The location was pretty nice, albeit a little out of the way to/from Acadia. The area is nice, but I wouldn't spend a full day there. The cleanliness was okay, but there was some dust and stuff lying around, all in all okay.
I forgot to pack up my electrical toothbrush and left it in the room. Although being 100% sure that I brushed my teeth at the property in the morning and sending an email to them the next day, they claim to not have found my toothbrush. To me, cleanliness and security are the two things I am most concerned with in a booking, which sadly in this case, cost me my electric toothbrush. In my opinion, the owner was not nice and was even threatening me. Although I understand that it is an personal hygiene item, you can easily remove the brush head and you have a nice toothbrush worth €150. The breakfast was very basic and bread was stale - the basics were covered, but that's it.
The breakfast was an average continental breakfast. Bagels, toast, juice, yogurt, fresh bananas, 2 cereals. The suite was large and comfortable. Our room was on the road side. But the traffic was light and we were able to get a good nights sleep. There was a working fireplace in the room. We did not use it, but thought it was a great option. There was a large soaking tub as well.
I expected homemade breakfast options. This is an old Inn that has a restaurant. The price to stay here is a little more than a chain hotel where we usually get the store bought continental breakfasts. The room was chilly. We discovered the next morning that there was a heater. No one had told us about it prior.
It such a unique old house with a lot of history. I felt like I was back in time. The staff were great and we enjoyed a meal in the on site restaurant.
Very attractive old hotel with excellent facilities including traditional cosy restaurant.
Couldn't find any fault!
Loved everything! Great spot off the beaten track. Lovely decor. Old world charm. Wonderful food at restaurant on premises. Perfect get away! 50 minutes to Acadia National Park. Worth staying away from busy tourist spots.
