Pros: Breakfast was great, varied and fresh. For the price, it's an excellent stay if all you're looking for is staying the night and going to Manhattan all day long. The subway station is a block away and, while the neighborhood might be somewhat sketchy, we never had any issues coming back late at night. The staff was great, specially Stephanie, and the rooms were clean and beds were comfy.
Cons: The only "bad" thing I'd say about the place is that if you're driving in, it will cost you $25 dollars a day to keep your car parked there, but that's a cheap alternative to parking in NYC.
Pros: Great location and friendly staff
Cons: The room was very small, request where not granted even after being promised and breakfast was too early.
Cons: Parking too expensive
Pros: I found the rooms clean with comfortable beds, and furniture attractive and in good condition.
I found the rooms were quiet. I was concerned noise would be an issue since I was adjacent to the exit door and across from the breakfast room. I did hear the door close and open but the sound was fairly unintrusive.
Cons: Some confusion re: the room cost. This might have been a KAYAK issue, but it was fairly easily remedied, and the person at the desk was apologetic and professional.
Parking could have been difficult (I was VERY lucky to get a spot right outside the front door), but that is to be expected in NYC. If I hadn't gotten the spot, I would have been charged an extra $25 (per day? per stay?), a fee I was unprepared for.
Pros: close to metro station. Nice breakfeast. Nice staff on restaurant and room maid.
Cons: don't take private taxi from hotel. US$40 flat to go JFK. Front desk said yellow cab will cost more than 50!!! Not good information, despite driver was friendly.

Pros: The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff were very accommodating with regards to late checkout.
Pros: Good location, clean room, active bar scene.
Cons: No AIR CONDITIONING:with the star level and price of the hotel, you would think they could afford both air and heat as you choose.Privacy sign on door was not respected.
Pros: The rooms were so clean. The beds so comfortable. The valet and dining room staff delightful and so accommodating. The dining room food was excellent.
Cons: The rooms on one side of the hotel abut the LIRR tracks. If you are a light sleeper this could be a problem.
Pros: Clean and nice people
Pros: The location
Cons: no self parking. water leaked from vent in shower. toilet paper holder needed to be tightened. Beds were short.

Pros: The pool and spa area was old, but served its purpose. Great breakfast dining area, but the buffet area was so packed in the morning, I couldn't squeeze in just to grab a scone.
Cons: Super loud. They put our family of 3 (with a 3 yr old) directly across the hall from some sort of male adult gathering. Doors closing/slamming all night. Someone knocked on our door in the middle of the night and woke me up. Way too much activity - the staff never should have put us on the same floor and in the same vicinity as the group on our end of the hall.
Pros: We were given a smoke room although when we on line checked in the night before and specified the arriving time. Not again stay there.
Cons: We were given a smoke room although when we on line checked in the night before and specified the arriving time. Not again stay there.
Pros: Quiet, they picked me up at rental car location, clean, nice stagf
Cons: Nothing, liked it all
Pros: Friendly staff;helpful.
Pros: The bed was huge and everything appeared to be spotless. All the staff members were very professional.
Cons: This isn't really the hotel's fault, but the shuttle was MIA. Make sure to call from the airport when looking for transport. This was a pretty bad time for the weather so it may not be a problem normally.

Pros: I like this hotel usually. It's easy to park if I'm driving in on business. The staff is great. The hotel is clean and overall a good place for the money. This time was different and I wasn't happy.
Cons: The room they put me in was right off the elevator on the 9th floor. It was awkward and uncomfortable to get in. I could've overlooked it all if not for the noise. The noise was terrible it kept me awake all night. There were people down the hall i'm certain they were smoking pot. The smell drifted into my room, it was Skunky. I set the temperature at 70, it kept feeling stuffy so I lowered it. I had it at 67 in when I woke up it was at 77. I felt sick and groggy All day. There was no override button or set button to hold the temperature. I felt awful when I woke up, but futzing around with the temperature to see what the problem is. It again kept rising on me also.
Yesterday was a very important day for my small business. I chose your hotel to stay in because of its convenience, and my expectations from past experience. I am incredibly disappointed and feel it's important for you to know that you ruined my entire morning. I felt sick and groggy, and had a terrible migraine, all morning. I don't think that I was be staying at your hotel anymore.
Pros: The room was clean.
Cons: They didn't have a pool.
It was suppose to be a nonsmoking hotel but I smelled stale smoke
Pros: The staff was friendly
Cons: The smell of the room was horrible. I carry with febreeze so that helped with the smell. The sheets were stained with wine, and foot prints. The hot water wasn't working, and the room temp only went as high as 69 degrees. My husband and I live in Florida so for us 69 degrees is equivalent to winter. Other than that the room served its purpose.
Pros: Was clean.
Cons: Bed was uncomfortable, ice machine broken. Front desk person was extremely short with me. Brazilian restaurant on ground floor was TERRIBLE and expensive.
Pros: Very nice staff. Want to please and are very friendly.
Excellent housekeeping too.
Pros: Not long away from metro station
Cons: Moré speed and beatería stability for wifi
Pros: great view, although away from the major city. Q line takes you right into the city within 30 mins. very cheap for a one day trip !!!
Cons: morning noise although we were on the 14th floor. but over all good stay.

Cons: Housekeeping is spoty. We were there for a week and they did not clean once his room!
Our brand new ultramodern 168 Hyatt Place is built atop three-glass levels of world class retail shopping a variety of ethnic and American restaurants. A separate office condominiums tower and 43 luxury furnished residential condominiums. Exclusively accessible only to hotel guests. The hotel features an expansive roof-top outdoor garden as well as an indoor swimming pool and restaurant and lounge with spectacular panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline.
Pros: The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and in good condition. Very convenient to downtown Great Neck.
If you're holding a function it seems like a good time, there were two back to back while we were there and the guests seemed very happy with the venue.
Cons: There are virtually no frills in the hotel outside of the room. A very simple lobby, no restaurant, and almost no place to sit outside of your room anywhere.
The AC unit was incredibly loud in the room, beyond normal hotel business travel.
Fridge is stocked with minibar where everything is invoiced, so if you want to keep food you need to clear our their stuff and then replace.
Lone Elevator for the whole building was very slow, regularly took stairs to avoid.
Breakfast area is small, porch outside has huge heat vents blasting you when you try to eat out there. Breakfast area locked off hours so again nowhere to sit and relax outside of your room at all.
. luxury. comfort. convenience. style. Custom-Designed Boutique Property with Modern Room accommodationsLocated in the Heart of Great Neck, across from the LIRR25 minutes to NY Penn Station Less than 2 miles from North Shore-Long Island Jewish Hospitals
Pros: The staff were great, the area was perfect, and the walk from the train, and to restaurants was not bad at all- there's a free hourly shuttle too but we preferred walking. The price was very reasonable.
Cons: There was some construction going on, but it wasn't that noticeable and the club and traffic is audible- that may bother light sleepers...
Pros: The only positive aspect of the hotel was that the wedding we were attending was at The Foundry. The other positive aspect was the girl that helped with my luggage. She was very courteous and helpful.
Cons: The hotel was under construction and there were no clear signs indicating where to park or where to enter for the main lobby. I drove around the hotel 4 times until I finally called them to get information. You had to find your own parking on the street since there was no valet when I arrived at 4:30 PM. I actually had to call the hotel to inquire about the check in process and the location and called the front desk for the gentleman to come out and get some of my bags. When we went up to the room, there were flies and my husband actually killed about 10 of them. He called the front desk requesting a fly swatter and received no help. We also came back from the wedding and checked out that evening without staying overnight. The bar in the hotel became a nightclub and was very noisy and crowded. We also smelled marijuana in the stairwell of our floorl. It was a very disappointing stay and we will not be paying for our stay there and have requested a refund. Until they finish the construction, they should offer severely reduced rates. I definitely do not recommend this hotel. Stay in Manhattan over the bridge. Might be more reliable.
Pros: The best thing about the Ravel is it's proximity to mid town. A free shuttle or 10 minute walk to the nearest subway and you are two stops away from the heart of the city. For half the price of a comparable room in Manhattan you get almost the exact same convenience.
Cons: Long Island City is still very much an industrial area. The walk to the subway is past many warehouses and the area is kind of trashed. Fortunately all the streets stay pretty lit up but there is litter all over and you have to switch street sides because of construction.
Pros: The rooms are spacious and beautiful, very clean and up to date. The feel of the hotel overall is very trendy and modern. I would come again any time hands down
Cons: Because of the intense cold (and not so great insulation) the hall way and restaurant on the first floor were on the chilly side. I know it's petty stuff, but I just thought that being indoors would allow me to walk around without a jacket or sweater, and though I did, I regretted it right away because I was cold.
Pros: Free Shuttle Rides to local areas and substations. Extremely friendly staff. Very Accommodating. There was a little construction going on locally but hotel fully accomidated any and all needs.
Cons: The club on the roof top during the weekend was a little unexpected went until 3/4 if you are trying to sleep at a decent time this place isn't recommended for the weekend.
Pros: Good location
Cons: The hotel was run down requiring millions in renovations. The rooms were unsanitary in every respect. The furniture was terribly stained with cigarette burns all over the couch and chair. The desk was badly damaged. Lamp shades were stained and walls scraped all over with black scuff marks all over the white walls. I had to check out. They wouldn't refund my money but I had no choice.
Pros: If you are on duty for business in Manhattan and it is the firm who pays for fancy but tiny hotel room for you downtown then after the meeting ends you realize that it's not worth the money if you want to extend your stay for a couple of days more on your own budget, this one is the perfect match! You'll get nice view of the city , easy access to public transportations , shuttle service oh..and the rooms are huge and classy with less pay!
Cons: The rooms, NYC view from the rooftop restaurant, and the restaurant itself, staff are super nice, no-rip-off private car service to JFK.
Pros: Spacious rooms compared to Manhattan hotels
Cons: Some of the clientele were just trashy. There was a couple making out in the lobby right when you walked in at night granted the hotel does have a rooftop lounge that the locals treat as trashy Queens club, but it was a Sunday night, and the lounge was closed so you can't blame it on the alcohol. Room designer seemed to be obsessed with positioning fixtures in the upper right hand corner, which is ok I guess with certain things but not lighting fixtures. And last time I checked an electrical outlet should be by the sink, not above the toilet bowl, unless they consider there guests really hardcore multi-taskers that can shave and blow dry whilst...well you know
Pros: The location to get to downtown Manhattan was great. You can take the tunnel or the bridge and get there relatively quickly.
When I asked for the car service, the car was on time and the driver very courteous (I used them every day for a week).
The Rooftop view of the Manhattan skyline is terrific.
I felt the hotel was very secure and safe.
Cons: Did not like my room. I stayed in 106 which is on first floor right outside the elevator and main hall (room 105 is also located there). They have recently added a second door inside the room to help keep down the outside noise but it did little good between 5am and 9am each morning. The hotel has obviously had complaints about the noise or they would not have added the interior door with a sign as to why the door was there (noise). The elevator doors were constantly opening/closing and the cleaning staff were busy getting their carts to each of the other floors to begin maid services. Not to mention the numerous people coming down to get to breakfast and the chatter. The room itself was dirty and was in desperate need of a paint job. I realize they saved the top renting units for the top buyers but for what I did pay (which was not cheap) I was greatly disappointed.
As I stated in the pro's of the hotel, the rooftop view was incredible, but they have little to no seating to enjoy the skyline unless you want to sit in the covered restaurant, which greatly obscures the views. They had closed off the very top seating area on top of the restaurant the second night I was there. When I asked the hostess why, she had no reason to give and eventually allowed me to sneak up there to enjoy the night views and relax but made sure to close off the stairway access behind me so that no one else would go up there.
Cons: A hotel known for its view put me on the ground floor across from the elevator where I could hear everything. Bathroom had a roach and was filthy. Manager only offered to have someone in and clean. Overpriced for an experience I could have had at a Motel 6.
Pros: more parking
Cons: hard to get too, no subway within walking distance
The Ravel Hotel is just minutes from the Big Apple, but it won't take a big bite out of your budget. Located in Long Island City, this stylish yet affordable boutique hotel is just 1.5 miles east of Midtown Manhattan via the Queensboro (59th Street) Bridge. The bridge entrance is less than a mile from the hotel. Prefer not to drive? The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to a nearby subway station; you can get to Midtown in 10 minutes, and take a shuttle to Bloomingdale's, restaurants, airports and train stations (surcharge applies, reservations required).
Midtown sights are seemingly endless. You can take the NBC Studio Tour at Rockefeller Center, or marvel at the spectacular views from the Top of the Rock observation deck. A 10-minute walk away are the crowds and glittering lights of Times Square. Ride the wave of excitement into the new Hard Rock Café, where rock memorabilia and Americana reign. Fuel up with a burger and thick shake, then head to a Broadway show; dozens of theaters are within a half-mile.
All that leaves you ready for some serious unwinding. At Penthouse808, the hotel's rooftop restaurant and lounge, enjoy postcard-perfect bridge and skyline views over a romantic candlelight dinner, or dance to music spun by the house DJ. Pan-Asian cuisine dominates the menu. Lemongrass Steamed Mussels make a swank starter-or you can skip straight to sushi. Try a specialty drink such as the Rooftop Tea with citron, vodka, and honeysuckle.
After all the fun and excitement, your guestroom is a welcome retreat. The spacious rooms are contemporary and artful, with high ceilings; some open to private balconies. Snuggle under your down duvet and watch a late-night show on the 32-inch LCD TV. Or boot up your laptop with wireless Internet access (surcharge). Refresh in the glass-enclosed shower with a rainfall showerhead.
Complimentary Wi-Fi and a 24-hour business center are provided in the Ravel Hotel's lobby. A fitness center is open 24 hours a day. Other perks include breakfast and pet accommodation (surcharges apply for all). Limited spaces for self-parking are also available, as well as airport transportation.
Pros: The staff was amazing overall. They made my stay easy and comfortable. Very helpful concierge and bus drivers.
Cons: Beds were very uncomfortable.
Pros: Hotel is clean , staff is super friendly shuttle to/from the train.
Cons: I really wish they served some kind of light dinner even sandwiches or burgers would have been good.
Pros: Staff was very friendly, rooms were clean with a great view. not all rooms have that view though.
Cons: the fact that even if you pay for parking, people can still steal your spot for the night and there is nothing the staff can really do about it, although, they did not have me pay for parking my entire stay even though i got 1 night in the parking lot
Pros: Clean rooms, breakfast was good value and replenished regularly. Desk staff were extremely helpful especially Anil. All in all a great stay.

Cons: Hard to regulate temp with aircond unit. Location good though and staff helpful
Roomy, high ceiling, more space than expected.
Good clean AC unit
Nice to come back to at night after a day exhaustion from touring NYC.
Nice view, we stayed on the 9th floor.
I would stay here again.
Cons: Small TV
No iron in room
Only 1 elevator - but the wait is not too long.
No fridge in room
Pros: Front desk service.
Cons: Awkward breakfast service.
Not enough towels if you are staying more than one day
Pros: Very helpful with transportation and will hold luggage! Easy location to airport and trains
Cons: Bathroom was small but efficient and floors were incredibly waxed.... Slippery....

Pros: Clean room, facility, friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing...very pleased.

Cons: Too far away from the main area for restaurants. Nothing good was within walking distance.
Pros: Very good hotel! Would definitely come back if I return to the area.
Pros: Great staff especially the new Manager Hudson. Loved loved the seafood all you can eat buffet restaurant and the foot massage sevice was Devine!
Cons: Unfortunately the air conditioner in my room was very loud like a truck motor.
Cons: Love the fact the rooms are so big and the staff is always so good to us will always go back to the hotel !
Pros: Responsible. Free breakfast and parking. Clean sheets and blankets.
Cons: hair in sink and old towel left in room......
Pros: The rooms are very good. They are contemporary. Very well designed for senior citizens. Has a restaurant open till 12 in the night. Vending machines for drinks and water on every floor.
Cons: No bell boy. Not a problem for single travellers but we had a lot of luggage.

Hotel de Point offers a free airport shuttle during limited hours and puts you within a 15-minute drive of Citi Field and Bronx Zoo. Guests can grab a bite to eat at one of the 4 restaurants, then indulge in massages or mani/pedis. A bar/lounge and a snack bar/deli are offered, and rooms get the details right with comfy beds and iPod docks.
Pros: The view is about the best thing the hotel offered. View from room was great, roof top view great, roof top open all night for smokers, howevee it was closed cuz of the weather, bed good, pillows good, For 280 a night it beats the prices in Manhattan.
Cons: Shuttle was always overbooked, even when booked in advance they would need to make 2 trips because not all would fit, cleaning never replaced all towels after following leave dirty towels on floor, cleaning didnt replace tissue box after it was empty, the AC did not work, lucky hurricane joaquin was in the area so it dropped temps to the 50's, we had AC set at 65 it was blowing hot air so we had the windows open, food for the price was horrible, we ate at the restaurant 1 night, dinner for 2 with 2 drinks was 140, better off earing cheaper food by the 21st and lexington subway station in long island or venturing out to manhattan where food may well be pricier but will be better.
Pros: Great breakfast buffet for great cost. Exceptional bed and pillows . Outstanding view rooftop (when you can get past the loud obnoxious party at night)
Cons: No pool, party on rooftop goes on too late (4 am) so others can't enjoy the view.
Pros: the view at night was amazing love it. the front desk was very helpful and very attentive I enjoy my stay and we are planning to come back. thank you very much for the accommodation.
Pros: The decor of the rooms was quite interesting. The bathroom shower did not really have a door and the door to the bathroom is a massive glass slab that moves backwards and forwards, very modern in design. Water was nice and hot, a/c worked wonderfully and I loved that they had a free shuttle to take you to Manhattan every hour! The complimentary breakfast each morning didn't have a large selection but it was still nice, brunch on the rooftop is a must! Great view of the city skyline as well.
Cons: On our last night stay, house keeping never came although we requested housekeeping. Small mini fridge, you won't really be able to put anything in it, not only is it filled with mini bar items, it's about two inches deep before you hit the back of it so don't count on storing leftovers!
Pros: We chose this hotel for the view, but actually the hotel offers many others advantages, shuttle bus super efficient, bikes, good breakfast, amazing rooftop with bar/club. In the room you can find everything you could
Cons: We couldn't control the heater, whichapparently didn't work, I was cold the whole night.
Pros: Obviously prettymuch the only reason to come here are the views of Manhattan, which are pretty spectacular, especially at night.
I've heard the roof deck is pretty awesome when it's open.
Cons: I don't know if it's possible for the staff to have cared less. Moody and weird and check in, didn't let us know about the included breakfast (had to go back down and ask and they never gave us th voucher we apparently needed). Like a bunch of teenage boys running the place.
FYI this building basically doesn't have a back...like no real walls, so if that freaks you out... It also makes it incredibly cold and the thermostat in the room is just some kind of placebo effect trick as it does nothing.
Everything, especially the bathroom, was a bit dingy. One of the worst values at a hotel for the money I paid.
Pros: rien a dire très bon séjour dans cet hôtel
quartier calme, vue magnifique de la chambre, personnel très agréable, un très bon service de navette avec des chauffeurs très gentils
service café libre service le matin
que des points positif.
Cons: Ended up leaving the hotel at 2:30 am the first night since we were unable to sleep due to extremely loud music from a roof party which ended at 4:00 am. We'll never return and we'll never recommend it. First time in my life that I had to leave a hotel.
Pros: I liked the view of Manhattan from my bedroom, the location, and free shuttle into the city. While the hotel clearly caters to tourists, there is room for a business traveller who is somewhat flexible with her or his time.
Cons: The hallways outside of the rooms can be fairly noisy and loud.
Situated on a river, this boutique hotel is 2.7 mi (4.4 km) from United Nations Headquarters and within 6 mi (10 km) of Chrysler Building and Grand Central Terminal.
Pros: Friendly staff. Promptly services.
Continental breakfast, wireless internet, local calls and daily newspapers free of charge
Vicinity of subway station
Cons: - There are no hotel parking lots or garage
- No swimming pool
- No terraces

Cons: I was not impressed by attitude I got over the phone. The staff didn't take the time to actually listen to what I was asking, and responded with whatever they wanted. Then, when we arrived, they said they would call us to let us know when we could check in, however, they did not. So we showed up and took a chance they we could finally check in. And I got charged the extra 25 dollars for no reason. We came back to the room after 1 in the morning, and left at 8 in the morning. All we did was sleep. Nothing was touched, broken or ruined. We are always very respectful, yet they kept the extra money. Over 150 just to sleep for 7 hours, too much if you ask me. I will not be coming back when we go back to new York next month.
The beds are very hard, and the pillows are extremely lumpy. And the towels are very cheap, thin towels. Was not impressed, for the amount I was charged.
Pros: My room was clean and comfortable. There is a great buffet breakfast served every morning. The room includes bottled water. The staff is excellent Especially Darma the buffet server. She made sure everyone had plenty to eat. You also get free parking.
Cons: The breakfast was very good .
Cons: The bathroom vanity was small, not very much room to put your things. I asked for a quiet room but the street noise was pretty loud. The beds are hard so if you like a soft bed you may be uncomfortable. This hotel is ok for 1 or 2 nights but I wouldn't stay there longer.
Pros: Staff was extremely friendly and did their best accommodate my needs.
Cons: There was no heat during my stay and it was freezing that night. They tried fixing it but it only lasted for an hour. They did give me blankets, but I was still cold.

Pros: It was a great price for weekend, nice breakfast quick and friendly check in
Cons: Woke up to a bed bug bite on forearm also found bug crawling on pillow case. Searched bed but only found the one. Really was unsatisfied by the incident .
Pros: Quiet clean
Pros: I had a layover of a night at JFK, I booked this hotel for a reasonable price and it did not dissapoint me. there was a free hotel shuttle to and from the airport which was convenient. staff was nice. Hotel was very clean. did not check the surroundings as I slept and left early next morning.
Pros: It was ok for the price. We got what we paid.
Cons: I liked that it was close to the subway. The flat screen tv. There was a puertorrican driver who was very helpful and friendly. I don't remember his name. Thanks

Pros: I was pleasantly surprised at how clean this hotel was. When hotels quickly turn rooms for the next guests arrival, some house keeping issue get overlooked. This however was not the case at 5 Town. Very clean rooms and the entire hotel staff was wonderful. Each hotel employee was attentive and kind. I would return to this hotel and I would recommend it to family and friends. Please acknowledge the entire staff at 5 Town and thank them for making my first stay a nice experience.
Cons: My only complaint was the AC unit. It was difficult to adjust to my sleeping comfort
