Hotel was clean and comfortable, well located on main drag in Albany. Responsive to a nonfunctional toilet was less than adequate, ie, it was never fixed. Might have been an incompetent maintenance person or a manager but still, working toilet is kinda a bare minimum for a hotel.
Pros. Loved the inside of the place and the location.
Pros. The room was nice but the bed seemed smaller than a standard king.
Cons. The breakfast was not very good at all, and swarmed by fruit flies. The hotel is under construction which is fine, but less than ideal.
Pros. Good location. Close to restaurants. Friendly staff. The rooms have been updated and are quite comfortable.
Cons. The hotel room have all been renovated but the lobby area is still under renovation which really isn`t a big deal if you don`t mind dust. The rooms could use grab bars in the shower and an extra night stand on both sides of the bed.
Pros. Location and comfortable
Cons. Price lol, they were doing construction at the time
Pros. Great spot in albany, only 1/2 mile walk to the palace, plenty of great spots to eat & historic buildings to explore. Room was updated & very clean. Bed was super comfortable & even though hotel fully booked, I didn't hear a thing all night. Staff super friendly, cookies & tea/coffe in lobby & water & snacks given on check in. Some parking out front or convenient valet. I will definitely stay at 74 state anything in albany.
Pros. Loved the big bed, huge tub and the fireplace. The location was convenient for all downtown activities including the Times Union Center.
Cons. It was being updated during our stay but it really wasn't a big deal.
Pros. The staff were perhaps the nicest people I have met in hotel hospitality in a long time. Everyone....and I mean everyone (doorman, check in gal, breakfast hostess, check out guy) was happy and helpful. Although there is no restaurant in the hotel, that was not a problem. I was given a "goodie" bag upon arrival with bottled water, Oreo cookies and potato chips. There were also large cookies available and I was told that snacks and desserts would be available later in the evening. The complimentary breakfast was perfect: eggs, sausage, waffle station, whole fruit, fruit salad, cold cereals, yogurts, all kinds of bagels and breads. Also a perfect location for the Capital Rep Theatre.
