I had phoned from France to advise that we would be arriving late. The lady who took my call was very friendly and professional, and said that that would not be a problem. On our arrival at 10.30pm our welcome was very warm and friendly, and my 2 children (6 and 8) were made to feel at home. Service the next day was perfect: efficient, friendly and sincere. On hearing that we would be spending all day motoring, the manageress produced a packet of sweets for each of the children ("for the journey") unprompted and at no charge. Great location near the church and handy for a cobbled "tapas zone". Clean, friendly, quiet, comfortable this hotel is an absolute gem. Highly recommended. The only downside seemed to be the difficulty of finding a parking space nearby, but then we did arrive late at night.
We didn't like this hotel. Rooms were tiny, not very clean, very noisy and we heard all our neighbors. Hotel is very over priced. Cleanliness, location, noise
Very friendly and helpful receptionist; good location at edge of historic core; walking to port, beach, old city, restaurants. Room was on an airshaft and dark. Receptionist said other rooms were noisy due to plumbing.
The owner and staff were excellant, they could not do enough for you.they also speak English and french. It was so close to bars Restos and the beach Maybe a kettle in the room would be good for a cup of tea or coffee
Great Location near the action and right by the city of Getaria. Too much noise every night so we were not able to sleep well. The room was just too small for 2 people. Did not change the linenes often.
nice hotel and nice stuff it is expencive for what it offers
price--given summer season. A bit difficult to find.
Comfortable, clean, great prices, easy access to San Sebastian by car, train or bus. Hotel staff was very helpful. Was perfect for our little getaway. Beds were comfortable and the room had a flat screen tv with cable.
This hotel has no aircon. It is impossible to sleep without the windows open, and then it is impossible to sleep because of the traffic noise from the nearby highway. Avoid this hotel in summer.
5km far from Donostia, helpful and nice staff, huge room, free parking no air conditioning, soft pillows
The beds of the triple room were big, good quality/price
Quick to get to from the autoroute. Good stop off point if travelling through France to Spain.
We found the staff very helpful and friendly. We thought the restaurant prices a little expensive.
Very convenient to buses for San Sebastian. Good restaurant next door.
Clean with plenty of free parking and close to main road. A bit of a walk to the station, but still good access to San Sebastian. Nextdoor cafe does a good breakfast at around. Also close (15min walk) to restaurant Martin Berasatgui While the room was OK, I felt we were given the worse one on the floor through booking on line
The hotel was in the mountains, overlooking Mondragon. It had lovely views of the town and neighbouring mountains. The hotel was very modern inside, beautiful big rooms, great bar (with fantastic prices), and the evening meal was brilliant. Lots of countryside to explore, but sitting out on the terrace overlooking the town with a glass of wine was lovely. My two young girls enjoyed the playground also, and there was plenty of space to play. We were only there for one night, but could easily have stayed a week. Highly recommended. None whatsoever.
Lovely bright and clean rooms. Out of town so no noise from pubs etc Staff efficient friendly, restaurant good value.Great selections of essentials in the bathroom. Difficult to find even with gps bed a bit too hard for liking
The whole experience was simply great. Extremely enjoyable. Nothing
Excellent hotel and staff. Excellent value for money. We will go there again Breakfast Buffet was not too good. No eggs, bacon etc. and not enough pastry.
Wonderful surprise and the best of all the hotels booked through your service. No.
The hotel is obviously new and the decor is lovely and fresh. The rooms are very spacious, light and airy. There are lovely views and is in a quiet position. Although the staff don't speak english, they do have their restaurant menus in more than one language which was helpful - the food selection wasn't huge and was quite basic, but it was nice food. We booked this hotel as a stop off on a longer journey and our choice was based on the availability of private onsite parking. It is a bit of a pain to find and up steep hills (not good if you have a trailer!)
I wanted a hotel that would break up a long journey and this hotel was in the right place. The location is stunning, on the side of a mountain with great views, just outside the town of Mondragon which you need to drive through to get to the hotel. Could be difficult if you were using a map but the sat nav took me straight to the front door. The rooms are large and of a standard you would expect in a classy city centre hotel and have wifi or plug-in internet access. The bar is small and do snacks and although I didn't use the restaurant I was told it was a bit expensive. Breakfast is included but don't expect too much, if I had paid extra for it I would have been very disappointed. Good value for money at €50. Make sure you learn a little Spanish as the staff didn't speak any English on my two visits.
The location and ambience of this hotel was excellent. The dinner was great and staff excellent
Está bien, es lo que se espera en esta categoría.
Wonderfully welcoming staff. Gorgeous bathroom (weird comment, but it was great). Well, be warned, smoking is still acceptable all over Spain. It was pretty overwhelming in the dining room.
i liked the fact that everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable

The simpathy of the reception staff Absence of air conditionning is a serious cause of disconfort in hot periods due to the characteristics of the location ( deep narrow valley )
Location No air conditioning
The breakfast was nice, the hotel has good connections to/from Bilbao and other cities by public transport (bus connection is good, fast and cheap). The people in the hotel nearly don't speak/understand English which is not always easy as not everyone speaks/understands Spanish/Bask. The isolation of the rooms needs a big improvement (this was my second visit over here as my relatives live in this village) as you could still hear people in the room next to you, even if they talked silent...so when others are awake you are as well...
convienience to my work, clean, location to restaurants and bars poor parking, breakfast not replenished very well
Comfort, silent, value for money, location. Recently redecorated. Very good in any aspect
The room was clean and the breackfast was very good. The stuff was very friendly. My room had no air condition so it was very hot inside. It is almost impossible to sleep with open window because it was very noisy outside.
Good rooms Poor parking
the food was very good, the room new-ish and well appointed, bathroom and bed comfort excellent lack of staff on duty those that were ran round in circles as if no duty roster or organisation had been issued, excepting that they did not speak English they were civil and polite but lacked any professionalism
a cozy homestay with gorgeous and very helpfully staff, just like your family
Pleasant slleping accomadation Smoky bars and very hard to find sat nav could not pick up street
Good Place, quiet, room space. One of the shower doors mising
The view was amazing and the staff were very friendly
the hotel was a surprise as its position in a very narrow street gives an awkward first impression but inside it is a beauty. a combination of antique and modern give it a fresh and cozy look. rooms were excellent. then the view at the back is breath taking. the dining room and living room on second floor overlook the atlantic ocean and the greenery, typical of asturias in spain. well worth the stay, pity we could stay only one night. 2 star is a very low rating for this hotel, it deserves more.
amazing location, the sound of waves
The hotel staff were excellent and the seaside views from our room were unbelievable. The town seemed small with little to do at first but with a bit more exploring it was great. Walk to nearby Zaurutz and the Getaria wineries for outstanding views and great exercise.
Peaceful sea view with easy access to all restaurants. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Upgrade to sea view most important.
Fabulous view, great furnishing and carpets in public areas. Breakfast was excellent and all my questions wre answered perfectly in English which was very helpful. My only negative was I could hear every door bang and step on the stairs.
Very friendly and helpfull staff! beautiful rooms in a very nice little street of Getaria. In our room we could hear the hallway and the stairs quite loudly.
rooms were great. view was great. design was interesting. shower was second rate.horrible. charging for breakfast, especially when paying what we paid for a room, is unappreciated. the lack of nearby parking is not great and navigating that alley was not overly fun (but not huge issues). price-wise, it was also a bit expensive. the website made it seem like there was a restaurant onsite.
absolutely everything! More than friendly staff, perfectly clean rooms, ideal design, attention to details, breathtaking views, heaps of facilities, The best hotel i have ever stayed in! -----
Excellent sea views. bright and cheerful in a very charming old seaside fishing port village. Very helpfull staff. Highly recommended.
very nice clean room with view. extremely friendly hosts. Reasonable price none
the view, rooms and decor It would be nice if they provided lunch as it is a nice place to stay for a whole day
beautiful hotel, very friendly people, very nice surroundings. We enjoyed it very much!
Great place but expensive for what it is, well worth a stop though.
Nice hotel, nice rooms, nice position in front of the Sea. The owners of the hotel are very friendly and the woman is a first class cook!! Perfect for business and also for a romantic weekend... I will return there for sure!
Beautifully designed hotel with helpful, attentive staff and wonderful food. The location and views are really beautiful. Swimming pool and gardens are immaculate. A lovely place to relax or explore the northern spanish coast.
the location, the style of hotel rooms
visit the surrounding, perfect basis to visit Basque coast
Everything, starting with the hosts and finish with location.Highly recommend and I suggest to everyone who travel in the Basque country,to stop for one night in this hotel. They never regret.Positive 100%.Cristian from Toronto
Fantastic localization, with great sea view. Nice design hotel with very kind personnel. The restaurant was closed in the day we stayed there. not so big room for the expectations created by the photos.
Great personal service in this family-run rural location. Delicious home-made Basque cuisine served by the fireplace. Really enjoyed staying here for the surroundings and peace and quiet. Highly recommended - home from home.
We really appreciated the friendly and familiar behaviour of the staff, the food and the wine (sidra). Also the communication in english/spanish, even if not always excellent, was effective, nice and pleasing.
The staff were so friendly and helpful; nothing was a problem. My children just loved the animals and the explanation of the tradition of the fighting rams. We will stay here again.
Very friendly hospitality and excellent food. Perfect place for some rural quietness ánd perfect location to my business appointment just opposite the street (Guascor). For this combination of reasons I enjoyed Casa Rural Jesuskoa already for some 15 times over 8 years. It never disappointed me.
very good service, very helpfull, well speaking english. Our Our bed was too old/soft.
The family who own the hotel are very attentive and made you most welcome, the extended family of 'animals' were an interesting addition. The hotel is very typical of the region and comfortable, attic bedroom charming! and the evening meal was enjoyable and relaxed. I would return to this hotel!
Staff was very helpful on locating sites to visit. Free parking was available nearby on the street.
The rooms are comfortable. I didn't like the breakfast room. It is a bar in the basement and it is allowed to smoke. The included breakfast is only a coffee, a juice, and a pastry. Additionally, I had troubles with the WIFI.
The room was clean and the hotel is in a central location which is what I required. I have now been allocated the same room for the last two years as I require a singkle room, however you can not walk around the room easily as it is so small and the window opens in to the room ( Room 26)
I have been staying here for a number of years and always find it very welcoming, excellent location for beach and shopping, brilliant tapas and very good dinner menu
There was nothing to like about the ´Hotel´ apart from the town itself which was very nice This has to be classed as one of the worst ´Hotels´ we have ever stayed in, booking out could not have come sooner. The only good point about the ´hotel´ was it was close to the beach. The ´hotel´ (if you could call it that) was grubby, the reception had a lot to be desired, so we guessed what the room would be like. I have stayed in a 1 star hostel that was better than this place. There was doors banging all night, the room was like a shoe box- just grubby and very unwelcoming. The bathroom was just as unwelcoming to use, the shower grubby. The bathroom door had a gap of at least 6 inches at the bottom, so no privacy and the fan in the bathroom was so noisy that we could hear other folks using their bathroom during the night.
nothing really...central location but dead noisy! sheets were not clean (hairs...), the room was very small, the noise from outside and from the hotel (apparently not insulated) : a lot of doors banging until 3 in the morning. Then rooster waking up at 4:30...
Nice place A bit noisy
great location, good service
very good and nice hotel!
Clean & comfortable, dinner was very good value - an excellent meal everything included. Location right on a busy dual carriageway was very off-putting, but our fears were groundless as even in the dead of night all that could be heard was a faint hum of traffic. Breakfast pretty ordinary.
The staff were very kind and helpful - the value for money in the restaurant was excellent and the food was generally superb. The rooms are spacious and the free wi-fi made a real change from having to pay through the nose for this service, The free sauna/gym/jacuzzi were also a major plus point. Non-Spanish speaking travellers should be aware the staff spoke very little English and the people leaing the bar were very noisy on one night of my stay.
it was a overnight stay but we found the town bizzy with plenty of bars and coffee shops
The staff is very kind and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and is located in an amazing place. Excellent for a relaxing weekend.
Comfort and quality Somewhat pretentious - there was classical music at every meal, often unsuitable and intrusively loud and I received a lecture on English breakfast tea one morning which I did not require. Also the neighbours dog was a nuisance during the first night (barking).
Friendly family atmosphere - location
The quality of the hotel, the building, the staff, were all excellent. The food simple but good. It is many a year since we have checked out of an hotel with a fairwell kiss and a hug for both my wife and myself! We walked out of there giggling and full of joy! We had trouble finding the place but, that could just be us.My answer to theyes/no question about guest reviews is not accurate as I cannot remember what the reviews said but I guess good otherwise I wouldn't have stayed there.
Everything - hotel has wow factor. Staff very friendly and english spoken. Classy conversion of old iron foundry. Possibly needs better signposting
The property was beautiful. The Inn was very tastefully designed and the room was simple in an elegant, country way. Finding it was not so easy. We used mapquest in advance, as Booking.com's directions were useless.
The approach, the setting, the bar and restaurant everything was close to perfect. Sincerely interested and caring staff.
An amazing hotel. Cannot wait to get back.
Everything is wonderful, the hotel pictures on the web site are good but the real is much better. The hotel structure is incredibly beautiful and comfortable.
The surrounding area.
The evening meal was excellent. Room was spacious and clean. Comfy bed. Receptionist was very friendly and got up extra early for us to have breakfast. Most important though - our little dog was made welcome! On road parking - not secure parking.
Character of building. Space and cleanliness of room. It's really unfortunate that the lovely building is sandwiched between industrial warehouses and a highway, which makes it more like a motel rather than a mountain/countryside hotel. Luckily the windows seal quite well so there wasn't much noise from outside. However, the rooms and doors aren't very sound proof so you could hear cleaning upstairs or preparations for breakfast outside. The shower screen in our bathroom is in need of repair as it looks as though it could break off if not careful.
The value for money is great, very simple & modest but charming. The location at first looks a bit distant from Donostia but the village has its charm. It is very relaxing. The food is great (dinner & b-fast) and the staff is lovely. We really enjoyed the experience. If you are looking for something simple, calm & realaxing on the countryside of the Pais Vasco it is a great choice! The noise from the highway.
the staff were amazing
great bathroom, comfortable room rooms not ready upon arrival, even though arrived at 3.30pm
Spacious, comfortable and clean rooms. Welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast. The hotel was a bit tricky to find during the major road works nearby.
It was a very comfortable hotel and the staff (English speaking) were very helpful. A very interesting building in an unusual position! No
The staff in the hotel were very friendly and in the cafe/bar next door. Its proximity to San Sebastian and the building is really lovely. It was very clean and excellent value for money. Catch a bus into San Sebasitian it only cost 1.30 euros and a taxi back is only 18 euros so not bad, but look in the town for a couple of bards and restaurants. We were near the reception area and it was a little noisy in the morning when they started serving breakfast, but that is really nit picking.
The bedroom was huge and designed to be totally unique. Jose was extremely helpful and friendly. Ask him for a guided tour of the Cider Factory in the nearby mountains - scenery is spectacular!
Nice and helpful people. Fascinating building. The location of the hotel, behind a tall hedge with respect to the main road and on a rise above the access road allied to the very limited signage identifying the hotel, made locating it difficult. The GPS was not helpful.
Hotel is an aesthetic treat to the eyes, down to the smallest details. Looks like authentic castle, with all refined modern comfort. a. Difficulty in locating hotel, even with GPS, in a region where no soul is in sight at 7p.m. Suggest adding a few road signs. b. If anything, hotel is a little over manicured and tidy. Every single leaf is in place. A beautiful museum room is not the place where you like to plump down and read.
Amazing breakfast, lovely rooms and fantastic staff
It was amazingly designed, you could tell that whoever designed it knew what they were doing. A nice mix of modern and antique design + nice landscaping. I paid 109Euros and felt like it was worth every penny. Nothing.
This is a very special place. The owners/innkeepers are wonderful and they run a fabulous inn near San Sabastian/Donestia. Every detail is well thought out to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. nothing
a stunning and relaxing place to stay. friendly staff and lovely food. liked everything - but it was a bit hard to find.
Good atmosphere. Comfortable and beautiful room. Very good staff service. Beautiful building, landscape and garden. Breakfast buffet very aceptable. Recommended Hotel for relax
The hotel had beautiful artwork and elegant surroundings, a wonderful combination of the old and new. We also enjoyed the quiet countryside. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was great.
Beautifully restored hotel with very nice furniture located outside a small village not too far from Pyrenees and San Sebastian. Rooms are very comfortable and hotel is quiet. Very helpfull staff which speaks good English (and one person even Dutch). The restaurant serves a limited menu with items which are below what you expect in such a hotel. The rooms are around 10-20% overpriced compared to likewise hotels we stayed.
