This was not the standard of hotel I remember it having changed hands. Room damp, cornice hanging off wall, mold on carpet and curtains, bed not made, shower faulty and flooding bathroom, waited 30 mins standing to be sat for breakfast.
the location, breakfast was good.the room was comfy and the hotel had character..plan to return soon
The location, right on the river at Chollerford. The friendly staff, both on reception and in the restaurant. The lady who served us at breakfast was a gem, nothing was too much trouble. More milk should be provided on the hospitality tray
Friendliness of staff Lack of organisation and tired decor.
lovely large room, ideal location next to the river, lovely swimming pool We slept very badly. The radiator was making horrendous noises in the night. On the second night, we had to move to another room at midnight, as the noise was so bad. The manager sorted this out for use most kindly. But it totally spoiled our stay. And for £130 per night we were extremely disappointed, and will never stay there again. This was a high price hotel, and you expect to get e decent night's sleep. I had to sleep with earplugs in on the first night. appalling.
well, the fact we only paid fifteen quid each for dinner, bed and breakfast comes pretty high up the list. that and the location. perfect for the roman wall.
It is ideal for a visit to Hadrians Wall and the sites associated with the wall. The staff were attentive and trying to please Decor a bit tired in places
Location Some parts looked dated.
Dinner was excellent breakfast was dried up
the friendliness of the staff and their efiiciency could do with a lick of paint
The food, the size of the bedroom and the attentiveness of staff
Stunning hotel, took our breath away when we saw it! Beautiful garden area with peacocks - lovely setting. Close to where we were visiting. Dinner was superb, and perfect breakfast with lots of choice. Room comfortable and grand. None.
The room, the ambience, the location Climbing the stairs to the top floor
We really enjoyed our stay at Langley Castle Hotel - we stayed here for one night en route to Scotland. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxing and a great start to our holiday. The food in Josephine's restaurant was excellent and the venue is steeped in history.
The ambiance of a medieval castle and well motivated local staff. No guest lift to rooms at top of castle.
We liked everything. The friendly staff, understated luxury and great food. This is a castle, so dont expect to find gyms or spa etc. But if your after an experience to take you back to the 1400's then it is fantastic none. Only thing that some might not like is the staircase. It is a castle after all so if you dont like stairs then suggest that you book a castle view room
The Castle and its setting is perfect. the interior also has a wonderful atmosphere and our bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Our bedroom was special but we could have done with more lighting
The atmosphere, luxury, the food, the company we were with. The room design, the feeling of being in a special place. Cannot fault anytyhing. Loved the peacocks. The views were stunning. Wish my drink had come somewhere near same time as my scone and clotted cream.
We enjoyed our stay and would return. One or 2 things could have been improved upon but they were not important.
A friendly welcome and continuing pleasant atmosphere. The staff never failed to acknowledge us in the same friendly way. The room price excess for a weekend night. This only showed on the confirmation e-mail.
Clean, comfortable, quiet room; excellent dinner and breakfast; hospitality. Some restaurant/bar personnel are inexperienced and/or poorly trained
Great food Friendly staff Fantastic location- a real get away Good quality accommadation
Very clean hotel, great bathroom and very warm. All staff were very friendly, the menu and food were excellent. No bad points, but we did find the bed a bit small!! We are not big people!

Room 9 ventilation system was noisey
The setting was superb, the facilities tasteful and the owners most pleasant, without being intrusive.
This must be one of the nicest b n b's we have stayed in - we would reccommend it to anyone and intend to stay there again
Very comfortable. Clean and of a high standard. All the little 'extras' were there, including a bathrobe. Hostess very helpful and friendly. Lovely location
Booking, correspondence, stay and everything about the place was excellent, and the view from the room was incredible. I really can't come up with a single bad thing about this place.
Everything, It was a wonderful place, wonderful location, fantastic friendly people, and gorgeous rooms. Couldn't believe it was so nice for so little moeny. Nothing, there were literally no problems at all staying here.
Wonderful views from a perfectly appointed bedroom. The bedroom was comfortable and tastefully furnished with delightful en-suite facilities. We were asked to select our breakfast the evening before which ensured that we were served promptly with an excellent, beautifully cooked breakfast the next morning. Local preserves and fresh fruit were also available.
lovely friendly welcome and gorgeous room nothing at all
