Indonesia AirAsia has waived its change and cancellation fees on flights from Surabaya Juanda to Kuala Lumpur Intl. Confirm policy on booking site.
Malaysia has restricted entry to all travelers through at least December 31, except for citizens, permanent residents with a MyPR card, diplomats, embassy employees, and spouses or children of Malaysian nationals, who must have a sticker label visa in the passport specifically indicating this status. Travelers with a Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) permit and a printed entry permit from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and students with a student pass for a Malaysian institution may also enter the country. On July 11, Malaysian Immigration issued updated guidelines for expatriate, skilled worker, and knowledge worker pass holders and their dependents to request permission to return to Malaysia. These guidelines also include instructions for pass holders currently in Malaysia who wish to depart and then return to Malaysia. Check the Malaysian Immigration website for more information.
From August 17, all foreign residents who are returning to the country will be required to complete an application on the MYEntry online platform. Airline crew must present a "Health Declaration Form" upon arrival, are subject to quarantine until their next flight, and must install the 'MySejahtera' app.
All arriving travelers will be tested on arrival, and are subject to a 14-day quarantine requirement in a government facility. All costs for the quarantine are borne by the traveler. Travelers will be required to download the MySejahtera application and will be issued a wristband for identification and monitoring by the authorities during their quarantine period. Foreigners with valid visas or work permits who entered Malaysia BEFORE the MCO began on March 16 may enter Sarawak without quarantine, but must request advance permission from the Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC). Foreigners with valid visas or work permits who entered Malaysia during the MCO will be subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine in a government facility at their own expense, and must first request advance permission from SDMC. As of July 28, all foreigners who enter Sarawak from overseas will be required to undergo COVID-19 testing on the second and tenth day. They will be responsible for covering the costs of their quarantine and testing. More information is available here.

They said that we now would have to wait another day just to get a flight from Singapore to LAX. We asked to speak with a manager, and eventually were able to get two seats due to cancellations. This was intended to be a very special and romantic trip that was essentially ruined. Since no one could have anticipated that the volcano would cause cancellation, we should be refunded for our flights. We are so crushed that we did not get to go to Bali, and now we may NEVER get to go because we are out of money. At the VERY least, the leg of our flights from Singapore to Bali, and Bali to Singapore, should be refunded. We are extremely disappointed."

Because of the inconvenience, including not having our luggage for an entire day, my wife feeling ill, and this loss of her valued item of clothing, we believe we deserve some compensation. You do it all yourself. Flight was on time. The aircraft was newer and clean. This airline is perhaps more dependable than some of the other smaller low cost Asian airlines. Food and entertainment got low rating because there was none really but this was only an hour long flight."

The price seemed decent and we got the hours we wanted...there was no option to add baggage when I was booking the ticket so I assumed the baggage was included (like on many international flights.) When we got to the airport, our flight was over two hours delayed...We wanted to switch to another flight instead because we had a whole day planned, but they said because it was through a third-party we were not able to do that and there was no way to contact kayak directly. So we were forced to wait and when we went to go check in our luggage they tried to charge us $60 for 15 kg and $20 for every additional kilogram. They said it was too late to get the online price (which was half of that amount) My luggage was 25 kg which amounted to an additional $200 which ended up costing MORE than my round trip flight. Jetstar is the worst airline I have ever flown. I emailed kayak for a refund or some customer support after the nightmare we dealt with ON New Year’s Day and still have yet to hear back about this matter. Going back to solely booking airlines directly or through Expedia because at least you can get in touch with them when things go wrong."

Our early evening Bali flight was delayed by almost an hour; more importantly, the bus-to-arrival, baggage claim, bus-to-international terminal-with-luggage took nearly ninety minutes to figure out and execute (not AirAsia's fault, obviously, but still a planning issue). Adding the long walk from check-in to gate and the immigration process meant in the end we made our connection with less than thirty minutes to spare. Otherwise the flight was fine. No complaints about the ticket price either."

Finally one agent at the counter informed me that I'm allowed to have two handbags so I can remove some staff from my suite case and carry them as handbag which was never mentioned before from any other agent .and this 120 usd were never mentioned on the website as I'm an airline staff as well and I know how to read terms and conditions. Above all I tried to write feedback online guess what !? They don't have this option. First and last time I fly with this cheap airline I'm not willing to pay money to get insulted"

Limited meal options which we were charged an extra 30% through a poor exchange rate for, still fairly convinced the staff pocketed that money as it didn't say anywhere that they were going to charge that amount extra. No complimentary drink, not even water. Won't fly air Asia again. Cheap and you get what you pay for, but after that baggage charge there were definitely cheaper, better options out there."
