Pros. The fact that everything was just a walk away from the hotel. Staff was very helpful
Pros. Staff were very nice and welcoming. Good views at the back of the hotel of the Bay Bridge.
Cons. We were in room211 opposite the life so very noisey at times. No real natural light in the room as the windows faced into an internal small square to the roof which also had noise from ducting. The pillows on the bed smelt and we asked for them to be changed, plus as there were only three we requested a fourth pillow. The pillows were changed but still only three and a second request for the fourth pillow was not addressed, only a small thing but should have been rectified. We were there for two nights and were woken at around 04:00 with noise in the corridor which sounded like cleaning and also from above. If this was a chain hotel in the U.K. they would have refunded the cost of our stay under the good nights sleep guarantee. Overall not a restful stay.
Pros. Everything was great, staff, price, location, etc..
Cons. Everything was great!
Pros. Location was perfect for walking along the Embarcadero. Nice restaurant associated with the hotel. Was compensated for having to change my room from a City View to an interior room with a bottle of wine, free parking for two nights, and free breakfast for two. Staff was great.
Cons. Noise from our room sounded like carts rolling down a hallway above us. Not all night, but late at night and early in the morning. Not undoable, just annoying for about an hour each time.
Pros. I was impressed by the styling and attention to detail at the Griffon. This very old building felt quite modern, and my room reminded me so much of my stays in Europe. The multinational staff was very friendly without being forced.
Cons. The HVAC needs serious attention. While the flow and temperature were fine, there was an annoying mustiness throughout the building. No doubt an effect of being so close to the bay, but a thorough cleaning is in order.
Pros. The location was perfect for our 10 mile run Sunday morning. You have a great view of the bay bridge. The restaurant next to the lobby was really good.
