Also, the plane was very old and very hot...even though it was only a one hour flight, it was very uncomfortable and outdated."

The flight flew off course for almost 30 minutes, while the flight attendants required everyone to remain seated due to supposed turbulence. We felt no turbulence for almost 25 mins. No update was given to passengers while we flew far off course. I motioned to the flight attendant, who was seated due to turbulence warning, to ask why we were off-course, but she could not get up. Many passengers were pointing to the flight path animation, to point out that we were flying straight north, instead of southeast. The flight attendant then called the captain for an update, and then the captain finally made an announcement about weather delays around shanghai."

Pros: "Movie Selection was awesome on the Vancouver-Narita trip. I thought I was gonna miss the my last leg of the trip to Okinawa on a codeshare with ANA. As the Vancouver leg arrived a bit late. But the ANA staff found me and told me I had a later flight because of a 20 minute delay! It was awesome service, they also gave me a ride directly to Haneda Airport as that was where the later flight was."

"Sorry, we're sold out of that." This was on the way to Hong Kong, where they may load up on some of the catering items, but not on the duty free. Strange for an LCC to be so low on inventory, which is a huge part of their revenues. My other gripe is that the only source of water in the holding area at Okinawa's LCC terminal was, like the flight afterward turned out to be: sold out. Oh, and they split the two of us up upon checking in (two hours prior to the flight) by seating us on opposite sides of the plane. I can't believe the entire rest of the plane paid for confirmed seats and left only single seats. Like AirAsia, Peach has Navitaire's reservation system, and apparently, like AirAsia, Peach intentionally splits groups up in the hopes that they will pay to sit together. If this is the case, it is wrong. I agree with LCCs' notion that baggage is a service, for example (at least seven people handle a bag on a nonstop flight), or selling food rather than giving it away. But it is really low to intentionally cause discomfort and then charge to relieve it."
Pros: "The price is good and they offer some of the best prices around Japan and East Asia. As far as LCC's go they aren't the worst. If you're motivated only by price, then Peach is fine."
Cons: "The service of Peach is pretty much non-existent. Their staff seem to be very poorly trained, they are no proficient in English, they do no communicate well and seem to only be interested in getting you crammed into the plane (and out of it) as fast as possible. Their flights are often delayed, you can safely assume you will leave at least 30 minutes past the scheduled departure time. On the plane you will get nothing but a seat so don't expect anything else."

Therefore I went and booked with Kayak which only allowed me to book a flight but, not pay for luggage. After booking I went to jet star. AS I had not paid for luggage at time of book, Luggage prices were doubled. I talked to them and they said tough."

Cons: "As our suitcase got detected as containing prohibited items inside (turned out to be camera battery), we were stopped at the boarding gate only to be given the explanation that because the security people were somehow unable to open up our suitcase (with the passcode lock already unlocked), at least one of us had to stay behind. Also since the only other plane that day had only one seat left, and that we had to pay for a new ticket for a flight the day after, I had to be separated with my partner and painfully wait for him for the entire afternoon and evening on the other side (what's more, the membership lounges at the destination airport only let in people with departing flight tickets). In short, we couldn't accept the fact that the airport people merely couldn't get the suitcase open, which caused all the inconvenience afterwards."
Cons: "Everything! Terrible web site to work with. Wrong information on web site caused wrong booking. The wrong booking was discovered immediately but could not contact rep on chat or phone. Argued in vain at the airport. Forced to change the flight time by basically buying all three tickets for my family of three anew. Then discover our three small pieces of hand luggage that we hand-carried from the US were all over weight (each allowed a measly 12 pounds limit ended up paying luggage charge of $70 each. This is highway robbery other words to describe it."

She took approximately 15 minutes per person because she scrutinized everyone's passport beyond just the regular review. She asked when my student visa was up although the date was printed and if I had a resident ID and my student card to prove it. What really got me is that my carryon was 7 kilos, the designated limit, BUT then she made me weigh my PURSE. Since my purse was an extra kilo, I had pay 40 USD to check a 7 kilo bag."

I bought a 20kg bag in advanced, but my bag was only 15kg. My carry on weighted 13kg, so they charged me 2800yen for that 3kg and forced me to check my bag as well. the one that I checked (15kg) is a very small luggage and has no space so I cannot put that extra 3kg in. I explained to the ground staff that my carry on has a laptop in it and it weighted more than 3kg, she insisted that I have to check the bag and pay extra... I was sad. and tired."

Cons: "The check in process was slow and painful. It took almost an hour. They wouldn't let us check in more than 2 hours early and when we went at the designated time, it took so long that we barely made our boarding time. We ended up paying an extra $350 for our luggage. It didn't save any money in the long run. They didn't even offer water to anyone. You had to pay for any kind of food or beverage."

Cons: "Not impressed with JetStar. It's a far cry from the service you get on JAL. Due to overly strict baggage weight limit checks at the check-in counter, the queue for check-in was excessively long. While the queue was only for the passengers heading to the same destination of the flight, the delay of boarding caused by weighing all the bags for each customer, and then forcing people to abandon personal property to shed weight, repack and reweigh bags, meant the departure of the aircraft was delayed. No one missed the flight, but it was delayed. Also no one got to have any leisure time in the airport terminal as nearly every customer was struggling to abandon excess baggage weight, then had to scramble through security to get to the gate.Dumping weight created a lot of waste of perfectly good things people were prevented from taking on the flight, and had no chance to send by post. It also generated a lot of extra baggage fees for the airline purporting to operate a budget airline option for customers. If you go over the weight limit you are hit with high over baggage fees, voila, profit for them and lower fares for some. On board: There is very limited overhead cabin storage, no pocket in front of you for storage and zero in-flight entertainment offered. Seat backs are so thin, that you can feel anyone behind you should their knees press on your seat back. Beverage service was sporadic. It was started, stopped, then rows of customers got skipped, and any food that was pre-ordered was delivered as soon as the plane was airborne but drinks were not ready at the time of the meal service. Very scattered service overall. Announcements were poor and not clear or loud enough. Japanese announcements were fully detailed while Mandarin were not precise, and English were very limited or didn't happen at all. Not good on an international flight with many different language needs."

We were told that tickets can be booked through Jetstar's website that are only slightly more expensive that include checked luggage. Now we going to be charge the same amount on the way back, which mean our overall travel cost for the flight will be triple what we paid on Kayak to begin with."

We printed our tickets at self check in, but the crew member made us to go stand in the line for regular check in, just for them to tell us what gate to go to. Wait in the same long line again, this time they tell us too much time has passed and we need to purchase new tickets. Worst travel experience I have had in the last 15 years, I would never even consider purchasing tickets from this airline again."
Cons: "After traveling through Asia for over three weeks, we decided to stop make one last stop in Kyoto. Four days before departure they made a 7kg carry on baggage rule, this includes both bags! And did not inform us. We had backpacks for convince and had not had a problem with any of the 12 flights we had previously been on. They made us pay for checked baggage, it came out late and we missed our connection home. They did nothing for us! Not to mention the flight attendant smelled horrifically of body odor and ran over my partners foot with the drink cart. Do not fly this airline if we wish for a smooth experience."

Cons: "There was no special web check-in counter at the airport, so there was only a single long line of passengers checking-in, unlike other airlines. The flight boarding was delayed as well as the passenger bus transfer from lounge to plane, so the scheduled flight departure of 7:40pm instead took-off almost 8:30 pm already. Flight attendants should have offered blankets for passengers' option to make use of during the flight."
Pros: "Reasonable fare but not reasonable enough for the amount of time wasted (entire day) plus the hassel and heartache. I will definitely used other carriers or take Shinkazen from now on in Japan. Never use Jet Star again. This experience also ruined the possibility of me using Jet Star between US and Australia."
Cons: "I was at the airport early to check in my luggage. Waited in line for a long time, understaffed at the counter, staff do not speak English at all for an international major airport, not acceptable. Prepaid checked baggage and staff "eye-balled" carry on, did not comment. After waited another 2 hours to board, late boarding procedures, understaff again at the boarding gate. All processes are very inefficient. Advised me that my carry on is not allowed, so I offer to pay whatever they want to charge me to gate check in. They have never heard of such thing as gate check in. Being a million miller frequent traveler and a GOLD medallion traveler in DELTA and other major airlines, I am appalled. They forced me to go outside of the security area, stand in line again to speak to customer service to change my flight. Made me pay triple the airfare when there are lots of seats available, in addition to pay for extra luggage fee for carry on. Worst is that they did not accept any of the fare credit I paid for the original flight. In the end, a 45minute flight turned into a 12 hour horrible experience. I will never fly JETSTAR again. And I will tell everyone I come across this experience. I have close to 500,000 miles still in the frequent flyer account after using a few tickets already. This is no way to treat your customer!"
