Cons: "I had such a miserable experience getting to Florence on Swiss Air that I sent a letter of complaint WHILE ON VACATION!! Really. It was a nightmare... not the way you want to start a vacation. I had difficulty booking my daughter's seat online for the return, but didn't have access to phone service while abroad. In my complaint letter to Swiss Air I requested they place us together. I never got a response and upon check in, they had my son and me in our purchased seats and my daughter at the back of the plane. I asked them if they could do anything about it (I was even willing to give up my seats to move to the back...) yet no one seemed concerned or interested in helping to make this work. They also had no knowledge of my complaint or appeared concerned about my prior experience. I'm so over Swiss Air. My experience with the employees on the phone prior to my first departure, the lack of response to my email, and a disinterested and inattentive staff on my return, have all convinced me to choose a different airline next time."

Cons: "The flight from Nairobi to Zurich starts in Nairobi, flies an hour south to Dar es Salaam, you then sit on the tarmac for an hour, then you fly north for an hour until you get back to the starting point. I would think they would save money if they flew an empty plane down to Dar es Salaam, picked up those passengers and then flew back to Nairobi. No way should an 8.5 hour flight take over 11.5 hours. Plus my screen didn't work for one of the flights, nearly 12 hours without entertainment was BS. No real variety in their meals either. The first leg had a main meal of beef and potatoes as the meat option, same option for the second leg."

Pros: "Crew was amazing. So patient and accommodating, even when passengers were a bit impatient. Cabin was clean, and it was good to have blankets and pillow on a long flight."
Cons: "Boarding was a bit chaotic. Food was okay but not substantial. Comfort was terrible in my seat - for some reason I had a seat with a metal box underneath so I could not stretch my legs. And the fellow next to me, in the middle, was over 6 feet and was VERY uncomfortable, even though he had legroom. There were good options for entertainment, but it was unreliable and had to be restarted once. Also, the screen was terrible quality and I could not see no matter how I adjust the screen angle or the light."

Pros: "The veggie food option was delicious. The calzone for breakfast was miserable. The restrooms were kept clean and well-stocked. Flight delay to wait for incoming passengers resulted in others missing their connections in SF."

Pros: "my wife needed a wheelchair, so we were whisked between terminals. but if we had had to negotiate that long distance by ourselves we would probably have missed the connection because there was only an hour layover and the distance between gates was great"

Cons: "The Swissair website did not have my information available. Stood next to Passport Control for an hour (!) for a glitch they couldn't resolve before boarding. Flight was delayed 90 minutes. Worse quality beef on a flight ever, and that's hard to do. In my 1.5 million miles flown, these were the least comfortable, cramped seats I have ever experienced. I am only 5'7", 150lbs, but for the first time ever could not reach my belongings in the under-the-seat space in front of me. Seriously, it was that cramped."

So then we needed to get in ANOTHER line and get the stamp and then stand in line AGAIN just to get on the plane! For being Swiss you'd think you'd have this part down AT LEAST! Boarding by seat number would have been a better idea. Everybody was all over the place getting their bags stored above."

The movie screen was barely visible so basically u could just listen."

I'm not sure why there still was no gate when we passed the time that we were supposed to arrive. There were also no power outlets in the plane. For such a long flight, it would be great to have power outlets to charge devices while flying. Flight was also kept very cold. Not very good entertainment options."

Cons: "Small jet for transatlantic didn't allow for being able to walk, stretch and move about much during such a long flight, unlike larger airbus planes or larger Boeing planes. Why do airlines hire chefs then serve lousy food!? First meal was so so while wake up meal was really bad. Was so disappointed in Swiss Air so will not fly with them again. Great service doesn't make up for the noted disappointments. Spending a $2-3 more on food would have helped, but placing us in a long flight in such a small airbus plane just won't do!"

Cons: "All airlines are doing this—we're seated closer and closer together, but the seats are the same. They recline just as much, and the screens pivot as little. And when you have screens that darken at an angle, when the person in front of you leans back, not only is their head in your lap, but you can't see your screen at all. I hate that it's on passengers to decide that it's rude to lean back, when it's the function of the chair. Besides, barely anyone considers it rude. So I was uncomfortable and cramped (and yes, I asked the kid in front of me if she would please move her chair up just a little bit as a favor, but she said she leaned back because the guy in front of her leaned back). Nice kid. I'm not a big guy. Finally home with a horrible neck cramp and a sore tailbone."

Pros: "This was my first flight with Turskis Airlines and my best experience with flying to Europe. The food was excellent; we had two hot delicious meals (best airplane food I ever had). The crew was the best - professional yet friendly. TA airfares are cheaper than other airlines so I could spend one day in Istanbul. That alone is worth it!"

After 3 days of being stranded i went to the Turkish Airlines office and they were not able to help me with a new flight or a refund so that i can purchase another ticket home."

Cons: "The entry to the plane in Istanbul was complicated--double checking at the gate for security and then also the boarding entry. The lines were crowded and disorganized and began late. After we were on the runway, we actually turned around and went back to the gate to let one sick passenger off. the flight attendants went up and down the aisles multiple times opening bins and asking people if the luggage was theirs or not before we could leave the gate again. It was really disorganized and bizarre. The flight itself was fine. The flight attendants weren't overly friendly, and they were missing during longer stretches, leaving passengers to find refreshments on their own. Beyond that, things were thankfully uneventful."

The serving of the food was a nightmare.... the food was served in sections. the hot plate first ... 5 minutes later... the hot bread... then yet another 5 minutes later... the drink. No water to be had. Was in the air for a full 5 hours before they brought the cart around for water/refreshments. Horrible."

Cons: "They cancelled my seat because of overbooking but they can not explain why? I was able to change my ticket two days later. Unexperienced staff, such a caos at the thy counters."

Pros: "I liked the coach video screens and entertainment system. Screens are large and easy to use, as is the touch screen interface. Lots to choose from. Good system! FAs very friendly and helpful. Quality staff on board my flight."
Cons: "My IST - SFO leg was VERY long. Considering the length of the flight, nowhere near enough water was handed out. About 3 hours into the journey a single pass was made through the cabin offering bottles of water but that was the only time it happened in a 13 hour flight. FAs were happy to give water - in single doses in a cup when asked but service could be improved. Better service would include 3 passes through the cabin at regular intervals offering full bottles of water and not just a cup."

Cons: "Seats 24a/b were next to exit door. Airplane is pumping out cold air literally right next to your feet. Crew was not willing to change temperature. Was not willing to offer comparable seats somewhere else in the plane despite having space. So, we were cold despite layers of blankets throughout the 13 hours of flight."

Pros: "Awesome access to English movies that made a 13 hour flight from Istanbul to SFO bearable. There was more space than most coach seats and their 2-bags free checking policy meant there were fewer lines in the aisles and more room in the overhead compartments. Being used to US airlines, having two meals and a wide range of free beverages (including fresh-squeezed OJ and wine) was a treat."
Cons: "My only complaint would be the lack of any US TV programs among the many video offerings on the longer flight -- there was no video on the 2-hour connecting flight. The food on both flights was just OK, but it had a smattering of lots of East and West so everyone could find something."

The crew probably was trying to do their best but it didnt work. - I was feeling sick so i pushed the attendant button 4 times to get someone to come by. - When they did come by and I asked for some tea, they got me a lukewarm tea! Seriously. - The toilets - When I used it mid-way, it was terrible. It needed restocking and actual cleaning the pot since the flush couldn't take away all of the solids i guess. Gross."

A large piece of luggage fell out of a bin in flight and hit me on the head, and they literally ignored me when I told them about it. I could have been really hurt, but it was as if I wasn't even talking. I also noticed they ignored other people asking them questions as if they weren't even there. Totally ludicrous."

Will like skip Delta connectors to long haul international flights and just fly direct from SFO."

Pros: "I had a great seat (exit row) with lots of legroom. They provided a free breakfast, and it was actually pretty good. A few hours later i was hungry and tried to buy some food but the cabin crew just gave my another breakfast item. The flight arrived on time, and the luggage was delivered a few minutes after I arrived at the baggage area."

First landing attempt had to be aborted, the landing not being cleared by the control tower. Then we cruised, circling over the Ocean, and the lights of the city again. Finally we landed. Taxiing on the tarmac was interrupted many times, and took overall 30 minutes. The pilot kept informing us. I was probably not the only passenger that had and urgent need to reach a bathroom... Of course, Delta should not be blamed"

No instructions or info given to allow us to go get something to eat or drink prior to boarding."

Crew extremely helpful and polite, always followed up to any requests. Instead of barking at us like United or American crew, they went out of their way to help my daughter get a makeshift icepack for some very painful bumps she got during our vacation. Crew also kept the bathrooms clean from time to time, which was a welcome relief for such a long flight. Desk staff/service desk also was helpful in directing us during the 5 hr layover to things at the airport itself that we could do. They also helped reprint the boarding pass and write down the baggage tags when security made me lose those by separating my wallet and boarding passes into mutliple bins."

Now I mainly try to get onto Lufthansa flights (or Turkish Airlines which is my favorite). Even on Aegean, I got better food, and the magazine was better, plus there were some monitors to track the flight. Austrian feels cheaper than the others. That is the main point I didn't like."
