Pleasant room with balcony. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Hot water not available until 7 am - had some cold showers!
Nice large rooms, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Hard to locate, even in the small city of Pompei.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, particularly good with children. They really couldn't do any more to make us feel welcome. The rooms could be noisy at night time.
best thing about the hotel was the excellent location, walking distance from the pompei ruins
It is a fair deal for the price. I recommend it to those coming to visit Pompei on a tight budget. Yes, the douche was leaking water but the bathroom was very clean and nice.
Small family-run hotel. Very clean with very friendly and helpfull staff. Hotel within easy walking distance from Pompei ruins.
The staff was most accomodating and helpful. The location of the hotel was very good, inbetween the main train station and one of the circumvesuviana stops. It was nice that they had breakfast laid out 24-7 so you could grab a snack at any time of the day. No English-language TV channels.
The hotel staff members were very kind and kindly answered all our questions
Staff was fantastic. Man at desk spoke good English. Was helpful, gave ideas for touring, restaurants, etc. Let us use computer when ours was broken to check with family. Made sure parking was taken care of, gave extra food with breakfast with encouragement to "Manga!" (EAT!) It is a hostel, not the Ritz. What we expected.
Friendly, helpful staff, free wireless internet, large room only one staff member spoke some english which for my husband and I, who are American, made asking questions about how to see the historic sights and getting directions difficult but not impossible. We did manage to see everything we had planned to see.
very good hotel, situated in a strategic position to visit the city and the other tourist resorts; they gave us free parking for the Pompeii Ruins. Excellent services, confortable rooms and very friendly staff. we suggest it.
The hotel is close to the city centre and the historic remains of Pompei are within walking distance. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
kindness and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms , the location near the center and not noisy, the new structure, modern and welcoming, the restaurant where we ate excellent grilled fish. also gave us free parking for the pompeii ruins. We also return because the hotel is located near the motorway and we were able to arrive to Naples and Sorrento without going crazy to find your way. Very good.
good breakfast, good parking, delicious restaurant across the street 1) centre-hotel waling distance a bit large, and through a dessertic zone, which may not be pleasant at night; 2) not 4 stars worth it based on the room quality, but rather a 3 or 3+
The personnel was very kind and helpful. The internet connection in the room was free and worked very well all the time. The breakfast was ok. The hotel was peaceful with a little garden. About 1 km to the Pompei scaves. The receptionist took us to the railway station when we left the hotel without asking it, very kind! (And I forgot tip...) Cheese and ham were in warm plate during the breakfast time and seemed nothing but fresh.
Friendly Staff Bit out of the way, good job we had the car
I liked pretty much everything about it. It was clean, comfortable and affordable. We could have stayed at a more expensive place, but we figured we would use the room to sleep and get cleaned up. The rest of the time would be spent sightseeing. The breakfast was a typical small Italian breakfast. Just coffee and a croissant. The ones are very nice and although there was a bit of a language barrier, we had no trouble communicating. I highly recommend this place for someone looking for a clean comfortable place without all of the amenities of a big hotel. We arrived about 3.5 hours before the check in time and figured we would just leave our bags and go sightseeing. The place is accessible through a locked gate with an intercom. Unfortunately, no one was there and we had to sit at the corner cafe for a few hours. As I stood outside the gate trying to call them, I could hear their phone ringing inside. So, I knew they were not there. Eventually someone answered and let us in.
Brilliant location with spacious, clean rooms. The staff were extremely helpful, to the point when asked if there were any yoghurts for breakfast they sent someone out to buy more! All staff on reception spoke good English and were always willing to help with directions, trains, buses etc. Situated next to an entrance to the ruins, a market in the square and about 10 minutes walk into town - perfect! the only criticism was that there was no fresh fruit with the breakfast
Closeness to Pompeii..made this a good choice...walk across square to enter the site.Free parking on site. No where close to eat. You need a car. Nice restaurants in Pompeii town iteslf though around themain piazza.
Great location, nice big rooms, great balconies.
Concierge was knowledgeable about the surrounding attractions, the rooms were very spacious and comfortable, a great location right next to Pompeii's ruins
The best thing about the hotel was its proximity to the main entrance to Pompei, Porta Marina and to the train station. For visitors who stay only for a night or two and with the precise objective of visiting the excavations and maybe going up on the vulcano it is ideal. The staff was very helpful, I needed something at 3 am and somebody was there, very curteous. They also are connected to a very nice pizzeria that delivers at the hotel a delicious pizza, much better than many we have tasted during our stay in Italy. Breakfast was decent, but no more. Air conditioning worked well. Bathroom was clean and nice enough. Our room was very noisy, as the windows overlooked the main road. I couldn't sleep very well.
The location was great and the price reasonable.
It was very close to Pompeii ruins Some of the staff were arogant
Close proximity to Pompei.
Close to one of the entrances of Pompei Scavi. nothing good about the hotel itself. The electricity circuit for my room failed but an unfriendly/unhelpful/offensive staff, who has a limited English understanding, did not even offer a different room until complained in Italian. Breakfast was left uncovered at tables in the morning. I would not recommend it at all.
The air conditioner worked. Apart from that, absolutely nothing! Stale croissant, old cake, lukewarm tea, mouldy/bruised fruit for breakfast. No lift. Only one staff member was helpful and polite. Furthest hotel from train station. Directly under motorway so nonstop traffic noise. No minibar as advertised. WAY overpriced for what we got. No way is this a 3 star hotel. Restaurant prices too expensive. Worst hotel we have ever stayed at, and we usually stay in 2 star hotels!
This was our second stay here. The first time was 2005 and we learned to really enjoy all of your personnel, from the front desk to the waiters. They were so friendly and helpful. We looked for some of them this time (2010) but couldn't find any of them but we did learn to enjoy the people you have working for you now as well.. Hard to understand and work the a/C. Also it didn't produce much cold air.
The location was very convenient for the site of ancient Pompeii and the circumvesuviana railway. I found the Hotel was also only 40 minutes walk from the ancient site of Villa Regina with its museum at Boscoreale. This is much quicker than public transport but you will need directions or a good map of the area. Very little choice at Breakfast, although this may be typical of hotels in Italy. On one day the dining area was unusually crowded with the waiter on duty finding it difficult to cope. I gave up waiting for a coffee on this occasion. This was also the main reason for moving my rating of the staff from the 'good' to 'fair' category.
The breakfast was apaling. the tea was made with warm water (luke warm), hence was unable to infuse. the reception person went to the kitchen and put chocolate spread on a hard croissant. this would be an unaceptable breakfast for a 3 year old child with finiky tastes. it was worse than having absolutely nothing. the restauraunt meal was okay, but the cover charge and service charge on top seemed unreasonable for the service and the type of food on offer i.e. pizza! nothing or any noteable skill needed to prepare. There is no lift at the hotel, and there was no offer of any assistance to carry bags upstairs.
easy walking distance to ruins and train station to Napoli; secure parking. poor breakfast; traffic noise if windows not closed during night
The hotel was in a good location for Porta Marina gates to the ruins. Also, the train station for circumvesuvia train line at same location, although it does not run on a Sunday! Everything was good with the hotel till we booked out, and they tried to charge us for evening meals which we did not have. There was no apology either!
Location Could not get broken drinks cooler repaired.
It was strategically located near the Pompei ruins and, as this was the main reason for our visit, was ideally suited to our pruposes. The rooms were a little cramped, and the noise from outside at night was very bothersome. Otherwise ok.
The hotel is very conveniently situated for visiting the Pompeii ruins and for a pleasant stroll into the new town. The room was small but clean & tidy. Very poor breakfast, not the best introduction to our stay in Italy. We were given a plateful of pre packaged items and on asking were given fresh orange juice, we were not offered refills of tea or coffee. Once served the staff then concentrated on setting up the room for their lunchtime visitors.
Price was to high for the actual amenities location was perfect- the price is probably reflects this
Stylish decor; friendly staff; very convenient location; spacious room and bathroom; adjacent room provided for our children as we had requested Limited choice at breakfast
The service was fantastic. They were very informative and helpful. Accommodation- wise, the facilities were very clean and comfortable. N/A
The hotel is right next to the Pompei excavation entrance. Very close walk. Big plus is the on-premiss free parking The hotel is located on the main street. The amount of noise that comes from the street is disturbing at the evening and night time.
The staff was very knowlegable and friendly and ensured that their guests were satisfied. They provided us with a voucher for a discount at a nearby restaurant. The breakfast was the same every day. Also the hotel was located on a busy street so it was very noisy at night.
The staff were great, very friendly and very helpful. The food at the restaurant was generally excellent. The best thing though, was being able to relax in the beautiful pool at the end of a long day! The beds were quite old and a bit saggy.
The staff were good, the pool was lovely but it was in need of some updating. The food was basic. It is a good hotel for a whistle-stop visit to Pompeii. Very good location for the site. I did not like the fact that the hotel charged €8 per day extra for air conditioning.
It was very hot so the pool was wonderful also the food was nice but the staff was great. No, but it was not made clearly enough that you had to pay extra for airconditioning, but it was worth it as it was extreamly hot.
It was the swimming pool within the hotel which is a matter of charm. It's common to include ac within price of hotel which was not as well as as not much of toileries were provided.
Breakfast is great. About 500 meters from the Pompei ruins park entrance. Room was excellent, clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff very kind and available to help all the time. Cannot recall anything.
The swimming pool was a big plus after looking round pompeii in the heat. Also it is 5m walk from Pompeii ruins so great location, The fact you have to pay extra for air conditioning was annoying. Without air conditioning its unbearable.
Close to railway station and to Pompeii Escavations. Restaurant was conveniant and good. Lack of included breakfast.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was very close to the entrance to the ruins so ideally located and the pool was well kept and lovely after a day walking around Pompei. It was also very easy to get to teh train station to take you to other places to visit such as Herculaneum or Sorernto. Food in the restuarant was also adequately priced and tasty. All good for a reasonably priced, well situated hotel.
Location, pool Restaurant food, choice, service, staff attitude, no wine by the glass, scruffy furniture,
The location is convenient to the ruins of Pompei (Pompei Scavi) and the 7 Euro breakfast was decent. That is all I can say about Villa dei Misteri. I do not recommend staying near the ruins and would suggest instead to stay in Sorrento or another coastal town. The room was not clean. I specifically requested (twice) a non-smoking room. I was given a room that smelled like the staff had just smoked a carton of cigarettes, and even had an ashtray. There were dirty used tissues around the bed. Staff was sullen and unhelpful, except for one young man.
Friendly, helpfull staff. Clean, comfortable room. Good views from balcony. Secure accomadation with gated parking.
They took good care of us. Someone was always there. They knew our name. Were very helpful in getting around town. It was close to the places we wanted to go. Pompeii was just a couple of blocks away. We took the train to Sorrento which was about a 15 minute walk. Our next stop was Mt. Vesuvuis which was a short trip. Very convenient location.
It was the best hotle we stayed in in Italy! The people who ran it were incredibly friendlsy and very very helpful and kind!!! The breakfast was elegant the room quiet and clean and comfortable..the people were the best part!!!!!!!
Nice hotel, 5 minute walk to Pompeii. Free parking, nice staff and breakfast
The hotel was in a convenient location, very close to Old Pompei. The staff were friendly and tried their best to help you find your way around town. The rooms are basic, but clean and satisfactory. The rooms aren't very soundproofed. I could hear, very clearly, conversations, televisions, dogs, and motorcycles throughout the night. The hotel is good for one or two nights, but not for long term stays.
It was a nice family runned hotel, located very nearby Pompei excavations. You can park the park behind the hotel in a safe private parking lot. We also had a nice balkony. Breakfast is good. People very friendly. No
I loved he staff, very family oriented, good location, nice balcony facing the mountains, great bread at breakfast
Staff very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is perfect for visiting the ruins in Pompeii or the main shopping centre. No
Friendly staff let us into room at 11am to leave baggage and organised taxi for departure. Very noisy plumbing!
friendliness of staff and locality not much for breakfast
I liked the hospitality of the proprieters It is right on the town square and consequently quite loud until late at night.
Central location Proprietor speaks no English whatsoever, we spoke no Italian whatsoever, this was a problem. The room is very noisy as it is so central. If you close the window it is then very hot.
proximity to the stations and pompeii ruins. Good and Helpful staff Towels Quality can be improved.Breakfast facility within premises preferable.
Easy to find and free parking (parking not usually available, but we were the only guests) The landlady would not accept the price shown on our booking.com confirmation. She claimed she didn't have to accept that price. She wanted e10.00 More, and there was no breakfast as per the booking confirmation. We had breakfast elsewhere, and this was an additional expense. We paid up as it was late when we got into the hotel..
Staff were very pleasant and friendly, it was a good job one of us spoke Italian. We thought the room was paid for when booked on the Internet as Card details were taken but on arrival it seems that was not the case, fortunately we had cash as the hotel did not accept any cards.
This accommodation is rooms in a big apartment composed of 3-4 rooms, a kitchen and an office. Although outside of the apartment looks very untidy due to renovation, once you are inside, you would find a different world. The inside was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was quite nice with warm hospitality of the owner. It is 10 minutes' driving distance from the Pompei historical ruins. Within walking distance (5 minutes), a big supermarket. It was not easy to find this accommodation even with a gps. We had to call the contact number and was guided by the owner's car. Parking garage is a bit difficult to get an access but it was overcomed by the kind guidance of the owner.
The helpfulness of the staff, the beautiful courtyard gardens, secure car parking, in all a really good experience. I very rarely rate anything as excellent but this hotel is really close to being so. There was less sound insulation from adjacent rooms than I would have like, although the occupants were not particularly noisey.
Great proximity to Pompei train station and a 10 minute walk to main entrance of ruins.
After a long trip down to Pompeii, we were welcomed into the oasis of the Hotel Diana, by great staff and wonderful ambiance. Highly recommend.
The very kind and warm personell, the beautiful garden. We felt at home immediately. Just like we were part of the family. sometimes noisy in the night ( cleaning the streets, traffic ) but we did not find this very bad, especially because the things I mentioned above
Friendly service; garden Room a little noisy
Ask for Allesandro as a tour guide
Excellent location, convenient to historical site. Very small room.
We booked only one night and stayed for 3 nights :-) very nice hotel staff, perfect location in Pompei town centre, very clean, safe parking, internet ...
I thought the Reception Staff were very friendly & helpful, they did all they could to make our stay enjoyable.
The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. They had no hesitation in preparing a full days schedule for a tour of the Amalfi Coast.
Extremely nice, helpful, and friendly staff. Staff positive attitude to hotel guests is really exceptional there. Very clean and very nice atmosphere. I strongly recommend Diana hotel for visiting not only Pompei and Vezuvius, but also Napoli. When you will visit Pompei you will be able to compare clean, attractive, and friendly Pompei and Diana hotel with situation in Napoli. Napoli is very interesting for visit but I strongly recommend not to stay there but in Diana hotel im Pompei. Napoly is just 25-30 minutes from Napoli cetral station by train.
We booked the hotel since it was close to the Pompei ruins. The hotel was clean comfortable and the staff was very helpful. Their restaurant had excellent very fresh seafood. So it met our objective. Although I liked the hotel it is in a very run down city. I would only recommend it for those that want to be close to the Pompei ruins.
The building is modern, clean and comfortable and the grounds are beautiful. The staff is very attentive and efficient. The continental breakfast is excellent. We were even offered the services of a shuttle bus to reach the ruins and again in the evening to go out for dinner. The wireless Internet, though free, does not work in all the rooms. There is, however, excellent reception in the comfortable sitting area near the reception desk and in the garden.
Hotel was modern, clean and comfortable
Pretty much everything. Very little to say here.
Very friendly staff who were always helpful, would recommend to anyone. the directions to it were not good
Very friendly and helpful staff, food was excellent and room was very clean and functional As a family of four adults it was a shame that we had to have one double bed and a bunk bed which was a real struggle.
The owners couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, good base for touring the ruins at Pompeii and reasonably priced. Very clean and very adequate for our stay while touring Italy.
Warm, friendly, helpful staff. Lovely breakfast in fascinating dining room. Good central location.
The staff was very friendly. I booked a quadruple room, but, apparently, rooms there are all double and they just squeeze more bunk beds in a room to make it triple or quadruple. Therefore, there was no space in the room whatsoever. The shower cubicle was small and the shower was fixed.
close to historic district very sober room for the price
very helpful staff near to ruins and railway station and places to eat very clean accommodation noisy during the night with traffic
The Pompeii ruins are a very short walk away from the hotel. Makes seeing the ruins very convenient and stress-free. Also, the staff was very helpful. Even if they knew very little English, they were super helpful and we always found a way to communicate. Showers are typically small in Italy, but this was probably one of the smallest showers I've seen. Could still use it, though.
This is a small family run hotel and we were made most welcome. Claudio ,Stefano and their family did all they could to make ,not only our stay at their hotel, but our visit to the general Naples area as enjoyable as possible. The facilities are perfectly adequate in a hotel of this size and price.I would like to put in a good word also for the modern town of Pompeii. It's a very pleasant small town with friendly people. One thing to watch out for is the overpricing by the local taxi drivers. It's a small place ,walk!
Very helpful and accommodating staff/owner
