The flights between Zurich and Brindisi were more comfortable than the long haul flights. The long haul flights are abominable and should be outlawed by governments as they are currently configured. The boy next to me literally could not fit his legs/thigh bones in the space provided by his seat. I did okay as I am not tall, until the woman in front of me decided to lean back. It is not her fault, however, though I thought nasty things about her and periodically tried to dig my knees into her back to get her to lift up her seat. The fault belongs entirely to Swiss Air, which chooses to treat human customers as steerage. The only thing that made the experience worse was the impossibility of choosing my seat online for my return because I had only a smart phone with not-great wifi available. Choosing one's seat should not be dependent on having good wifi and a computer, however. It is bad practice to "sell" seat choices. The families around me were not able to sit together because of this shoddy, greedy practice on the part of the airline. It is also not fair, subsequently, that other passengers are faced with giving up the seats they've chosen, or been given, to assist families in sitting together. Honestly, the extent of the greed on the part of airlines nowadays is astonishing. What used to be a thoroughly enjoyable way of traveling has become an ordeal at best."

We took off 50 minutes late from Zurich, with no apparent reason. Worst in years for me. We sat in the plane for 30 minutes and were not offered even water. Big fail! The TSA screening is absolutely unnecessary. It is dehumanizing and has been proven to be in-effective!

Anyone that purchased a Delta 1st Class seat should have access to the Delta Sky Club. My wife and I purchased 1st Class tickets for a Delta flight from SeaTac to Washington Dulles but were denied entrance to the SeaTac Delta Sky Club because we did have an American Express card.

Really accommodating staff, and on flight amenities. I would fly with Delta again.

Apparently Delta had not told the Detroit-Boston flight to wait a few minutes for us. We did make the connection, but we arrived at the gate with no seat assignment (we had been bumped the day before from our original flight because of a mechanical problem) as the plane was loading. Had we missed the flight, we would have had to spend the night in Detroit and go to Boston the next day. Delta should have told the gate agent that we were coming."

Once we are on airplane, they are still shuffling seats around, so ppl cannot move forward. Just standing there for 10mins waiting for things to settle. Flight attendants did not give us a headphone. (I have a headphone for iPhone X so I could not connect it to their entertaiment system.)"

Then to top it off, we’ve landed and been told that it will be at least an hour before we can deplane due to no availability at the gate (it’s 1145 pm right now). All this plus their new policy of not allowing us to select our seats because we bought the cheapest tickets. Really Delta? You go ahead and cater to the rich and I’ll choose to fly with another airline."

This was treated as an inconvenience. During and after boarding, flight attendants addressed passengers rudely when encouraging them to take their seats in a timely fashion. Later, when my seat mate politely asked a FA to repeat the food options, she asked, "Excuse me?" several times and seemed very irritated to have to repeat the choices for him. Also, near the end of the flight, a pillow was on the ground and a FA asked those seated in my row to pick it up. We responded that it wasn't ours and she said something to the effect of, "Oh yeah? So how did it get there?" (Maybe because someone else dropped it and we didn't notice?) The FAs seemed irritated to serve passengers at all. Each time they passed through for beverage or meal service, I felt like I was imposing on them. I have never witnessed anything quite like it. Makes me wonder why they were all so upset and and felt it appropriate to speak and act disrespectfully toward customers. (Delta, do you have any insights?) I hope they all got a good night's rest after that haul."

Now that I've seen Frankfurt, There was no way they could actually expect any of us to make our connecting flights. And they offer no compensation. When I did get another flight, it was terribly delayed. Talking in line with regular European travelers, they said they expect it. Also met several fliers at the service desk attempting to connect via entirely different routes, all having the same experience."
Cons: "Crew was not nice at all. They would skip us along the way while serving others, or even drop ice on us, and never said sorry once (instead, they would say it's only ice, or if I want 2 since they skipped me already twice when serving tea unlike the passengers around me on both sides). We paid nearly $6k for the 3 of us, but the crew made us feel as if we paid nothing. The entertainment system did not work well, and most of the time the movies refused to play. We were always suggested to restart, and were not even given free access to internet as an alternative. No one ever apologized for anything in the entire flight, it felt like this flight was a favor."

Not expected from Lufthansa, especially as I have had great experience with Lufthansa earlier."

Pros: "Boarding was done very quickly. Unlike the norm nowadays, people weren't cramming every single inch of space in the overhead. In addition, the flight wasn't full so my travel companion got to enjoy a full row to himself while I enjoyed an empty seat next to me to stretch out. The food was very good. The staff came by quite a few times to offer orange juice or water. The entertainment syren was excellent. I watched four full movies on the trip and have in mind at least a couple more for the return leg."

She was a bit clipped about having to repeat steps but what was I to do? She never looked up enough to see my hand and clearly didn't look at my face. She also didn't pick up my hand towel. I essentially had to rely on the rest of the crew but the care from this lady started to feel purposefully negligent of me. The rest of the staff was friendly and efficient. I also thought we were supposed to get an appertiff...one was never offered. Couldn't check in online. Was fine once I got to the countr but could you trade space with Asia air? It makes sense to have them at the end as they have a huge hoard of people it would be nice not to have to go through and several spots to check in. Check in at the desk otherwise was smooth and professional."

A friend of mine who had paid extra to get an exit row with extra leg room was inexplicably moved to a normal seat, and was only upgraded when she complained. I was moved from a window seat to an exit row without explanation, unfortunately, this was an exit row where a life raft was attached to the door, leaving me even less leg room than a normal seat would have."

Cons: "1) While there is more room in the front, there is less room in the width because the trays are built into the armrests instead of in the seat in the front. Because of that, the armrests take more space below and remain static, while the normal armrests can be lifted up and have nothing below the armrest. 2) The text describing the "deal" for the exit row, which costs more, said that the seats have limited recline compared to normal seats. The fact is that the window seat did not recline at all. The button stayed pushed in all the way and the seat would not move at all. We do not know whether it was broken or intentionally disabled. 3) The attendant's approach was somewhat dismissive at first, but on the good side, she quickly rectified and came through with offers and a more understanding attitude, she was nice. 4) We brought this up to the flight attendants' attention, but the best they could do was to give us 1 free headset and any food we wanted. This was not much since we did not want the food. A refund for that extra payment for that seat would have been a better move. 5) The middle seat (it's a row of 3), has a metal box hanging from the front seat, taking a bit more than half the width of the space, so you can only put your feet under the right side of the front seat. 6) I don't think we'll do exit rows again on Icelandair. We did it before on other airlines with good results. 7) Not sure how the prices compare per mile with other airlines really, but on Icelandair, if you get the "Economy Standard", you really don't get much, no peanuts or snacks, no food, only soft drinks, no video games, only movies and music, and you have to bring your own headset or buy one, along with that the better classes of service run out quickly (I booked maybe 6 months ahead) and are rather spendy in comparison with standard."

One attendant would situate you and your belongings and then the next would come and make you move everything and this happened more than once before taking off. The attendants were also giving away seats that people had tickets for and forcing a lot of people to move seats more than once. They also would not take trash more than the one time about an hour after the drinks service, so slow drinkers were forced to keep all their trash for the entire flight and ending up leaving it in the seats because no one is going to take their trash off the plane with them when they had asked the flight attendants to take it during the flight and were refused. Also for a 7 hour flight, at least offering pretzels would be polite. The plane slid off the runway upon arrival and then we had to wait 2 hours for a ground crew to come with stairs and a bus to unload us. Communication to the customers was extremely poor during this time, we had almost no idea what was happening, and with where our bags were, we waited in the airport for an hour before they announced that they wouldn’t be unloading our bags for another few hours."

Check-in personnel: They only gave me a single luggage tag for 3 pieces of luggage - they should have given me 3. Would have made tracing lost luggage easier. Employee @ IAD told me that if I didn't show up at the boarding gate 40 minutes prior to boarding that they would remove my luggage from airplane and that I could risk losing flight (wtf?). Icelandair is one of the worst airlines I have ever flown. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. They may offer rates 20% cheaper than other major carriers, but that discount accompanies a steep price. It's an airline run by inexperienced, lackluster, apathetic staff who, frankly, have no business operating an airline. If your options are flying with a major carrier vs Icelandair - and the price difference is a few hundred $: pay the extra money; you'll be glad you did. Icelandair's prices are not low enough to justify all the discomforts and liabilities which accompany them. Look elsewhere. Keep this in mind: I'm a seasoned flyer. This airlines barely ranks one notch up from Ryanair."

When we were given seat assignments at checkin and asked why we'd had no input into the seat selection, they said we should have called in advance. It was really frustrating, especially because we ended up in th back of the plane. I was in a middle seat, winch don't have any space for a bag under the seats in front of them. Then there were no meals served on the overnight flight. I bought a small salad for 12 euros. I have never in my life taken an overnight flight where they don't serve at least dinner, if not both dinner and breakfast. The flight was on time and the attendants were friendly, but I wasn't terribly impressed otherwise."

We called the third-party company to assist with changing flights and, after 40 minutes on hold, JustFly.com said there was nothing they could do and that we needed to contact IcelandAir. After another 60 minutes on hold IcelandAir said there was nothing they could do except rebook us on a new ticket. $2000 later we finally got to go on our honeymoon. Long story short we had to buy all new tickets. JustFly.com only refunded $200 of our original ticket cost after assessing numerous cancellation fees (over $700 in cancel fees). We won't be booming JustFly again. Happy Honeymoon to us, once we finally got there."

There was a lot of sitting on the tarmac and we were delayed getting to our final destination. This is also the first transatlantic flight I have taken with any Airline where there was not at least one complimentary meal on board. Apparently they are reserving that now only for economy Comfort class and up."

Pros: "Service was excellent, and the 777 flight was very comfortable. The flight attendants were remarkable. The ticket agents had difficulty rebooking the London to Milan leg of my flight when that flight was cancelled while I was on the way to the airport, but they were somehow able to get me onto an earlier flight than was originally offered. What I gathered was that the computer was not very cooperative. The ticket agents were incredibly helpful during this process."
Cons: "I lost my original exit row seat somehow and had to inquire into it. I think what happened was that while the ticket agents were able to rebook my cancelled London to Milan flight, my seat reservation on the Seattle to London leg got lost somehow. I suppose another passenger may have grabbed my seat during that rebooking process. I noticed the changed seat assignment only after I left the ticketing counter. I was able to get a different exit row seat (but with less leg room) assigned to me by inquiring with the agent at the gate."
Pros: "We liked that the food and drinks were included. The timing of food and lights going off and on were perfect."
Cons: "The take off was a little shaky but it was our first time on this size of plane, so that might be normal."
Cons: "Luggage did not make it to Paris pit on next flight which in turn was also delayed."

Pros: "Let’s face it, B.A has proper service with friendly crew members, offered up grade to premium economy which I normally take and was more than happy to pay for."
Cons: "3 hours on the plain waiting for take off. Cheap sandwich for breakfast."

Cons: "I'm told (late) that BA does not subscribe to TSA prep in the USA. That meant going to the TSA line first, being rejected, going back to check-in to know the reason, then back to the standard long line. Once onboard my seat's entertainment system dies not work. 3 reset attempted with no luck. A month ago, on another long haul flight the same happened. Food was very bad. Salmon so overdone that it was hard to cut, overcooked vegetables and some lukewarm mash potatoes."
Cons: "I was not allowed to board, because I was told I needed a Turkish Visa, even to change planes, and may have lost my ticket payment."

Pros: "Once the flight was boarding/ boarded it was seamless. The crew were more than happy to meet or exceed your needs with snacks/ meals, blankets and even drinks."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 1hr and 50min and the supervisor was less than accommodating even after my wife and I had told her we had 2more connecting flights this was going to affect. Due to the delay, we spent an additional $211 on flights and spent the night at the airport."

Pros: "The Chief Purser came over to apologize. At the end of the flight, the Captain came to me to apologize on behalf of the airline. (Too little, way too late.)"
Cons: "I am handicapped and the jetway was broken. British Airways took a bad situation and made it worse! Obviously they had no contingency plans and the gate agents just wan't to avoid any responsibility and started blaming the poor man who had been wheeling me all over the airport. ONLY BRITISH AIRWAYS WAS AT FAULT FOR THIS. Eventually they put me on a lift several gates away and then loaded me onto the platform lift of one of those catering trucks that deliver food to the planes and drove me to my plane. The plane door was shut and they had to bang on the door to have them open it and let me board. As a result, I personally delayed the flight (officially) 28 minutes; in reality about 40 minutes. This was one of the most embarrassing and humiliating experiences of my life; to be loaded on a plane like freight!! Is this how British Airways operates??"

Cons: "Flight boarded late, left late, making my connection very tight and my baggage didn't arrive with me. Very inconvenient"

Cons: "Lost luggage - no one cared despite it clearly being lost at check in going down a broken bag shute. Plane was late. BA is losing their upmarket appeal trying to compete with cheaper airlines."

Cons: "Economy seating. Quite cramped.. I would make sure to book at least Premium Economy in the future."

Cons: "London/Heathrow arrivals had us going to gate A and through all the security and then we found after going through the security check (1 hr) we saw that the gate for Flight to Venice was B gates. We are not young people, but we aren't ignorant of travel. There was a lot of running around on our part with a lot of undue stress, when we didn't have to leave the E gates at all. There were no gate assignments posted when we landed until 30 minutes out while we were running back to E gates. There is no excuse for that, except we didn't know til the last minute where we were supposed to go after asking 2 people. Why the second check for security after the states on connecting flights? Is this new?"
Pros: "Crew was polite and professional, despite plane being absolutely packed."
Cons: "Food was really horrendous. Better off sticking with basics like frit, cheese, crackers, sandwiches, etc. If I pay extra for early seat selection, don't guilt me into switching with someone who didnt, because they didnt have enough leg room and had a bad leg. Situation was such that I couldnt refuse. So ended up paying extra for a really crappy seat. Seating chart should indicate where the metal boxes are that affect leg room in certain seats so those with a disability aren't seated there."
Cons: "After a three hour delay- the flight was canceled. Was able to rebook flight for next day but took eight calls to find a room for the night. It was a bit of a nightmare. Had pre paid for up graded seat but one was not available on the re-booked flight."

Cons: "Loading sucked. They couldn't keep those that are not boarding yet out of the way for those in the back of the plane to board first. Made one comment to the crowd and then gave up."
Pros: "Cabin crew were excellent, good food. Nice blankets and pillows, crew allowed 'quiet time' for sleep with no disturbing announcements. At the end of the flight, after people were getting off, they let my airplane-loving son and I look at the 'upper deck' of the 747 and my son got to sit in the captain's chair for a photo."
Cons: "Seats were cramped, no USB or power sockets, older seat-back entertainment screens"

Cons: "Had to ask for water several times, they didn't come around much (hardly at all). Boarding was a joke, way too many "classes" and two doors that all went into one line--so it was slow. They should just do first class then business and call "seats through whatever" instead of gold, silver, bronze or what ever they all were. All toilets ran out of toilet seat wipes so all women had to sit on dirty toilet seats or wipe them down first, no paper protectors either! Gross! BA used to be the best but am afraid it's not the case any longer!"
