How to Get to Amalfi

Plane

Although Amalfi doesn’t have its own airport, you can fly to Salerno Costa d'Amalfi (QSR), which is located 16 miles from Amalfi. Salerno Costa d'Amalfi is the most popular, with regular flights from Air France, Delta, KLM and other airlines departing from the United States. The shortest flight to Amalfi from the United States departs from Boston and takes around 11h 15m.

Train

Trenitalia is the most popular train carrier serving Amalfi, followed by Italotreno. The train journey from Amalfi to Rome takes 2h 08m and costs around $12 for a one-way ticket. When coming by train from Catania, expect to pay about $20 for a 7h 24m trip.

Car

Another option to get to Amalfi is to pick up a car rental from Rome, which is about 140 miles from Amalfi. You’ll find branches of Rent Smart 24 and Target Italy, among others, in Rome.
