Borg El Arab Hotels

The hotel is a huge and comfortable complex (now they've built 30% from it). It's one hour from city by car (I booked it because of wrong info in google, now it fixed). It's not good. The area outside is open with green grass, roads, and future hotel complex and other buildings under construction. You don't have place to walk. Tennis or golf court are also presented. Swim pool outside with warm water and free towels. Good food. The rest please see on hotel's site. To get to the hotel from city by taxi call it ALEX WEST. Alexandria's not a city of clean streets and air - please mention. The room (2-rooms' in our case) was very good, and the bathroom either.

A very nice old Victorian style. It's well located in the city center over viewing the sea. Upon your arrival, the hotel served us with a refreshing fresh juice with some small delicious small bites. A non planned complimentary light dinner was served.

Eventhough the towels are clean but they are old looking. We informed the management & they promised to take this into consideration.The lights in the rooms are a bit dim.The balconies are small, you can't sit in it which is a shame cause the view is nice

We had a delightful room overlooking the plaza and the harbor. The hotel was clean, comfortable and loaded with charm. The buffet-style breakfast was good with lots of choices, including omelets to order. Churchill slept here. So did Noel Coward and Somerset Maugham. It was the headquarters of British Secret Service during WWII and when you enter the hotel and its rooms, you feel as if you're walking into a piece of history. The bathrooms are modern; everything else looks like a set from a Humphrey Bogart movie. We loved it! Beware the cranky wooden elevator. It's fun to ride but on one trip from the lobby to the 3rd floor, it took me instead to the basement, and stayed there. I exited through the kitchen.

I did not like anything about this hotel.

Rooms were dirty; bathroom was filthy; and A/C in the hall way was making a lot of noise that I had to change rooms twice because of it. The funniest part is some rooms have access to the pool and some don't. Also, they don't have iron in the rooms and when I asked for one, they declined. I had to check out after the first night and went to a different hotel. This was a terrible experience.
