Good room and excellent staff throughout Room could have been a little warmer and breakast is usual mass catering stuff
Staff pleasant& helpful, heath centre facilities excellent, room clean, breakfast, no one could ask for more !! overall would have no reservations in recommending this hotel to family - friends Never stayed at a hotel before where I had to pay car park fee, if car park was small, could maybe understand, but this is huge, ...£5 to park overnight as a resident is not in my opinion good practise or necessary!
Good hotel, good service. Room service is expensive.
Hotel was very welcoming. Room was excellent, and the staff were very polite and helpfull. Shower was not very good. The hair dryer was very poor.
Location suited my needs. I chose this hotel based on the leisure facilities. Parking procedure confusing. Room not as described.
Room in good order Bar was very noisy.
the breakfast was very good , plenty to choose from and of a good quality. the reception staff were also good. the bed was not up to the standard of the premier inn one we had stayed in the previous night.. the vanity basin was cracked.
I needed a break regardless and i would stay there again. I enjoyed the swimming pool, until someone spat snot in there. Absolutely disgusting. I think it has put me off swimming pools for life. I liked the steam room and gym. The hallways always noisy with kids, but you have to accept that and the bath wasn't as good standard.
Room, Service, Breakfast
The room was ok but everything else was below standard, we couldn't get room service as no one answered the phone and breakfast was appalling, we couldn't eat in the restaurant as it was full and eat in a make do second restaurant which made a little chef look luxurious. The staff were unhelpful and the food was shocking. See above, we paid for a luxury room and left feeling thoroughly let down and ripped off
Accommodation and spacious restaurant and lounge bar are very pleasant. Food was excellent and service unobtrusive yet efficient. We liked the decor and my husband - a retired architect - appreciated the neat finishes.
Excellent food and wine at dinner and very friendly helpful staff who seemed to go out of their way to help even when understaffed (Saturday lunch) fairly awful coffee which was a shame as the rest of the breakfast was good!
The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. This is not a serious matter - breakfast service could be improved.
Papaer that I ordered didn't arrive and the TV could only get ITV channels. I did mention this to recpetion and I was told that people have been working on the transmitter for the past week and it was all through the hotel, a note at recption might of been nice............this was my second time of staying ad I would stay again
There is still building work ongoing and I was disappointed that I was not able to have a hot shower on my arrival at my room on the evening of my stay - my colleagues who were on my block booking also suffered, I presume it was with the aforementioned building work
Romm was small but ideal for one or two nights. Check in and out was quick and efficient some aspects of the hotel like the bar, restaurant need upgradign simialr to the recption area and rooms. Some corridors leading to the rooms were worn and shabby
It's location was my primary reason for booking here. 5th November and access road closed but that wasn't the hotels fault. Also, I needed to change my room key on two occasions as it would not work. The second time was very inconvenient.
water pressure of shower room was dusty, bath tiles dirty with mould, breakfast in room was cold at 7am ! and limited choice of food menu in restaruant and bar snacks. Main restaurant being refurbished at time of visit.
A nice hotel we will go again booked direct by phone Active h got my name wrong and the hotel could not find our booking details which in some circumstances could have been a disaster !
For its location yes the room was very cold
What I would have expected
staff were pleasant, convenient location for my meeting, rooms comfortable and no cleanliness issues.
good value for money. i find it even better than others that costs more.
1 Good suroundings 2 there was no hot water on the first night. When I complained they listened and chnaged my room. The duty manager was very helpful. The bar food and the attitude of the staff serving: 1 They brought two courses of hot food together, when I asked them to keep the main course warm while I ate the starter, they said they were too busy. I complained to the duty manager and she also thought it was ok! to serve two hot courses together and said they were busy. The attitude from the serving staff, was very take it or leave it. On the second night I went out for a meal, which frankly was inconvenient.
All the staff were very friendly. The bar was not well stocked, not very warm, and not very comfortable. The wifi didn't work.
Too quiet no sky TV
Although I was only there for an overnight stay, I was very impressed with all of the staff that I had contact with! They were very friendly and efficient! Nothing.
Hotel adequate for short stay. Location excellent for our needs Unfortunately heater set on fire in room but staff moved us to another room, but no heating in this room. Staff very helpful.
easy to get to. Food good. Most staff bright and helpful. The hotel may be in the middle of a face lift. Although the room was clean - the decor - bathroom etc needed some attention and the entrance and stairs (which could be quite impressive) need decorating.
The friendliness of staff and value for money, it is in a transition period & I would expect it to be even better in the future. This is not a dislike but I would have liked it more if it had a makeover!
breakfast the room wasnt cleaned ready for when we got there.
Friendly and helpful staff Everything else
pool facilities food at the golf club bar was very poor indeed.
Light and airy dining room Buffet breakfast had been standing too long, resulting in badly overcooked bacon and blackpudding
Excellent staff, great leisure facility, good food, just south of M42 with easy access, but before you book using Booking.com phone the hotel for a dinner bed & breakfast price which makes this hotel even more attractive for a short stay.
The spa treatment was fantastic. The leisure facilities were good and very relaxing. Breakfast excellent. The bathroom could have been cleaner.
the setting and the lovely pool we were firstly put by mistake in a double room which was large and warm and had tea making fac. When we were moved to the twin it was freezing had no tea fac. it was smaller and didnt feel like it was in use regularly. that was disappointing as we booked a twin so they should have had it ready.
The restaurant, good food and some good service But spoiled by weak service standards and bad liaison between chef and foh Making promises they didn't keep. No bath robes, no wifi no action on any of a number of issues like this that were raised with reception.
Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast variety. Lovely location. No extending shower head to wash hair.
Very polite staff, excellent breakfast
Staff were faultless and always very helpful. Very good leisure facilities and breakfast was top class. Children's menu could be larger.
The location for what we wanted was perfect, the hotel was very clean and confortable and the staff were friendly and pleasant.I would stay here again.
the room parking charge
Nice, modern and clean Being charged to park the car
Friendliness of the staff the fact that there were no cooked breakfasts
Everything was excellent, from the friendly staff to the clean, comfortable room.
excellent staff, cleanliness and atmosphere
The bed was not comfortable but apart from that we had an enjoyable stay and will come back
The staff were very polite The Bed was terrible! and we ended up using the put me up bed and moved our Daughter to the said Bed however got off to sleep at 4.00pm
very functional and with a good rate. no restaurant.
Very clean comfortable rooms
Good location, freindly and knowledgeable staff. Very clean hotel. Nothing negative to report on
The hotel was in lovely settings looked welcoming, and was Nothing to put in this box while on our stay
Good location. Good ambiance.good breakfast. Prices of Cavery Meals seemed a liitle high.
A grand looking building but don't be fooled!! I stay in hotels 2-3 times a week and this has to be the worst I have stayed in for years. Rooms are shabby, carpets dirty, beds old and uncomfortable.....it's a relic from the 70's!! Even the bathrooms have old, stained carpets in them. The restaurant is awful....a really poor carvery with no other choices and the decor is like a motorway service station from 30 years ago. This hotel is listed as 4*. It's not....you will get better facilities and more comfort at a Travel Lodge. Avoid at all costs.
Cleanliness of room, and hotel in general, was excellent Receptionist could have been more helpful.
The friendliness of the staff from the receptionist to the restaurant waitresses, nothing was too much trouble.
Helpful, friendly staff. Good location close to motorway Very dated room decor - particularly the bathroom (very old looking suite)
Staff excellent, friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was of a good standard, restaurant welcoming. Rooms clean and tidy. Gardens lovely and lit up at night. Rooms need updating, hairdrier poor.
Superb value. great staff. really spectacular building all good
A lovely hotel. Some of the furnishings are in need of replacement but one can overlook this when one considers the exellent value for money. Highly recommended No.
The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Overall very good value for money. Although wifi was available free in the public areas it would have been nice to have had access in the room.
Lovely hotel with fabulous staff
Excellent value for money. Good food at a very reasonable price. We stayed here as a stop-over travelling from Lincoln to South Wales. Much, much better than the motels and travelodges that we have used recently. The walls are a bit thin: you can hear what people are saying in the next room. Thankfully, everyone was very considerate.
Staff very friendly and helpful, Breakfast very good Rooms could do with a bit of soundproofing if you are in a room underneath another
Warm welcome. Very clean spacious room for standard rate. Good value for money. Excellent breakfast. Staff and service were good, lovely relaxed weekend. We were on the ground floor. The noise from the room above was loud ! Sounded like herd of elephants, could hear conversations and snoring !! Definately needs thicker carpet and sound proofing.
We were given a very warm welcome on arrival and were well looked after during our stay. The hotel was beautifully looked after, with real care taken over the decor, atmosphere and service. The hotel grounds give a real country feel even though the hotel is within walking distance of the town centre. The room was large and well decorated and the breakfast was delicious! We would definitely go back.
We where staying whilist my daughter had an operation the hospital told us that she would have to stay an extra day then decided to let her come home after seven oclock that evening the hotel were wonderfull and did not charge us even though they had reserved us a room. None
The food was very good, the staff were very pleasant. We stayed in room 1 & the decor was a little bit 'tired'. It could do with being spruced up a bit, the same with the toilets on the ground floor. The mirror in the alcove was surrounded by cobwebs!
Characterful old building in quiet area just off the main road. Cosy, convivial bar and restaurant . Friendly staff. Some of the bedrooms are rather small.
such a change from the large purpose built chain hotels. excellent value and good old fashioned service.
nice quiet location, very comfortable accomodation.restaurant food is of a high standard and staff are friendly and proffesional hotel is a little worn in places but this is no way detrimental to overall stay
Good food particularly
I liked the setup at the hotel, the relative seclusion of the location and the reasonable privacy of the separate bedroom block. The room way only just warm enough and the heating would benefit from an upgrade. One small electric heater would have been inadequate if the night had been much colder. The traffic noise was intrusive from around 7am to the light sleeper.
Had a clean bed and room was clean Room window was left open so extremely cold. Bathroom fitting infront of mirror made it difficult for my wife to apply makeup.
Generous continental breakfast with very reasonable priced upgrade to full english breakfast. Comfortable bed and both bath and shower in en- suite bathroom Room was a bit cold (it was November) and the heater took a long time to warm up. Restaurant was closed the first night I was there so I had to drive some 3 miles elsewhere to find an evening meal.
Very friendly staff. Lack of any handrail at the bath/shower made it dangerous for use by elderly guests such as myself.
Very impressed with value for money
proximity to main roads, easy to find, affordable for one night stay. check in was a little slow
Clean towels each day and tea and coffee replenished daily
Clean,tidy,room,comfy bed,good shower,friendly staff,and a cracking breakfast
Bar, reception area was good. Rooms were comfortable. Shutters are an excellent idea. TV did not work.
The hotel was friendly, clean and comfortable. Well situated for visiting friends
Being able to go from our room to the dining room without going outside into the freezing cold! Noise of other people going along the corridors and talking in the early hours and the beds were so hard!
Man on Night Reception was extremely helpful and very curteous The cooked Breakfast took over 20 minutes to arrive, and when it did the scrambled eggs were over-cooked, the tomato was of poor quality, I was under the impression that it was supposed to be a fast service!
The staff were excellent, very helpful & friendly. The food was also excellent in the Brewers Fayre. Lots of stairs, had to get a member of staff to let me through to the restaurant to avoid stairs. They were very happy to do it, but felt I was imposing on them.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us as we had arrived at 11.15pm
All contacts with staff were good. Especially so the receptionists. I can appreciate you wanting to look 'green' but do bear in mind that some people wish to relax on the bed and read with decent illumination. You can't do that with the available lighting, only place being the desk, sitting on a hard chair
The bed was extremely hard and the pillows were very uncomfortable - I woke up on the hour every hour - it was liking sleeping on a balloon
The bedroom and bathroom were clean and fresh. Breakfast was the usual good standard and the staff were very pleasant. The room allocated to me in the hotel was over the bar of the pub which is part of the hotel and which did not turn off the music until midnight and the light outside the room, (very bright yellow) was turn off at about 1am. The bed was very hard with little comfort. I had a ver poor night,s sleep, certainly the worst I have experienced at a Premier Inn. I recommend to anyone else that yu request a room at the back of the hotel which may be quieter.
