the staff is verry nice and friendly. Also the location is great, right in the centre of town.
The pleasant and courteous staff. The clean, comfortable, air conditioned rooms. The excellent restaurant. The decor of the bar was great - liked the nautical theme and the copper fittings. Hotel was great overall.
Excellent, Value for money and the staff are very helpful all round. Just being up graded with New rooms, ect to a very high standard.
Location, Staff , Rooms No mini bar!!!
Staff unwelcoming and unfriendly - seemed rather bored. The bar was not open and no tea or coffee was available.
It met my expectations.
The location is great, in town center and even if the hotel dont offer parking it was easy to find on streets nearby. The room is newly renowated and is fresh and comfortable. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room is small, no saftey box in the room and just a blanket (no cover)
Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent and dinner in the restaurant offered a good variety, reasonably priced and top quality
the hotel is in the middle of being refurbished and the rooms are lovely. Good central location for the area and town. As it is being refurbished the reception was a nightmare stepping over workmen tiling the floor during the day. I found it very hard to understand the charges for breakfast when there was no checks made on who went into the room where breakfast was served but they added breakfasts to my bill anyway for all four parties staying! How do they know if we had breakfast or not and in fact my daughter did not eat anything so I was not happy about being charged 12 Euros for her.
Hotel is located in the middle of the center, 1 min from liberty square. 7 min. walk from the station. The personnel was very nice and spoke good English. They even let us check out later on request! The room was very proper and convenient. Absolutely nothing to complain! Very recommendable for a comfortable stay in Brest!
The hotel was in a convenient location - near the train and bus station, the chateau, and several good restaurants. Staff were friendly, helpful and courteous.
There is no car park. I had to park on the street in the centre of Brest and move my car by 9.00 next morning.
Super room, wifi, tv with english channels. Great choice at breakfast.
Location and service No mini bar in room and not spotlessly clean
Very well equipped rooms; quiet. Excellent breakfast.
Nice and clean. Good location. Helpful staff. Helpful to non French speaking people.
Central position, accessible secure parking, reception staff particularly helpful Breakfast could have been more imaginative for 12 euros per person
The service was excellent, every person we dealt with was more than helpful and went out of their way to communicate in the best possible way with us. Service was prompt and efficient at all times. The hotel was spotless and the food of a good quality. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone and commend it on it's superior quality. There is a large difference in standard between two star and three star properties in this area of France Nothing
Very clean but France is expensive. Brest is quite expensive, bier, food ...
Enjoyed stay. Way better than any 3 star hotels in paris I have stayed in.staff friendly and helpful
It was quiet, convenient and comfortable
Staff helpfulness and friendliness Limited resources within it
This hotel was just perfect! The bed was SO comfortable and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. It's also a pretty cute hotel - kind of art deco. I was there three nights for a conference and it was exactly what I needed. Super well located for exploring Brest too!
The room was very nice.
very frienly staff.
Excellent Art Nouveau decor, well run, comfortable, central enough. We were a party of 9 flying 4 Avions Prives round Bretagne. A really nice 2 day stay at International (Brest). Pity about your hotel in Quimper. Very disapointing in comparison Absolutely none. Definite recommendation and we will fly in to visit Brest again one day.
Did not enjoy the experience at all !!!! Nothing was at all memorable of the hotel accommodation or location. Room was cold and uninviting. We were both glad to move on the following day. We, in the end, stayed for only one night instead of the anticipated two.
Nicely located in the quieter part of Brest. Smart decor and very clean everywhere. large comfortable sitting area and good bar. Well recieved by friendly young informative staff, some also spoke very good English There are no signs for this hotel that I saw in Brest unlike almost all the other hotels so if you are in the central part of the city in a car it is very difficult to find. I phoned three times for directions as the city is in upheaval for road works. Breakfast is far too expancive à 14E!.
Very friendly and calm environment, a good service standard, very satisfying breakfast buffet. Only 1 employee at the reception desk, means no possibility to have a quick service when in a hurry.!!!!!!
old style building spacious internet gave problems
The staff There should be screens on the window. I had an open window and my room had mosquitoes-and I had several bites.
Room design and flexibility
The meal in the restaurant was the best I have tasted in years. The beds were really comfortable. There was no tea and coffee available in the rooms.
Easy to find and good parking. Rooms were bright and airy. Hotel corridors etc let down general hotel facilities which were modern.
The hotel rooms' were both spacious and comfortable.
Reception staff and ease of check in
The family rooms are in my opinion unsafe as they do not have a stairgate, the wooden floor is a risk for people to slip down. The rail is to low in the upstairs room and the windows are too low to the floor for kids. see above and the lighting was poor in the rooms
Perfect hotel for a large family and dog in transit - and walking distance from the city centre. Actually, I had two adjoining double rooms and staff were very helpful in finding us the ideal combination.
the room and the services when we used the spa, we were not told the rate for its use. we didn't mind paying, it would have better to confirm that the customer realises it is charged for.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. We have spent a 9 day vacation in France. During that time we have changed 6 hotels. This one was the worst one. When we arrived at 9 PM, there was no parking available for our car.
Very helpful and pleasant reception staff
the hotel was within easy reach to the town centre and having private car parking was also a plus whilst not a complaint I have to say that the bed was not very comfortable
The manager (Sebine). was excellent in answering all our needs within seconds. honest and sincere service.
confortable enough, spacious and clean i can't be able to know from the day before that I'd like to have breakfast the day after in order to reserve.
Mysepf and faily thought the new style aparthotel was truly fantastic, the only comparison would be the Suitehotel from Accor, Brilliant No
Friendly helpful staff, No
helpful pleasant english speaking staff, clealiness of room and building lack of kettle, plug sockets in kitchen too high, dangerous, have to stand on chair to plug in appliances,no english tv channels
The room was very, Very small. It would have been ok as a single room only.
Wi-fi Rooms too small
The coffee machine and the tea provided. No bathtub
No Parking close
great front desk staff and helpful restaurant staff there was mould in the shower stall. the room was a bit on the small side but acceptable. parking was free on a large empty field also used by the locals within a 2 minutes walk of the hotel well lit really is not a minus point but it was unsupervised. no signs of vandalism seen. no place to unload car in front of hotel
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and well serviced.
Contemporary furniture, internet access, good bed, god lightning No tissue in the bathroom, no air conditioning, have to carry your luggage over a stair before accessing the elevator
Hotel was in central location, very close to restaurants and shopping. Decor was modern and rooms were comfortable. Air conditioning wasn't working (or at least I couldn't find a way of making it work).
My wife and I celebrated our fourtieth wedding anniversary there and really enjoyed our stay. It was excellent value for money with an excellent buffet breakfast. The location is well situated for the city and for touring the Brittany coastline. Highly recommended for low budgets
Not bad for a city/port hotel. The breakfast was nice and we had a nice evening meal in the bar. The room was quite small and the bed very small for 2 people. It was strange to have no receptionist and to have to put in a door code but we found this was the norm at several of the hotels we stayed at during our holiday.
very good restaurant with an inventive menu. Free Internet access. In-room tea making facilities. All lights off door key switch no English TV channels, overpowering room air freshener
Luxury rooms, hospitality, quality restaurant and free internet available in rooms Difficult for parking during the evening
The room was excellent size and bed really good quality. Bathroom was very spacious with a bath/shower. Staff has been overall very warm and welcoming and it felt like a family place. Wireless not available in the rooms
Nearby parking, Good standard ensuite, Not really suitable for drinks at the bar
Location/parking. Comfort of the bed/mattress. Good breakfast Music at breakfast time - too loud and not restful (jazz).
Very nice, clean and comfortable and had obviously only just been done up Nothing I did not like although there was no WiFi facility
The room I stayed in was modern, spacious and very comfortable. Although near the stairwell, a separate lobby inside my door meant that I was not disturbed by people using the stairs. The breakfast room is the bar used by the jazz club in the evenings, and very atmospheric. I'd stay here again, especially if needing somewhere near the SNCF main train station.
very well located downtown Brestville, recently renovated, on top of one of the most alive jazz clubs in town mind to choose a room far from the pub on some days of afterhours parties lasting up to 6 am... Or spend the nite down there!
The front desk staff was efficient and our room was comfortable. I would say a good value price-convenience.
Location near rail sevice and town centre was very comvenient On Oct 25-6, i was mistakenly charged for 2 breakfasts+tax; because of language difficulties I was unable to explain this to the receptionist
The hotel exudes a fantastic atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel host various forms of musical entertainment in their basement such as a disco and live bands. The hotel is perfectly situated amongst shops, cafes and bars. The tourist information office is on the same street as is the airport shuttle stop. The hotel room does not have tea or coffee making facilities and the hotel couldnt provide us with an iron.
The hotel is out of the city but just off the motorway, which is great if you travel by car, but still is just a 10' drive to city center. The building is new, the room was big, clean, comfortable, with a nice bathroom and the bed was amazing. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.
The hotel staff was very knowledgeable and very nice to let us use the kitchen facilities because the restaurant was closed. Being a new hotel it was extremely confortable and well designed. The shower facility was extremely clean and relaxing. Good water pressure. Very quiet and well insulated.
Pleasent and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast with great choice. A good place to stop just off the motorway and close to airport. No
Very close to Airport, just 10 minutes away by car. Very confortable with huge bed and bathroom. A nice flat screen TV set with Canal + too much dust on the furniture
very good hotel, refurbished completely with all needed for a good stay
Some of the staff was very nice The room was comfortoble and clean Ur hotel was in aindustrial estate was to far to walk into the town ..a hotel with the same name was in the town . The taxi company the hotel uses fares for same journey different pricess .Breakfast in hotel cost 14euros each for acold breakfast . The Restraunt advertised for lunch as there was only the two of us we were offerd a sandwich It consisted of two smallbread rolls a small piece of ham asprinkle of grated cheese a bottle of water and small beer at a cost of 21eurose felt it was very poor value
Very comfortable, excellent shower and beds. Did not try restaurant so cannot comment on food. Would have liked at least one TV programme in English. As non French speaking this was annoying as other Best Western hotels we have stayed in in other parts of Europe did have multi language channels.
The staff were very pleasant This hotel was portrayed as being in Brest, it is actually in an industrial area nowhere near the city centre
Excellant friendly staff that spoke great English and were extremely helpful. Secure Car Parking facilities were available at no extra charge. Good sized rooms and cleaned daily. Great for a family as had a small play area for kids. Very quiet, comfortable and clean and well maintained hotel. Would stay again. Restaurant was good and had a great fish choice but it was limited it you didnt like or want fish each evening. The restaurant was also not open at the weekends. You need a car to stay at the hotel as everything is a short drive.
cleanliness friendly staff We were not inform at any time that the restaurant would be closed at the weekend. We were relying on the restaurant to sever us food on the saturday night. If we had know before hand we would not have stayed at this hotel.
Staff very pleasant. Very good restaurant and good value for money. If there was a lift I didn't see it. I have damaged my knee so it was a struggle and quite painful carrying my luggage up the stairs.
Good location to Brest airport ( Just 7 min drive), but nothing else around the hotel. One resturant 10 min walk from the Hotel. The Airport Hotels in Brest are located in a industrial area
Very friendly and helpful staff. My French is very limited but nearly all the staff spoke excellent english which was a great help to me.
Staff very helpful Not being advised on booking.com info that the hotel has no restaurant facilities on Friday/Saturday/Sunday and the charge for the breakfast offering was too high
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Good choice for breakfast. Managed to walk from airport (about 40 minutes without luggage.) Located in an industrial zone.
The hotel was very clean, well presented and the staff were very friendly. The beds were very comfortable. I would have appreciated tea and coffee facilities in the room.
very nice room-clean,pleasant staff.and helpful
everything. as i have been there 2 yrs ago for the same reason. should have provided enough towel for the number of guest in the 1st place. shouldnt need to ask for them.
nice clean room and very quiet. location not convenient for anything other than a stop over, but fine for what we wanted. If you want to be able to walk anywhere then chose somewhere closer to the town centre.
Well managed, friendly and helpful owners, clean. Somewhat further from the city center. However, there is a good bus connection.
The family room was a good size. Beds were comfortable. Ok for a budget one night stay. Hotel receptionist was friendly and helpful. The location was on a business park, although we did not have any problems with noise as we arrived late in the evening. Breakfast was very expensive for what it was.
The staff were lovely and friendly. Good location on the outskirts of the city. Nice and comfortable. no
The hotel owners are warm and friendly - she's from New York, he's a former French sailor - if your French is rusty, it's a perfect place for Americans to get their bearings. Breakfast was perfect - croissants, fabulous coffee, yaghurt, juice. And the room was simple but roomy, and very clean and comfortable. Great place for kids, and it's in a lovely area. The only thing was that there was a nice deep tub/shower, great soft towels, but no shower curtain. There was no way to keep the water in the shower - so we wasted very nice towels.
New and clean hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious parking. As the hotel is located quite some distance from the city center, the absence of a restaurant forces guests to have a car in order to get to a dinner restaurant.
The friendliness and the understanding the hotel management gave to myself and my family, they could not be faulted.
The room was large, the bed was comfortable and breakfast was good. The hotel staff was very helpful and nice. Very small elevator to the upper levels, but it was functional.
All the staff at the Abalys are truely outstanding showing maximum care for their guests. I have never encountered better service in any hotel, even 5*, anywhere in the world. The rooms are adequate size, in good condition with flat screen TV which has UK channels. The hotel is in an excellent location close to the city centre and within easy walking distance of all requirements. Our parents who joined us on our trip thought the brekfast at E8.00 was expensive for a coisant and tea but they were not fans of the French morning diet. The only minor negative point during our stay was the fact we had a kettle but no cups/milk in our room. This was recitified immediate on our comment but was not returned the following day by cleaning staff.
very nice hotel for a good price - big room with a bath! they were expexting us - and knew our name by arrival the elevator is as big as a telephone booth - so we had to cary our buggy with our little girl three floors up
Staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was great. Strange smell in halls but the rooms were really good. Breakfast was adequate.
Friendly staff. Hotel located in the city center, in front of a park, plenty of parking places in the street. Nice room with balcony. No staff in the hotel after 1:00 AM. Very small bathroom.
very friendly staff, great location, excellent value for money
The room was fabulous for a small hotel, the parking was across the road, the view looked across the gardens and out to sea Would have liked boiled eggs at breakfast
Good position, not far from the center and harbour. In our suite there was lovely furniture. The room for children was simple, but comfortable. No parking
Comfortable older type hotel with very good facilities and excellent helpful and friendly staff. Close to city centre, station and port. Just a pity there is nothing much in Brest! Nothing
Proximity to rail station, proximity to downtown, ease of coming and going. No
The friendliness of the staff and quick efficient service. There was not enough blankets on the bed.
the big dog
Good option if you are looking for budget accomodation in Brest. Convenient if you have a car. The personnel was very friendly. Not very close to the downtown but there is a bus stop next to the hotel and in 20 minutes you can get to the city center. The room is OK for one person but for a couple it might be a little incommodious.
Quick check-in, no hassles. Requests for a double bed and car parking space was not taken into consideration. No floor mat in the shower room which could pose a danger on wet floor.
Easy access to bus into city.Good value breakfast and evening meal more choice of TV stations,I could get just 1 station
The personal service of the manager, His initial welcome was very friendly and he was very helpfull `non
24 hours reception, very helpful staff Most of the stuff didnt speak nor understand English, which was well, baffling. The location - if one is driving it's alright, but getting there with a public transportation is sort of an advanture
Convenient location for touring, plenty of parking. Rooms comfortable but small. Breakfast room too small and not much choice. Own transport needed as quite far out of town.
Service and cleanliness were excellent. I understand it is a budget hotel, but the rooms were too small. A dog in the hotel spoilt our sleep
I appreciated the ecologic policy of the hotel staff
TV because it was raining there quite a lot. Not possible to check in between 11am-5pm (closed reception),Bed not comfortable
alternative (new age), cute design, for young backpakers bed was ok, but not good; (fast and sneaky) moskitos
ease of use and staff lack of daytime access to communal areas
A quiet room on the garden, very clean, recent furniture, friendly staff. They could give more bathroom products (only 1 small soap for 3 days, no shampoo). And sound isolation isn't great unfortunately.
5-10mins walk from town centre, good value basic breakfast, free wifi, lcd tv in room, smiling staff, common areas bright and airy. very soft mattress. no shampoo in shower, thin transparent curtain (turn out the lights if you do not want to be on display at night). Peeling wallpaper in the toilet.
Basic but clean and tidy room. Toilet separate from bathroom. Adeqaute on street parking in adjoning streets. Nice fresh bread and croissants at breakfast. Easy walk to town and university hall (slighlty uphill) Thin walls, so noise travells from adjoining rooms. It would have been nice to have a kettle and coffee making facilities in room
Awful smell in passageway to lift. Non-smoking room smelt of smoke
Spacious, clean bedrooms and shower rooms; comfortable beds. Very convenient location for early morning boats to Molene/Ouessant. Lift from pavement level. Easy road access from Quimper direction only, but city itself currently a major building site for new tram network. Very noisy (corridors, neighbouring rooms, outside) late at night and early in the morning - both nights, and both for me and for my friends on the floor below. Sailors from the nearby docks? Seemed to be shortstaffed, leading to waits at reception and poor sevice at breakfast buffet. Location is grim - boutiquification of dock area is in very early stages, so lots of waste ground and empty (?) warehouses.
Because I was visiting my sister arriving on the Ventura into brest it was the nearest Hotel to the Ships Dock. No Hairdryer in the room or one available to use from reception.
