The room (in a complex of ski lodges) was lovely and exceptionally, clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is right at the end of a long steep road at the foot of a piste, which would allow you to ski down to it in the winter, but makes it a long walk into town in the summer. The restaurant looked lovely, but the prices were too high to make it an option and 20 euros for breakfast meant that we didn't use it at all. Which was a shame as it looked really nice.
Location was superb for skiing - couldn't be closer to the piste. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, charming and very well appointed Restaurant was very expensive for evening meal and breakfast.
the breakfast was very delicious, view for the mountaines was beautiful
We were only there for one night so it is difficult to give an opinion, apart from the fact that the staff were very nice and the evening meal we had was excellent. The hotel was close to the autoroute and our room was at the front, so we found the road very disturbing in the night.
Very helpful staff, good location near the Mont Blanc tunnel, particularly for short stay
Flat screen TV Awful furnishing inside the rooms. They should have been refurbished a long time ago. Those rooms have not been redecorated since the 80's!!! No snacks on offer at night. No room service. Pass your way!
Friendly, helpful staff. fantastic views of the mountains. Nice meal and wonderful setting for the meal (by the swimming pool with mountain views. Nice breakfast. Also very handy for the motorway.
Clean and comfortable friendly staff. no drink making facilities in the room
The hotel was in an easy location from the motorway, lots of parking spaces. The hotel room was clean. Very nice swimming pool. Was unable to use hotel restaurant due to their Bank holiday, only one staff on duty, no advice on anywhere else to eat, only Mc Donalds.
Clean, comfortable, good food
Quick access to motorway, clean, free parking, kind staff Breakfast on Sundays starts only at 8
Very friendly helpful staff It would have been very helpful to have coffee making facilities in the room.
The staff were attentive whilst remaining discrete. Room was charming with great views.
Our room was charming and well appointed, with lovely mountain views from the balcony. The menu du jour was good value and excellent quality, delivered with friendly service. We also enjoyed swimming in the indoor / outdoor pool, surrounded by some great views. The only issue we had was that we found the bed rather soft for our taste.
Nice and comfortable, good food at restaurant. Facilities are nothing extraordinary but OK value for money. 50 min away from Chamonix by highway Breakfast is expensive (12 Euros) considering the choice. Bathroom had no door and shower was by the sink so it was a big wet mess at times. Old table with rusty nails in spa, danger for kids
lovely hotel very bad restaurant
nothing stands out as great but a reasonable hotel and no complaints. bit dated and not a cheap alternative but satisfactory. pool and jacuzzi was a bonus and area is nice with a sports complex less than half a mile away. everything was fine but nothing stood out
The room was spacious with a lovely view, the pool/jacuzi were lovely. We ate dinner on the first night which was very nice and quite reasonable. The bathroom/shower was tiny and in need of an update would have been nice if the modern contempory shower/wash area was the same in the rooms for what we paid. Also the service at dinner was extremely slow only one girl for approx 15 covers, we waited at least half an hour before we could order even a drink
The staff were great and we also used the pool. I liked the balcony with the room. The beds were not that comfortable!
Friendliness of the owners
Good coffee and breakfast, but expensive. Bedroom and ensuite incredibly small. No sound proofing between rooms and very noisy throughout the night.
friendly staff, very warm! good facilities and storage a bit noisy at times
This has been the best hotel experience in the last few years. And we've stayed at quite a few. Everything was absolutely perfect for our purpose (ski holiday in the Grand Massif area). Hotel staff was great in making us comfortable as if at home, amongst family members. Food was really gourmet and the room was spotless.
Excellent welcome and friendly service. Very good facilities.
Great location. Very friendly staff. Leisure facilities great - was good that access to sauna/jacuzzi etc was restricted to adults.
Very friendly staff, nice countryside, nice rooms, nice breakfast.
Friendly staff; family atmosphere; nice dining room Bathroom needs to be redone
The Neige et Roc at Samoens was an outstanding hotel with exceptional food, great staff, good location for ski bus and a friendly atmosphere. None!
Indoor and Outdoor pools. Staff. It is a bit of a walk to the village centre
Traditional mountain hotel. Clean and comfortable. Appeared to have good facilities although we didn't have time to make use of them. Conveniently located, walking distance to the town centre.
We received a very warm welcome and the staff were always keen to please. THe owners are lovely and hosted a fondue evening with music which was great fun. THe hotel was well managed.
good atmosphere, plenty of food friendly staff poor bathroom for such a good hotel needs updating
Very friendly staff and rooms are excellent value. Plenty of parking and skiing only 15 minutes drive up the mountain. A convenient base avoiding resort hotel prices Food & drink is quite expensive
Charming hosts; relaxed atmosphere; excellent food. a very covenient location to visit more than one centre and for skiing in nearby resorts. Road is busy but not disturbing in the rooms
No food available on Sunday evenings Locked from door compromises access to the main building from Chalets in the grounds
The owner was just a real gentlemen - superb
The staff was perfectly helpfull, the hotel looks quite new, good value for money, there is a nice food in the hotel's restaurant It was not a big problem for me but the hotel is situated next to two roads so it is not very quiet
We booked 2 night at the Chalet through Booking.com and unfortunately when we got there the manager explained that there is only one night available
Pleasant reception, comfortable, clean room where everything worked. Very good food. As it is on main autoroute can be noisy but is well soundproofed
Great location & very comfortable beds so for us, using this as a stop over it was ideal. Close to some cracking restaurants and just across from a reasonably priced bar. Parking available directly in front of the hotel too. One of the reasons we booked this as a stop over was that, after 10hrs of driving we were looking forward to using the spa facilities. Despite being advertised as open until 9pm we found it closed at 7pm and were met with shrugs & grunts as to why this was the case. We didn't eat at the hotel and chose somewhere else for drinks too as the bar was terrifyingly expensive. Despite these niggles the beds were supremely comfortable and if you can get a duplex room sleeping four then its great value.
Very good. At all details. Good for families and good to stay. Everything was fine.
The hotel is located in the centre of Samoens village, convenient to shops and restaurants. The quad room was perfect, as the mezzanine created what was virtually a separate room for the children. We also enjoyed both the swimming pools. Sound proofing at mezzanine level was not good. The double bed was very uncomfortable.
Not a very welcoming atmosphere,
We booked a double room with twin beds but they could accomodate a triple room with queen size bed without price supplement.Decoration simple, not typical, but acceptable. We could check out at 11am. The rooms are noisy. The matress was too soft and we couldn't sleep well. The cleaning was too early the day after (sunday) around 9am. Breakfast was closed at 9am.It's a claissical old fashion hotel and the overall deco doesn't evoke a mountain hotel.
Central to town. Convenient to shops and few restaurants (booking was essential if you wanted to eat in hotel or out in town, though). Considering the money paid for the room (130 euros per night), the room was gloomy, extremely small and very basic. No meals were included in the price and when we did ask to eat in the Dining Room there were no vacancies. Information signage was very poor. Poor car parking. The small town was unable to service the need during the week (Feb half-term holiday) due to over commercialization with short-stay apartments. Whilst there was a ski bus provided, there was no information in the hotel where to catch it from. As a ski resort, the lift system was poorly thought out with only one small gondola lift up from the village. Runs very crowded and at times dangerous. I would not go to this resort again even though it was a pretty alpine village
it was a nice hotel and we had a great weekend. however sadly we found the staff and in particular the manageress rude and unhelpful.
Peaceful and quiet hotel that can be recommended for people willing to escape crowded holiday places and enjoy picteresque mountain view. Great swimming pool. The hotel is in the very centre of Samoens but a little bit difficult to find.
Spacious room, good location
Rooms and standard of accomodation, position for access to slopes (really close), helpfulness of staff, ease of parking, ski facilities and security of lockers etc.. Other facilities close to hotel; it's a drive or a good walk back (uphill) from the village. Didn't bother us, but might some.
Superb room size, quiet and great views over the Alps. Large bed. Only one minor point. The bath had no hot water although the shower was piping hot.
Next to ski run (though didn't use!) Beautiful setting. Modern clean attractive room. Bed was a little bit too small.
Location Minor: A number of light bulbs blown in one room
Room was very comfortable and clean with a great view. It would be great if there were coffee facilities in room.
What a fantastic location! The piste down to the main gondola station is literally at the bottom of the drive about 20 yards from the ski lockers in the garage. We took the apartment which is very spacious and well equiped with a large balcony overlooking the pistes. We saved a fortune on bar bills by stocking up the fridge and chilling out in there rather than the local bars. I am certain I have never stayed at a better place for skiing and the price was pretty reasonable. The hotel manager even ordered in some bread, croissants and pain aux chocolat for us each day from the local baker which ended up only costing 1€ per person per day. Excellent service and very friendly. It's a bit of a walk into town for restaurants in the evenings but it only took 10-15 minutes which isn't bad really and you couldn't be right on the slopes if you were in the main part of the town. There was no kettle in the apartment so we had to boil pans of water for tea but I guess that serves us right for being British, there was a nice coffee machine for those in our group that wanted coffee and in every other way the kitchen was well equiped.
It was looking out to the ski slope and all we had to do in the mornings was get dressed and out onto the slopes.Plus the aparment was the best we have stayed in on a ski holiday. Can't fault it!!!
Very pleasant staff, and Marie-Claire was patient and helpful before and during our stay. They were also very flexible when possible,eg allowed us to use the garage facilities at no extra cost several hours after check out. Perfectly positioned for the slopes, with ski-in/ski-out. I fully recommend this excellent value hotel.
The room was ready at 11:00 thus we could enter earlier then advertised
Quiet, picturesque location. Friendly, helpful staff.
Beautiful views, lovely quiet, great swimming pool & jacuzzi, lovely dinner, gorgeous area, easy to find.
friendly and relaxed atmosphere the food was acceptable but could be a bit better
They disinformed us that they are locatecd 12 km away from Chamonix.Actually it is 80!!! km away from Chamonix. 80 km through small roads, so trip to Chamonix took more than 1.5 hour!!!!
sleep no bar
Proximity to ski slopes, rooms comfortable, hot water always available staff pleasant , food varied and tasteful. pleasant stay. lack of a facility to have a drink upon return from ski ing Could really do with a bar area open from say 1600 hours, for some this would be a reason not to re book Not exexactly a dislike but there was no written english translation on rules or menus etc
Location. Nice and quiet and beautiful old village. Needed a double bed rather than two singles pushed together.
