Pros: "same as above"
Cons: "Same as above."
Cons: "Little movie options"
Cons: "Jain vegetarian food"
Cons: "On 11/29, the flight from Beijing to San Francisco was delayed because the incoming plane was late. All passengers were greeted at SFO with instructions for compensation. The instructions read "To claim the currency compensation, passengers must have a debit card issued in mainland China and marked with Union Pay!" If you are not a Chinese resident, you are out of luck!!! Americans be warned: Fly Air China and be treated a second class passengers!"
Pros: "They upgraded my wife and I to an Exit Row, I'm tall"
Cons: "Dirty bathrooms, overall poor sanitary conditions of plane. Once in Beijing we had to go thru Immigration and Security again even though we were just transferring to another international destination (Bangkok) and the lines for both Immigration and Security in Beijing were super long and grossly understaffed. Even with a 2 hour layover we almost missed our connecting flight to Bangkok."
Pros: "Offered an emergency exit seat to make me comfortable. Great crew very polite and helpful Great pilot great landing"
Cons: "14 hour flights are rough on anyone but they made it bareable"
Pros: "Comfort of the plane"
Cons: "Wasn't on the flight"
Pros: "short flight and nice attendants"
Cons: "would like more leg room"
Pros: "Food was good. and more leg room. Also gave you a pillow and blanket. Of course the flight to China was a much larger airplane a Boeing 747, where flight to Sfo was a 737-800 and a smaller Air bus. All my flights made it to destination on time. Or close to it. You should plan on at least 1&1/2 hours between transfers. SFO was under staffed at security long lines, and empty desks. Beijing & Soul airports had smaller lines. The Visa free transit at Beijing worked well."
Cons: "Long time through customs and security especially when transferring from one plane to another. We had carry on luggage but still had to go through baggage claim and exit before transferring to the next flight."
Pros: "Literally nothing. I guess the crew was nice. Sufficient at least and not unpleasant."
Cons: "Where to start. First off, I have flown budget air carriers with more leg room than this pacific international flight. I do admit I am a taller than average guy, but if you are over 6' tall you will have NO legroom. And I mean none. It is an insulting amount of legroom. My 5'6" wife barely had any room, never mind myself. On my flight back, I requested an emergency exit row seat (as I noticed on the flight over the emergency exit row was filled with old people and young couples with babies/ young children). And was informed it would cost $120 USD per flight per person. My jaw almost hit the floor. You mean to tell me that the emergency exit row - the row where in the case of an emergency you are supposed to physically be able to assist passengers - actually COSTS money to sit in? That is an absolute disgrace. You have to pay for the added responsibility to help in the case of an emergency? Of course, once I was on the flight the emergency exit row was filled with old people and babies. All of course perfectly capable of helping in the case of an emergency. I was, and still am furious. The gall to charge that much money and then give the responsibility to people unable to help? Meanwhile, an able-bodied couple in the 20s is denied and I am cramped in my less-than-acceptable-for-budget-airlines legroom. And the food. Putrid. Inedible. It was somehow overwhelmingly fragrant while far too bland. Its hard to imagine someone putting together that meal and feeling proud. The meals all screamed "I do not care about my customers." In fact, that is the overwhelming feeling I got from Air China. An airline that truly could not careless about their customers. I would not reccommend. Even if they are the cheapest by a far margin. Stay away. Do not go near. Air China is a terrible airline that should be avoided at all costs."
Pros: "Courtesy & willingness of crew to respond effectively"
Cons: "After long, chaotic lines to transfer planes in Beijing to head to Shenzhen I was showing my passport to the security guard, and suddenly he calls for someone, and another guard walks away with my passport. I had no idea what was going on. I wasn't told to follow him, but he had my passport, so I followed the guard to get my passport back, and the guard hands me my passport, laughs, and points upward. I walk upstairs and see a mess of lines. A bunch of flights were canceled due to a small storm. The machines to rebook a flight were broken, so I had to wait in a line for 2+ hours in order to rebook a flight for the following day. We were told that there would be a complimentary hotel, but I waited in a line for an hour to inquire about a hotel room, only to be told where my luggage was. They could have held up a sign saying where everyone's luggage was, instead of misleading us, saying it was a line for a hotel room. My suitcase was in a pile of suitcases from all the flights that were canceled, and was difficult to find. After spending 6 hours at the airport sorting out new travel plans, I ended up with no place to sleep, but fortunately found a friend of a friend to stay with. The next day, I arrived at the airport for my new flight, with no seat assignment. I waited in a long line to get a seat, then went to board the plane, and the flight was delayed 3 hours. Overall, it took 34 hours to arrive in Shenzhen after leaving San Francisco. If I had automatic updates sent to my email, or, if there was signage at the airport giving people information, that would have been helpful for the crowds of confused people. I also might have had a chance to reroute my flight Hong Kong to get in earlier, but I had no idea what was going on. There was terrible communication that was not due to a language barrier."
Pros: "Nice stewardesses"
Cons: "Can't use cellphone in airplane mode! Should have been warning about this. 2 hour delay with no explanation"
Cons: "delay for 4 hours from JFK to peking, then we missed connecting flight. We can't find our luggage and services is horrible."
Pros: "Clean plane delay"
Cons: "Missed my connection in Beijing . I was told by the hotel provided by the airlines that I had to stay in double room with a total stranger! food and services at the golden Phoenix. Food at the hotel was the worst ,"
Cons: "The airline booked but connector with 2 hours from landing. The initial flight was delayed taking off. I advised the airline attendant that we were not going to make our connector and if she could alert the connecting flight. She told me no and to just try to make it. We walked up to the gate to see my flight to the states backing away from the concourse. No one was at the gate. IT took 2 1/2 hours to get through immigration to the airline desk and for them to tell me the next flight is the following day. I eventually got on another airline to get home. There was NO HELP whatsoever to get through this process."
Cons: "Couldn't check-in online from Beijing. Food is barely edible. Airline stewardess were not the friendliest people. Seats were lumpy. Bathroom faucet was corroded."
Cons: "More delay from Beijing to Guangzhou."
Pros: "With 1 hour connection for international flights to Europe, I almost missed my connection with many other passengers. Luckily, the other connecting flight was delayed so passengers could connect."
Cons: "No use of cellphone even after take off and landing."
Pros: "one flight the attendant thanked me for being gold The agents at red house for gold members in Shenzhen were amazingly helpful in getting me a flight in time to connect when mine was badly delayed, really helpful"
Pros: "Everything worked, boarded quickly and crew served passengers efficiency. Luggage was already on the conveyor belt when I arrived."
Pros: "enjoy movies"
Cons: "after a long flight overnight，breakfast and lunch are combined as brunch at 1:30pm melbourne time - but chicken rice /pork rice definitely are not so exciting ！"
Pros: "The service and other features o nth trip were pretty much on par with what you would expect from international airlines, so nothing to write home about these."
Cons: "1) Missed connection - my flight from New Delhi, CA 948, took off about a half hour late, resulting in a delay in landing in Beijing, and me missing my connecting flight to Washington DC. Not sure whom the blame for the delayed flight lies with, but the time gap between the two flights was only an hour, and this delay added about 12 hours to my journey, including a forced stay in Beijing. While the airline provided free accommodation and assisted in changing the flight, this error should not have happened at all in the first place. I guess I knew this possibility existed when I booked the flight, but I was hoping the airline would be competent enough to avoid it."
Pros: "Nice plane, nice crew, no problems."
Cons: "Plane was empty and passengers were not allowed to spread out for more room and comfort."
Cons: "Service!!! Not great communication with customers. The line fir cancelled flight was disorganized and wait for 4 hours."
Pros: "In general, the food was good. The crew was helpful and friendly."
Cons: "The boarding was a mess that the staffs did not enforce the boarding in a orderly manner that caused blocking in flight for seating."
Pros: "food is good"
Cons: "We were arranged to a non-adjacent seat and far away."
Cons: "Food to be improved"
Pros: "Quick boarding, good service from flight crew"
Cons: "Limited entertainment offerings, quality of food can be improved."
Pros: "the flight was smooth and well operated"
Cons: "i am not a big guy but the chair was very uncomfy. entertainment was for chinese mostly the food was horrible. i went through 12 hours with no food the crew cant really speak english"
