The hotel has an amazing view. The room was fairly clean, and the showers were awesome. There was a fee for self-parking, which is very annoying. It wasn't much, but it always rubs me the wrong way when the first thing a hotel does upon arrival is tack on a fee while checking you in. The parking is fine, though there are separate elevators for the parking structure and the hotel, which isn't made apparent. The location is ideal for a view, but is not the best if you don't have a vehicle. The shuttle is annoyingly timed, and it's way too far to walk to town, so you pretty much need a car. Also, the proximity to the gondola meant that while entering or leaving the hotel, you had a wait on traffic coming/going from the gondola. ** If you are going for the view, this is the place to stay. If you are hoping to enjoy down town, get a hotel closer. Having to drive and park in town for every meal became annoying quickly. It would have been great to be able to walk into town and not be stuck in traffic for 10-20 minutes each time we wanted to go somewhere.
The hotel is comfortable, luxurious and splendid! The food was wonderful, the room was comfortable and the hotel facilities are gorgeous. Our banquet staff at the event we were attending were poorly trained. The bartenders could barely make a drink and the waitstaff were hopeless.
location was awesome! excellent service and friendly staff at Larkspur lounge. Multiple dining options. Liked it all! Nothing to complain.
Staff and views are superb. I highly recommend this resort for skiers. Nothing!

Banff View was blocked - Parking not included
I was stressed about Rimrock vs, the Fairmont...the Rimrock was fine. Much smaller than the huge Fairmont, easy to get to, but both are farther out of the small town of Banff. We had a car, so getting into Banff was super easy. From the Rimrock we walked up to the Gondola (didn't ride it--$40 per person is a bit pricey!), and we only stayed one night, so we did enjoy the Rimrock overall very much.
Room was clean. Staff is great. The restaurant eden inside the resort is terrible. Almost ruined my evening we left after 2 course I think we paid for 4 never will I go back to that restaurant
While all the other hotels in the area are in the busy tourist part of town The Rimrock is located up the mountain near the hot springs and gondola. Very clean, great views, friendly door men and front desk employees. I was surprised that wifi was offered because of the hotel's location, the wifi never worked for myself or my mom. We contacted the guest service number and they were unable to do anything about it nor willing to offer help. (Like I said I understand since the hotel is literally on the side of a mountain.) I was hoping for a quite relaxing night in the hot pool and sauna yet there was some very loud children and the atmosphere at the facilities was not as luxurious as I'd hope for. (I love kids, I'm a nanny but when on vacation at a 4-5 star hotel I would have liked some peace at that time at night.)
Good friendly staff. Liked they exchanged USD to CAD with no fees. Great views of the area. Free bus to Banff. Rooms too dark, especially in bathroom for women to put on make up. Didn't exchange CAD back to USD. Fee for parking.
Internet wifi didn't work at all in the rooms
Beautiful hotel, great location. Upgraded to an executive suite for minimal charge - great decision. Room was on the top floor, nice view, very comfortable. We didn't want to leave. All staff was very friendly, especially Cleo and Travis who helped us on day one.
Our stay was only one night, so it is hard to evaluate. During the short time however, we found the resort to be comfortable and very accomodating for our family. Staff was helpful and set up our rooms as requested with items such as playpens and highchairs. We found the kitchen was lacking in pots/pans and dishes.
quiet, peaceful television sets at least 15 to 20 years old.
It was nicely designed and I liked the appearance. Unfortunately it is situated high above Banff and consequently the train horn can be heard very clearly. Goods train pass through Banff and the train driver sounds the horn each time he approaches the level crossing. The sounds consisted of two long and one short horn sound. This went on every 2 hours commencing at 10pm and did not finish till after 6am. Uninterrupted sleep was a luxury at this Resort.
Very roomy suite with a kitchen and fireplace. Everything in the kitchen was functional. Room is modern and seems recently renovated. As it's a bit out of Banff town the area is peaceful and quiet It's a 20min walk from Banff town, therefore a bit of an inconvenience if you don't have a car. Room was usually very hot and stuffy and there's no AC (but there is a fan). Reception staff were nice but not overly helpful.
Very spacious room with heated floors, king bed and a big jet tub made for a great place to kick back after a day of skiiing. Fire place didn't work.
it was amazing the wildlife that just walks around. also the beds were really comfortable
The room was very comfortable. Natural fireplace, full kitchen, wonderful view of the mountains. Free reliable wireless.
The room was very clean and comfortable to be in, the view from the deck is great. What i found very different that the tile floor as you go into the room was heated very nice if you have cold feet. I very much enjoyed my stay at Tunnel Mountian Resort. Wil stay again.
The loft suite was great, considering we had two children with us. The kitchenette was very convenient; the fireplace was a wonderful surprise! The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Unfortunately, I noticed several stains on the bedding, and the floors seemed somewhat dirty as well.
The layout, the wood fires, all the atmosphere was awesome. No matter what you provide, the key to a great place to stay is a good bed. Ours was so hard it made the fold-out futon in the living room area look like a desirable option. The bed was rock hard and felt like laying on cardboard. Killed the whole stay for us and wont be back as a result.
the peace and quiet and the family atmosphere. The big barf stain outside the door on the walkway.
As always, the location. I have stayed at tunnel mountain numerous times for the last 20+ years, in fact we normally splt our time between your resort and Hidden Ridge. It has been about three years since we stayed last and I was very disappointed. We like to barbeque and they are so far beyond replacing they are very dangerous and filthy. The tap in the washroom spun around completely, the furnace sounded like an airport and the thermostat did not work properly, basic utencils required for eating were missing, the TV in the bedroom did not work and the remote was missing, the fridge temperature was set on 3 out of 10 yet still froze items. Bottom line is Tunnel Mountain has detiorated substantially in quality and clearly needs some capital spent on improvement
