The staff that handled the breakfast was wonderful. Marsha took time out of her hustle and bustle to check on my wife and I. It was so incredibly genuine. She even gave us each a big hug and told us we need to come back and see her. We truly enjoyed our stay, but if everything had went wrong, we would still come back just to see Marsha! She is the quintessential representation of hospitality.
We were very disappointed in the quality of hotels around Kings Dominion. We stopped at many before finding this great hotel. We do not write reviews but felt we had to start with this one. \n \nWe did not use the gym or pool but they looked very nice. The room was fresh and very pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the service was friendly. Compared to the other hotels in this area, this hotel was a giant leap above. \n \nBen and Julie
The hotel was very convenient on our way to Virginia Beach. It was clean, comfortable and there was a free breakfast. Breakfast could have been better, but it was adequate. They ran out of newspapers early on, too. Overall, it was a fine place to stay for one night - I would recommend it.
Read these reviews, and chose this hotel.. Better than expected!! Great hotel, clean hotel, great staff, great location to theme park!!!! Would love to stay here again!!!!
The friendliness and welcoming staff was wonderful. The pool and hot tub was exceptional. They have a no diving policy but did allow for my son to jump from the side as kids always want to do. The room as standard and not anything exceptional that I would expect from a newer Holiday Inn property. Both bed matresses were hard and the beds sit lower to the floor than other hotels we frequent and not comfortable to either or my son. The full hot breakfast buffet was frozen biscuits, preformed eggs, sausage gravy, and sausage patties, cereal, pancake maker and had no fruit except for bananas. Would I go back??? Yes, but I would try a Suite in hopes of a better bed. Oh, and go out for breakfast.
My family of 4 (including 20 and 22 year old children) drove from CT to Hilton Head, SC last summer and needed a place to stop and spend the night along the way. This hotel was a perfect spot for that. Easy on/off the highway, clean room, good continental breakfast and dining options for dinner the evening we arrived right nearby. Would stay there again if we ever find ourselves along that stretch of the highway.
Chose this hotel after our visit to Kings Domion. We got a suite that exceeding my expectations. We had two beds and a pull out couch which accomidated my family of 5.5 very well. We even had 2 seperate TVs. Hotel was very clean and beautiful. It was close to Kings Dominon and easy to find. There were also several food places within walking distance. The gas station was located right in front of the hotel and we were about .5 miles from I95. I would recommend this hotel if quality is a biggie for your family.
At first I was skeptical because of some previous reviews, but the location won out. The hotel was great! Clean, friendly staff and easy access to I-95. There are several restaurants nearby. We will use this hotel again!
We had the grandkids stay with us and they had a great time. Between the free wi-fi service, the pool, and wide variety on the breakfast bar, they didn't want to go back home. The hotel was very busy, because of a dance competition going on, but it was still very quiet even with tons of teens around. We will definately go back to stay!
I loved the stay at the Holiday Inn Express Suites North. They were spacious, clean, and very nicely furnished. The hotel staff was very friendly and will to help out in anyway that they could. Even giving directions to a great restaurant! The hotel was very quiet. You couldn't hear a soul in the rooms next door. You feel as if you are the only one on the floor!! Even though it is near the interstate, you can't hear anything from the street around you. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I will definitely be staying there again.
My family and I chose Holiday Inn Express after reading positive reviews from others and because we wanted accommodations that were close to Kings Dominion. We were very impressed with the friendly staff and overall cleanliness, and we have no complaints to offer. Would recommend this hotel to others!
Tried to reserve two rooms online and had a problem with one of the rooms. Called hotel and confirmed the online reservation (2 queens non-smoking) and reserved the other room (2 queens with sleeper sofa, non-smoking) via telephone with reservation clerk. Received confirmation number for online booking and confirmation number from reservation clerk. Arrived at hotel with my sisters and their families and was told that I reserved 1 King bed with sleeper sofa and 2 queens non-smoking. I was also told that the confirmation that was given to me was for 1 King bed. I told the front desk clerk and the assistant hotel manager that I would not have reserved 1 King bed based on the adults that had to share that room. The non-smoking room with 2 queen beds smelled like an ash tray. Needless to say, the smell did not help my neice's asthma any. The desk clerk sprayed the room with air freshner and took the can back to the front desk. She stated that she could not leave the can in the room because they only had one (small) can. The room with the 1 King bed had 4 small full-size pillows with no pillow cases. I had to call front desk for pillow cases. There also were no pillows for the sleeper sofa. One cot was offered because that was all that could fit in the room. The hotel was booked and no other room could be offered, nor any type of discount or apology. I was told that it was no way that they could look up the person's name that made my reservations. What could have been a wonderful trip was ruined behind the hotel reservations. Never again!
Room looked just like the pictures online, no surprises. No
It was convenient to Route 95, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was plentiful and well done. The room had a horrible odor, had to ask for febreeze and something to spray on the carpet. The air conditioner didn't work as it should have leaving the room very humid and smelly.
wonderful place to stay! clean, comfortable, friendly staff, spacious rooms - be sure to try Anna's Pizza in the shopping center behind the hotel - excellent pasta!
This hotel was very nice and clean. They provided free internet and free breakfasts. The only thing that could've been fixed that wasn't was the pool. It was closed.
Proximity to highway , king sized beds Could upgrade breakfast with omelet type egg presentation .
the pleasant and curteous staff, hotel was very clean and breakfast was excellent and always replenished.
we love staying at this hotel. the room are always neat and clean. the complimentary breakfast are always great and have a nice variety of food
ROOM WAS CLEAN. BATHROOM WAS UP TO DATE. LOCATION FROM 295 WASPERFECT BREAKFAST WAS OK. NOT AS GOOD AS SOME HAMPTON INNS THAT WE'VE BEEN TOO. NO NEWSPAPER OFFERED.
The staff. Bathrooms had no towel racks.
Mariah at the front desk was an absolute doll! She was kind and friendly. She remembered us days after check in and asked us if we needed anything. Thank you Mariah! N/A
Very spacious roomy area. Had a mini fridge and microwave and the beds were comfortable. Nothing
Great location, great staff. The room was clean and comfortable. Free breakfast, parking, and internet. Small breakfast area and no microwave in room.
We have stayed here a few times, always very clean and quiet which is exactly what we need. And breakfast was great! The only reason I could not give all 10's is that no one was at the front desk upon arrival. We didn't have to wait too long, a few mins but it was a bit confusing at first.
Staff was very hospitable. Rooms smell like humidity. Toilet seat and toilet bowl need to be replaced.
Nothing Dirty, run down, plumbing broken, staff was unprofessional.
Clean, nice, updated rooms, and excellent breakfast.
Staff, good breakfast, good bar. They put us into a handicapped room, and we are not handicapped. We were not provided an alternative choice, even though the hotel appeared half empty.
It was up to date and clean. The breakfast the first day was very good but went downhill from there. We stayed 4 days and on the breakfast on the 4th day was bad.
Very comfortable and appealing room. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included, but pretty blah.
The 24/7 snack area N/A
We love all the space in the room. Sleeping area is separated from the lounging area. VERY comfortable bed. Best night sleep in a long time. Enjoyed breakfast items; staff made sure food was available and hot.
First Rate Hotel.
Staff was so friendly and helpful. Clean and quiet
Great location, amazing staff, very nice property!
Very cordial, competent staff Clean room with all needed amenities Excellent breakfast Great location near I64 A bit pricey but not egregiously so.
Free internet, pleasant service, nice rooms. The pillows sucked, bring your own pillows. Had to pay extra for faster internet.
Staff was amazing, very friendly!1
Location, after long day at Kings Dominion, just down the road They don't keep the A/C on in the rooms when they are not occupied, so prepare to walk into a sauna and the A/C is sub par, took nearly two hours to cool the room down, and it was 1130pm when I checked in. I reserved two non smoking rooms, upon check in, one room smelled like an ash tray. The front desk was nice and gave me another set of joining non smoking rooms, again one of them smelled like cigarettes. Finally on the third try, successfully found two joining non smoking rooms.
got the job done AC was loud
Nothing The first thing I noticed was the black mold in the room, secondly the used bar of soap in the shower thirdly three very thin and small pillows on a king size bed. There was exposed electrical above the sink. My husband and I woke up with sore throats and couldn't breath. The bed was itchy and I felt like something was crawling on me all night. Not to mention the bed was hard as a rock.
Friendly staff No ice machine on 2nd floor Only 2 towels in room No tv Ceiling caving in
The location was right off the highway and surrounded by restaurants. The staff was friendly. We had no towels and no TV remote when we checked in. The beds are small (fulls, not doubles) and not very comfortable.
When me and my fiance got in the room, it smelled like a cat had peed in the room. The bathroom walls were disgusting as well as the toilet. The bed was very uncomfortable. No trashcan in the room. Lights did not work. It was a terrible stay. Won't stay there again.
Price and location Border around base of wall falling off and grossly dirty, dead smashed bugs on walls, could barely get in bathroom as it was so small you had to straddle toilet to get door closed again, almost fell in shower bc floor was so slick, and towels were thin and very small (not much bigger than hand towel), beds were old and pretty firm, but they were on rolling frames so they didn't stay against wall - I recommend only staying here in complete desperation if no where else is available. Oh!, they also tried to charge us more than what "booking.com" and said would be charged, I had to "make" them honor the correct price and the guy obviously was irritated by this and gave me only 1 room key.
There was crazy traffic on 95 on our way to the outer banks and it was really late. We got off at the nearest exit and got a room there through Kayak. The desk clerk said this was not true and got a little rude with my husband, for no particular reason but we just wanted a room, so we ignored it. The room was pretty clean and good enough to stay in for one night when we were tired. The towels were tiny and about as rough as 80 grit sandpaper. It's fine for a night, if you're really tired but wouldn't be my choice for anything beyond that. The price was cheap, which was good since we had already paid for our stay in OBX too.
helpfulness of staff no maid service and had to reset my room keys everyday
Staff was pleasant Break-in. Smelled like smoke despite being listed as smoke free. Peeling wallpaper. Shorting electronics in room. Loose fixtures in bathroom. Cheap TV. Poor breakfast.
It was an excellent visit and I will be coming back Nothing
The friendly and courteous staff.
Seemed like a hot night life, with tango instructions in the lobby bar. No kidding. Parking garage was gloomy
Great customer service from the staff. Very modern and hip place. The bed was hard and not very comfortable. The blankets are light. I you are used to a plush bed with a big down comforter, then this place is a disappointment.
Nothing The first room we had was filthy. The carpet and furniture were stained, the paint was chipping off everywhere, the ceilings were moldy, the paint looked like it was thrown on the walls and there was dust everywhere. After we changed rooms and tried to fall asleep we realized the walls were paper thin and heared the neighbors until 2 in the morning. Will never stay at A Loft again
Stayed here for the night ,after being tired from a long road trip back home to Philly. The pictures displayed on the website are not realistic ,our bed was very uncomfortable, the bathroom was unclean ,with a piece of the ceiling hanging down , the tub / shower was dirty. The room was very dated , this Super 8 needs a major renovation and overhaul The bathroom was unclean, shower / tub was dirty , outdated and uncomfortable bed.
T was modern and he bathroom was excellent The staff were terrible. They are in jeans and approaching you with no badges whilst they were drinking the coffee for the guests. I thought they were guests. We had to wait in like so they could get their coffee first. Very unprofessional.
The grounds of the hotel were very nice in appearance. The location is very close to shopping and dining. Staff was nice at check in. Room/bathroom was not clean, wall paper falling down in room, beds were very low to ground. Pool was freezing cold - used for 2 minutes and left as was not enjoyable at all.

The rooms are hi- tech with the largest screen TV I have ever seen in a hotel room. Great bed, shower and plug supply for charging.
The inside and outside was really nice! I loved the fact that I can watch Netflix and Hulu on TV (lol) The room was cozy and comfortable and I would definitely go back to stay again! The pool wasn't so clean, the mini fridge was too small, no microwave, the housekeeper wasn't so friendly and I never received my full $100 deposit back. Was short $31.
The hotel was nice and clean but the door would not open easily. Room 459 we had to literally shove the door to open it and if we did not push it hard enough it locked. So we had to use yhe key to unlock it again and then push it hard to open. Smh I did not care for the glass bathroom door. I could see the person inside. Not well but well enough. No real privacy and no lock on the bathroom door!
Price and rooms were spacious and updated Glass sliding 'barn door' used for bathroom door was a bad idea.
Cleanliness of the entire hotel and friendliness of the staff, parking was ample as well. No complaints here.
Good Value Noisy, we were by the elevator and could hear conversations in the hall throughout the night.

The room I was in was 5* worthy! The checkout could be noon, not 1pm
Have no words that's how satisfied . I hope when I choose to come back I get the same service and room ,I really loved it. None
