. I arrived at LAS an hour before departure, and tried a kiosk. It advised me that I needed to see an agent. I get in line. 19 minutes later, I am informed that even though the plane is still at the gate, I missed the 45 minute deadline, and cannot board. The agent will not help me to book another flight, but gives me a paper with an 800 # on it. I am told that all of the next days flights are sold out. I managed to get a $287 flight t 6 am the next day, on a different carrier. When I arrived at Ohare for the return leg, I was charged $40 , for my carryon. When I expressed my displeasure at the charge, I was told that Frontier was a low cost operation and should not be surprised that I would pay more for extras. My response to that is "When did customer service become an extra, for which I should be charged?" I have found your corporation to be an overpriced low service airline, a soulless company intent on squeezing every cent out of each transaction, while providing even less than the bare minimum to the sucker who buys a ticket."
Pros: "We landed safely"
Cons: "The flight crew was atrocious. They were rude when they spoke to us and when I asked for refreshments they turned around as if to get them for me and then the lady sitting next to my husband had to get their attention again to ask a second time if I could have water and Chex Mix so I could take my medicine. I have serious health conditions and I couldn't even get water without paying $3 a bottle. It is disgusting to me that we are charged for flight and then charged for Refreshments during that flight. Any other Airline who charges for a seat to take you to your destination includes at least drinks and nuts for free but not you."
Cons: "The flight was delayed a few hours. It took forever to Get out of the gate. It took an hour once we landed to get in the gate and deplane. I was given a seat on the computer and then when I got on the plane there were two people with same seat. The floors and seats were unbelievably dirty as well. I have never seen so much trash and crumbs everywhere. It was an awful experience. Our trip to Vegas the first night was ruined because we were planning to see a show Thursday evening and landed two hours late and could have possibly made it but we sat on runway for an hour before deplaning."
Pros: "The flight crew on plane was great."
Cons: "On my flight to Denver, was never mentioned on anything about paying for my carry on. But on the way back to Las Vegas. They stopped us and was very rude about having to pay. Using the "they should have charged you the first time" I think its crazy to be charged for a carry on, if they charged me one way and not the other then i feel someone was not doing their job. But it was how rude the lady manager was when I also only had cash on me. They wanted to charge me an extra $5 to go do a pre paid card. this was 20 mins before flight left. They must get on the same paid either charge both ways or no way. especially $60 per bag"
Cons: "While I am thankful that we made it back to the airport after some mechanical issues. I called Frontier and ask them to get me on a different flight that night or first thing the next morning. They would not help me. They kept telling me I had to talk to the agents in the terminal. There were 200 other people standing in line waiting to be helped. They offered no alternative. Wouldn't even book me with another airline to get me to my destination. The best Frontier customer service on the phone would do was changed my flight to Saturday night. Which did not good since I was coming back from my trip on Sunday."
Pros: "Hard to come up with anything honestly."
Cons: "Service at the gate was unprofessional. Customer service rep was arguing with crew members and pilot. A family of five were all separated throughout the plane and asked if there was anyway they could sit together. CS rep just shook her head and said no. Ultimately I offered up the seat I paid for so the mom could be closer to her kids and ended up sitting in the back of the plane in a completely empty row. Could the rep not have looked it up and seen there was an empty row and made accommodations for this family?? I shouldn't have to be the one looking out for YOUR customers. They don't pay my salary...they pay yours."
Pros: "Cheaper than the other airlines."
Cons: "If you don't prepay for your checked bags online, they charge you more at the ticket counter for no reason. The Web site is very buggy and full of errors. It took forever to prepay for our checked bags. We even had to call their online support staff because their Web site is so full of bugs. They also charge even more for a carryon bag than a checked bag -- which is ridiculous -- so the entire overhead bins were empty. Insane. A few of the ticket counter staff were lazy rude utter morons. Others were helpful. The planes seem very old. The seats are uncomfortable and small. No entertainment system. Every little thing has an exorbitant cost -- including coffee or coke -- on a 4 hour flight. It's cheap ---- but not cheap enough for the horrible experience and lack of service and lack of quality or comfort. Buses are much more comfortable."
Pros: "For starters, the Crew was AWESOME !!! An attendant asked if I was military, I wear an Air Force cap my daughter gave me when she graduated. I said no, and explained it was my daughter's and she thanked her for her service and me for supporting her choice. A few minutes later an attendant asked if I would follow her, they had a different seat for me, she said. At first I thought I had the wrong seat. I stand 6ft 3in and about 270 lbs. economy seating is kinda cramped for Me. She directed me to a seat that had knee room and thanked my daughter for her service and me for supporting my daughter's choice to serve Our Country. This action just strenghtens my loyalty to Frontier Airlines and will continue to travel with you all I can. My trips with Frontier Airlines has always been a Good experience. This one was special because Your Crew of Attendants made it Special for Me. They are Real and Professional people. Let them keep doing what they're doing because it's working, for Me anyway. Thank You very Much"
Cons: "Just when you thought airline travel couldn't get worse, Frontier brings you hard seats that don't recline and tray tables about half the size of a sheet of paper. Want a real seat? No problem--pay more. Want what they call a "laptop-friendly" tray table? No problem--pay more. And don't expect to use TSA Pre-check: Frontier doesn't participate. By the time you've paid to bring luggage on your trip--whether checked or carry-on, it costs--you've racked up a cost you could have used to fly a real airline. Pretty soon they'll be charging extra to fly on a plane with wings. And then their website was down all morning when I needed to check in. I used to fly Frontier a lot. Never, never, never, never again."
Pros: "We arrived in Las Vegas 20 minutes early."
Cons: "1.) We sat on the runway in Vegas for 15 minutes waiting for a gate to open. 2.) They charged me to select a seat. 3.) They charged me to CARRY ON a bag ($45!) 4.) They don't participate in TSA Pre-check 5.) There was no organized line-up for each separate boarding group. 6.) I was seated next to a baby that screamed for 3 of the first 4 hours flight time w/o flight attendants doing anything to help the dumb-ass dad who neglected to bring a freaking binky w/him! I guess maybe I'm just spoiled by the FAR SUPERIOR service of Southwest Airlines. Last time I let someone else book my flight on another airline!"
Cons: "Frontier's baggage policy is such a rip off and comparatively over priced. They allow 1 checked bag for 40$ whereas American Airlines and others charge 25$ a bag. For carry on items Frontier charges 60$(!) We were two passengers with each allowed a carry on item. After paying for our 2 bags, we were about to board when the lady at the boarding gate insisted on having us pay for our carry on ( whilst they clearly say one carry on item per person ). We were threatened with being kicked off the flight if we didn't pay for the carry on. Other passengers were also subjected to this behaviour. Never flying Frontier again. Rude boarding attendant, and a rip off baggage policy."
Pros: "Text message notifications of flight delay, considering my flight was delayed multiple times, quickness of boarding, and short wait times at the ticket counter"
Cons: "The carry on baggage fee that I was informed of as I was boarding, causing delay to other passengers while other guests and myself are waiting to pay for a bag, or forced to throw items away. There is no reason for a carry on bag the size of a backpack to cost $30. I understand most airlines have started charging these fees now, but it is ridiculous to get to the airport and have to pay for every bag. I can buy a flight for $54 and end up paying twice that much just in baggage fees. Also why do the room in the seats seem to get smaller every time, no headrest, and I can barely fit a book on my tray table. A few money saving techniques male the flight that much less comfortable"
Pros: "Flight crew pleasant, even making sarcastic comments about the cheapness of their airline. For example, "If you don't like our service, there are 8 emergency exits on this plane." We arrived safely and our bags got there too!"
Cons: "It was a tough day due to weather delays and cancellations, but the airport crew was overwhelmed and failed to control the massive crowd. At one point, service members started calling out destinations and it became a free for all. Passengers jumped over each other and across the ropes to cut in front. Elderly and children were pushed aside. At the gate, it was announced "in 15 minutes, we will ask passengers needing help to board", followed immediately by another crew member "we are already boarding all passengers!", then right back to the first crew "we are not boarding yet, we will start boarding in 15 minutes". Confusion! Departure was listed on time, but we really left 40 minutes late."
Pros: "Nothing really."
Cons: "Frontier advertised cheaper fares but when all the nickel and diming is done (like the baggage fees, seating fees, in flight drink fees) your better off spending a little more up front with another airline than falling for their cheaper fares. They try to sell you 'a roomier seat' but delivery seats which reminds me of public transit. They don't recline and they also don't have a tray large enough to accommodate a laptop!! Hard plastic covered in vinyl with fancy stitching. Try sitting for 4 hours on that! Southwest is a much better choice."

For the price is perfect

This flight was the worst I've ever had,and also will be never thinking about booking with this company again , sucks

Cons: "Wifi"
Pros: "They were on time."
Cons: "There was a fee or charge for EVERYTHING. The difference in price for the next least expensive flight more thsn made up the difference in feees ( baggage $65, carry on $65, better seat $25 but no guarantee- no free water, sift drink, or cofffe. No snacks. Everything was charge and expensive The Seats were small with no leg room and no recline option. One of the most uncomfortable rides ever. No entertainment option I guess if I was only going a short flight it’d be ok but still never a 1st chioice And remember cheap airlines means kids will be on board"
Pros: "I was told that I've been checked in but still have to join a terribly slow queue."
Cons: "That we were not offered even cold water."
Pros: "The stuetist."
Cons: "I used the kiosk to check in. But I still had to wait for everyone in line to drop my bag. We waited 14 minutes. Then the lady was talking to her coworker and not us. We spent 30 minutes just checking in before security. Then our seats were suppose to be together. After talking with the guy at the gate to get our seat assignments. We were sitting on opposite sides of the plane. So much for our anniversary trip together. I purchased 2 tickets together. So we would be next to each other. Worse flight experience."
Cons: "This company is a scam. You pay a extra fee for everything Printing your boarding pass that will be $10. oh wait you want to take a carry on bag that will be $45. You want to check in a bag that will be $45. If you do decide to check in a bag or a carry on make sure the demensions and weight is correct there will be another fee for any luggage that doesn’t fit their rules. Make sure you get a drink in the airport ahead of time because once again they charge for standard drinks while on the plane, the extra charges just never stop! In all reality it is not worth the savings in plane ticket because of all the additional inflated prices they get you on."
Cons: "The worst experience in my life, I showed up a hour early, only 2 kiosks that work to check in. The rude lady directed me out of line to use the kiosk again instead checking me in, so I couldn't miss my flight. You could obviously tell it was my first time. So I missed my FIRST flight for my 30th birthday. Their only rebuttal to my dilemma was "you should have show up 2 hours early". A horrible experience I will never forget. The human that don't display common courtesy for his or her fellow man should be replaced by robots. I would gladly pay double for my next flight than to EVER use Spirit again."
Pros: "Staff were actually nice on this flight. I boarded last so can’t complain."
Cons: "No entertainment. No power outlets. No reclining seats. No legroom. No frills. Base fare. Pretty crappy as usual."
Pros: "Flight started and reached on time."
Cons: "Spirit Airlines is a complete joke! We were standing at the ticket counter by 10:15 and the flight was at 11:06 yet refused to print out boarding passes. They even allowed the person directly in front of us to check in but apparently we were the cut off. After asking to speak with a supervisor, the ticket agent disappeared for 15 minutes only to return and tell us that there was no supervisor available. What? So..... no one is supervising the staff or daily operations? That’s a little scary. We asked the ticket agent again to print our boarding passes and at least let us attempt to make the flight but he again refused. The ticket gate we were at was directly next to the security line which had about 5 people in it. We also heard him tell the person in front of us who he allowed to check in that our gate was literally the first gate after security. I can not comprehend why he wouldn’t at least give us the option to try and make the flight which was 100% realistic. Instead, he refused our request for boarding passes a third time. The lack of service I received was absolutely and completely ridiculous. In a state of panic I began looking up other flight options that would get us to our destination on time... there was nothing! While I️ was researching flights, my traveling companion ran to the Southwest Airlines ticket counter and explained the situation. The ticket agent immediately began checking the computer and found a flight that would get us to our destination in time but the flight was leaving in 30 minutes. She stated that she could not promise we would make the flight but was happy to let us try! We got through security quickly and were able to board the 11:15 flight. Our original flight with Spirit departed at 11:06. I want a refund or I will be contacting my bank for a chargeback."
Pros: "They were efficient at loading and unloading. The business model of minimal inclusions was fine."
Cons: "I booked through Kayak but was not told about all the extra costs that could be incurred. I was unaware of the extra costs for checked bags. The cost was far more than other airlines. The flight attendants talked non stop to the point I was wishing I had ear plugs. The discounts for printing your own tickets and checking your bags ahead of time was not communicated prior to check in. It is on the website but not through the booking service. The self check in kiosk at check in would not work so we were upcharged for not using it but we couldn't."
Pros: "Absolutely NOTHING"
Cons: "This airline has check in requirements that no other airlines have and did not send any email or notification what so ever letting passengers know. I also was not informed through Kayak of these rules. They would not let me on the flight because I was waiting in line while 3 of the 4 check in attendants were not even helping people in line! I had to pay a $100 fee to change my flight and they didn't have any options for same day. The flight wasn't even boarding yet and there wasn't a line for security and the gate was very close. If they don't let passengers know of their rules when selling through a 3rd party website THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL THROUGH 3rd PARTY WEBSITES! Absolutely disgraceful experience."
Cons: "Spirit airlines cancelled my return flight along with nine other flights that morning. Their were hundreds of passengers left stranded and had to fend for themselves to figure out away to get home. The majority had to spend anywhere from $400-$1000 on a one way ticket back on an alternate airline. Definitely my worst experience yet. Customer service was rude and it took five hours standing in line to talk to someone at the airport. I ended up having to fly to a different city and drive to an a half hours in the other direction to get my car that was at the airport I flew out of originally. Never Fly Spirit Airlines no matter how cheap the flight is. You'll end up paying a lot more in the long run when they cancel your flight. This airline will be out of business in less than a year. I guarantee it!"
Cons: "Never EVER have I flown with an airline that charges you for carry-on luggage. If I would have known this and all the other extra hidden fees, including (extra chargers for checking passengers in..etc) I most definitely would have picked a different airline. To make matters even worse, they never once told me while checking in at their airline counter that they charge for carry on luggage. So.. when I arrived to my boarding gate, they announced that all carry on luggage was an additional fee of $100.00, unless already checked in at the counter for their base rate of $60.00 FOR A CARRY ON.... In order to board my flight, I had to pay $100.00 for one tiny little suitcase. I was beyond aggravated. It felt like this airlines entire intentions were to scam every passenger that boarded. At one point on the flights, as the flight attendants were going through the emergency procedures, a passengers behind me said "You will only give us our oxygen masks, for an additional charge" I will NEVER fly with Spirit Airline again. Every employee that I came across during my travels were incredibly rude, and very unhelpful. Spirit does have cheaper flights, but after all the up-charges you end up paying way more than you will if you just book with another airline."
Cons: "The airline emailed at 2 am to notify that the 6 am flight was cancelled. The cancellation hotline was not too helpful - they rebooked me on a Delta flight connecting to two more United flights. Delta flight was delayed so I would have missed my 2 connections. Finally rebooked me on another Southwest flight to New Orleans (final destination) that they should have rebooked me on in the first place. Also discovered upon my second rebooking that the initial rebooking agent did not rebook my return flight, so I would not have had a seat had my first rebooking leg not been delayed. Only offered at $50 Spirit voucher for the inconvenience. Definitely never taking Spirit again."
Pros: "I recently traveled with my wife and 3 year old for the first time on Spirit Airlines. I have never flown with them before. We travel a fair amount and have always flown with other airlines but I saw a good deal they offered and I jumped on it. After the check in process was completed online, I headed to the airport. The service I received in the terminal with staff standing at the entrance was unexpectedly pleasant. Without asking, the staff had already guided me in the direction and next step I should take for checking luggage. It was awesome! Once we went through the boarding process and boarded the plane, I was totally shocked! The flight attendants were completely kind and over the top hilarious. They were making funny/silly comments about the flight and flying in general. Although there was no electronic entertainment offered on this flight, they made up for it in their fun personalities. It was the best atmosphere between all of the passengers around me who were all enjoying the outgoing spirit with the crew. It was a flight to remember!"
Pros: "Safety"
Cons: "Late Very uncomfortable"
Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "THE WORST customer service I've ever experienced. I called Spirit's corporate customer service, and they told me to go to the airport where I would be placed on a new airline and be reimbursed for the fare difference. When I first got to the ticket counter, the woman "helping" me would not even look me in the eye as she told me my only options were to wait 24 hours for the next flight, or take an $80 refund. They absolutely refused to do *ANYTHING* else to assist. Not even a hotel reiumbursement or car rental. (Keep in mind they also wanted ME to lose the hotel and car I had already pre-paid for in my destination city.) Long story short - I talked to 6 people over the course of two hours trying to sort out THEIR problem (they never explained *why* the flight was cancelled) and got conflicting information from everyone I spoke to. Nobody ever tried to anything except get me out of there and pay as little as possible. Spirit Air is definitely the worst airline I've ever dealt with, and definitely one of the top 10 worst companies anywhere I've ever dealt with. Never again!"
Pros: "I liked absolutely nothing about this airline to the point where I didn't even fly with them the day of my flight"
Cons: "They were not willing to work with me to change my flight date do to a family emergency and couldn't give me credit towards further flights, goes to show how broke this airline is if they really need the money and couldn't refund me like other past and BETTER airlines have done in the past, I will NEVER fly this airline ever again and have told many people to do the same, this was my first and last experience. As a side note I had to DRIVE MYSELF TO LAS VEGAS FROM SAN DIEGO because they were not willing to work with me but I still made it to and from my destination"
Cons: "First, when I booked I was not given option to pay for baggage or choose seats, meaning I wasn't able to use the cheapest option. I had to spend at least 2 hours on the phone with a Spirit agent to get to pay for my bags before arriving at the airport at all - I wasn't able to do it online. On day of flight: the first leg was delayed. When we got to layover our final flight had been cancelled with no reason given. We were booked on another flight 8 hours later which meant we got in late enough that I had to miss another day of work. The Spirit agent at the gate in Las Vegas was also extremely rude. I also didn't get any phone or email updates."
Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "My flight was delayed 4 hours. The connecting plane then left without several passengers that were headed to Seattle. We were not notified that the flight was leaving without us. The employees were extremely rude and showed no remorse that we missed our flight because of their delay. We were given no options, just told we would have to deal with it. They refused to refund our flight or help with finding us a different flight home. We slept on the floor of the airport until the next day and took a different airline home. I will never fly this airline again. Their service is dispicable."
Pros: "Uncomfortable seats, zero leg room, a website that has yet to function properly without me having to call customer service several times per flight. Not to mention the "Low fares" Spirit offers you don't actually account for the money you shovel out for EVERY SINGLE EXTRA you can think of. I ended up spending 65$ on my last flight just to bring a carry on and choose a seat. Tie that all together with an angry, impatient, and unprofessional staff, and you result in a customer who will never be flying spirit airlines again."
Cons: "Spirit Airlines is laughably inconvenient, and derisively unconventional. Stewards are made to be salespeople, and the simplest amenities (such as a seat-back tray or glass of water) are pointedly unavailable. I spent a hellish 10 hours flying Spirit Airlines; having done so, I would never recommend a friend (nor, even, an enemy) go through the same discomfort, ridicule, and expense. The captain was flippant regarding the discomfort of the flight. Stewardesses spoke loudly to one another in the back of the plane, non-stop, for two hours. Seats are ridiculously close to one another, do not recline, and offer trays without proper space to be useful. Spirit makes a point of reminding its customers, every step of the way, how limited their flight experience will be. When I purchased flight tickets through Kayak, I did not realize that Spirit would strip me, the paying customer, of every possible amenity, all for the farce of a"bargain" flight. Nowhere was I informed of needing to pay 55$ per carry-on bag at the airport, nor of the further embarrassment of having to pay $15 to simply occupy a seat on the plane. Have I not purchased a ticket? Have I not given my money? Why should I be denied the right to sit on the actual plane? At least three other customers in line in front of me were dissatisfied with their check-in experience. None were comforted by Spirit staff, whose job, clearly, is merely to demand money and offer further ways in which an already paying customer can be divested of the contents of their wallet. I pity all who ride Spirit, work for Spirit, or consider becoming business partners with this company. Clearly, being "the youngest fleet of any major U.S. airline," has its drawbacks."
Pros: "It was really, really cheap. Less than half of every other Dec 26 flight's cost."
Cons: "The terrible lines. The line to check my bag was horribly long-- even after the attendants made a line just for flights to my destination. There were just too few attendants working for how many customers needed to check bags or check in. Additionally, the seats were super small-- we were packed in like sardines. No amount of finagling or shifting would prevent me from touching either of my neighbors, even though I paid for extra leg room. And then you wanted to CHARGE for a CUP OF WATER. Not even a full bottle! I'm surprised you didn't charge for ice! All in all, I'm very disappointed. Won't be taking Spirit again."
Pros: "It got me from Houston to Las Vegas without killing me . . . that's about it."
Cons: "From the booking process 5 months ago trying to fix an incorrect date I put in (had to cancel and rebook) English was not understandable. To their online problems. Couldn't get online to save paying an outrageous fee for luggage and online booking. Met with the standard go online and complain ? Rude unresponsive employees that garble off phrases so often and so fast as to be incomprehensible. Misinformation by the flight crew as to where the luggage would be. Smallest cramped seats I've ever been in. NEVER AGAIN. (this is not like me, I'm usually very easy going)"
Pros: "Crew was nice, friendly, and funny. 3 stars is because there is no actual service unless you flag them down to pay for things."
Cons: "WARNING: MUST PAY FOR CARRY ON BEFORE GATE. Spirit wants $45 for a carry on bag, and apparently $100 if you don't realize it before you get to the gate. I don't even know how much for checking one. So unless all you have is a handbag, add $90 per bag to the cheap looking price. Seat reservations are janky and can also cost you money. There's no app to check in, reserve seats, or view your flight, and their website has a terrible mobile user interface. The crew doesn't even ask if you want something, they just walk up and down with trash bags. That said, they were polite, professional and friendly. I guess you flag them down if you want to spend a bunch of money on Chex Mix and a soda or expensive beer. You have to pay to even get water or peanuts. There is no entertainment. The seats do not recline. If you have never flown Spirit, you're probably thinking "all that is too ridiculous to be true," which is what I thought when my Uber driver started warning me. Nothing above is exaggerated, just the facts. Never again."
Cons: "$100 extra for luggage"
Pros: "It was simple and convenient and got me where I was trying to go cheaply. It was fairly clean n what not and I liked how kind of hip it felt with their process and design. It really does feel like a modern airline sort of like an uber or something but in order to make it cheap they do cut down on pretty much anything that makes the experience kind of luxurious. The chairs were quite thin for example and no in flight food was complimentary. I was able to take my large backpack on the flight free as a personal item so that was great too. They have a metal frame to check the size of your item. If it fits in there it can be a personal item. My backpack was able to squeeze but typical carry on's may not. It also really felt like an airline for the youth which goes along with that kind of young and hip feel. Good stuff."
Cons: "The thin somewhat stiff chairs were difficult to sleep in."
Pros: "The cost is excellent & staff was very friendly."
Cons: "Lack of communication. When printing out boarding pass, it flashed the flight was delayed @ 90 min, which I thought was weird. Just thought I'd check in later. When I called TSA in Kansas City I was told the same. So when I arrived at the airport they were announcing thaty flight was boarding, I went to baggage counter and was told I had to take my case on the plane, TSA security told me to take it to baggage counter. I told TSA I'd already been there, the 2 of them start arguing back and forth about my bag, if they would have taken my bag when I 1st went to turn it in, it would have been on the plane with me. However because they'd called final boarding, all my stuff got left in Kansas City. I've already called the airline to see if my bag made it to Vegas or not but haven't found out yet. As they have nt called me back. Oh the man in front of me was on my same flight & how nag made it on the plane. Extremely annoying for this to happen when it could've ALL been avoided as there was no one else behind me."
Cons: "Spirit airlines is VERY misleading. Yes it was the cheapest flight as stated but then there were the hidden costs. baggage for one luggage or carry on? Ridiculous when other airlines don't charge for the first one. A little overweight? A huge hefty fine. Pay for your seat?! There were no free seats at all!!! No complimentary snack or drink??? Charge for water!!! Ridiculous! The seats were like being packed in a sardine can and no recline which I had a terrible headache when the we finally landed! By the time I had to pay for the "extras" I could have flown first class on another airline! Never again will I will flight with Spirit and will highly recommend anyone else not to also!!!"
Pros: "If I want to fly somewhere with just my laptop and no carry on and no luggage, this will be the way to go."
Cons: "After booking this flight with Spirit (2 flights out and 2 flights back, and I'm not going to rate each one separately) I was ready to log in an pay for baggage because I did not carefully examine all the details when booking. We did not get a free carry-on and the price for paying for luggage was higher than expected. BUT that was just the beginning. In every flight I've been on before, you pay for your bags one, I had to pay for the bags each step of the way. And paying for luggage and carry-ons each step of the way meant paying over $300 for bags. I'm used to paying $30 per person. So my excitement at getting low fares evaporated instantly. I was now paying the going rate for the flight with a lot of extra hassle to boot. I was with my aunt who needed a wheelchair to get around the airport in a wheelchair. Other airlines had them available for us to use, but Spirit would only offer to call a service for us. They did not indicate what the cost of this service would be. They didn't say it was free and they didn't say it was not. I just found an empty wheelchair and used that, after having just paid more than $300 for baggage for three small bags, I wasn't into more surprises. But I had to use American Airlines wheelchairs which they were cool with, because Spirit refused to let me use theirs without the escort (paid?) who actually didn't show up in the few minutes it took me to think it through."
Pros: "Never fly this airline, they are horrible! I called several times about my flight because I knew I would be late trying to make the flight and they were rude. Customer Service is horrible. They cheat people out of their money smh. Terrible. I'm currently looking to sue!! Don't fly with them. No matter how cheap it is. Fly with Aleigant or Frontier first. Least they won't just keep your ticket money if you miss a flight they will make amends. SPIRIT is tacky, classless, and just overall a terrible airline. They need to be out of business. Seriously. Don't say I didn't warn you!"
Pros: "Pilot was very funny and crew was kind"
Cons: "No food or drinks served Seats did not recline and were not comfortable Charge for carry on was absolutely unreasonable Overall, I will never be flying spirit airlines again. I intended to fly on this airlines as it was truly a discount .. I soon realized I had subjected myself to discomfort for no reason when I discovered I would have to spend another $100 just for my carry ons.. At that point, I may as well have just spent a little more money and flown for any other airlines with decent seats and complementary beverages.."
Pros: "The price was low to book, but read on, because it wasn't worth it."
Cons: "Absolutely terrible in all other respects. After delaying the flight for 20 minutes or so (due to "maintenance issues"), the employee came on and said that the flight was cancelled. Not that Spirit would bring a new plane so we could all still fly out. Not that they would be taking a little longer to fix the issue. No, just that it was cancelled. Then, when the herd of people went to the ticket counter to get new flights or refunds, no one was there for about 30 minutes. When they finally arrived, they were unwilling to compensate for my $30 taxi ride. And they were generally unkind and unhelpful. This is unacceptable; I will not book Spirit again. Thank you for your understanding."
Pros: "NOTHING."
Cons: "I was notified at 9AM that I would miss my connecting flight (flight was at 6PM). I called Spirit to fix this ahead of time, they said I needed to speak to someone at the kiosk. The person at the kiosk said I needed to speak to someone at the gate. The lady at the gate said not to worry, we weren't even getting off of this plane. 10 MINUTES BEFORE BOARDING, I'm told that I'm going to miss my connecting flight and that my options were to either sleep over at Vegas or fly out the next day. I decided to fly out the next day, getting to my destination at noon. Got home, looked up the flight that the man at the kiosk booked me, AND IT WAS GETTING IN AT 11PM THE NEXT NIGHT. I called Spirit, infuriated that the rep literally lied to me, and asked to speak with a manager. I was told that a manager would have to call me back (WHAT?). I have yet to receive a phone call. I will never, EVER, EVER, fly Spirit airlines ever again."
Pros: "The flight attendants were great! Immediately saw I had a problem with the passenger next to me who would not leave me alone, and checked in on me throughout the flight. One of the attendants even knelt down next to me discretely to let me know that if he was a problem to not hesitate to grab her and she would take care of it. It was great to know they were looking out for their customers."
Cons: "I arrived to the airport early to check in, and was told that I was too early to check by bag for my flight because they all took lunch soon and no one would be available to watch my bag. It just didn't make sense to me. I had to wait for three hours! Once checked in, we were notified that our flight was delayed, twice, causing what should have been a quick day of travel into a very long and exhausting experience. I know some of these things can't be helped, but with better customer service, it would have at least made the day less miserable. Safe to say I would not fly spirit ever again. It doesn't save you any money, because once you pay for your seat, you bag, and any other additional costs you're spending more money than if you had booked with an established airline."
Cons: "I usually never post anything negative for a review, so here is my first one. I had an awful flying experience with spirit I will never fly with them again. I will keep it short and simple. They charge you for everything that your flight ends up becoming super expensive and its obscured until you get hit with the fee. First off, bag check in is ridiculously expensive. Cost me just about 100 dollars to check a tiny bag. The seats on the airline do not recline and there was absolutely zero leg room. Im not that tall (6'0), so there is no reason I should have to sit sideways on the seat because my knees are jammed into the seat in front of me. My entire neck and back became stiff when I got off the aircraft because of this. Water cost me 5 dollars. Do I need to say more? Water should be free. I left my long sleeve shirt in my bag that was already checked, so I asked a flight attendant if they had a tiny blanket ( It was so cold my jaw was shivering ) And she literally told me you should have brought one, we are not responsible for lending flyers blankets because its too cold.. Could not believe the awful experience I had with this airline. Never again. 1 star is generous."
Pros: "I disliked everything except how helpful the staff was when I almost puked because of the extreme discomfort of the seats."
Cons: "Being in that seat for 3.5 hours was the worst thing I have ever experienced on an airplane. I think I pinched the Vagus nerve in my abdomen and almost passed out on the airplane. I somehow was able to tell my wife that I needed help, she asked for water, they told me it would be $3 and I told them that I needed to go to the bathroom fast because I was very ill. Made it to the flight attendant's seat by the bathroom and sat there for a minute, then was able to open the bathroom door. Sat on the floor of the bathroom for about 5 minutes and was 100% better. Didn't even need to vomit because my circulation seemed to normalize after getting out of that horrible seat. Imagine - sitting on the floor in the tiny bathroom was more comfortable and actually cured me. They get one star out of 10 from my because they gave me free water. Otherwise it would be zero."
Cons: "this might have been my mistake I did not arrive 45 minutes prior to departure I was 6 minutes past the 45-minute line and they would not let me board the plane..I asked 4 times to talk to a manager all I kept hearing where she was at lunch and she would be down in a bit I waited for almost 30 minutes before I decided just go catch another plane on Southwest to Vegas kayak might want to inform all of their customers dealing with spirit Airlines that the 45-minute cutoff point is crucial...one of the problems is and I received a email from you the day before that it was moved to a different terminal so at the San Diego Airport even the people that work there didn't know where the Spirit Airlines was and there was 5 people behind me who had the same issue and this Airline will not work with us then they tell me it's too late the plan is already full...I did fly back from Vegas on spirit but what I thought was kind of bizarre with people still boarding the plane five minutes prior to takeoff...next time I go to Vegas I might just pay the extra money and Fly Southwest ...and besides that that plane coming back from Vegas did not sell mechanically strong it made all kinds of noises when we landed and everybody was even looking around like something was going to fall off the plane when we landed in San Diego"
Cons: "I Left my house about 3 hours early before my flight for seatac airport to beat the long lines with the tsa inspections. When I finally got there I spent about a half hour looking for the check in desk, only to find out that it was one of those rollaway check in counters. To make matters worse I had to pay 55 dollars for my carry on. What kind of bs is that. I thought I would at leased get that for free. Just expecting the standard I guess. Serves me right for not doing my research before flying. With Spirit air you pay for everything including for that not so complementary water that you might need after chocking on their corny jokes. You might wanna take some neck/back pain meds with you also. Those seats are uncomfortable and don't lounge back. On the way back I was getting emails of constant gate changes and the flight was delayed for an hour. Better keep checking your email. I guess I can suck it up if I was taking a short flight somewhere and I didn't need any luggage. Other than that I'm flying on a different airlines in the future. Good luck."
Cons: "TICKETS ARE CHEAP FOR A REASON.. FLIGHT GOT DELAYED A HOUR BACK. AS SOON AS WE GET TO VEGAS OUR PILOT TELLS US THAT ITS NOT SAFE TO LAND AND HES GOING TO WAIT TIL ITS SAFE WHICH IS UNDERSTANDABLE BUT HE DECIDED TO FLY AROUND IN CIRCLES FOR 30 MINUTES. AFTER THAT HE SAID IT STILL WASNT SAFE AND WE LANDED IN LA INSTEAD OF LAS VEGAS. 4 HRS LATE ON ARRIVAL TO LAS VEGAS, AND ON TOP OF ALL THE FUCKERY, U DONT GET ANY COMPLIMENTARY SNACKS OR WATER. AND IF U DONT PAY FOR YOUR BAGS ONLINE THEY'LL HIT U OVER THE HEAD WITH A 60-100 TAB JUS FOR ONE BAG."
Pros: "There's a baggage fee that should've been mentioned by KAYAK!! When I first check online it was $25 then I check again it was $40 then when I tried to pay it in person it became $50. The agent that help people at the counter was very rude, they don't have no people skill whatsoever. They moved the gate which is fine..... But the previous flight just got off and they don't even bother to clean the plane because they were running late. Granted the stewardesses are polite and the pilot is really good..... It was a smooth ride and landing...... But it was supposed to be a 5 hour flight...... I was supposed to be in Vegas by 9:45pm..... But now is 1:45am and I'm still in the plane waiting for the gate to be open...... 4 hours delay........ !!! It just turn to be a 9 hours flight!! Almost double the time!!! Ridiculous!!!!"
Cons: "Hidden fees!! Poor customer service!!! Bad experience!!!"
Pros: "when we landed safely"
Cons: "Shysters of the not-so-friendly skies! As a loyal #AlaskaAirlines customer, I hesitated before buying tickets on Spirit from San Diego to Vegas. After finding an online "deal" for Spirit, maybe $100 less expensive and a convenient flight time, I bought them. Spirit should be heavily fined, if not shut down, for their dishonesty. Upon check in, there was a surprise $55 fee per checked bag and $100 FEE PER CARRY ON bigger than a purse EACH WAY. No cash was accepted at the check in, gate or in-flight. This was not a problem for us, but felt bad for any person who forgot theirs. Once on the plane, Spirit charges $3 per water, soda or juice (inc $3 per refill). Cheap snacks started at $3 per small courtesy size though $7 per "luxury item" of cup-o-soup noodles. Icing on the cake of poop experience was our airline server. Shocked in to tears of laughter, the woman with the beverages walked up and barked "what do you want?!" To our row. I asked to buy the Moscow mule. She said, "where is your card? If it is not out of your wallet now I am going walking away. Other people want drinks and I don't have time for you to get out your wallet!" LOL!! I gave it to her, then she barked a similar rant at the nice people sitting next to me. NEVER, EVER will I fly Spirit again. The charges alone are so dishonest but the service is awful too."
Cons: "they nickel and dime you for literally EVERYTHING. you think you are saving money purchasing a cheap ticket but once you add in your suitcase and God for bid a soda or coffe while on the plane you're at double the cost of the original ticket price. I know they warn you of the small amount of space but my knees were jammed to the chair in front of me, I'm 5'8, so not like I am abnormally tall. it was just a bad enough experience all around that I would advise no one to take the airlines, especially for a long routed trip!"
Pros: "The Crew and the seat trays that perfectly fit an iPad for watching movies."
Pros: "Getting to my destination"
Cons: "This airlines charges for everything. I called and got specifications for a free carry-on, went and purchased a bag based on the information provided and then incurs hundred dollars cost to carry the bag from one point to another. This was insane because my outbound flight was less than half full and my return was about 80% full. Additionally the width of my bag was the same as the free carry-on and there were is no issue getting it into the overhead compartment and leaving room for other people, in other words it did not reduce the amount of space available to other passengers. Additionally, in order to reserve a seat it cost me $16. The total cost of this trip on spirit exceeded The cost of flying on any full-service airline at short notice. The cost that I paid exceeded first class fair to my destination if I would have booked two weeks in advance. The planes are clean but are extremely tight and The seats do not recline. The tray tables are the size of a small tablet and the cost of any sort of drink or food is at very least six times the cost of the item at any grocery store. This airline clearly is interested in having one shot at a customer and not at acquiring customers who will do repeat business. Several of The people at my business event who also flew on this airline had a similar experience. Like myself they will never use this airline again. I fly Southwest often and I would encourage anyone I know to fly on this airline. I also fly a great deal on American which is not as nice as it was years ago but still is far nicer than many of the other airlines. Before you fly Spirit I highly recommend that you find out all of the cost that you might incur. I made the mistake of booking the airline on kayak and had no warning of the added cost. Kayak screwed up by not warning me and Spirit put the screws to me as hard as they could."
Pros: "I did not like anything about this airline other than the friendly flight attendants."
Cons: "Nothing nice to say. Spirit intentionally tricks people with their business model by offering a cheap base fare then charging for ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. I'm literally surprised I wasn't charged for breathing. My list of disappointments and ridiculous costs: -paying for your exact seat location on top of your ticket -Paying egregious amounts for luggage - watch out for hidden costs -paying for WATER -seats are awful and uncomfortable and don't recline whatsoever. Felt like they were made of plastic. -planes (even cross country) only have 2 bathroom stalls total so that spirit can keep their costs low with smaller planes. Then they make several PA announcements that you can't wait for the bathroom by the door. So if you're sitting in the middle of the plane you're screwed because everyone closer gets up first. AWFUL customer experience overall!! I could have paid the same total amount for a respectable, comfortable airplane with a reasonable amount of bathrooms and free water."
Pros: "Price was right for those of us who can travel without luggage, if you need luggage than fly Southwest. The is a budget airline and it shows. They do let you bring on a backpack as a free item, just make sure the backpack is smaller than a carry on. I can squeeze a weeks worth of clothes with a backpack. it would be cheaper to fed-ex your suitcase to where you're going. Bring your own food. Seats don't recline and there's no legroom. You can upgrade to more room, but, then why not fly the more expensive airline anyway?"
Cons: "Everything else, you get what you pay for."
Pros: "Nothing about my experience was pleasant. I had to pay for luggage and an assigned seat. So the cost of the ticket was a lie. The flight got delayed 2 hours on my way to Vegas. Other airlines provide free bags to military members. The return flight was delayed 2.5 hours so I purchased a separate ticket from another airline. By the time I got through checking my luggage, and security I received another text message delaying the Spirit flight another hour. I was out 166.00 for flying AA, but it was worth every penny."
