very helpfull and friendly staff. I can not complain
The room was tidy and the complimentary champagne made the evening - though it had to be asked for. The concierge seemed rude at first during check-in.
The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time and always felt welcomed. The shower/bath controller stuck so water comes out into the bath but that was more funny than unliked and it just meant that the pressure was low.
It was such a short visit but concierge desk most helpful The coffee - need a good barista
bathroom grout was covered in mildew. really unacceptable in this level of hotel. pool closed too early at night.
Location Complimentary water and chocolates were not there on arrival. Delivered 5 hours after. Coffee machine but no coffee cups, delivered 2 hours after I called reception. $38 parking fee.
Excellent check in and check out service and also service at Cuvee lounge also excellent
hotel was fab. staff were so friendly and very helpful. great breakfast buffet with great selection.
Convienient for public transport & city access. Feather/down pillow.Comfortable room.24hour facilities
First class buniness man hotel. Great staff
We enjoyed the welcoming staff at reception, the room was very comfortable. The staff in the bar, coffee shop and restaurant were all very pleasant. We also left an item of clothing behind and the staff were very helpful finding and returning same
Helpfulness and friendliness of hotel staff and good selection of foods at breakfast.
Location was excellent - just opposite Central Rlwy station and easy access from airport via airtrain. The staff moved us to another suite when our aircon broke down - and did it really well. Easy walk to shops and Queen St mall. Restaurant breakfast and room disappointing for the price.
Antique furniture The DVD player and stereo supplied in each room looked out of place and the TV remote was hard to work
Location was very convenient for shops and transport (airport train outside your door), and I liked the old building, much more pleasant than a modern hotel.
Spacious living room and mini kitchen. Combo washer drier has too complicated.
It was close to the City you could walk everywhere.Very Freindly kind staff. Lovely room. Close to all public Transport. The parking bay out the front of the Hotel not really big enough, we had trouble pulling in there due to other vehicles being in there all the time
Valet Parking, easy to find, great location, the bed sheets and bed was very comfortable. No
Ideal location - just across the road from station. easy access to city centre- shops bars etc.
The hotel is very well maintained and clean. The view into Anzac Square was very pleasant and it is very well positioned in the CBD making it easy to walk to places of interest. Rates and location big draw card for us. Nothing it is a good place to stay.
It central position..great for staying in Brisbane Mold and rust in bathroom
The convienent location, the friendly helpful staff and excellent facilities
bed was comfortable - can't recommend much else rate was disproportionate to quality of facilities - is a tired hotel (stained carpets, rusty fittings etc.) with mediocre facilities demanding premium rates.
proximity to suncorp stadium. Rate was cheap given it was origin night.
The convenient location
Staff were uniformly really friendly and helpful - upgraded us following a cancelled flight. Breakfast great - omelettes to order. Beds and rooms comfy and clean with nice extras. Spas on 18 floor fabulous and hard to leave.
I liked the relaxation Food was expensive
Centrally located in the heart of Brisbane CBD. Public transport and other travel facilities at the front door. Hotel across the road had cheap good quality food. Very few 'modern' facilities. Parking as a guest is a rort paying an extra $28 overnight.
Excellent, efficent, helpful staff
We were welcomed by a nice and pleasant receptionsit, the room was large and in good condition. There was a bit of noise from the railway station so next time I will specifiy a room on the road side.
position, breakfast. doona to hot, would like a top sheet
the central location was excellent for a city break - the hotel was very quiet and the room was a good size.
Foxtel on the TV, the bed was comfortable. The internet connection fee is a rip off, to be charged for internet connection when you're not in your room working is appalling. Why can't the hotel charge when in use only? I am aware it's outsourced by an IT consultancy but nevertheless I'm sure the Holiday Inn make money on it. The other point is if i knew there was a rail station right on the hotel I would not have chosen the hotel. Found it difficult to sleep as a result.
It was a great hotel, simple as that! Great location, great views, friendly staff, and a great room. The bed was a little stiff for my preference but every back is different.
Our bed was amazing best sleep we have had in a long time The room was so clean and modern
great staff especially nicola and very comfortable. the restaurant was very good too.
The swimming pool, the view and the restaurant and its friendly wait staff. I liked that we could leave our bags without any hassle. The cabs came quickly. The noise from the renovations in the afternoon! I didn't like the lack of a sewing kit in the room and the lack of a newspaper at the door although I got these by asking at reception.
Close to Spring Hill and the river We'd booked two rooms, one for my husband and myself, the other for our adult daughter. We asked if the rooms were different, if one was better for a couple, and told there was no difference. In fact, one had a much larger bathroom. The staff should have known this and advised us accordingly.
Nothing Rooms overpriced, cleanliness poor, in room facilities poor especially internet connections, Restaurant overrated and expensive, car parking fees charged when free days on public holidays, Breakfast over priced and poor quality (eg no fresh eggs), Electrical items in room defective.
Friendly guests and staff The mildew on the grouting in the bathroom
It was central, well known brand and useful as an overnight stay, and had a secure carpark. On the top of the Hotel half the neon lights spelling out the Hotel's name were broken, so the name of the Hotel was unrecognisable when driving to it at night.
Very little. It was poor value for money and I would not recommend it to anyone. There was no free parking for hotel guests. The hotel is a long way from the CBD and surrounded by steep hills. The rates are high but the facilities are poor. The room was serviced but no fresh towels were provided. The interior of the rooms are pleasant enough but the corridors and elevators are dated and shabby.
good position very helpfull staff small rooms , hotel; needs general update
I liked it being close to the City. Decent swimming pool and gym. Mini bar was well stocked even though I didn't need it. The service is very average , some days they make the b d and nothing replaced like towels and soap etc. the worst wifi service never connects or super slow, only 250 mb for 24 hrs but doeywork anyways. Even though the ad says free parking it is freeoy for weekends. The check out was annoying tney wanted to keep thr $10" deposit with bogus charges.
We really enjoyed the spa and pool on the roof. The room and the view were both excelent. The housekeepers did a wonderful job and it was a pleasure to come back to our room in a clean and well presented state. Thought it was very strange to find 1 bottle of water and 1 apple left for us as complimentry when there were 2 of us staying in the room.
Staff very friendly; hotel itself maybe due for slight make-over Bit down-at-heel furnishing-wise
Atmosphere was good. , Liked the heritage aspects. Better location than centre of city but convenient to rail. Excellent restaurant. Our room 305 was a bit tight - next time we'll ask for a larger one. Mattress on the bed is perhaps near its end of useful life.
Proximity to Train line and city centre (short walk).
Convenience to Central station, and Queen Street Mall for good restaurants/dining when you arrive late. Very polite and helpful staff, impressed with pre-arrival call.
Convenient to central station Bed was uncomfortable. Lack of pleasant outlook. (I am confused as to how any response to this question can be separated from the instruction not to use this for complaints.)
The meals at Armstrongs Restaurant were a highlight of our stay. New carpet had just been installed in our room so there was a chemical smell throughout our stay,
Friendliness of staff and the old world charm, but food staff need to review their efforts noise from traffic
clean, self contained, bed great/ small complex, easy come n go bottle opener needed replacing, I did a questionare and handed it in to reception already, maybe a small bottle of wine 300mls instead of a bottle 750 mls as I was alone
I liked the hotel because it was comfortable, at a good location and had friendly, happy staff.
The location of the hotel was good for city shopping, and the Staff were friendly and obliging in regards our baggage, and assistance with Taxi's We chose to stay in a Smoking Room, however, never realised that this meant you could actually smoke in the room, we found the smell to be offensive (even to us as smokers). We assumed that Smokers Room, meant you had access to a balcony outside the floor to smoke. So if you can handle the strong smell of smoke you will be happy in this type of room.
Excellent, professional, & quick response to complaint. Walls seem to be too thin! Or, at least need better soundproofing...
It is centrally located in Brisbane. There are no parking facilities for this hotel and it uses Hotel Mercure's, a bit of a pain to get to because of traffic patterns.
The bed was comfortable The parking was really bad and having to pay $51.00 for less than 24 hours is rediculous
it was close to the casino and mall in the CBD we had to pay a security deposit upon arrival which we didnt know about and didnt have. the hotel worked out something for us though so we could stay. it would have been nice to have been made aware of this either by the ibis diectly or through your company.
It was comfortable and close to southbank
Close to the city Having to pay for parking in a seperate parking lot and having the parking ticket expire after 24hrs.
Location and quietness Mould on tiles in bathroom and a dirty light switch in the bathroom. Pillows were too hard
hotel was better than expected.Room was ready when we arrived early in the morning, central to most attractionsetc, staff polite and friendly. no faults
The room was very clean and well fitted out. The bed was very comfortable, with comfortable pillows. The reception staff, concierge and valet parking attendants were all very friendly and very helpful. It is also located very centrally in Brisbane city. We were unable to have a twin bed room which meant my sister and I had to share a bed - not too much of a problem but would have been nice to have our own bed.
Convenient location, easy to find, comfortable bed. Kind and competent staff, especially as they could not find my reservation. Small window, small bathroom with curtain for the shower
close to town. one person was friendly, the other said i cant have been staying as my booking wasnt in the system!!! even though my friend had already checked in it was in the middle of redecoration. tiny as bathroom and smal room. for what we paid newaz
Staff , very helpful , especially conceirage and reception. dining , transportation services The cost is slightly higher compare to other hotels.
Location was great - very close to city, restaurants and transport options. Chose this hotel for its pool which upon arrival was found to be closed for renovations. Roof top bar was packed with people from a function that had finished downstairs so not a place to relax and unwind. Rooms are adequate but could do with some of the renovations that the pool is supposably having.
convenience for getting around city asked for king bed and did not get it
i can say the location of the hotel is excellent for city tourists, with convenient transportation, close to everything.
location inflexibility and mechanical (robots). Charges for anything which in most 4-5 start hotels are usually included eg later checkout (1hour).
Location-Location-Location: this was a fantastic place for ease of accessing CBD Brisbane as well as transportation. Easy walk to great restaurants and shops, too.
so convenient, comfortable, quiet, pleasant environment
cold breakfasts delivered to room
Enjoyed the modern rooms and service was excellent. Nil
Quality of room and proximity to everything. TV was only really working for two channels.
The location. The no smoking rules......
I was very happy with location, the entrance lounge and the availability of food at the Hotel. Pleasant rooms well presented. Absolute value for money. No
The location was fantastic. I wished that the rooms had been a touch larger. But the location was fantastic. The room was clean and tidy. T No complaint.
Close to everything in CBD. Good restaurant. Reception staff not helpful or welcoming. No clear directions on parking. Bin in bathroom not emptied.
Location and easy access for transport shops eating places and the city atmosphere plus helpful staff
Location is fantastic and value for money.
Visiting a medical specialist and just walking and shopping around the city.
convinient transportation to everywhere a bit cold when stay in the hotel
The proximity to the city was great and as we were only overnighting the fact that the price included breakfast was wonderful Looking at a brick wall through the window.
Very comfortable and excellent location for what we wanted. The room service wasn't up to standard.
The room was fantstic. Very modern and very clean.
The saltwater pool. The street was quite loud and we felt it was overpriced compared to other places we have stayed. We also felt that the hotel could use a few more updates(popcorn ceiling).
The size of the room. The sheets were crisp and the pillows and mattress perfect. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel lifts use a key card - but new arrivals were not told this - and we saw many frustrated people unable to use the lifts - front of house staff should explain this to guests.
good location, friendly and helpful staff Cleanliness of bathroom was poor, mouldy tiles and mould around glass door of shower
convenience to medical facilities on wickham terrace car parking facilities very hard to manouvre
Friendly staff. Great roof top bar, Comfy bed The car park is vey tight and difficult to manouvre around without 100% concentration
The "Urben perks" package is excellent value-for-money for families in this current climate. The hotel is ideally situated near the cbd and is easily accessible to Southbank. No.
Proximity to Staff Christmas Party - 3 floors above! Plus - My husband and I stayed there exactly 29 years ago on the night we were married Check in staff - 3 male - all very officious / not one smile out of three of them / Very unpleasant people/ They had no customer service skills/ Not a good first impression of your Hotel
The staff were superb. The bed wonderful. The buffet breakfeast was very good.
We found , the hotel , and the staff to be of a very high standard. Well stocked mini bar for our late arrival. Only let down on 2 issues ; poor quality toilet paper , and no complimentary biscuit with the tea/coffee . Am sure these are great cost saving ideas ,but , they take the shine off a great effort on all other fronts.
The room and staff were lovely. Breakfast was great.
the staff were all so friendly and helpful everything was so clean and new no complaints
Convenient to city centre and Central Station overpriced breakfast
I loved the beds, comfortable mattresses, lovely pillows, cozy duvets. They do not serve decaf coffee in the buffet breakfast. If you want one you have to pay.
The bed was very comfortable I booked a king bed, and we ended up with twin beds. Too tired to bother changing rooms, so we kept the twin beds.
bathroom is good and the car park is big too expensive
Most enjoyable in all ways - Friendly staff - Clean Room with plenty of room with modern Bathroom - Good position in the city - Close to main Railway station - Taxis waiting out the front - Direct route to Airport - Good Restaurants on the river within a 10 minute walk - Would defintely stay there again No
Thought there would be bigger rooms. Thought it would nicer for the price for an ex room
Had booked the room seveal months ago and when we asked for an upgrade , got it with a smile from the desk clerk.
Location, comfortable well equiped apartment. Very quiet. This is the second time I have stayed at North Quay and will return.
Rooms are exactly as the photos portray. Service was good. Staff were helpful. Great value for money stay and river views were lovely. The bathroom in the afternoon was very hot, could do with blinds or something to keep afternoon sun out.
roomy apartment, good value at 145 $, not at the 'official' rate og 200+$ cutlery, plates were not all clean
The location of hotel was great and the staff were very helpful Our bathroom door was not closing (it was off the runners) and no one could fix it.
The apartment was excellent. It was spacious and very comfortable with all the requirements for a short stay. Views superb. Service and food in the restaurant both good.
The view from the 23rd storey was awesome and its only a short walk to Queen st mall from the hotel, which is really convenient. The staff were negligent to our complaints about the faulty lights, which included the ceiling light dangling by just a cable. We were afraid that it would fall off the ceiling and thus alerted the reception immediately in the morning but nothing was being done.
Spaciouness of the suite and been able to set the A/C to how we liked it. Bit disappointed the spa didn't work - but it was not a hassel.
The location and the fact that I had asked for a view of the river if possible and actually got a room with a view of the river! The one bedroom flat was well set up and I enjoyed my stay. I will return when in Brisbane!
I stayed in room 216 on the 21st floor and had therefore a stunning view of the city and the Brisbane River. Corridors seemed dark an not well maintained. Plus there was some expired milk in the fridge (March 2009).
Yes. The airconditioning fan was cold and the heater did not work, so switched off the fan. Told reception. No fresh air was available. Toilet door jammed shut, told reception and they arranged help to get it open again.
