Clean Room , convenient location for my business requirements
The rooms were comfortable The food was not cheap and the bar was expensive for the area. Breakfast was also expensive.
My wife and I were visiting our relatives in Dodworth and so your Hotel was very convenient. The breakfast buffet selection was excellent. 1.--Regretably, there was insufficent staff on duty in the dining room for Sunday breakfast as there were a large number of wedding guests who stayed overnight. This did cause a slight hiatus.--2.Our room 211,appeared to have thin walls as we could hear our neighbours (a family) in 212.They were not excessively noisy either.
Wifi is poor at best. I would rather pay for Internet access and have a decent connection
Value for money, access to the spa. Too noisy, with noise coming up from a private function and then noise from the next door room and corridors. No place in the communal areas for children (play room or just a safe area).
Friendly staff, superb room, easy access and parking
Nice room interior and country location Floor boards overhead very noisy when people moved around in the room above sufficiently so to wake you up, noisy loud guests or even owners/staff I am not sure who returning past midnight making a lot of noise in the corridors and then walking about a lot upstairs creaking the really noisy floors.
good clean, stylish hotel. very good restaurant. lovely staff.
Blakes bar was very nice and it was good to have use of the pool next door and towels supplied. not really no.
24 hour service available, friendliness of staff
Told to check in at 3pm - no rooms available till 5.30pm - late fr our planned function.
The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and there was enough tea and coffee for more than one drink.
The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The walls in the hotel are very thin, while staying there my partner and I could hear everything that was going on in the room next to ours, including business phone calls at 4 am.
Hotel was clean and local to town centre Room was small
The complimentary wine, chocs, bath robes and slippers. Plus the gym facilities were amazing and the pool was lovely and warm. I felt very spoilt! The bar was very expensive! £13 for one glass of white wine!!!! The barman didn't tell us when we ordered, we just asked for a glass of white wine and then came the bill....Arggh felt a bit decieved: There were glasses on the wine menu cheaper than the one he offered.
the hotel staff were particularly helpful but wouldnt like to single anyone specifically. As I have only recently become a Hilton Honours member I will certainly be looking to use Hilton again with such efficient and welcoming staff. nothing particularly although the bathrooms would benefit from refurbishment with some mould and wear around the bath.
Friendly, professional and good value for money The price of a bottle of water. Can get a full breakfast with toast and tea in London for less!
The staff were excellent, helpful and curtious. especialy a young man who dealt with us on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th July 2008. Well done. the bathroom in the room was fairly basic for such a hotel. the curtains in the room were detached from the rod which is used to close them, the safety lock on the windows was broken and the window can be fully opened.
The starter for the meal I had there was original and exceptionally tasty no
The beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and staff was very friendly the bathroom needed refurbishing!!!
Good breakfast, very modern hotel No air conditioning, bed very small ,trains very noisy
Value for money
Friendly atmosphere and staff. Located handily for both Barnsley centre and South Yorkshire countryside Everything was fine
Modern building & decor, rooms clean and comfortable. Superb self service/buffet breakfast, plenty of choice, cereals, fruit, pastries, full English, teas, coffees etc (good quality produce/products) Rooms too hot!!
very enjoyable stay.Comparers very favourable with competitors. nothing.
Veryclean breakfast very good every thing there you could wish for No bad points
it was ideal location for barnsley town and the toby carvery was next door
breakfast was good carpet would of been nice
V.Clean, facilities in good working order, good breakfast. Nothing!
Very nice and modern. I will stay at another Ramada Hotel next year. None
Good staff, nice hotel, fine location -
Work has started on building a 32 storey tower block next to the hotel. Rooms overlooking the building site are extremely noisy.
Being In the town centre
Good location, room and food! Wish there was a jacuzzi there!!
The location, staff and size of room The rooms were too hot
the hotel the centre of the city evry thing is good
central location It was extremely noisey!
Lovely spacious room, warm, Flat screen TV staff lovely and friendly
We booked a suite but only got a room because they had over booked so was very disappointed about that
Free wi-fi, friendly staff, good prices, good breakfast. It was clean and everything worked.
The Staff were very friendly and the room was excellent for size and comfort The resteraunt attached to the hotel had very below average food so the evening meal and breakfast was very poor
rooms were very clean and good value for money. Food in restaurant was good and entertainment in the bar was great. Staff very friendly Slight musty smell from bathroom
Room was clean and nicely set out, friendly staff both on reception & in the bar area. nothing
location and pub attached nothing
The ease of use, stayin as a Wedding Guest
The reception staff were consistently helpful and the location was very convenient. The booking system utterly failed to synchronise with the hotel, I had four separate bookings over four weeks, when I had to postpone these before I attended the system was unwieldy and in effective. Then when it came to checking in my details were never to hand and always had to be searched out. I only finally managed to cancel a spurious booking once I was at the hotel. Excellent staff, dreadful booking system. As such I would not presently recommend the hotel because of the booking system and it's lack of synchonisation with the hotel.
Not very busy No hairdryer in room
Cleaniness of the room. There was an issue with some of the services in my room. However, i was moved to another room where everything was more than acceptable. For the price of the rooms, a wider selction of TV could be available rather than just freeview channels i.e; sky or cable
The room was very clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and polite and I had a most enjoyable breakfast great poached eggs! I didn't enjoy the evening meal that I ordered expected fresh veg and not frozen.
Overall, were impressed by hotel facilities and staff,as well as standard of food Were unable to take lunch when we arrived at 12pm ,and were directed to a Sainsburys cafe one mile away by a staff member - not blaming girl at reception who was very pleasant and apologetic, but surely lunch at lunchtime,in a hotel is `par for the course?`
the staff were friendly and welcoming and also the rooms were of a excellent standard i would definatelly stop there again.
Hnady for the motorway, clean and well presented.
type of room for the amount of money
No complaints at all None
Easy to reach from M1, good location for Wakefield. Very well appointed room and bathroom, very clean. Seemed short staffed at reception during early evening. Had to wait to check in.
the staff were extremely helpful
We have stayed at this hotel before so we knew what to expect. As before the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the service excellent. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is very good and the meals, breakfast and dinner, were very good. Nothing is perfect but we had no complaints or dislikes.
cleanliness & helpfullness of staff
Smart, clean, good value, well placed
Nice and clean, comfortable room with friendly staff. The bar prices. Wow! Must be part-owned by Ryanair.
All round, excellent
The rooms are lovely, staff friendly and helpful, and it was just a really great place to stay. I couldn't sleep because people were so noisy in the corridors! The guys I was travelling with also had this problem. I think it'd be helpful if we could have called reception to get something done about this, as I felt bad for asking the people to keep it down - but it was going on from 2 to 4 in the morning! This noise happened on all 3 nights that I stayed.
The aircon worked (it often doesnt); the bed was comfy and the room clean and big.
Please write at least 15 words
Good location ad view from window.
Pleasant, spacious comfortable room. Convenient for ciry centre and only a £7 taxi ride from the Sheffield arena. Nice bar area. Good breakfast.
the privacy from the staff and the location was great th waiting around at reception beiong a bit slow
Convenient city centre hotel primarily a business hotel but no worse for that.
Well maintained, everything worked properly, especially the bath and shower. Very quiet, good night's sleep. Nothing.
Using the gym free of charge
free pass for greens gym
nice breakfast and friendly staff very peaceful
The welcome at reception was very pleasing and also during dinner. I was very disappointed that the 'buffet' was not included with the choice of main course - should be taken off the menu as this was misleading. Unfortunately we were allocated a room next to the generators which were quite audible during the night.
Wi-Fi connection, relaxed atmoshere.
Breakfast was very nice and bed was comfortable only one socket in rooms and i ordered chicken goujons one evening and they were frozen in the middle had to give them back no appology was given or refund ..also they ran out of budweiser beer during our stay, and on the sun night there was boy racers outside for a few hours racing no police were called they were very noisy my mum couldn't sleep till after 11 she was in bed at 8 she was not well
Excellent value for money. Very friendly staff. Restaurant only had a few options available and was poor.
the duputy managers Timothy and Stpehanie were just so friendly, organised and made my stay very relaxing. the rest of the staff were all friendly and is it ovious that they enjoy working there.
The room we had was quiet
The staff at breakfast were just wonderful! If only every hotel that we chose to stay at had such lovely couteous people employed - they are a real credit to you!
could not complain about anything, except we didn't have time too make use of the spa a nd swiming pool, but maybe next time. none
staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and well priced. It was comfortable. Excellent swimming pool/spa facilities.a very pleasant stay.
Location & authenticity of hotel With the exception of breakfast the food was awful. Tasteless, too much salt, vegetables were either almost raw or overcooked as well as very poor value for money.
A very nice hotel in deed The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. I only staid for one night but I'll chose it again when I travel up there to visit my costumers.
Location - access available direct from the hotel to a network of footpaths. Swimming pool Restaurant was rather expensive, and the bar menu a bit limited
the pool was great - pool staff were also helpful.
Hotel Bedroom was very comfortable Restaurant being closed on Sundays and having to eat in bar from a pub style menu. Food not particularly good and steaks not cooked as requested.
the room was lovely and our stay was the only thing was there was alot of special offers including the 2 treatments , evening meal ,bed and breakfast for £109 and we didnt know about it one of the guests informed us as they had booked it . we will definately be booking again .
Excellent facilities and helpful, friendly staff.
It was overall a good experience! Am not so sure if it will be helpful if the parking rules at NCP can be made more relaxed for the hotel guests or even as they are explained more fully to the guests on arrival! Other than that pretty good hotel!
My daughter would say the breakfast, I would say it suited us exactly for what we needed, to be within walking distance of the O2 arena in comfort, Thank you
The friendly reception staff
The size and cleanliness of the bedrooms The number of times needed to swipe the key card when trying to open the bedroom door
The staff were nicem friendly and helpful! The room was also very nice!
staff were very welcoming and helpful
the price of the rooms wich includes breakfast and the restaurant was very good the whole weekends entertainment which is why we stayed in shefield
the staff were lovely, and the bar food was lovely...at 1st u thing its expensive but the quality and portion size is well worth it...i had the chicken, bacon salad...was lovely even had croutons in it...wud defo stay again...
Helpful staff Getting a little tired now - it needs a lick of paint here and there to bring it back to it's previous economical designer chic look
easy access to city centre N?A
The staff were efficient and friendly. The breakfast was well presented, hot and tasty. At about 3 am there was a loud humming noise that carried on until about 9 am, this did keep us awake, also the room was on the cold side and it was only in the morning when we opened the curtains that we found the radiators would have been better with out the noise and if we knew where the heating was.
The price was good. For the most part it was very quiet, even with a wedding party on the Saturday night. Close to where we wanted to be. There was one door, somewhere nearby, that boomed when it closed. This only happened on Friday morning, but it started at 0530. Scared us to bits. Thankfully it didn't get used again after 0730 on the Friday, or for the rest of the weekend. The hotel staff told us it was a fire door. Ok... Do something about it.
the hotel did not have my reservation and even though i provided a copy of the email confirmation from booking.com they did not have anything on the system. We had to leave a credit card detail as they were stating we had not paid even though this is incorrect. We were very disappointed with booking.
Reasonable value for the accommodation. There was a lack of service at breakfast. Sadly self service is the norm these days but it still needs some support from staff otherwise it turns into school dinners. Although not used the television was of a low quality.
The first room I had been given had not been cleaned in anyway, not a good thing to arrive at after a long journey
Very friendly and the breakfast was excelent The bed was to soft you ended up in the middle which made it uncomfortable. The car park was like a skating rink
It had everything I needed in one room, speciality teas were readily available and extra essentiala were free if needed Price of alcohol. I would have spent more if prices were fair.
Bed and pillow offer good + web connectivity
Very clean, modern hotel with good links to the m1
Abel to order room service, which I needed after a long journey up to Wakefield
Staff everywhere could not do enough for me, they looked as though they enjoyed working there. The professionalism and customer service was of a very high standard and the room was very comfortable and spotless. The location was ideal, just a short walk from the Train station and right in the heart of the city centre. No complaints
The design and materials used on the ground floor and its juxtapostion to the winter gardens are spectacular and an absolute treat to sit in the champagne bar, particularly at night time with the dramatic lighting effects. The view from my room on to the Peace Gardens was stunning. Reason for choice was availability in the price range I was willing to pay. Having stayed at this hotel I am likely to make it my first choice for future stays in Sheffield. Not enough time to enjoy the spa facilities. The room rate we had obtained was excellent but the breakfast rate was not displayed anywhere we could easily find, we had to enquire at reception. Breakfast was overpriced compared to comparable alternatives available in the city centre.
Comfortable, friendly staff Little things - such as not enough milk provided with tea/coffee making facilities - for 2 people - in the bedrooms; insufficient toiletries provided - although we had our own
It was quiet - could not hear doors banging, people talking in corridors, people banging around upstairs - it is the first time I have experienced such soundproofing and it was most welcome.
The view overlooking the peace gardens were stunning, location is perfect. Too open plan, no definative line between the 2 restaurants, the bar staff were not very accommodating and it took 15 minutes to get a drink.
Room next to the lift (203 I think), meant that I had a slepless night which noise throughout the night. Room service was incorrect, asked for Clun sandwich to exclude avocado paste but arrived with. Asked for the 'soft package' for the mini bar (3 cokes, pringles & kitkat), only the beverages arrived and they were charged as full on my bill at a higher price than the package offer excluding the two items. Overall attention to detail was poor.
location staff was a bit scornful
Size and comfort of rooms and the simple but quality food served in the restaurant.
The beds were extremely hard.
The calm welcoming atmosphere.
the comfortable beds
Attention from reception and restaurant staff.
Reception staff very helpful Bar drinks very expensive
quiet, relaxing ambience bar tariffs too high (but probably no different to other hotels of the same rating)
It was quiet and had a relaxed atmosphere
Good menus and restaurant service plus pleasant room Nothing
noisy wedding reception late at night
The room was spacious & very clean. It is in a good location close to the road network and close enough to the town centre.
Free drink at the bar for signing up to the loyalty scheme The room. It was very dated and the bathroom had a damp smell in it. A nice entrance to the hotel clearly showing money has been spent on the place, time though to update the rooms. Breakfast didn't have much choice for vegetarians, other hotels offer vegetarian sausages.
It was extremely basic. Ate in restaurant one evening and the food was very good Supposed to be an exec room but it was very small. Had to pay for wi fi.
Friendly and cheerful staff.
food dining room and bedroom were not adequately heated for the time of year
Great location for where we needed to be. Very helpful staff on check in and for things we needed during the stay.
Staff frindly and customer focused
Helpfulness of staff, availability of parking. Facilities basic but could have paid more elsewhere and not got any better. Not advised that hairdryer, iron etc no longer available in rooms as so many had been stolen!
Quiet location and friendly service
Too far away from civilisation!
Friendly staff and good food
Very good value for money. The man on reception was very helpfull, and the room was clean and comfortable. I would definately stay there again. A little out of the way on an industrial estate, but I think that is reflected in the price.
Has wireless Internet access from bar/resteraunt rooms at front suffer from traffic noise (hotel is next to M18)
Room was cold. Also we were given a room without a bath.
Comfortable beds Food Portions
Excellent rooms and location card machine didn't accept visa electron and doesn't have a cash machine
The staff were extremely helpful. The building was very impressive.
all the staff and the food where very good.they made us all very welcome
Efficient and friendly staff
Disabled bedroom/bathroom facilities excellent, very grateful for that. Cleanliness was excellent, too. The waitress in charge of the breakfast dining room was superb - friendly, helpful, and smiled when talking to you. Very good, the best employee we came across. Lack of customer-needs awareness in which additional training was indicated.
hotel layout,accommodation,parking. Disorganised,breakfast a Faulty Towers experience
The room was nice Staff where not on the ball at all could have stood at the bar for half an hour with staff walking past and noone would come to serve you.
The bar is very nice The pressure to go into the bar before and after your meal
nice bar; pleasant staff; pleasant rooms; nice food lumpy pillow
Location. The hotel needs a lot of updating and a freshen up as it looks very tired!
we were made very welcom as soon as we entered the place the freindly service and wonderfull staff
Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Rooms where ok and clean, although you couldn't hear the motorway with the windows closed you were always aware it was there. Nothing in particular except if it had been summer and you wanted a window open then the noise of the motorway
felt at ease as a lone traveller. My room was at the top in the corner and the windows did not open at all which felt a bit clostraphobic and unsafe. All of the services eg.room service was not displayed in my room.
Convenient for the occasion we had to attend Unfortunate about the noise from the adjacent motorway. No lift to rooms. Not able to have dinner there on Monday evening
Friendly staff, although a bit quite on a Sunday evening. Nothing
Ease of access from motorway. Price
it was ok friendly staff heating and the loss of power on the last night of my stay
Allows dogs. Very Friendly staff. Ideal location for my purposes. By 7.30pm the only food in service station was KFC or Burger King
Nice, warm comfortable room , with plenty of space for a cot and refreshments avaialble if required. Free newspaper was nice too. Shame that you can't drive from hotel t service area and the walk to service area is a bit precarious and not well marked out - especially if you have kids or a buggy
The Staff were very good My room was freezing cold when I arrived. No heating on.
Room was clean and comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast tray was on time and had everything one would want. I have stayed here before and the only negative I can think of is that it is a bit confusing to gain access to the hotel if travelling northbound as you have to use a couple of link roads that bring you to the south side of the motorway and then you have to go against the traffic to get into the car park.
Clean, spacious, comfortable, easy to find, easy to access, easy to park, value for money. Attentive, competent, friendly staff on arrival ( Michelle ) Soap dispensers not too good, hell of a job getting anything out of them.
quiet and peacefull no bar
easy to find and staff were helpful. Rooms had all that was required The breakfast (in the services building) was not convenient to get to and was poor quality, not at all value for money
No access to services by car. You are directed back onto Mway
Good sized room and very clean and tidy
we were late booking in, and there was no fuss about this, also check out was 11-00!! none apply
the efficiency of the staff dealing with queries we had.
Staff were quick to respond to a problem with one room and with the problem of noisy guests Conference guests behaviour and noise
With one exception the hotel met our expectation (see below). The gardens were exceptional. The dining room initially offered only a 3 course meal menu which was said to be the Sunday evening policy. However, on complaining, a la carte was offered, which was satisfactory
nice place and sirroundings staff friendly cigarette smoke coming from the room connected to ours
My stay was limited in time arriving late on Wednesday evening and leaving early on the Thursday. The hotel however has good leisure offering which is something I always look for in a hotel, my only regret is that time did not allow me to use the facilities.
staff very helpful.
Lovely grounds very obliging staff Food in restaurant expensive and poor quality
Spacious room and good breakfast. Ideal for overnight stop over for the city. Small bed for a double room, flaking paint on the ceiling and no air con.
we stopped two nights and there was no heating in the bedrooms so the staff had to go out and buy some heaters
The large bed Evening reception staff was rude and unhelpful
