I don't know because j never made the flight. I got a completely different time of the flight than what the time really was which caused me to missed the flight. On top of that I was treated rudely whenever I called to get another flight and I was unable to be helped. Additionally I never got a a refund. I am in the military and was out of 1400 moving costs on a flight that wasn't worth it. Never using again
China Southern's economy seats are spacious for legroom and seat width and the entertainment system is well stocked with movies/TV shows/music. Some entertainment systems will also com with a USB port to charge your device (if it's allowed to be used). All seats come with pillow and blanket to keep you warm throughout the flight.
Any mobile devices that can be used as a cell phone are not allowed to be on or used while on board the flight. This includes mobile phones in flight mode (China Southern explained to me that this is Chinese law), so don't expect to do anything with your mobile phone which means you're basically using their entertainment system. They will stop and tell you midflight to turn off your phone.
Food was horrible, no soap in the bathrooms, and boarding/deboarding in Guangzhou was a test of patience. Having been through Guangzhou twice, despite there being multiple gates for planes to pull into for arrival, they'll always deplane you to the tarmac where buses will be waiting. They'll then drive you to an arrival's terminal where you're forced through a long line that leads to a China Southern desk for them to stamp your boarding pass to wait for your next flight. This line was 30 minutes long for our plane alone and increased as more arrived. Boarding was the same where you get on a bus, stand for 10-15 minutes while they drive you to a plane that was for whatever reason was attached to another gate that no one had access to and you've climbing stairs to board again.
The airport itself is devoid of many food or coffee shops and what's available is expensive and of low quality/taste. Expect to see endless construction, many unclean bathrooms where the toilet seats don't even fit the toilet they've been attached to, and lack of soap in the bathrooms.
Check in, seat, cabin, staff. Seat was great for sleep. Arrival was flawless.
Food was not good, worse than economy class on most American Airlines. No booze, just wine with dinner. I would pack food or plan not to eat.
Loading in business class was not good. VIP lounge was not to be found. Loaded with coach per instructions at check in. Found out later - after the fact - to load via VIP.
Flight was an hour late with zero warning or updates.
The boarding process went well and was organized. The cabin staff was welcoming and very presentable. The seats were fine, even in economy. The uniforms on the cabin staff were attractive andnthey looked well on the girls. The staff, both male and female, were friendly and pleasant. The flight was fine, a little late, but not the fault of the airline. I would fly this airline again.
It was barely two hours and that kept me from having to go to a Malaysian hospital.
Having Multiple Sclerosis & extreme neuropathy plus being postop with two major abdominal surgeries just weeks before, I called customer service and they guaranteed my medical needs would be met at the gate. They were not and not having a bulkhead seat on the first 2 hour leg from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur caused me massive pain and circulatory issues - in spite of surgical note requiring it. Not good assistance over phone or in Bangkok.
I liked the planes that were used, very comfortable and excellent staff
- I received an e-mail from Kayak which said my flight was CANCELLED. I didn't enjoy having to call the airline company, Kayak, and priceline to find out whether the flight was really cancelled or just delayed.
- The 4 hour delay, which resulted in me missing my last lay over by an hour, which in turn had me waiting at the airport for an additional 8 hours.
Exceptionally good food for a flight operating in non-traditional meal times. It was fresh, tasty and extremely well presented. The crew was exceptionally pleasant. The aircraft, an Airbus A-330-300, appeared new, clean and in good condition. Clarity in terms of in-flight rules regarding the use and removal of items used by the passenger, like the airline in-flight magazine could have been better.
Check-in personnel were very slow and they failed to give me a seat in the extreme rear section of the aircraft which I prefer for both comfort and safety reasons. I was placed over the aileron, where I was unable to see or do anything.
Entertainment prices were steep, especially when using personal devices. A planewide AV system would have been better. At large, the general experience was excellent despite a 25 minute delay on arrival, MNL.
Our flight was cancelled after sitting on the tarmac for one hour in a light drizzle. We were told the flight was cancelled due to bad weather. Then we were told "just wait in the airport for about 8 hours and maybe your flight will leave then." No comp for a hotel or food vouchers, just a boxed meal that I wouldn't touch. We finally boarded the next flight 8 hours later. Just one meal (if you can call it that) which was a box of cookies and candy, and was supposed to be breakfast! Terrible airline, I would never recommend!!!
there was no possibility to see a movie or something else.
There were only a few screens, without any possibility to see anything.
I phones put on airplane mode were not allowed.
We were for 7 days of holiday in Bali.
The plane arrived one day later, so we only had 6 days of holiday .
Bad service and organization.
We expect a compensation for these inconveniences.
The food was very bad.
We were late leaving and we were even more late arriving even when the pilot came on and told us we would be landing on time
It is a shame that airlines lie about take off and landing times
They tell you the time they lose the gate and the time the whells touch down not the time you are off the plane
I was charged almost three times the amount by the airline than I agreed to pay and what was listed in Kayak.I was charged almost three times the amount by the airline than I agreed to pay and what was listed in Kayak.
