Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Easy finding deals"
Cons: "Better interface"
Cons: "Had to wait on the runway for one hour to get a gate upon arrival. Should not have departed early and told passengers that there would be a gate available, only to have to wait and circle around several times waiting for a gate."
Cons: "Gate attendants"
Pros: "Good entertainment options but couldn't get them to work on my laptop so I had to watch a movie on a small mobile phone screen"
Cons: "Long delay due to weather. Got screwed by a change fee for a mistake I made on my original booking, no consideration. Good entertainment options but couldn't get them to work on my laptop so I had to watch a movie on a small mobile phone screen-website didn't request to download or activate DRM plug"
Pros: "The seat was comfortable"
Cons: "Should have demarcations for groups as they are boarding. A rude costumer with his wife who’s group was obviously not was called to board the airplane( I heard him say we’ll jus go with this group since we are next) purposefully cuts me off and was rude and obnoxious about it."
Pros: "This was a horrible experience from the onsite until the landing."
Cons: "Better communication from the beginning and feedback about what was actually going on would have been helpful."
Cons: "Couldn’t control the temperature. It was freezing then burning up."
Cons: "Delays, seat assignment changed, the food"
Pros: "The on-time arrival"
Cons: "Having to check our bags due to lack of overhead space which was announced before anyone boarded the aircraft. Had they provided our bags to us when we exited the plane, or told us in advance that there would be no space and they would be offering free bag check, that would have mitigated the situation. Instead they wait till the last minute costing us valuable time. In the future, they should pay us the 25 dollar bag fee when they arbitrarily make this decision."
Pros: "On time departure and arrival, everything else very standard"
Cons: "Seats are horribly uncomfortable and hardly recline, WiFi did not work most of the time even though I paid $12 for it. Overall United is highly unimpressive these days"
Pros: "Economy plus"
Cons: "Very old plane"
Pros: "Sidney was extra kind and thoughtful. Pilot made a great landing."
Cons: "Seat was a little uncomfortable."
Pros: "Left on time. Employees were competent and friendly, and kept us appraised of things at DCA and in flight (turbulence, etc)."
Cons: "Not much I didn’t like."
Pros: "Outstanding that United Airlines finally has allowed for complimentary use of built-in entertainment system; i.e. Direct TV without charging passengers. That is good business sense - congratulations on a good PR decision. Haven't complimented UA in long time, but this is about time to say "thanks!""
Pros: "Excellent United customer service, Reagan National, ease of check-in"
Cons: "The aircraft was older, but United is in the process of renewing their fleet."
Pros: "Liked that it wasn’t the smallest regional jet that flies to Springfield"
Cons: "There was a delay because inbound plane was late. Didn’t like that jetway was very cold when we were waiting for our gate checked luggage. My gloves and hat were in the gate checked luggage."
Pros: "Crew was great and helpful!"
Cons: "Not enough options for people with celiac."
Pros: "Quick and departure on time"
Pros: "Captain came out and talked with us"
Cons: "Delay seemed very avoidable."
Cons: "1.5 hr delay on Tarmac"
Pros: "Crew was friendly"
Cons: "Boarding group approach caused confusion due to lack of line indicators (too short); in-flight WiFi kept dropping every 60 seconds, making movie watching impossible"
Pros: "Courteous staff"
Cons: "Late departure"
Pros: "Everything was as expected from United."
Cons: "We didn't have seats assigned and the gate attendent didn't take the time to tell any of the 20 of us waiting for 15-20 mins to speak to a gate agent what was going on until AFTER she boarded the rest of the plane. When asked what was going on she responded "excuse me, I'll get to you when I get to you and thanks for your 'non attitude'" to the woman who asked her if she had any plans to greet us or even ackwnowledge us. Then the flight attendants became flustered as they realized they separated a 5 year old child and his father and sat the child in the emergency seat. When several of us attempted to help they were rude so when I put my headphones in to pass the time and didn't hear the woman ask if I was willing to sit in the emergency isle she snidely said "there's always one millenial not paying attention." Ummm.... I had my eyes closed and was listening to my music since they clearly wanted us to mind our own business and NOT try to help the father (meanwhile all of us strangers were trying to figure out how to rearrange in order to help). The only reason entertainment gets a 2 is bc I had good conversation with the passenger next to me, not because of anything United did. Really unbelievable that they continue to operate this way and treat PAYING customers like this. It's sad actually."
Pros: "It was a plane"
Cons: "Could only bring one personal bag and no carry on"
Pros: "Smooth take off and landing"
Pros: "Seat was pretty comfortable, as it goes in coach these days."
Cons: "Original flight booked was for 1:30. Week before changes to 5:30. Then 6:30. Arrive at the airport and flights delayed to 7. Then 730. 8. 830 etc etc etc til 11. No explanation. No food tickets. Rude responses like this gem: pointed out how long I was waiting with no word --> told by a united employee that he's been there since 7am. I point out he's bad to be there. He says he's not. I guess a united volunteer then? Then only handed out water since 'it's a short flight'. Useless."
Cons: "Always quality service, food and plane! My fav!"
Cons: "I had delay of 1.5 hours, no one take responsibility on the connection It's was not comfy at all Bad service"
Cons: "There was a lack of information the whole trip. We couldn't hear the announcements of the crew or pilot so we didn't know what was going on. When. The landing gear malfunctioned it took a very long time to hear what was going on. Then, upon deplaning, there was only one single gate agent waiting to help the flight. Very poor service!"
Pros: "I enjoyed the heart warming and friendlyness of the pilot."
Cons: "The running nose sneezing person sitting next to me."
Pros: "Staff were very helpful and friendly."
Cons: "Delay, but not airline'S fault."
Cons: "Coach cramped"
Cons: "they couldnt find the pilot. they said they didnt have enough crew"
Pros: "United comfortable classy convenient. Ordered on time staff was friendly beverages are free and plenty of legroom thank you I will book again"
Pros: "Everything was good."
Cons: "Plane was late and we almost missed our connection in Newark"
Pros: "United service is awful."
Cons: "The boarding process is ridiculous. Takes forever because it is totally irrational and driven by favoritism. Plus they don't enforce the baggage size rules."
Cons: "We did not leave on time"
Pros: "They had a free snack."
Cons: "Boarding process is better than some, but stinks compared to Southwest."
Cons: "Sitting on the tarmac for 30+ min in Washington."
Pros: "Plane was nice and clean."
Cons: "Having to take a shuttle from one terminal to another in Chicago."
Cons: "The flight was delayed over an hour, which caused me to run to catch my connection."
Pros: "I liked the fact that I had a window seat... at the way back. Also that I was at least offered snacks, or whatever was left because they ran out."
Cons: "They ran out of meals and snacks, both paid and free. We all pay a price, yet seats and class determine whether you will get your moneys worth. I guess the point is that I at least made it home."
Cons: "Very cold on flights, no blankets"
