Absolutely everything! Staff were fantastic, food in the restaurant amazing. Buffet breakfast fantastic, especially sitting out on the terrace overlooking the spectacular view. They went above and beyond our expectations, highly recommend staying here!
the staff, the bed, the view and the location for the cost the room was to small, no room to put your luggage or sit comfortable.
The hotel was spacious and restful. There were many guests staying but it was never at all crowded. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. It is beautifully located and the flowers and plants are a major contribution to peace and enjoyment. Delicious, unhurried breakfasts on the terrace overlooking Amalfi town were memorable. We thought that the all white decor with little furniture and no colour was severe.
the building itself is gorgeous and so is the view!
Perfect view, perfect staff, perfect beach, perfect breakfast.
The view was amazing - but this was after we paid an up charge to get a view with a balcony. The Sea View that was booked originally - you had to really stand on something to see it.
The hotel has a great location, and the free parking is a plus in this area. that is about it!!! They even charge your to use the internet, what first class, or like you rate it 5 star charges a guest to use the internet in 2010. You rated this hotel 5 stars, it is not!!! Maybe the location, but not facilities or amenities of a 5 star hotel. It does not even have a real blow dryer. you cannot use any electrical converters in the bathroom, and there are no mirrors in the bedroom. It has a small tv, real old, from a museum, the safe has a key, old fashion key, not electronic like a real safe, and it is inside the refrigerator, which means, every time you want to use the safe, you have to open the small refrigerator, which does not work when you leave the room, since you need to insert a key for the electricity to work inside the room. no robes, slippers, plastic cups... no proper hangers for your clothes. I would not recommend this hotel. Maybe as a 2 or 3 star
the hotel is beautiful, staff and service outstanding
Everything, especially the view.
different Radio doesnt work in the room. NZ$500 per night should be 5 star but not. All Italian TV. Only BBC in english. Sky do have english programs. Small 15 inch TV 50 ft away from viewing??NO Tea or Coffe/milk/ electric jug facilities like in 99% of hotels/motles in NZ. Not value for money. No service. Only if you ask for it. At the pool/ would you like another or food or is everything o'k. Only stay for one night just for the look.
good beach , good service , location near Amalfi , good shatale , good food air condiation , and slow / small elevaetors
Everything was so perfect!!!! We would visit again!! No, everything was so well organized!!
The hotel staff, especially the reception staff were very helpful and expalined the whole layout etc of the hotel on arrival. To get a full picture of the hotel you have to view this from the sea which is breathtaking Location is isolated & the nearest main centre was a cab drive away. Courtesy buses were provided but times to & from hotel were limlited to early morings or early evening. The resturant staff & breakfast staff were not very helpful or freindly. In the evening we took a meal at the resturant. Once seated I noticed a smashed glass under the table, but the staff just shrugged their shoulders.
Great accomidations. I was looking for comfort and a great view after touring Italy for two weeks. A place to relax. I found through research most hotels offer one or the other not both. Saraceno offered great views from the rooms up on the hill as well as great beach location. Food was good, bar open late till 12 midnight. If your looking for peach and quite this is the place. The cabs are expensive in Amalfi. Look into hotel shuttle. It is accomidating to use.
overvew room. not comfortable hotel
the castle looks so dramatic, particulary looking back up from the beach. I didnt expect the lovely gardens and pots of flowers on the balconies which really added to it. it was over our budget so we only stayed 1 night in partial seaview, but laying in bed I could see the ocean, and the stars. I would reccomend it even if its a bit out of your price range just stay one day its worth it!
Beautiful hotel in a breathtaking setting. Fulfilled my bucket list item of staying in a castle as this was built to replicate a fortress. Staff was friendly and service was great. Staying at a hotel with a private beach is worth it in Amalfi! Lots of ants- but expected at a beach hotel
We loved the fantastic ocean view. It was no luxury hotel by any means but nice & comfortable.
The location was amazing. Every view from every angle was beautiful. The dinning room staff was also great. The hotel staff (outside of the dinning room) couldn't have been less helpful or less knowledgeable. They could have also used a 24 hour menu.
View, large rooms, great service The mildew on the walls and in bathroom
The staff and service was nice. I liked the pool alot. The price for any hotel in Europe is very expensive for what you receive in the USA. I was surprised they did not have any pugs to convert US powered electronics to Italian (all other hotels we stayed at did). The walk from the hotel to Amalfi proper although not that far could be harzardous due to limited side walks on the windy street plus walk through the traffic tunnel. Needs shuttle servic
The location was exceptional. I loved being on the edge of the cliff. The ability to go down to the pool and/or swim in the Mediterranean sea was so exciting. We had probably the nicest room, end with the largest balcony it was perfect. We had rented a car and the signage from either direction was the best. The entrance (at the road level ) was unimpressive. But I don't think you can change that because the whole excitement of the hotel is the location on the cliffside. The distance into the main part of town was easily walkable and fun, although there was a shuttle service we didn't use it. Getting to the town of Almafi is not ideal if you need to use the ferry or bus (especially if its not high season). We had to take a taxi ride to Salerno for 100 euros in time to catch the train to Rome to make it to the airport in time. However we had time to take the ferry from Salerno to Almafi for 6 Euros each for 35 minutes, which was ideal and fun. (no worries about driving the coastline road.
The views are some of the best we have ever seen from a hotel balcony anywhere in the world. The location is stunning
The view from our room and all over the hotel was incredible. We loved being very close to Amalfi (10 min walk) but not directly in town. The staff was very nice and attentive and knowledgeable. The pool decks built into the cliff were an amazing place to hang out for the day. The bed wasn't the most comfortable in the world but it was fine and made up for by the rest of the hotel
There was a pool and access to the sea. Location. Timings of mini-bus shuttle service into town were not useful.eg.drop off for lunch but no pick up later.
Fantastic location, having superb views over Amalfi and its harbour. Good sunbathing facilities and access to swimming in its sea water pool or the sea. Good views from bedrooms as well as public rooms. Good variety in its restaurant. The staff were extaordinarily helpful and professional The standard rooms only have small balconies, some of which are enclosed. Neither your site or that of the hotel indicate this difference between standard and superior rooms.
The attentive staff, location and facilities. N/A
great location, views, pool / ocean area. parking a huge plus. restaurant well run. i would definetly stay here again.
Hotel staff is very friendly and polite. We can see seaview from room.
It is close to the beach and in the middle of town. The room had sea view, and the price was reasonable. New doors to the balcony kept the sun and noise outside, the room was totally dark at night so we slept very well. Breakfast at a beautiful terrace.
Helpful staff Very basic accomodation for the cost
Location was great - the breakfast area overlooked Amalfi beach and the hotel was so close to the bus and ferry terminals. The room was spotlessly clean and staff were very friendly.
I stayed in one of superior double rooms. It was spacious and had beautiful view and a jacuzzi. Breakfast was fair, and I liked cappucino.
Convenience to public transportation in a town full of steps. Lovely breakfast room with view and helpful in suggesting smaller, less touristy restaurants. Although on a busy street facing the harbor, my room was quiet at night, which was a bonus. I would go back.
Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Great location. Even though the hotel faces a busy street, when you close the french doors and shutters, it is very quiet.
friendly helpfull staff
This Hotel was really beautiful : nice furnitures, typiacally italian. The terrasse for the breafast was great with the view on Amalfi and the sea
The location was excellent. Seaside and right in town for conveniences. Traveling with my 85 year old mother and she uses a wheelchair. This hotel was very accommodating for her. Nothing
excellent location and facilities. quiet, comfortable, spacious and convenient. Helpful staff no complaints at all
This is a very nice 3 star hotel, situated in a 5 star location! You couldn't ask for a more beautiful place. Only one gripe! The breakfast, although a variety was offered, it never differed in the week we stayed. I can get very bored of ham & cheese, cerals and bread rolls.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the view from the hotel over the marina was soothing and the town center was a 5 min walk along the prominade.
close proximity to the centre of town and bus terminus. View from our balcony and window over the small harbour. Menu changed every night. No
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Advice regarding day trips etc. was freely given and time was taken to help with our queries. The night staff were excellent and a credit to the hotel. While the hotel was clean and I do appreciate that it is in an expensive area, it is relatively old fashioned and overall the value for money was not very good. In recessionary times I feeel that there is a need for all hotels to look at these matters and reduce prices. The Amalfi coast hotels are not immune to this fact.
location was good, sea wiev balconies perfect. breakfast was poor, old fashion rooms but clean.Don't go there in November because all restaurants closed.
Very cental. Easy access to boats for tours.
Excellent location in Amalfi - close to amenities, restaurants, boats and buses. Staff particularly helpful. A comfortable hotel. We would definitely go back and met a number of 'returners' which speaks volumes! Breakfasts could have been more exciting, but were ample. One suggestion - useful to have chairs on the balconies of rooms?
Nice view of the ocean and Amalfi coast. It was a bit difficult to find the location by car. continental breakfast was only average.
The location was fantastic and the room was large. The staff at the reception desk were very helpful. The breakfast buffet had the same things every day. Some variety would be nice.
The ambience of the hotel is really homely and unique. The bed was more comfortable than bed at home. The view from terrace at Breakfast (which was hearty) was awesome. The free internet was appreciated. No complaints, everything was great. Maybe just provide a more detailed map to guests.
The guesthouse was really centrally located, very clean and the room was a good size and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay there again. The hotel can only be accessed by climbing some steep stairs, and we didnt get any help with our luggage.
The lady who owns the hotel is lovely, always willing to help with any enquiries. Very clean and location was pretty good too.
We liked location of this hotel, good relation between staff and guests. We didn t the weather and rates, because the wether was bad and the rates were high/
Location was good There was no signage to identify the hotel and there is no internet.Breakfast was very average.
everything. beautiful, great staff, wonderful food, and those views! no
The staff was incredible No complaints
The staff were outstanding, helpful and very pleasant. They made our stay most pleasurable. Our view was a little crowded out by a large terrace interfering with our vista.
Impeccable service. courteous, professional and helpful staff; nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is beautifully located with fabulous views and you can park in front!! Noisy and uneven heating (I suppose it works better as air conditioning)
The location The staff is not very helpful, some times slightly arrogant
Wonderful Hotel Santa Catarina! We stayed 5 years ago on our honeymoon and this time it was just as wonderful Fantastic staff, fabulous views - pure luxury. Just one complaint the drinks were horrendously expensive!
The views were amazing, the rooms were spacious and the pool area made the holiday, being able to jump right into the sea from the platform was great. Was very expensive for the area, we checked out other places and felt like they would have been better value for the money.
thismust be one of the best hotels italy... an experience!
Beautiful location, lovely old fashioned luxury hotel with amazing views. Great staff, large room and big bathroom. Very much worth the money.
Hotel practically built-in to the rock, has several splendid terraces over viewing gorgeous Amalfi coast. Booking of sea view room is highly recommended. Good and various breakfast, friendly staff, very convenient deep water swimming area. Nothing to complain.
the staff was amazing and made our stay incredible. The closeness to everything downtown was also a huge plus. it is noisy over a main street and has bottles breaking as the city recycling bins are just around the corner and picked up at 5:30am every day.
Everything was fantastic. The staff was courteous, the lodging was fabulous, and the proximity to everything you want and need in Amalfi is the best. Absolutely not.
central location building site in front of hotel
The views from the terrace at breakfast. Was extremely disappointed with this hotel having read good reviews of same in advance of booking. It was not clear that this hotel is very small, more of a boutuque family run hotel with few services, basic rooms. Rooms were not spacious and were very small. This was the last hotel we stayed at on the amalfi coast and by far the most disappointing and the least value for money, completely overpriced! Would classify it as more of a budget/backpackers than a 4 star hotel. We booked this hotel as we wanted three days of rest and relaxation at the end of our holiday and the website showed decking with loungers etc. Upon check in we were directed to a beach down the street where we were obliged to pay for loungers.
view from balcony
Everything was perfect! Very comfortable.
nothing Huge noise from air conditioning which is unnecessary for outside temperature of 15 degree celcius.
Location, view from terrace Early morning road noise
Good location, nice staff and a lovely boutique feel. Good location, nice staff and a lovely boutique feel.
Staff is really nice but the place needs work. we had ants in the room, safe didn't work in the room. the staff doesn't speak any english there was mold on the AC. the bed was uncomfortable the water didn't run properly. I wish we spent more money and stayed somewhere else. It was our honeymoon too
The staff were very helpful and the location of the hotel was ideal. We also enjoyed the breakfast provided. They had a good selection of breakfast items (both quantity and quality) and excellent service.
location 's very nice. Hotel's restaurant by the sea was very romantic. you can see the sea from room's window. Hotel's interior and exterior were also very very nice. a porte-cochere man was excellent!!
Really everything about Luna appeals but the family service and the location along with the history and charm of the building appeals most
Everything is great!
Superb location with stunning sea views from our room. Very good breakfast buffet. Helpful and friendly staff. Good facilities including a great cloistered open air sitting area in the middle of the hotel. Limited choice of dinner menu options though food was pretty good. We stayed out of seaon so it may well be that in the high season they offer a greater choice. Good pool though the general area around it would benefit from a general update.
Our room had a stunning view of the coastline. The food was excellent and staff were very helpful. The restaurant 'Ristorante la Torre Saracena' across from the hotel has terrible food especially for the price and the service is weak...
We can be satisfied of wonderful scenery in Amalfi from among room in a hotel. It was a simple actually room only in the window though said that it would prepare the room where the view with the terrace was good when confirming it by telephone. It had time sad not to accept at all though May also was transmitting in the meaning of the confirmation. And It was made to pay 20 Euro higher than the amount of money confirmed by telephone. It seems not to have a too good impression for the Japanese.
It's location is superb. The views from both public and private rooms are spectacular. The staff is excellent and anticipates needs. It's ambience - converted from a convent dating to 1222 - is wonderful. Shower curtain.
Location is spectacular, excellent staff service, unique pool situation with access to the sea. Beautifully clean, historic rooms. Great atmosphere and the restaurant food was wonderful (and the view amazing). Of particular note were the wonderful staff, all helpful, cheerful and genuinely 'sympatico' and appeared truly pleased to help us enjoy our stay. I would highly recommend the hotel for a relaxing, peaceful break and from which to explore wonderful Amalfi. It was recommended to me by a friend and Hotel Luna exceeded my expectations. If for no other reason, stay here for the pool! One very small thing, they need to provide more towel/clothes hooks or rails in the bathroom for hanging towels, swimsuits and beach clothes!
Beautiful place with great service. Bathroom was in need of an update but functioned fine and was clean.
Great atmosphere, spectacular views and good service.
Loved the location and the beds were amazingly comfortable. We will return. The hotel has its own beach but guests have to pay 25 euros to get a chair and umbrella. Seemed a little cheap to charge guests for beach access.
The views, especially from terrace. Great location! Fountain in front was not working, but everything else was beautiful.
Il Nido is nicely located at the western edge of Amalfi. 10 minute walk to town. The sea view from our room was spectacular. The breakfast, overlooking the sea, was very nice. The hotel staff were very helpful and very knowlegeable about the area. Highly reccommeded!
the most beautiful location! we had a room with sea view, absolutely gorgeous!!!! it's a bit far from downtown
The view is awesome The Hotel Il Nido is a great 3 star hotel and a good place to base yourself on the Amalfi Coast. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only negative is not about the hotel but the walk to town. We were there in the peak of heat and the walk to and back is a struggle in the heat. If you like to swim perhaps a hotel closer to the beach and or with a pool may suit.
The views from the sea facing rooms were spectacular no beach access
Excellent service from owner and staff who all spoke excellent English
All rooms have a balcony with an amazing view of the sea. The room was large, clean and had a nice bathroom. The location is not entirely clear on a map view. It is not located by the sea or with easy access to it. It is about 320 stairs and 400 meters of walking on the side of the road to get to the stairs to walk down to the beach. I was disappointed in the access as I thought we would be able to go down the stairs straight to the beach. It is not nearly as close as we were led to believe (it is on the side of a mountain overlooking the sea). There was only one place to eat (which was expensive) without having to take the 320 stairs and walk to town.
Good View, large bed, views from breakfast room coffee, climb back from town
hard to find
It´s a nice little hotel with great staff and great view. I will recommend it to my friends. Ants on the balcony.
The view is very beautiful first night after a long and tired trip, during a very warm weather the air conditioner of our room wasn´t working, but then they change us to an other room. Maybe they should talk more english
The bus stops in front of the hotel (but then this contributed to the constant road traffic). Hotel is extremely overpriced, too far from downtown Amalfi, and sits on a busy road. You can't ever open the window to enjoy the view or air because the road traffic is so severe and constant from early in the morning to after midnight. Amalfi is a 30 minute walk along the busy winding road where most of the time, there is no sidewalk. We walked where we could because the bus schedule is very unreliable. We took a bus into Positano one of the days and the bus going back was a full 2 hours late but we kept being told that it's 15 minutes away. Recommend staying closer either to downtown Positano or Amalfi. Mattress and pillows were really hard and uncomfortable. Owner scowls constantly and doesn't even acknowledge guests when they walk by him.
V Clean, Great Views, Nice Breakfast Too far from town, 25 min walk not 10 mins as advertised. Hotel closes at 12 midnight and you have to ring them if you are going to be out late!!
Very good staff! Nice breakfast! Nice big clean and light room! Possibility to drink amazing lemonade. Very beautiful location a lot of lemons! To go to city by BUS (5-7 mins) that arrives twice an hour. Insects once. No own beach.
Owner/ Staff was excellent. Great service, good communication. Nice welcome, extremely friendly and genuinely helpful (sometimes a rare find in Italy). Close proximity to the road and perhaps location/ view (lack of), but the value and service far exceeded these issues.
The hotel team is great, very helpful and friendly.
The staff was really kind and helpful with us. The hotel is just next to a road, which is sometimes a little noisy.
I came to it as a basis for touring the Amalphi coast and it served our purpose in the best way.
The staff were very helpful and cheerful. They did their best to make sure this was a good holiday. The mad drivers going past the front door. But there again this was Italy!!
I liked that it was a 25 min walk outside Amalfi. The beach across the road, down 300 'easy' steps was just lovely and well worth a visit (it is possible to get a boat back to Amalfi if the steps back are too daunting). We eat in the hotel twice. The meals were cooked by mama and were simple but good. As a family run hotel, the service was very personal and wonderfuly helpful. No, although our room was a superior double and I'm not sure why. Probably that category were the rooms which were opened for the first time this year.
Staff were very helpful and friendly,The hotel is 5 minutes drive to Amalfi..Great location if you have a car as there is parking(reservation needed).Nice rooms with see view.
The room was nice, big and clean with a nice view. The difficulties parking the car. More english tv-channels would be prefferable.
The view, the view, the view! The large terrace alone is reason to stay at this hotel. Also, because of its location up in the mountain, the hotel accommodated for this - free daily shuttle bus service to and from the city centre (and the beach), and restaurants, internet available at the hotel.
The view was very good. I was looking forward to seeing the sunset over the water but this was not the case - it set over the mountains to the right.
Incredible location with an unbelievable view. Very helpful front desk staff when asked for trips or travel arrangements. excellent food at the Tato restaurant. The original room that was assigned to us was musty smelling and needed serious updating. We complained and were given a lovely room. This proves the old adage, the squeaky wheel gets the grease!
The view from the balcony. Pool size - Mouldy smell in the corridors. - No Safety box in the room. - Old towels. - Dry bakery goods at breakfast buffet.
Excellent hotel located on the mountain side providing magnificent views over the amalfi coast. Amalfi town is reached in 10 minutes by the hotel shuttle service (free) or by SITA bus (2.4 € one way). The Hotel has a private beach (costs 10 € to visit) - the beach is very nice, but it's recommended to wear shoes/sandals in the water because the pebbles can be uncomfortable when bare-footed.
It was mostly meant for elderly British couples.
views were fantastic
The view is amazing from the hotel. It is a beautiful location.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful in a very relaxed way. Although the hotel was quite a way out of Amalfi, or rather above it, there was a free and a frequent bus laid on by the hotel taking you both to the beach and Amalfi so you didn't have to take the car out. Views of Amalfi and coast breathtaking from the hotel. We had a garden suite which had great facilities and a garden terrace with fantastic views. Absolutely nothing.
The quiet location, cleanliness and very good service from the staff
Fantastic hotel in an excellent location. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and gaves us lots of advice to make our stay extra special. The room was basic but spotlessly clean and the views from the balcony fabulous. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Great location overlooking Marina with incredible views of surrounding area.
It was quaint and the outdoor garden breakfast was beautiful. We had a lovely balcony facing the sea. Staff were very pleasant helpful with recommendations about the town. Mosquitos. Expensive for a small hotel. Mold in our bathroom.
There service was better than expected
The view over the small harbour from the large balcony was fantastic. The staff were freindly and professional and really made you feel at home. Given the chance in the future I would love to stay again. Leaving ..
the location and views over the Amalfi coast
The staff was very helpful and spoke English. Very clean rooms and great breakfast. Perfect location for beach access.
We were made to feel very welcome and the staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel is very well located, close to town but to one edge of the harbour and is therefore peaceful and yet centrally placed. There is a lovely terrace looking out to the harbour for taking a relaxing breakfast in the sunshine. Thank you Hotel Aurora, we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back to see you again.
The staff is very helpful. If you get at room towards the sea the view is wonderful. Lack of parking space, but the staff was very helpful in moving the car during the day.
The staff were really helpful and eager to please. The rooms were clean and the complimentary breakfast was satisfactory. In general, hotels in Amalfi are hard to access and this one is no exception. While the staff thinks the hotel is easy to find, it isn't for someone new to the area. Be prepared to haul your luggage up a ton of seemingly endless stairs. Our room was also located right next to the lobby and when the staff came in in the morning, we got woken up to them chatting away. They also came in and stealthy cleaned our room while we were at breakfast one of the mornings which we thought was a bit strange because we weren't given the opportunity to lock things away and do what we needed to. It was just weird.
The view was of the ocean and was spectacular. The bathroom was beautifully tiled blue and amazing looking. The service was friendly and welcoming. Compared to other hotels in the area at the time, we found after booking that the price was much more than average making it not ideal for the overage in price.
Villa Felice has a wonderful view of the Mediterranean from the Amalfi coast of Italy. The staff is warm, hospitable, and very helpful with respect to finding local activities. The hotel is not in easy walking distance of the beach or central Amalfi, but the hotel staff is always ready to drive guests in the hotel's car.
Shuttle Service to Amalfi at every time, clean big and quiet rooms, friendly personal,
The shuttle bus drivers were very accommodating. The website advertised a Jacuzzi in the room. Instead it was a jacuzzi shower.
Pleasant and personal service. Home from home. Quiet and relaxing. Magnificent view.
Fantastic and amazing accomodation in Amalfi. The view from terrace(restaurant) is one of the best place to see Amalfi coast. And more friendly and kindly staff. Anytime you can use a free shuttle car from/to Amalfi downtown and private beach. We stayed a simple double room without terrace and there was one small window. You may not be satisfied with nice view from the room, but you can anytime go to terrace and see perfect view, don't worry.
The staff Andrea, Carmen Magdelana, Valerio and others whose names I d not know, but all were excellent
Very friendly, helpful staff. Great views. Practical (and essential for the region), cost inclusive parking facilities. Room walls too thin. Quite noisy early in the mornings.
Antonio was awesome. Always there and willing to help. Does this guy ever sleep? The dinner served was below par compared to restaurants in Amalfi. Honestly if they are going to provide a dinner service, they need to improve quite a bit.
I liked the furniture, the view over the harbour and the sea The traffic on the coastroad was terribly noisy - day and night but OK when the terrace-door was closed.
Excellent location, clean and great value for money.
Thorougly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Lidomare. Extremely friendly owners/staff. Great location - right in the centre of Amalfi. Good wii-fi connection (although not free; but a decent rate). Big rooms and decent bathroom. Adequate breakfast. Very happy with my stay here.
A good hotel that is close to the main sights and having the breakfast included was a reason for my choice.
Fantastic location, good size rooms, great air conditioning, extremely clean. Very dated decor in rooms - headboards on beds needed replacing - general update required on furniture in rooms.
The room was very large. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathtub. It is difficult when you are older to get in and out of a tub.
great staff breakfast was not too good
Excellent location, just 20m from Piazza Duomo and 100m from main Amalfi bus terminal. Rate EUR65 single/with simple breakfast was good value (rolls, croissants, great coffee, muesli, cornflakes, yoghurt, cake, juice). Nice family run property. Note that the entrance was a bit tricky to find - when you arrive at the bus station and look up at the bldgs you can see the sign for Lidomare however that is actually the back of the bldg. You need to find your way to the Piazza Duomo and look for the alleyway which is directly opposite the Duomo steps; there are 2 jewellry stores on the corner of the alleyway. Go left up the steps next to the Deutsche Bank office. The room I was given was semi-basement ie. my window was at the street level. I did not have any view albeit did not expect one at the rate I paid. The water pressure was very poor - a problem if you need to wash long hair.
Staff is kind and friendly. Easy access to center and transportation. Single room is too small. Towels are thin.
Very pleased, good accommodation very helpful staff, excellent location and great breakfast. Large paciaour rooms and plenty of hangers!
The location of the hotel was great -right in the middle of town and an easy walk to the beach. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a nice terrace and a newly renovated bathroom. The ac also worked great (and was well worth the 10 Euro/day investment). The staff was very helpful in suggesting day trips and other things to do in the area. We had a car with us, but didn't need to use it during our 4-day stay as everything is accesible by bus or boat and it is impossible to find a parking space anyway. The breakfasts were simple, but good enough and were served on a delightful roof terrace. You are really getting value for money by staying here. Friends of ours recently stayed at a 4-star hotel on the water. Their hotel was fine, but they literally paid DOUBLE what we did! I don't think that's worth it for a sea view! We would definitely stay at Hotel Amalfi again. There were two things that could have been better: - My mom (a senior citizen) was on the trip with us and stayed in a separate room. Unfortunately her room had a bath that hadn't been renovated that included a deep bathtub with a shower hose that you had to hold in your hands. This type of shower is not great for older folks or anyone with a physical disability. When we left, we mentioned this to the staff, and they said that we should have spoken up sooner and they would have changed her room. - The second item was the elevator which is very small with room for four at a time (or two people with luggage). We got stuck in it twice where the power and lights went off and it just stopped for about 10 seconds. The owner assured us that there was nothing to worry about, but for someone with claustrophobia, it was not ideal. I used the stairs for the rest of our stay...
It was very close to restaurants, beach and activities. Very convenient.
The hotel and location are AWESOME. It doesn't get any better than this No internet access but right at the bottom of the stairs there was an internet place that was open til 9pm. Not too bad.
I absolutely loved this hotel, it was one of the best l stayed in whilst in Italy. The staff were delightful, very friendly, helpful and informative. The rooms were clean and bright and very comfortable. Central location. Breakfast was great and the breakfast room has a beautiful terrace with a great view of Amalfi.
very nice hotel, very clean. friendly, great staff.
We are amarried couple, who travelled with our two children aged 8 and 11. For us, the stay at Hotel Amalfi was very nice. We had a functional family room at the hotel, which is nicely situated; close to the sea - yet withdrawn from the most busy part of town. The hotel garden was very pleasant. Both children liked to sit there and read, pet the cat and discover the trees and flowers growing there. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking Amalfi and its surroundings was great! Furthermore, the staff was very helpful. The tour operator (bus + guide) they recommended for Pompeii-Vesuv was wonderful and made the trip a good experience for both childeren and grown-ups. The staff in general were very nice to children. An additional plus: The night watchman showed us where the light swithch of the roof terrace was so that my husband and I could there to read and write postcards after the kids had gone to bed.
Reception staff excellent, and very helpful, informative. Hotel location good, room clean, breakfast lovely! Cleaning staff start early, and are not very quiet...
Really excellent staff, very friendly end helpfull. I love them !!! Great central lokation. At the night is the lokation (a street side) a bit noise, windows are not a sound proof...
Location was good, parking on spot, had to pay but it was convenient. Needs more cleanlines especially bedding, rooms need more furnishings.
