Cons: "They charge you for everything including water for three dollars. Their baggage has a maximum weight of 40 pounds unlike any other airline. They make you pay for carry-ons. They make you pay to pick your seat. You have to pay extra for everything so the bottom line is spirit is probably the most expensive airline to fly. The seats are tiny the trays are tiny, they don’t have TVs, seats do not recline. First and last time Flying with them. My bags were 42 pounds and 46 pounds and I had to pay and additional $30 for each of them."

Because I couldn't log into my account online prior to check-in, I ended up paying $52 each way for my bag. As far as the aircraft itself, I found the seats and leg room space to be smaller than other airlines."

I was checking my phone every 15 minutes from the restaurant next to the gate, reloading the status page, and the status that it changed from delayed two hours to taking off now happened within a 10 minute window. Next thing I know they are calling for final boarding, last call, even though half the flight didn't make it there yet because they didn't update that the delay was cancelled until minutes before boarding. I understand we all need to take off ASAP, but they've got to understand if everyone was standing at the gate, there would be no room to stand so we all disperse and know we can check our smartphones for updates."
Pros: "Absolutely nothing, I will never book spirit. First I was told that my bag was too big to board plane, fine. Giving that I was here one hour before departure, no one had the common sense to expedite my baggage check in so that I wouldn’t miss my flight that was also a non refundable ticket. No one cared that I lost a ticket to make it worst they wanted to charge me $150 for the next flight. I said forget and took my money else where it was appreciative even if it meant paying more, customer service is a big issue for, never fly spirit again anything but that. Delta was great"

Cons: "The employee was rude. We waited in line (not moving) for 1 hour and change. They cancelled every single one of their flights to Florida. Their next available flight was for Wednesday, August 7th. We asked if their were any other flights going to FLL and she said she couldn't help us with that. She said we would have to go upstairs and check for ourselves. We asked for the manager and she's said "she's on her way". A man came and told us that whatever was under Spirit Airlines was the only thing we can refund to you. My brother asked the lady "I thought you said the manager was a she". The lady goes "we have two". My brother goes "well, can we speak to her?" and the lady, in a very rude tone goes, "well do you want to hear the same thing twice?" The only reason we argued back was because that lady was extremely disgusting to us. The lady claimed we got an email sent out to us saying our flight was cancelled and it was not. We showed her our phones too. She said "how do I know that you're not lying about the email?" Anyways, we got refunded on our tickets but the reason we were going was for a game the next day (Aug 5). Those tickets are nonrefunable and Spirit Airlines is responsible for that because this was caused by them. We also rented a car for the days we were going to be there, which I also think they're responsible for. The game tickets were $65 each and it was 4 of us. The car rental was $97. All that money went down the drain because Spirit Airlines cancelled all of their flights. I emailed the car rental place and we couldn't get refunded and the guy said that it's the airlines fault for cancelling the flight and they should pay for everything. I will definitely not recommend this airline to anyone. Moral of the story, SPIRIT AIRLINES IS RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING! Soon, this Airline will be out of business. Cons: "They can say what they want but we showed up 20 min prior to the new departure time that was emailed to me. There were about 12 others to my 4. They said too late they already closed the door. This was a lie because we could see people boarding out the window through the open cockpit door through the cockpit. They wait a few minutes, printed the "official close gate" paperwork, told us thy would see what they could do and would be right back. That was now the 15 min before boarding time period. The plane sat there for that 15 and Atleast another 10+ minutes. We watched luggage being loaded and other Things. Another woman came out anc refused to help. She disappeared too. Only once the plane pushed off did the other two come back 30+ min later thinking others would be gone. They hit in the Jetway. Make matters worse went to customer service for help and waited 1.5 hours between both lines to see a supervisor. One rep even confirmed my question of "what do they just hide back there and let you guys be the bad guys" with a pretty much yes that's it. One finally comes and tells us no accommodations. I guarantee they filled out seats and did not know how to undo. I would pay double to never fly with them again. Ruined what was a great week by having two preteen kids subjected to sleeping in a run down airport."

I was in a large group of people that was stopped at TSA and made to re-screen by going through the whole process over again with addition of a sniff by the drug dog. This caused me to RUN to the gate and arrive just as the door shut. Even though I could see the plane sitting there, they would make no accommodations. I missed by flight and had to be booked on another flight leaving 6 hours later."

After that they decided to fly one flight which will be at 11 PM but seats are full. They have issued me 6 AM flight for next day. No one was at customer center to entertain us. Tried reaching spirit people luckily I got stand by in 11 PM flight and I got cleared the stand by list. But I have a very horrible experience with Spirit. They don't entertain people properly"

When I finally found the Spirit Airlines counter in the basement, their electronic kiosk wouldn't work. There was a huge line, so the Spirit employees ignored me. I could not get my boarding pass, even though I would have had time to get through security and run to my gate!!! I had to buy a separate flight on United so I could make it to this wedding. Any refund would be appreciated! Spirit Airlines is horrible!!!"

Cons: "Long lines, flight was unavailable for boarding 45 minutes before take off after already checking in. Machines for printing tickets didn't work. Flight was clearly overbooked, which seems to be their scam, and the service was rude. Tickets were cheap for a reason. Flown with other budget airlines and weren't chaotic or disorganized like this garbage airline. Rather take United and get punched in the face"

Cons: "The airline emailed customers that the flight was delayed by almost two hours. We arrived 1 hour 45 min before the new departure. The website still said the delayed time. When we were trying to check in the service desk told us the plane was being boarded and the delay was no longer needed. We had to take later flight and the girl joked that "at least we weren't as bad as united airlines because they dragged someone off." Terrible experience. There is definitely a reason it's a budget airline. Will never fly with them as long as I live."
