Overview
Originally built around the Historic Jan Nielson home, Desert Rose Resort and Cabins has since grown and been renovated to be the luxury resort it is now. Centrally located in the Grand Circle National Parks, Monuments, and Attractions, Desert Rose Resort is a popular destination for tourists not only in the US but from around the world.
Guests have their choice of 53 rooms from 30 rooms in single and double lodges, 7 rooms in Executive and Family cabins, and 16 suites in the more luxurious Courtyard Suites. All rooms are non-smoking and have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, iron, hairdryer, and clothes rack. Some rooms also come with private balconies and VIP facilities.
Guests are encouraged to curl up with a good book by the fireplace in the lobby or relax and watch the sunset out on the backyard deck. An outdoor fire pit will keep the chilly desert night at bay as guests enjoy the stars and fresh air. A fully equipped gym and heated indoor pool are also available for exercise or to just cool down after a day out in the sun.
There are 2 on-site restaurants. Duke's is a casual fine dining restaurant that is seasonal and only open part of the year. It serves new American cuisine infused with Southwestern flavors. Secret Oasis is available by reservation only and is secluded from the rest of the property in an outdoor venue with an excellent view of the beauty of the surrounding cliffs.
Guests will be delighted at the close proximity of so many natural landmarks such as Gooseneck State Park, Valley of the Gods, Bears Ears National Monument, and Monument Valley. Historical areas include Bluff Fort Historic Site, Sand Island Petroglyphs, and Pioneer Cemetery.

Book a Room with a View
Several guests mentioned that the views from the rooms were spectacular. Opting for a room with a balcony facing the surrounding cliffs or garden comes highly recommended.
Plan Dining Options
As the on-site restaurant, Duke's, is seasonal and may be closed due to COVID or other reasons, it's advisable to check its availability in advance. Additionally, guests can explore nearby dining options, such as the Twin Rocks Cafe, to ensure a variety of choices.
Enjoy the Outdoor Facilities
Guests appreciated the outdoor fire pit and backyard deck for stargazing and relaxation. Taking advantage of these facilities during the evening is a great way to unwind and appreciate the natural surroundings.
Consider Cabin Accommodation
For a more authentic and cozy experience, consider staying in one of the Executive or Family cabins, which were praised for their comfort and character by previous guests.
Check Wi-Fi Connectivity
Some guests experienced issues with the Wi-Fi in their rooms. It's advisable to inquire about the Wi-Fi signal strength in the chosen accommodation and consider this factor when planning activities that require internet access.

Consider Noise Levels
Some guests mentioned road noise and noise from neighboring rooms as minor inconveniences. Light sleepers may want to consider this when selecting a room and possibly bring earplugs for a restful night's sleep.
Utilize the Gym and Indoor Pool
The fully equipped gym and heated indoor pool provide convenient options for exercise and relaxation. Guests can take advantage of these facilities, especially after a day of outdoor activities, to unwind and rejuvenate.
Plan for Limited Dining Options
Given the limited dining options in the small town, especially on specific days of the week, guests may want to plan meals in advance or consider bringing their own food for added convenience.
