10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic, warm welcome. Gorgeous room decorated in a modern/rustic style. Location was perfect, just a 5 minute walk into the heart of Samos. If you contact 24 hours in advance of your stay, you can hire out the small spa pool which was absolute bliss!
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Warm welcome from Angel, detailed map and explanation or where everything was in the town. Lovely room with great shower and towels, upstairs sitting room and well equipped kitchen as well as outside area with seating and drying facilities. Lovely house to stay in.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely gorgeous property in Samos on the Camino. Stellar house fully restored with all modern bathroom and kitchen. Angel greeted us and gave us a tour of the house. We had it to ourselves for the night. Gorgeous, well decorated, light filled bedroom and the most amazing rain shower! Wonderful bath products, huge and comfortable bed. Lots of light. So wonderfully clean and laundry was done for us for £5. Peaceful and calm. Loved it! Such a good find! Hard to leave.
Cons: Absolutely perfect in every way.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It is in a beautiful restored stone building. They kept the charm and added modern conveniences. The room was lovely and comfortable. I liked the shared living room and kitchen...which we had to ourselves, very cozy. It was a short walk to the monastery and other places in town. Bit of an uphill walk back from town, but still worth the effort. I would definitely stay here again!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Spotlessly clean and authentic stone house. Quite cool even in the summer. Very comfortable.
Cons: Everything was pretty great. There was a minor wifi issue but even that was resolved by the staff within 15 min. No complaints.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, comfortable and authentic accommodation. Clean. Host Angel was very welcoming and helpful.
Cons: Everything was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderfull people providing great service in a lovely renovated old farm, spacious rooms and a little spa, just what you need at the end of a hard days walk. Great stay!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Casa de Outeiro is a little piece of heaven! Cosy rooms, clean bathrooms and a warm living room and dining area! If you are on the Camino, the fully equipped spacious kitchen is a massive plus! It was great to be able to cook dinner and have a break from peregrino food! Wifi, books and TV are also all available. Would definitely advise this as a 2-night stay - for perfect rest and relaxation!
Cons: Nothing! I would just note that it is about a 5 - 7 minute walk from the Samos monastery, but this worked well for us.

6.3 Good
Pros: The place is really beautiful, no neighbors at close distance, nice yoga room and living room
Cons: WiFi awful, they charge every kind of extra...if you ask for some hot water seems like they are giving it for free whilst instead you’ll find the bill updated at the checkout. A gin and tonic they charge 10 euros! Breakfast costs 8 euros but it’s very poor, coffee it’s very bad. Overall I didn’t like the customer care attitude at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, especially the owner Nacho. The historic building. The grounds: flowers, fruit trees, etc. Clean room, delicious breakfast with many homemade products.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great rural location with an eccentric, quirky and very charming owner
Cons: Our ground floor room was very hot even with the windows open all night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good communications with our hosts before we arrived at this delightful accommodation in a quiet, peaceful rural setting. Our check-in and introduction to our room and the other facilities were easy. Rectoral has been beautifully renovated and appointed. Our spacious room had views over the valley and a modern bathroom with an external window through the thick stone wall. We enjoyed our 2 dinners and breakfasts with attentive service and appreciated the travel advice and local knowledge of our hosts
Cons: The wifi was flaky and didn't reach our room on the story below the nearest modem in reception so we had to go upstairs to do basic travel-planning tasks
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location, stunning room with balcony and wonderful views, food was excellent and was a lovely warm evening for the meal in the garden, hosts friendly and attentive, home was stunning and very quirky and unique, if you are in the area I can’t recommend this wonderful place enough.

Cons: Nothing at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked for a two night stay and extended to a third as we enjoyed our time here so much. The accommodation was comfortable, breakfast was good and we especially enjoyed dinner. We had a slight difficulty getting access to WiFi which was quickly resolved by Nacho, who also helped us with planning our visit to the area. Our stay was one of the high points of our holiday.

9.3 Excellent (833 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Castro Caldelas, Hotel Casa de Caldelas is in the historical district, within a 10-minute drive of Ponte da Boga and Bodega Adega Vella. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
7.5 Good
Pros: A little gem great location for visiting the sil canyon
7.5 Good
Pros: Very clean and stylish hotel. Great location
Cons: Staff doesn't speak English at all. Very poor breakfast - piece of bread with cut tomatoes (I can't call "a toast" piece of bread more than 2 sm thick), a little bit jam and butter, orange juice and coffee. On the breakfast photo there is cheese , but only on the photo.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, the hotel is in the main square, only few meters from the historic castle of the town. Operators were really kind and available. Perfectly cleaned rooms and tasty breakfast at their coffee bar.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: It was cold. They seemed reluctant to use the central heating. I asked once for it to be put on and they did but only for a short time and not at all in the morning ( which was frosty)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: beaufiful little property clean and well decorated. in a great location next to the castle.
Cons: nothing at all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully clean, modern accommodation in an older style building set right in the centre of town just a short walk from the castle (which is well worth a visit). There were tea and coffee facilities and bar fridge in the room, an oscillating column fan which was welcome and kept us nicely cool, a comfortable and nicely presented communal lounge area. Breakfast was at the cafe over the town square just 100m from the main hotel building. Breakfast itself was basic- sourdough toast, condiments, a lovely fresh sugar coated sponge cake and tea or coffee. This was included in the room rate (€55). Great value. Of note - we’re travelling by motorcycle and having contacted the hotel prior to our stay, they kindly gave us use of a secure garage under the hotel which was brilliant. The hotel foyer had some lovely tasteful souvenirs and local produce (wine, olive oil, jams etc) Wifi was excellent- which is important to us). Lovely friendly staff. Great value - thoroughly recommend this gem.
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a self-contained unit at this property located in the beautiful countryside near the Canon del Sil in Bolmente. The unit was modern, spacious, comfortable and very clean. It was very well equipped (even a toaster was provided) and the property has both outdoor and indoor BBQ facilities. Guests can use the commercial standard washing machines and driers in the property, which were very good. Suzanne, our host had arranged for relatives who could speak some English to help us with check-in, which was very helpful and a nice touch. We enjoyed the view from the balcony over the property and out to the surrounding countryside each afternoon and early evening of our stay. The property is also very close to a couple of the miradores (viewpoints) of the Canon del Sil - A Cividade and Bouqueirino, both very spectacular.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.

9.3 Excellent (197 reviews)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just perfect from the moment we arrived. We only stayed here one night, as we were touring on a motorcycle, but this could have easily been a place where we could have had a rest day and kicked back for longer. The staff were really helpful and the hotel is very well designed and run professionally. The food was excellent as was the linen and beds. The en-suite bathroom was spacious and well equipped. The evening menu was a fixed four course and made fresh. There was no vegetarian option however my fish eating partner was well catered for with an improvised, expanded, second starter. Breakfast was buffet type with plenty of variation. The location is remote and beautiful overlooking a reservoir in lush parkland. There was no garage parking for our bike but it could be parked directly outside the front if you wished. You got the feeling that all would have been well even if you left the keys in it so it was not a concern. Overall we thought this hotel perfect for a touring stopover and astonishingly good value for money.
Cons: If you were staying in one of the rooms above the bar area (with the stunning views across the reservoir, ie room 115) you might be disturbed by the noise below. It didn't bother us but for those seeking absolute peace it might be better getting a room on the other side. No vegetarian option at dinner, see below.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything ! For us the 10 was the minimum; a 12 is closer to reality

Pros: Cute, boutique style guest house.
Cons: Small tub-not big enough to bathe in and awkward to get in and out of
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place itself is lovely, but more importantly, the hosts are so kind. They oriented us to Samos, offered to make dinner, and did our laundry for us. I was experiencing mild food poisoning, and wasn’t able to eat much, but the pumpkin soup we were offered as a first course was so soothing. And after dinner, we were offered a taste from the last of five bottles of liqueur once made by the monks of Samos.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cecilia is the best hospitalero we have come across of the Camino and her home/rooms are a beautiful way to recharge for the last bit. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet village and are so glad we took the time to visit. The breakfast was outstanding - for an extra 5€ worth every penny.
Cons: Nothing. This was a perfect Camino experience.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Casa da Cabaza is wonderfully peaceful place to stay. The views are beautiful and Siets is an excellent host. We would definitely recommend staying if you would like to experience rural Galicia. And delicious fresh food! The meals we had were both excellent. It is a nice change to stay somewhere in this region that offers so much veg! It is easy to find and close enough to Sarria and Monforte to explore larger centres. Self drive is necessary to get the most out of your stay.
6.0 Good
Pros: There was a problem with a leak and we were immediately moved to another room. Building was very interesting and the conversion well thought through. The second room we inhabited was rather superior to the first.
Cons: The first room we were housed in was very noisy from the floor above (wooden floor with no insulation. Room was also small and dark though I am sure the manger/owner would have moved us had we complained.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The Casa has been beautifully restored and the attention to detail is astonishing. Our hosts, Carmen and Arturo, were very generous and welcoming. We don't speak Spanish and they don't speak English, but we managed with a little French and the Collins Spanish/English dictionary. This system worked very well after a few of Carmen's home made lemon liquers.

Overview Reviews
Located in A Teixeira, Casa Grande de Cristosende is a 4-minute drive from Pasarela do Rio Mao and 6 minutes from Adegas Valcar. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.3 Good
Cons: The service. The atmosphere was bad between the staff
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the suite with a balcony and thoroughly enjoyed watching the sun set over the river with a bottle of wine. The hotel restaurant made us a lovely tuna salad, which supplemented a picnic of local meats and cheeses we'd bought in the market for dinner - eaten al fresco on the balcony. The bathroom we nice and the bed very comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast (5€ per person) included cake, bread, butter, jam, fresh orange juice and coffee. Each of these things was of nice quality, but I prefer protein at breakfast and would have liked some non-carb option.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the staff is great and very helpful, the views from there are amazing (the sun going down into the river is very beautiful), there is a coffee/bar service which is great and it is quite easy to park. The food was great (we had dinner and the meat was amazing)
Cons: the room was full of flies, I suppose it is due to the fact that it was a ground-floor one, not sure. Also, there isn´t much isolation in terms of noise so we didn´t sleep up to when the restaurant was closed and after they would throw the rubbish,
7.5 Good
Pros: Despite language barriers the staff helped us plan a wonderful day. Wished we had asked for help sooner
Cons: The location is a bit off the beaten track. and the roads are confusing. Local map was incredibly useful
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Leaving
Cons: During my stay at some point while we were out for the day money was stolen from my suit case so for any body staying there make sure you leave no money or valuables in your room Also the food was appalling practically inedible So it didn’t matter about anything else the fact that money was taken nothing can make me recommend this place I am very disappointed that my whole trip to this wonderful country has been ruined by one low life individual
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely view over the valley in a quiet little village. Room was spacious and warm. Lovely lounge and courtyard, plus cafe attached
Cons: When we arrived at 5pm the whole place was locked up. So let them know when you will arrive as they close the bar/cafe in the afternoon. Breakfast was basic

Pros: Wonderful hotel located on the far side of town. This is perfect for pilgrims as it means that you do not have to walk through town the following morning. The supermarket is close by for this interested. The staff are friendly And attentive. The bedrooms are comfortable and recently renovated. There are plans to renovate the bathrooms in the near future - although I found the bathrooms to be functional and clean. The hotel is situated on the river Sarria. I opened the windows and slept soundly to the noise of the river. A terrace on each floor allows for washing to be hung and dried outside.

Pros: Do not miss the experience of this tranquil gem. We literally walked into a secret garden. The grounds are exceptional, our room was beautiful and the staff was friendly and helpful, even to the point of allowing us to pick and choose from a delightful pilgrim menu. This soup was food for the soul on a chilly, rainy evening.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is one of the best hotel on the Camino way. The hotel is so charming. The food was wonderful. The staff were so helpful and careing. A little of the beaten track but well worth a visit.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice place for quiet and isolated environment. In the middle of nowhere
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The place is lovely and cosy.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fine old property, sympathetically furnished in a tranquil, scenic setting. Really spacious room, with comfortable bed and good en-suite. Pleasant dining/breakfast room with a varied and extensive breakfast - (Wonderful scrambled eggs!) Clean, good-sized pool, lovely gardens and lots of outside spaces to sit and relax. Friendly, helpful and accommodating staff and owner.
Cons: Shower a bit basic - fed off taps. Pool furniture needs updating a bit - some of the loungers were past their sell-by date. Both my sister and I had to query our bills. We both booked through Booking.com with defined prices, though this seemed to have not registered completely with the property's computerised booking system. The owner had upgraded our rooms, which was really good of him, but as he didn't tell us this would be extra, it was a bit of a shock when coming to pay. I sorted my bill amicably enough, but it might be worth checking and agreeing your details before coming to pay. We had a really enjoyable stay, but this took the edge off things a small bit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is one of the best places we've stayed ever: sleeping in an historic villa for very little money is something you cannot miss! We arrived in the afternoon and we relaxed in the swimming pool; then we've been suggested a really good and cheap restaurant in the neighborhood. Sleeping was simply perfect: the structure is surrounded by nature, you can only hear animals around! Then breakfast was definitely a 10, as there were lots of things to eat and drink. Everything's perfect!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming Hotel in the countryside, perfect for a romantic escape or just to wind down. Wonderful breakfast, great People.
Cons: The beds Need upgrading, they seem a bit outdated. And for dinner there are not the Options you would expect from a charming hotel like this. But they said they will work on it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow! Casa de Diaz was an incredible casa rural and a nice break from walking the Camino. Everything about this place was fabulour. I highly recommend this hotel!
Cons: We did have a communication issue/misunderstanding about dinner and ended up bringing our own picnic meal. It was still fabulous and the hotel staff took great care of us, even paying for our wine!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This may have been my favorite place! The owner could not have been more helpful. The food was delicious and the property itself is gorgeous.
Cons: I have no complaints.
7.5 Good
Pros: nice surroundings

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Plenty of power points Pleasant staff Central location, not far from the old quarter
Cons: The shower units seem to come off the wall relatively easily. The walls are thin. Bad if the person next door snores or has a loud phone conversation. No plug in was basin.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Plenty of space in the room. Great shower. Comfy bed. Breakfast was ok but a little meagre.
Cons: We had a suite on the 4th floor. The heating system was very noisy. It sounded like being inside an industrial tumble dryer.
5.0 Okay
Pros: good location
Cons: Dirty (never swept under the bed, and mold on many bathroom tiles and floor) also unable to sleep because people come in at all hours at the night (business agreement with a company) Sucio y ruidoso!!! Check the photos!!! mira las fotos!!

Pros: The beds were the most cosy I've slept in. The host was exceptionally pleasant.
Cons: I can't think of anything!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved the decor!! It was very unique, every little detail has been selected with great care. This place has its own personality... I was amazed by its beauty. the owner lady was very nice and welcoming. Place was spotlessly clean. I loved my room, everything about it. I had a sneak peak in other rooms cause I was roaming around having checked in as early as possible, and every room has its own unique look. A fantastic place would definitely stay again if I was visiting the area!!
Cons: The only 2 things I could fault this place on is that mattress could be more comfortable and so could the pillow but it wasn't too bad to not enjoy this experience I absolutely enjoyed it anyway.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very friendly host.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the most gorgeous place we have stayed in. Beautiful courtyard, very quaint house and furnishings. Owner obviously very proud of her pension. Very clean.
Cons: Loved it all, and also. Guest kitchen with snacks, breakfast by donation.
7.5 Good
Cons: Kitchen for everything, thank you
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful stay at the camino
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location on Camino trail
Cons: Bit pricey for small basic one bedroom compared to others I stayed in on the Camino
6.8 Good
Pros: Location was good for local amenities and was quiet at night
Cons: Shared facilities, I feel this should have been high lighted as I would not have chosen this establishment if I had known in advance that we did not have en-suite. Also the owner was not present on our arrival and it was another guest that gave us access to the property, otherwise we would have had to wait an hour and a half for the owners arrival. On our return to the hotel after finding an evening meal at a local restaurant we were met with the hotelier, who had now arrived, trying to give our room to some other potential guests because she was unaware that we had already, thanks to the guest mentioned earlier, gained access to our room. Something akin to a scene from faulty towers!!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was so clean and across the street from the monastery albergue in Samos. After a day on the Camino I was happy to have an inexpensive clean room to myself. Shared bathroom was also very clean. I think it’s owned by a young husband and wife team. They were so nice!
Cons: The location and so clean
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, comfortable beds and great location. Very well received on arrival. Nice hot showers and amenities. Place to do laundry. Bright and fresh feel.
Cons: We had a twin room with shared bathroom. Our room faced the street and the outside lamp is very bright all night even with the curtains. Also the little exterior table below is used for smoking and that comes into the room. The bathroom floor gets very wet and could be a fall hazard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The loveliest place I can imagine and what i truly dreamed Galicia to be - the walk to Samos is magical and so is the place. on a note about Samos - Avoid the most touristy restaurants but have beer at the local places where they offer you sunflower seeds and shop at the grocery store. Tour of the monastery is worth it, and the monastery church is large and very baroque and i spent many moments in awe there - make sure to get to a service there. The hospedería was out of this world, quiet and peaceful, clean simple and friendly, with shutters that close the windows to make the room pitch black for maximum rest. The windows open into the the green and a view of the monastery and the hill behind a ninth century chapel. The monastery bells sing. I dreamed of a place like this and this was the gift of the Camino for my birthday. Thank you.
Cons: can't think of any
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Basic, quiet and clean single bedroom. Comfortable bathroom. Good location - close to the Monastery, shops and restaurants. Attentive host, accommodating and provided necessary tourist information about the city.
Cons: A shower mat is needed in the shared bathroom to soak up access water when guests take a shower. Currently the floor gets wet when guests step out the shower and then the bathroom becomes messy for the next guest. The name of the accommodation is confusing and not well displayed on the outside of the premises.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were attentive and helpful. I had booked this room for my sister and myself, and upon my sisters arrival, the receptionist immediately took care of her needs that arose from a previous nights stay at another property in Ocebreiro that had bed bugs. They took all her things, washed and dried them, forgoing check-in and let her into the room so she can shower and find some semblance of normalcy.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Loved closeness to village, monastery and walking trails.
Cons: The room (single one adjacent to stairs on first level) had noise from something electrical buzzing as well as people moving about and talking in the stairway. With a shared bathroom, it would be really helpful to have a towel hook/ hanger in both the bedroom and in the bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Modern, really clean n perfect location
Cons: Nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, just behind the Monastery. I shared a bathroom but had the section to myself, so like my own bathroom. Restaurants in the street, staff very helpful, rooms comfortable and clean. Can thoroughly recommend staying in Samos and experiencing the peace of the Monastery.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, very comfortable room and lovely breakfast, would definitely recommend
9.3 Excellent
Cons: Everything was great (it's amongst the best Parador in which we've ever stayed), except dinner. The best dishes were barely decent, and the octopus was bad. Breakfast, however, was quite impressive. To sum up: go, take the breakfast, but go out for dinner (O Grelo, 200m downhill, was very good).
7.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Food when finally arrived was stone cold after much deliberation and poking of cold food by waiting staff it was taken away and microwaved and bought back same food same plate and prodded by waiters. If this is a gastro restaurant it desaerves to be shut down disgusted is an understatement
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything but
Cons: We stayed in the new building, getting with our luggage to the room was a nightmare.
