Pros: "I had to swap seat to be able to access the loo easily from an Isle seat"
Pros: "The crew was good"
Cons: "The seats"
Pros: "Crew was great. Flight on time."
Cons: "Everything else"
Pros: "Ground crew very responsive to needs"
Cons: "non existing beverage service on a two and one half hour flight :("
Pros: "Flight on time"
Cons: "Could not find any electric power for my computer in terminal 5 Seats totally incomfortable, no good support for my back, less space for my long legs in this intercontinental flight than in the previous Geneva-Heathrow flight. Food far too greasy, no fruit, no vegetables. No electrical power for the computer, only for the phone. And the landing in Boston: the captain just "threw" the plane on the runway. I thought he had a lot of cross wind. Talked to him later. Told me this was the normal procedure ?? The crew: some are doing very well, with enthusiasm, some of them could do another job."
Cons: "they have increased the layover time"
Pros: "Direct flight and excellent service from attendants"
Cons: "Seat selection was changed to middle seats without prior notice and the seats are so close together , when the women in front reclined her seat the dinner tray did not fit. An attendant eventually asked her to put her seat upright. Once dinner was over, back to a recline position, far too closer to the seat behind."
Cons: "Delayed, had to pay for beverages, tight seating"
Cons: "I would never book a ticket through BA ever! Paid business class and my luggage got forgotten in Heathrow through transit. No one knows anything about it. I have arrived to san Francisco with no language at all!!!!"
Cons: "We had a horrible experience in boarding BA both in Chicago and returning from London. In both instances, our seats were held back, told the flight was oversold (we booked 90 prior to the flight, and almost didn't get on the flight returning home. Our confirmed flight was meaningless. I'll never use Kayak again."
Pros: "Nothing to like about it. We were flying into JFK on Delta and our flight was delayed because of a navigational issue which in turn meant that we were going to miss our British Airways connection. When we attempted to contact kayak to see about moving us to another flight nobody bothered to help us we lost our entire round-trip flight on British Airways and we lost $1,000."
Cons: "The fact that nobody is willing to take ownership of trying to help a passenger when they are need in a situation that they had no control over. Also please see above for additional what I didn't like"
Cons: "I didn’t like that I paid for first and received terrible service in the air and on the ground"
Cons: "Almost missed my flight. They had no confirmation of the booking even though it had been done a month earlier. Called the customer service and they kept directing me to go figure things out with the airport staff. It was a very frustrating experience. Took almost 4 hrs to confirm that the flight had been paid for."
Cons: "12 hour delay. Very disappointed with British airways"
Cons: "Service was incredibly slow Seats were tight No USB port or charger Tiny entertainment screens Forced to check laptop despite this not being a standard with any other airline for the same route"
Pros: "The room on plane to Heathrow, wouldn’t know about way back considering I had to rebook onto Air India..."
Cons: "Just the fact that BA decided to hold us in UK for 6 hours to get their full pay and the fact that Heathrow ground crew had not enough de icing equipment and resources were at an all time poor response. Three hour lines for checking on status of bags, status of flights, unable to book a hotel through BA and got nothing from them. I didn’t enjoy freezing and staying there in Heathrow freezing... plus I didn’t fly this flight home due to fears of them not being able to handle a coating of snow versus what loads of snow we recieve in the states. I had to take Air India home to the US AND HATED IT... thank you BA and especially Heathrow Number one for lack of response and total irresponsibility..."
Pros: "The flight was on time and really nothing important has happened - and that was good. I also liked that the British Airways wished us Merry Christmas instead Happy Holidays I've been hearing here in the US where people's correctness really sucks."
Cons: "Everything was ok thus I'm not complaining."
Pros: "British Airways overbooked this flight and made it unclear if I can board my flight. Overbooking is such a greedy behavior and airlines should refrain from engaging in this dubious policy. It is the second time this happens to me with BA."
Cons: "Absolute nightmare dealing with British cancelled flight and then having them rebook me with American, their "partner" company. Spent three hours this morning dealing with these two unprofessional companies and their lack of communication between each other."
Pros: "The crew & procedures were excellent. Perfect timing. I sleep or meditate most of the flight--that's why I rated entertainment a N/A. I know movies, etc. are available; I just don't avail myself of them."
Cons: "The vegan meal was mediocre--a "fresh fruit" platter would be an ideal option."
Cons: "For the 2nd time, neither me or my husband got our food choice...it has happened everytime we have flown. And we purchased full fare business class seats! I can understand once and maybe for one of us but it has happened EVERY time. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I sadly left my laptop onboard and I called the number for SFO BA Lost and Found for 48 hours....every 20 minutes. NO ONE answered and no one returned my messages. I finally had to drive back to the airport to talk to a human....a 5 hr round trip. No laptop turned in and it didn't turn back up in London. So clearly, cleaning crew stole it. That in its own right is a problem but NO ONE returning my calls. Completely unacceptable. I got the duty manager's email and emailed him TWICE over TWO days before he returned my email. I highly doubt I will fly BA again, I'm afraid."
Pros: "They had a lot of entertainment options"
Cons: "I was skipped over when they served dinner"
Pros: "Food was ok."
Cons: "One of the worst business class experiences I ever had. Seats are small (7 per row, 3 of which are facing backwards). If you have a non aisle seat you need to climb on top of another passenger to get up (which is unacceptable I'm business class)"
Pros: "Crew was nice"
Cons: "Seats were uncomfortable"
Cons: "Flight was operated by Qatar Airways due to strike of some BA union. Aircraft was old and seats not very comfortable. Boarding process was a bit haphazard. (No row-by-row boarding). Even though it was an international flight, there was just a plain sandwich for food."
Pros: "The updates"
Cons: "Paid extra for seats that I did not get"
Cons: "I ordered a ginger ale onboard. When the stewardess took my order and went to swipe my card, he made a comment that sometimes they have difficulties with USA credit cards. He tried 3 different cards and then when nothing worded, he asked if I had pounds to pay with. I stated no, that I had Croatian crowns, Euros or US Dollars on me at that point in time. He then looked over at me and very rudely asked me why in the heck I ordered the drink to begin with. I was already embarrassed that he was having trouble with my cards so to yell at me in front of everyone so much to the point the lady in the next row heard hi and offered to buy my drink for me. I would like to point out that even he made the remark that the machine sometimes has difficulty taking US cards. How was I supposed to know that none of the three cards that I had on me wouldn't work. I never had any issues with either of those three cards after that incident. They worked just fine so it was clearly an issue with your machine not my cards. I feel it was very inappropriate for him to treat me that way (especially over a stupid soda). My luggage then didn't make it to Ibiza in time because it got stuck in London due to my short layover. If BA can't figure out how to get the luggage transferred within that short of a period, they should not offer flights that close to each other. Secondly, I left a really nice down pillow and bag on my flight from London to Ibiza and I checked the lost in found at the Ibiza airport and it was never turned in. I never recommend BA to anyone."
Pros: "The flight crew were nice, the flight was over before they could even finish drink service."
Pros: "Comfortable. Great flight attendants"
Pros: "the only somewhat helpful person was the customer service attendant that i called the day before i flew who tried his best to be helpful after the worst flying experiences i have ever had"
Cons: "the lack of anyone willing to assist me in the airport, over the phone, online. i was not able to check in had to call customer service several times because i was getting hung up on or told that nothing could be done to check me in, issue me boarding passes or just answer general questions. Went to the airport 3 hours prior for a transatlantic flight like recommended (6:45). The attendants showed up to the desk at 8, with no sign as to when they would show up even though the desk was getting called constantly starting at 7am. was told that in dublin we would have to check in to flight and we would be assigned seats then. even thought the attendant printed our boarding passes for the connecting flight but did not give them to us. When in dublin was told that we had already been checked in and we could have been assigned our seats in madrid by the connections desk. When talking to others on same flight they told us they were allowed to checkin into all flights and had no issues at the airport"
Cons: "Had to pay for any food or drink."
Pros: "Mobility assistance was great help after reaching to Phoenix, USA. Staff and crew members were very helpful."
Cons: "I was a sardine in a tiny tin for 10 hours."
Pros: "Friendly staff and decent food, loved the entertainment and maps screen."
Cons: "We paid for upgraded seats but ended up at the rear of the plane? Very disappointing, I have a refund request in the works."
Pros: "Efficient check in and boarding. And friendly staff."
Pros: "very friendly and helpful staff. by chance small upgrade to comfortable seats next to the emergency exit."
Cons: "no food, no entertainment system, no facility to charge cell phones."
Pros: "We didn't crash."
Cons: "No leg room at all. Felt like a sardine in a can. Not even water is free. Staff were horribly inefficient with the snack cart They finished 15 minutes before landing on a 2 hour flight!"
Pros: "British Airways was very accommodating. I enjoyed the journey."
Cons: "Too much Indian based food....too much curry....."
Cons: "British Airways had many, many problems getting people through to their connections at Heathrow. Our flight arrived from Rome two hours late causing us to miss our flight to San Jose. We then stood in line for 5 HOURS in Heathrow only to watch every potential flight to a connection in the US take off from the tarmac. They were understaffed and did not seem to care about the line that went winding down the hallway of the airport. BA put us up in a hotel all the way out in Gatwick (an airport an hour away and back) because they already filled every room at Heathrow airport. We had to fly into SFO through an entirely different airline the next day instead of BA to San Jose and then take an UBER home from there. Worst travel experience I have ever had."
Pros: "Crew and choice of movies were excellent"
Cons: "Loading sucked. They couldn't keep those that are not boarding yet out of the way for those in the back of the plane to board first. Made one comment to the crowd and then gave up."
Pros: "Flight was comfortable and crew was very helpful!"
Cons: "Be on time!"
Cons: "Baggage lost."
Cons: "I'm a tall person and there wasn't an option to get a seat with any extra leg room. Additionally, the gate staff were not helpful or informative about the flight and rushed when it was time to board."
Pros: "The free entertainment."
Cons: "Everything was great."
Pros: "Ease of boarding with the group numbers"
Cons: "The captain had the crew return to their seats during drink service due to turbulence. Despite the fact that there was 2 and half hours remaining in the flight and the turbulence was gone, they never returned to complete the drink service."
Pros: "Very courteous crew.pilot was amazing!! Landed in tough wind"
Cons: "Never knew flying domestically with a company named American would be so impossible. A true joke. Never had such difficulties traveling about. Super unsatisfiee and will not be traveling with them again. I urge everyone considering to purchase other airlines as well."
Pros: "The flight attendant was super super nice and helpful"
Cons: "Had to rush to catch this connecting flight. At boarding time, which we just made, the previous flight had just landed and people starting to deplane. All we would have wanted was an accurate announcement versus an unfriendly feeling from the gate agent"
Cons: "I hate American airlines. It is the WORST. We were held for almost 4 hours waiting for "maintenance call" then flight was cancelled. THEN it took two full hours to get back checked bags. By ths point it was 5 pm, had been at airport since 8:30 -- no food offered, no apologies, not even a glass of water. Of course, no flights back to US so I was stuck an extra day, completely messed up school and work. I THOUGHT I was booking with Iberia but it was a code share. I WILL NEVER fly American Airlines again!"
Cons: "The flight was cancelled. I didn't receive a refund or free hotel accommodations. I've been on flights in Africa where free hotel accommodations were standard for a layover over 3 hours. A little embarrassing that an airline in America can't afford a hotel for people stranded in a city overnight."
Cons: "We were rushed onto the plane to sit on the tarmac. After waiting to take off for 45 minutes, we were told that our route had been closed and they were looking into other options. This was a flight from NYC to DC, route is closed? Once we finally got into the air, all was good."
Cons: "ATC delay on take off and then a 10 min wait for a gate a DCA. Just disappointing in adding delays."
Pros: "Pulled from get on time. Short hold on runway. Easy landing."
Cons: "Still arriving in Washington where we have no gate. Being on time stinks because you still sit on runway. AT the destination. I would focus on quicker turn around and less accommodation of highly variable flight times in tight NE corridor"
Cons: "We sat on the tarmac after landing for 40+ minutes."
Cons: "They could've fed us or least gave us more drinks when we were rerouted and stick in the Norfolk airport for hours."
Cons: "Plane from BDL was delayed which led do a missed connection in DCA. Rebooked on the 335 pm flight which is 3 hours later than my original arrival time. Very inconvenient for me as I had previous plans."
Pros: "Good view"
Cons: "Breakfast does not have good things to eat. Too cheap ones.."
Cons: "When the pilot took off at LGA he said "everyone here is trying to take off at the same time" so we'd be delayed by 30 min. Not once was there a mention of any other reason. By the time we got to DC I had JUST missed my connecting flight. It was listed nowhere on the departures screen and I realized I had to take an outdoor bus to the other half of the "c" terminal which was very confusing. I got there and had missed the connecting flight and stand in line for 20 min for someone to tell me that I would be stuck in DC overnight. At this point rain had started pouring and they told me that because my mishap was due to weather they would provide no meal or hotel voucher. Weather was not the issue and I was stuck in DC overnight by myself and not compensated for hotels or meals."
Pros: "The crew was good."
Cons: "Washington airport grounded our flight for no apparent reason while we were on the runway in Indy about to take off, then didn't tell us when we could expect the delay to end."
Pros: "Everythingit was good"
Cons: "$75 to pay to change the time of flight, is a lot of money for a person who has roundtrip tickets on the same da"
Cons: "First was delayed resulting in me running from one gate to the other only to find out the 2nd flight is also delayed. Then boarded plane sat on tarmack with no AC for over an hour. Then when we got to final destination had to sit on tarmack again for another 1/2 hour because no gate to unboard. Resulted in almost losing hotel room and having to pay crazy price for in room service. Now suffering due to not enough sleep. AA did not offer ANYTHING for the trouble. Almost treated it as business as usual."
Pros: "Easy boarding, good leg room, clean, on time (actually left 2 min early)"
Cons: "Only gave out water more than halfway through the flight. Flight attendants seemed unhappy to be there and i was afraid to ask them for anything. My bag was force checked even though it would have fit in the overhead."
Pros: "Average flight nothing exceptional or poor."
Cons: "Orlando airport and security checkin was horrific. The most disorganized I've ever experienced. Horrific!!!"
Pros: "Arriving at destination"
Cons: "The airlines have made the aisles and seats so narrow their is no comfort or personal space. Reminds me of the trailers packed with pigs headed to slaughtered. Except we pay. And when fuel prices fell out tickets did not. TSA lines taking two hours due to total incompetency of the Fed government."
Pros: "The flight attendant for our section was very friendly and attentive to everyone."
Cons: "Drink service was delayed and cups were a little light..."
Pros: "Fast, fast flight that even arrived early. Crew gracious and helpful. The fare was cheaper than Amtrak."
Cons: "USB port at my seat didn't work, no inflight entertainment screen because I was on an older plane. But for such a brief flight, that's not much to complain about."
Cons: "Just wish they had electricity to charge gadgets on the flight (even Megabus has that these days!)"
Cons: "Delayed by approximately 1.5 hours"
Pros: "The fact that I got home"
Cons: "AA first delayed the flight, then delayed it again, then cancelled it. While their automatic message said they would reschedule my trip and call me with the new information, having relied on this before only to receive a recorded message two hours later saying they could not reschedule and asking me to call them, I called them right away - only to spend 90 minutes on hold. Then the AA agent tried to book me on two flights that ultimately did not have seats. Finally she booked me on a flight that was 24 hours later--and when I got to the airport, I had to spend another 20 minutes at the counter because, according the counter person, the AA agent did not get the details right. AA cancelled my flight and yet all other airlines kept flying. This is the third time I have flown AA and the third time that they have cancelled my flight and delayed my trip home by 24 hours or more. I've lost three days of vacation due to AA. I will not fly them any more."
Pros: "Great crew!!"
Cons: "There was no food onboard. Entertainment was of the overhead variety."
Cons: "Seats are terrible."
Pros: "Newer equipment"
Cons: "Laughably long line for bathroom, zero legroom"
Cons: "They cancelled our flight three times and would not try to give us a direct flight. We ended up booking a whole new flight with Jet Blue!!!"
Pros: "A newer plane."
Cons: "Flight was delayed for more than 40 mins."
Pros: "Plane took off and landed at the exact time Seats plenty a room ."
Cons: "Plane was late arriving then they took forever to board. Once in board we find out that they can't take off because they need to fix the "entertainment system" but apparently they sent the wrong technician who didn't know how to fix it and had to wait for the right one. I'm not even sure what had to be fixed since there wasn't even any entertainment offered after they fixed it. Once we arrived there were about 100 bags sitting in the bag claim and an equal number of people standing around waiting for bags. None of which was associated with our flight. Then it took forever to get the luggage out for our flight."
Cons: "My first flight was cancelled on Sunday. I was rebooked for Tuesday morning, and then thay flight was cancelled too. I was told there were no more flights to DC until Saturday, which was totally unacceptable for me. I got on standby to a flight to Philadelphia but had to rent a $220 rental car in order to get home at a reasonable time."
Pros: "The flight was pretty standard. No food, of course, and kind of subpar entertainment. But, the crew was fine and boarding was fine."
Cons: "We circled for awhile, not American's fault, but it didn't make for a more pleasant flight especially in the cramped seats that American's planes have."
Pros: "Seat was comfortable and crew were friendly. Flying experience was OK."
Cons: "Status was not recognized - as an EXP traveling in Economy, no snack provided. Agent at Admirals Club in Chicago wasn't aware that transcon flight I had later in the day provided for lounge access."
Pros: "Quick and efficient boarding. Would've liked to picked my seat beforehand"
Cons: "7 hours late departure for the flight to be diverted to another airport. To get home I had to drive two hours from the diverted airport to DCA where I was headed. Along the way the crew was great, but American is run by someone who does not care about customer service. I won't be flying with American anymore."
Pros: "2 hour flight and a 3 hour layover was ok break in-between flights chance to get food."
Pros: "It was actually to Philly, because AA cancelled my original connecting flight out of DC."
Cons: "On the flight back home, AA cancelled my connecting flight, and did not bother to notify me, even though I have my account set up for them to notify me of flight changes. If not for the Kayak app on my phone, I would have flown to an airport where I may well have been stranded for hours, if not the following day, for a flight that no longer existed, since I had already checked-in on-line and would have gone directly to my first flight. Thanks to flight status monitoring by Kayak, I got an email from Kayak telling me that the flight was cancelled before I left for the airport so that I could go to an AA desk. They were particularly unhelpful and uninformed, and it was only sheer luck that I was able to get on the first flight I was on stand-by. I know this sounds like a commercial, but put the Kayak app on your smartphone and don't travel without it. AA will quite happily leave you stranded without it!"
Cons: "Now that American has completed their takeover of US Air, they have downgraded the planes on the CHS/DCA route to crappy little Canadair regional jets. Boarding/disembarking at DCA is via bus at the dreaded cattlecar gate 35X. What was a pleasant flight experience on US Air is now something to dread. Fortunately, Jet Blue also flies this route with full size planes and boarding gates."
Pros: "The flight itself was uneventful, but I was extremely dissatisfied having to reschedule 2 flights on very short notice"
Cons: "I had a 3 leg trip: Seattle to NY to DC to Seattle. First my early morning non-stop flight from Seattle to NY was cancelled around 5 PM the previous day. I was able to get on another flight with one stop and was stuck in middle seats for both flights - although I had paid for a premium seat on the nonstop flight that was cancelled. Then I got notified around noon that my 5:15 PM flight from NY to DC that day was cancelled. American left me a voice mail that they had automatically rebooked me for the following day without checking to see if that worked for me - despite that fact that they had other same day flights available! I was able to rearrange my schedule and get on an earlier flight - but was extremely unhappy with the short notice, and their assumption that I would be fine getting in the next day!"
Pros: "I arrived safely. No ill-behaved passengers."
Cons: "Cannot get seat assignments on line. "Sorry!" says the message. Late take-off from BDL. Gate attendant doesn't like answering questions and could be friendlier. Having to check roller planeside. Would prefer a larger plane. Plane could have been cleaner. Delay at DCA while waiting for jetway. Couldn't robots move the jetways to the planes?"
Cons: "Overall the flight was great. I was carrying a suit in a hanging bag and asked the flight attendant in first class if there was a place I could hang it. She politely offered to hang it behind the last row of first class since none were in use. When getting off the plane, I grabbed my bag as I walked off and the other flight attendant said "you can't put your bag there, it isn't for you" to which I replied that I was told I could use the hanger. She then said "well you shouldn't have been given permission, and don't do it again, it isn't for you." The tone was a bit rude, and maybe the consistency should be reviewed."
Pros: "I didn't fly American to Melbourne. I flew American to LA then flew Qantas to Melbourne. I would never fly and American owned are line to Australia again. They are just not as good at it as Qantas"
