Pros: "This review is for return travel from ATL to MAA (Chennai, India) and back. Route: ATL-DOH: about 14.5 hrs; DOH-MAA: about 4.5 hrs; Likes: 1. Baggage check-in process was simple and easy. 2. Meal preferences was good - I'm a vegetarian and on the onward journey forgot to specify the meal preference but the crew had enough inventory to meat the requirements. 3. Every seat was provided with a small plastic pouch/packet/goodie bag that consisted of a eye mask (very thoughtful), pair of sock, toothpaste+brush (very thoughtful), hand cream. This was very useful and effective. 4. Entertainment - options were good and current."
Cons: "Dislikes: 1. Online check-in wasnt easy; towards the end of the process, there is an option to email the boarding pass but this never worked. Not sure if this is something to do with the browser (tried with Firefox, Opera) 2. It would have been good, as part of the online check-in, if the users reminded to specify the meal preferences, etc. I forgot to specify the meal preferences but thankfully the crew had enough of what I wanted. 3. Take a relook at the packaging of the toothpaste tube in the goodie bag. It was sealed in such a way that it was difficult to open it w/o a sharp object. This should have been easier. 4. Seats were the worst part - poor legroom. Worst, the seat cushion is the worst. I think it was just a fabric over a metal seat with minimalist of cushion. ATL to DOH leg was the worst (and the longest leg of the trip). Unless you have open seats next to you it would be a back breaking and painful trip. Seat comfort wise, I would rate Qatar as the worst. Luckily on the return leg (DOH-ATL) next two seats to mine was empty, so was able to stretch and sleep well. DOH-MAA or MAA-DOH seating was little better (think its a older plane; newer planes have worst seats) 5. The website was damn slow while accessing from overseas. Even in the US, at times the website hangs-up, freezes or spins often. 6. Food was ok -dinner and lunch but minimalistic; I didnt see any specific breakfast menu or any coffee served separately (was part of beverage option during lunch or dinner) 7. There was no alert, communication, notification, reminder of upcoming trip via email or text, etc. Many airlines does this very often but Qatar was totally silent on it (they did have my email during checkin). Not sure why."

Pros: "First of all, I want to preface this by saying that virtually every airline is better than the major ones working in the US (American, United, and Delta), and Qatar Airways is amongst this number. The entertainment selection was excellent, the best of any flight I've ever been on. The flight attendants were excellent, again, much better than those on American carriers (I am American, FYI)."
Cons: "The food was terrible. Of course, we know this about airline food, BUT I have been on Qatar Airways flights with GOOD food in the past, so I know it can be better. Also, I sat in the baby section, which also happens to be where they put long-legged people. This is no one's fault, but suffice to say, do NOT sit next to 4 5-month olds for a 15-hr flight! Interestingly, since all flight attendants were women, about 50% of the flight did listen to them since there were many conservative Arabs onboard from Qatar or Saudi Arabia (i.e., those who are taught not to listen to or respect women). This made for some frustrating sites to witness but it's obviously not the airline's fault. Poor women!"

Demanded that I except any and all alcohol to give to her to drink. When I am tea total she then continued to abuse me. I asked the steward to move me he just shrugged his shoulders and said there was nowhere else. This is definitely my the worst flight I have experienced."

Within a few hours (and thanks to airline assistance) we were able to locate the suitcase. Even then it took them two days to bring it to us, two precious days off our planned vacation (7 days) At the end of the shortened vacation, we got to the chek in, and told that since the ticket I had purchased form them two months earlier was too cheap ... and since the flight was Over booked, they would take me off the plane if all the passengers would arrive. It's unnecessary to describe what I felt until the plane took off. They apologize constantly, but do nothing practical. a bae company. no me nor my freinds/family will go with KLM"

When we arrived to the plane, they had both entrances open so that those sitting near the rear of the plane would enter from the back. Plane was a little chilly, but I have come to expect that one most flights."

Cons: "Departure was scheduled with one hour delay. When everyone was boarded they mentioned a leaking toilet. It took them 1,5 hours to disable the toilet. In the mean time, no drinks, no snacks, nothing. So we should depart at 18:00 but it became 19:30. Our first drinks and meal was no earlier then 21:00. The crew should have anticipated better that the technical problem would at least take one hour and give everyone a drink at least."

Cons: "Since we had two extra bags (paid for in Chicago), they demanded to see my receipt before we could board in Amsterdam to Nairobi. We had trouble locating the receipt and we were not given an explanation as to why we needed it again. We were traveling with 5 kids including an infant and we were not allowed to board until we found the receipt. I thought surely they would have record that I had paid, but I guess not. We were the last to board and all very stressed out. The staff seemed not to care the least in our troubles."

So it's one thing that you have to cancel the flight because of fog; but rebooking us the next day on a flight through New York that doesn't exist, was way below the standard of care I would expect from any airline. Apparently, the NY to LAX flight that KLM booked us on, was only one leg of the flight to Sydney Australia; and according to some airline agreement, only Australian nationals are permitted to take that flight! Running around at JFK from terminal four, to terminal seven, to terminal eight, back to terminal four, to get a flight out, was a bit much considering how tired we were – not to mention hungry, since KLM neglected to provide the kosher meals we had requested with plenty of time – BOTH going to and returning from Europe."

So I went there and told one of the employee of United airlines that I just need to drop off my lugggaes and she saw the stickers on my bags and told to used the kiosk and print again a new tags because the one attached was already old, but the stickers attached printed pittsburgh, while I'm trying to print another one, a nice employee from ANA saw me and asked me if I need help, she told me I don't need to print another one , I just need to drop off the bags. Cons: "One and a half hour delay to get in the plane then we were told to sit on the tarmac for another hour. Pilots had no sense of urgency tying to make up any of the time. Flight attendant was extremely rude and condescending."

Cons: "Flight had issues with WiFi so personal entertainment didn’t work until a few hours into the flight. Although, I was never fully able to watch a movie due to buffering. As for boarding, Honolulu airport terminal is under construction so it made boarding the plane a mess as groups merged with other groups. Not United’s fault but felt it could have been managed better."

Outside of being foreign most of the United employees seem like complete morons. Also there was that same bag in front of me. So my legroom was restricted."

Pros: "The fact that we were able to check two bags with no added cost and eve though we had to go through customs the bags were transferred for us after."
Cons: "The lack of entertainment on the second part of the flight which was serviced by United from Washington to Seattle. We had to use our own phones as the plane did not have screens and the choices of shows was a bit lacking, we also had to pay for drinks even though this was a 5.5 hour flight which should have included a meal."

Connecting flight was 1hr and 40 min and they refused to give us water! Got to Budapest to find that the ticket Agent had routed three of our 4 bags to Budapest and one to Prague! How much worse could it possibly get!"

Cons: "We left late because they were waiting for people from another flight that got canceled to transfer to our flight, and even with the delay, one of my bags got lost. I was the third person to check in for the flight, so I'm not sure how that happened."

Pros: "Excellent crew, ALL OF THEM! smiling and super helpful and they seemed to enjoy their job. Super clean restrooms (again, I was the first one in there - by chance)."
Cons: "I travelled economy. Somehow it felt quite crammed. I felt that there were too many announcements, in all 3 languages, it got frustrating, as it stops all onboard entertainment. Duty Free selection rather frugal."

Never encountered that before on any other airlines."

Cons: "It was late both going to Prague and coming back. Then on this flight the stewardess tried to tell me that I could not put my bag on the bin on top of my head - she was reserving it for other passengers! Then she realized that her comment might sound racist (so she apologized), then she told me that I could not put my small bag under the chair. Finally I told her that she is certainly looking for a way to get me off the flight to which she answered "I can certainly find something!!!" Cultural sensitivity is needed with these stewardesses who are racist like I don't understand and I was certainly polite!"

Cons: "We had to wait 1 hour inside the airplane because there was fog in Lisbon. Flight took 2.5 hours and the Fog cleared long before we landed so there was no need to wait 1 hour in the airplane where we had NO leg space at all. As compensation they could at leased given us coffee for free and not have to buy for a bloody expensive high price."

Cons: "Very uncomfortable, no refreshments. Everyone on the flight was suprised to find that food and drink cost money. The entire flight, the crew was selling something and you could not pass in aisle or even use toilet for half the fight. No entertainmrnt on a flight of 4.5 hrs and this was not supposed to be a low cost flight."

Pros: "Business class. Great service and truly gourmet food. Departure & arrival exactly on time.... a first with JFK. Very nice present of a large box of Neuhaus chocolates upon landing."
Cons: "Silly but the toiletries bag was cumbersome and contained very little. Unlike our return flight to JFK the outbound flight to BRU had very, very poor food and I'm being politr."

Pros: "No major issues. Crew provided help making a short connection at Brussels."
Cons: "Flight was slightly delayed. Entertainment selection was limited but OK. Seat comfort in coach is low, not much padding; but then, most airlines seem to think comfort is not needed in coach."

Hard to believe that there was such poor technology for a flight from the U.S. to Europe. Also, there were no ports to charge phones or tablets which made it near impossible to watch entertainment on a phone or tablet due to low battery levels. The wi-fi was not strong. I typically like food on an airplane, but this food was not something to be enjoyed. I hope to not fly Brussels Airlines/United again. I'll stick with British Airways and American."

Pros: "Check -in - very friendly staff Airport in Brussels was easy for making connection"
Cons: "The food was at extra cost - and pretty expensive. Not even water was offered free of charge. Was surprised that the food was on sale - nothing was said about it in advance."

Cons: "We arrived at the airport at 4:30 for 6:25 flight and there were only 3 open windows to check baggage for 4 different airlines. There were over 200 people in line extending out the door and no one was present to explain what was happening. Soon additional clerks arrived and the line began to move, but it took 45 minutes. The gate area was not large enough for all the passengers and there were seats for only a few while we waited and waited."

Cons: "Our flight (operated by Air Canada) was delayed due to a control tower fire. Other flights seemed to have been delayed 1 or 2 hours, but ours was delayed 3.5 hours. That's not really the airline's fault, but it seems like they didn't want to communicate updates or give us any options for alternate flights. They also listed the delay at just under 3 hours, rather than the real 3.5 we were late leaving the gate (to avoid giving out vouchers, I suspect)."

Cons: "My bag was lost. I was in Africa for 4 days before it finally came in. During the flight, there were several hours that we were never checked on or asked if we wanted something to drink."

Cons: "First time on Brussels Airline - flying from IAD to Budapest and back via Brussels. On the long haul to/from Europe, the seats in coach did not have any type of individual air flow control above the seat. I was sitting by a window which must have been directly facing the sun. I have never been so hot and uncomfortable on a plane. Some kind of air conditioning did kick on for a short duration, but it was not enough."

Cons: "It would have been nice to have received complimentary water, coffee, or a bag of pretzels on this flight. We didn't receive anything or we had to pay for a bottle of water. First flight I have experienced like that."

Cons: "The flight was canceled. I found out the day before my departure - the airlines didn't even contact me to let me know - and I never got reimbursed for the canceled flight. I had to purchase a $1500 new ticket to get back home in time. I wrote to the Brussels Airlines and they never addressed these complains."

Cons: "Travelling out to Budapest our flight was delayed about 40 minutes. We had a connection in Brussels and had to run from B terminal to A to reach on time. We reached the flight, however bags did not make the connection. We received bags next day at hotel. Travelling home, the flight was delayed 1h30m, the gates were shifted 3 times for departure, we had to sprint this time for conmection again B to A terminals. On the flight we were told Edinburgh connection would be rebooked so go to desk, however we made the flight just and so did the luggage, if we had waitied as told to rebook our luggage would have landed in Edinburgh with us stuck in Brussels. Won't be using again."
