From the entrance to the room, the carpets were dirty. We had to ask for water as there was no water bottles placed in the room too.

Pros (+) Amazing hotel. Service was impeccable all around, from the valet at the front door, to the reception desk, to the bellman. The building itself was beautiful and it was incredible to stay where so much history has been made.

Pros (+) Luxurious surroundings and a historic San Francisco location. Quiet rooms and very friendly staff. The Tonga Room on-site is great, the room service food was good, and the gym looked nice.
Cons (-) The pillows were incredibly uncomfortable. I had to abandon them halfway through the night and just sleep without. I also noticed a lack of the sort of amenities one might expect in a luxury hotel of this caliber—no bathrobes, WiFi was an extra charge, etc. Hard not to feel a little nickel-and-dimed which didn’t seem in keeping with the luxury atmosphere.

Pros (+) Hotel employees treat you like royalty. Beautiful details all over the hotel. Classic history all over! Every president over the past 120 years has stayed at the hotel! First Fairmont Hotel in the world, sets the standard for all Fairmont hotels!
Cons (-) VERY expensive parking. The hotel contracts with a parking service and valet is the only option. Prepare to spend over $70 a night to park at the hotel, but this is the only option unless you want to walk miles and miles.
