Daily cleaning, installation of cabin HEPA filters on flights from San Diego to Qatar
Qatar has restricted the entry of all travelers except for Qatari nationals, their travelling companions, immediate family members of nationals, those with a permanent resident card or other exceptionally approved visa holders.
Travelers with a sponsored work permit/employment visa may also return to Qatar.
Nationals of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates are allowed to enter state of Qatar using their passports under same conditions as Qatari nationals according to the country they are travelling from. Their sponsored companions who are holding Qatari resident permit are also allowed to return to Qatar without the need for an exceptional entry permit, as long as they are traveling with their sponsors on same flight.
Travelers returning to Qatar must take a coronavirus test and thermal screening on arrival.
All residents arriving after December 22 on flights originating in the UK will be required to stay at one of two dedicated hotels for their quarantine period: Intercontinental Doha Hotel or Mercure Grand Doha and must be booked in Discover Qatar website.
Arrivals from countries that are not included in the list of low-risk countries and in which COVID-19 testing centers have been accredited are required to obtain a virus-free certificate from there no more than 48 hours before traveling. Check MOPH website for the current list. If no accredited testing centers are available, they may arrive in Qatar but they are required to quarantine in a hotel, at their own expense.
Travelers must have a quarantine hotel reservation made at www.discoverqatar.qa for a duration of 7 days. Travelers from a low-risk country and have been in that country for at least 1 week will be allowed to travel to Qatar and home quarantine.
Travelers with temporary residence permit and personal visit visa holders must first send a request to return through the Qatar Portal website. Once approved, check the "Type of Quarantine" stated on the certificate. If this states "Hotel" then book a quarantine package hotel from Discover Qatar. They must have a copy of Exceptional Entry Permit and Discover Qatar Hotel Voucher, as well as flight documents when they check-in for flight. Dates for arrival and hotel check-in must match.
Downloading Qatar’s track and trace app, Ehteraz, is mandatory for everyone in Qatar. Travelers may be asked to show the app upon arrival.
There is a daily limit on arrivals entering Qatar and demand is extremely high.
Depending on country of origin, travelers will either be required to self-isolate at home for a period of 7 days, or go into a self-funded quarantine for 7 days, followed by 7 days self-isolation at home. Travelers who cannot self-isolate from home, can alternatively book a 14 night welcome home quarantine package instead. Visit Discover Qatar website for more information.

Travelers returning from one of the countries on the COVID-19 Green List are eligible for home quarantine. Check MOPH website for the current list.
Travelers are subject to medical screening on arrival.
Transit passengers traveling on to another destination can still transfer through Qatar, and many flights continue to operate. You should check with your airline or travel company for the latest information if you are planning to leave or transit through Qatar. Flights are subject to change or cancellation at short notice.
Whilst in transit at Hamad International Airport, travelers will receive regular thermal screening and temperature checks.

In fact, there was a whole group of passengers traveling on American from different US cities, switching to RJ in Chicago, whose luggage did not come on the flight to Amman. My advice: be sure to pack enough for a couple of days in your carryon - and don't accept an offer to check your carryon to its final destination! The food was very mediocre, and not much for a flight of over 10 hours. And the movie options were limited, mostly older. The crew never came and offered water between meals - although I did discover we could go to the galley and get drinks. It would have been nice to have that option mentioned. The plane itself was nice, and seating slightly more roomy than other carriers."

Security personnel didn't explain differences in protocol to other flights/check-in procedures which led to high frustration, e.g., families were separated for individual screenings/pat downs without asking where our small child should go. There were no bathrooms or concessions in the last section where people were waiting right before boarding the flight."

Then the plane was standing still in the tarmac for good 10 minutes and I needed a tissue again - the same stewardess was extremely rude in telling me to go back to my seat - I advised her to be calm and speak appropriately. I was only trying to get the tissue paper from the toilet."

Cons: "There was a lot of turbulence in the flight that had no warning at all. I was walking in an aisle when it started and almost fell and would've appreciated more advanced notice. It was a bummer that the flight was delayed, but that happens and I understand it."

Boarding was a pain had a three year old also had to pay extra 50 dollars for my baggage. Typical air Canada nonsense. Would not use them again."
Cons: "My seat was GTE. I didnt know till the last minute if I will be able to get on a plane. How does the airline decide which passenger won't have an assigned seat? Is it legal to overbook a flight? There was something wrong with a plane which caused a chain of delayes, that I can kind of understand but wouldn't like to be on standby ever again, too stressful."

Cons: "Just before boarding it was announced that there would be no hot water on board and passengers should try to run and get a coffee at the airport. 5 hour flight ahead. I didn't have free hand to carry a coffee on board.So no coffee or tea. Also no water in the bathrooms! All meals for purchase were not loaded so no veggies or any gluten free options for purchase. Wanted to buy Duty Free and was told that it wasn't loaded either for some reason. The cabin was a bit cool and after 4 hours of cold drinks I was a bit chilled and asked for a blanket only to discover that they only sell them to the passengers. Then I got the giggles as they thanked us for choosing Air Canada voted number one airline in North America. Hilarious!!!"

Cons: "Rescheduled to increase my layover in Toronto by a few hours. Layover was long enough that I had to get baggage from carousal and couldn't pass back through security until 4h before my flight. This broke up night even more and the outside of Pearson airport security is not the nicest place to wile away hours."

Cons: "Most uncomfortable flight I can remember in last couple years. My knees were squeezed into the seat in front, and when they reclined, the seat was like 1.5 cellphone lengths from my face. The particular route from SD to Toronto squeezes 15 more seats on this popular plane, making it the least knee room I can remember. I wouldnt say Air Canada has less legroom as a generalization, but this route and plane assigned has the least. I guess if you're taller, do a little research on the planes for your routes. No actual wi-fi was kind of annoying. You can access some content, but no real internet connection."
Pros: "The plane was spacious with comfortable seats. Entertainment selections were a highlight. I liked that they offered your buds. Not nearly as bad as United despite some customer service issues."
Cons: "Our tables were dirty so we could not set our drinks and food on them. When we were boarding, one of the crew members was yelling at an older Asian lady. She was in the wrong seat but she obviously did not speak English. She was also of the age where she could have had dementia. He said that she was responsible for holding up the plane and the boarding process. On the return flight, I encountered a very rude boarding agent. Her actions warranted an apology, but I did not receive one. She just would not look at me."
Pros: "We were eventually given meal vouchers. We also ended up staying an extra night on their coin since we had to miss our connecting flight.We were treated fairly but slowly. We would have had an eight hour transit in Vancouver but with the new flights there was one hour connection. With the replacement flight also late our luggage did not make it and we were not informed until we reached Australia."
Cons: "There were little babies and young children waiting with their parents to board this flight. Would have liked more consideration for them but the little ones all behaved so well! Updates were slow and then we had to pick up our luggage and wait in an area where there were no seats so we had to sit on the hard floor (or stand) for a long time."

Leg room is good as we can stretch our legs (I guess you can say that we are not that tall) we wish to travel again with Air Canada in the future."
Pros: "The experience on the flight from san diego to Toronto was excellent from curb side there all the way to baggage claim in Toronto. The service by ground staff on both sides was excellent, The staff on board was helpful, efficient and very polite. In flight Entertainment was good too, unlike on the way to San Diego when the choice was so limited it was not worth my time to use it."

Cons: "When you roll up on clerk at the check-in counter and she's already eyeing your carry-on bag you know you're gonna have a problem. My bag was purchased a month ago and I made sure it met all major airline specs so when she immediately told me I'd have to check it, I told her it would fit no problem in her little mold. She insisted that it would not and I'd have to PAY to check it. I picked it up and easily popped it into the mould but my zipper snagged on the way in and she said that I was not allowed to "force" it in. I then easily lifted it in and out twice without the zipper snagging. Then she insisted that I weigh it. 22lbs is not much at all so I figured I might get caught here but to my surprise I was only at 23lbs. So she immediately said I would have to pay because I was over weight.... BY 1 LB! So I opened my bag and took out bag of carrots and put it back on the scale. She was so pissed that she couldn't charge me anything that she never made eye contact for the rest of the process. She then said that because I had my cat with me I could not sit in the row I had booked because it was an exit row. I insisted that it was not an exit row as I had just flown on the plane four days earlier with my cat in the same seat. She refused and moved me to a row with less leg room despite my having paid for the upgraded seat (I'm 6'4"). Upon boarding, I confirmed with the flight attendant that my original row was NOT an exit row. It was behind the exit row and there are no restrictions for that. One terrible staff member is all it takes to ruin a flight. Air Canada Rouge also happens to be a soda can with wings so that doesn't help."

There is no entertainment system which was ok since it was a red eye flight. I've have flown on many local and international carriers and the space on this aircraft was amongst the smallest I've come across."

Cons: "The flight attendants were inconsiderate of the wishes and comfort of the passengers. Food and drink were offered for sale in tourist class shortly after takeoff in the morning. Since I had just had breakfast, I asked if the food and drinks would be available later. The answer was probably not, which indeed was the case. This was on a five hour flight. When I did want food and drink, I had to go to the attendant at the back of the plane. I was able to have a drink delivered to purchase a drink, but the one food item I wanted was not in stock. (This was from the beginning, and was also the case on the outgoing flight a week earlier. I was informed that I could not use my noise cancelling headphones, designed and purchased largely for flying during takeoff and landing, but had to use ear buds, which I did not have, do not like, and as a senior with hearing aids find uncomfortable. Thus, I missed the benefit of their noise cancelling feature and much of the movie I was enjoying. On the earlier flight, one of the two toilets was unavailable, causing long waits, but the attendant in the front of the plane refused to allow me to use that toilet, which was available. When I protested, she answered the same way perpetrators of crimes against humanity did "I am just following orders." Where is the concern for the humanity of a senior citizen? Also the previous flight connections was scheduled too closely so that with security and border clearance, I was barely able to board at the last minute, thus causing a great deal of stress, no time to ear or use the toilet at the terminal, once again unhealthy stress and discomfort, no concern for the humanity of the passenger."
