Friendliness of staff Noise of room along the main road
Breakfast was good, bar and restaurant staff were very helpful. paying for internet, TV, etc. Too expensive for a no frills hotel.
The fact that it was clean, central and staff pleasant and helpful I had to ask for a kettle and tea/coffee, usually they are in room already. The kettle had to be put on the floor as the flex was very short.
nice location. cost is good.
The hotel was excellent, very close to the Keleti station, which was very important to us since we've arrived at 5 AM to Budapest. The staff was so kind to let us check in at 10 AM on the first day, and even though check out time is 11 AM, we were allowed to stay until 2 PM on the last day. The people at the reception desk were also very very helpful with info about Budapest and everything else.
Everything was well organized. Staff and other guests were very friendly. Free glass of champagne was nice gesture of welcome. The computer passed on a virus to my camera card, which has been difficult to repair while being on the road on vacation.
poor service. rude staff. rooms cold and uncomfortable. does not live up to 4star expectations
Pretty comfortable. Very good food. Some of the staff are very snub, they aren't very attentive, the rooms have no view other than the garden or the dusty streets, very bad area of the town.
services small restaurant with only two tables in the smoking area. the hotel has 499 rooms and only around 10-15 tables in the restaurant for the lunch and dinner
location, quiet room, excellent breakfast
The location. The rooms are small.
Good comunications by bus. Clean, confortable. Quiet neigborhood. Small room and bathroom. We were on 4th floor and it was really noisy when the window was open, I think it was because of air-conditioning (It was quiet with closed window)
Relatively central, good value for money, bar was good, access at all times of the day was good
We had trouble with the checkin
some staff very friendly eg cleaners and one receptionist. nice room, good cafe one receptionist and one barman rude and unhelpful, was stag party at hotel very noisy until 5am they were asked to be quieter but did not and nothing was done
It was located next to the main metro station. It makes the transport over the city and sightseeing very easy. Noisy graous of gasts at that time (during breakfest) - maybe from Israel - but I think that even hotel emplooyes and waiters were tired wiuth that group.
The location is good, close to the subway and tram stops (Budapest urban transportation is excellent) Expensive optionals: wifi (10 euros/day), breakfast (14 euros/day). Holes on towels, low quality of toilet paper. Hotel could be much better managed.
nice room view and location
Friendly helpful staff, most of whom could speak good English. A bit further away from town than I expected. This was not made clear when I made the reservation.
Very near metro. Nice room with facilities very nice. Bar/food basic.
Wireless Internet. Walking distance from the Keleti station. Nice staff. The pillows were too thick. The toilet had a tolerable but weird odor. Windows were not sound-proof (ear plugs needed for sleeping). No metro station nearby.
helpful staff, poor breakfast, bathroom not too clean, conveniet for Kelety railway station
For the price at the time, the hotel was very good. The location isn't great but there are plenty of things close by if you are willing to walk for 10-30 minutes. And Budapest just has so much to see that walking was always an option. In 30 minutes (perhaps a bit less), you can be in the middle of downtown where it's all happening. The metro/train station (hopefully it isn't shut down due to the immigration thing anymore, I was there a week before the craziness started) is like a 7 minute walk away. Then you can get to anywhere if you are not a walker. But there's also many things within closer walking distance to keep you occupied. The free WiFi was terrible. Couldn't connect in the room. I had to sit in the lobby and even then it wasn't too fast. The only soap for both the sink and shower was a soap dispenser on the wall in the shower like in a public bathroom. The air conditioning was decent but you can control it. It needed to be colder. Free breakfast was so so. But at least free.
I like the friendly and helpfull staff, location, internet. There are not parking. They are not too persistent about smoking rules. They took the price of the first night from my credit card 4 or 5 days before.
Very friendly and helpful staff, good location, value for money, a walking distance from the beautiful Szechenyi bath. The shower was mouldy and our first floor room smelled like mildew. The "juice" at (otherwise nice) breakfast was rather disgusting and watery.
Good breakfast, nice service, helpfull staff. No computer on the ground floor for internet even though it is free.
The hotel staff is very kind and helpful.
Quite convenient location The internet wifi sometimes drops connections
convenience of lacation, english speaking staff
big room. great location near Keleti. nice and helpful staff. good breakfest.
Room is clean and breakfast is good. It is quite far away from the metro and train station. The area is quiet at night. Single lady traveler has to beware of it.
The reception staff were very helpful and convenience to the station was good The quality of the linen and towels was poor. There were no facilities in the room to make a cup of tea or coffee. The carpet needed a very thorough cleaning
It was closed to the railway Station Budapest keleti, staff quite nice, secure Phonic isolation not too good.
All the staff here are excellent, very helpfull and all seem to speak perfect English.
just opposite keleti station, nice building, comfortable rooms, good for the price nothing worth bothering much
The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Spacious and clear room.
Close to the Station.
The facilities and friendly staff.
Near to city centre, pleasant staff and atmosphere Missing parking place by the hotel to be able to park here for 30 minutes to take the baggage from the car.
Well located, clean, efficiently run hotel offering a very good breakfast - represents very good value for money. Staff were professional and friendly. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. No
The room was clean and homely. It is a good option for a centric (20 min to the river on foot) and affordable hotel in Budapest The staff should warn the newcomers about the private taxi "sharks" in Budapest. The hotel does not have its own garage and the public one they recommend is kinda scary...
breakfast, location the staff
this hotel is located in a rather downmarket location with lots of graffiti around although not far to walk to the city centre The reception is quite plush but our room was VERY basic quality of our room
The location. 1) Most rooms have the view and the access on a narrow inner courtyard. Nobody of the staff tell you about this terrible solution. This room are even very small. We strongly asked for a better room and finally we get it. 2) the price is too high for this kind of hotel.
airconditioning in room
beds are very comfortable breakfast was bad, given that cost 10 euros
The location and the nice staff who were very helpful
It is a good Hotel in Budapest None
When we arrived to the hotel, they said that there is no room for us and we have to go to another hotel called “Amber”. On our protests they simply mentioned “we don’t care” while on our questions “what shall we do if we don’t like “Amber” we received very “helpful” answer “come tomorrow and talk to our manager”. I suppose it is quite ridiculous.
The room was nice, with a comfortable bed and AC, and it was well located for exploring the 7th District and Budapest in general. The room wasn't as well kept as it might have been, and there was no furniture in which to unpack. Also - the hotel is advertised as a kosher hotel, but it isn't really. Breakfast is included, but kosher breakfast is extra, which I felt was not explained clearly before I booked.
The personnel was approachable and english speaking including a security guard. Very convenient location in the centre of the city. In the vicinity of the hotel there is a lot of marks that regular residents live in that part of the city.
no internet conection even with the help of hotel's staf
Everything. Most of all the helping polite friendly staf To leave......
excellent hotel, staff lovely, couldnt do enough for you no
Really happy with everything
location, look, big room, spa, parking, good breakfast, hotel staff, not noisy just one tinny soap in bathroom :). Everithing else was pretty good.
Location and spacious rooms. Good value for the money. Not really a 5* hotel with suites, more like good apartment hotel***. If you are looking 5* luxury, it's not a place for you.
the rooms were clean and comfortable. the elevatorsecond weren't frenzy located. the breakfast was expensive relatively
parking, very comfortable quiet suite, good breakfast, nice swimming pool we got bathrobes when we asked for them, crowdy breakfast room, entrance of spa area is not designed good - there is no place to change your cloth
Everything about our stay was fantastic. The free wifi connections was very good and the staff were all very professional. Ten out of ten. I feel breakfast could have been included in the price.
Staff were extremely friendly. Hotel was beautiful with a lovely spa. The hotel is not very big which we felt was a bonus, it meant we got a very personal touch.
All attendants were very friendly and help us with any problems. My mother does not like the location because it was not a touristic street. It was a little bit terrible in the night.
Comfortable and clean
design of the hotel comfort cooling did not work at all, people watched me through the window from the external corridor, canteen was always overcrouded, caffee was permanently missing in the canteen during the breakfest.
clean, near the city center, good stuff very small rooms, very noisy due to bad proof, uncomfortable bed
Very favourable promotional offer. Very new hotel in well-served area near underground (2 stops to city centre). Young, friendly, helpful service staff. Plentiful breackfast. Too small not very cleaned standard rooms. Bathroom without curtain for the night; glass door: no privacy and safety. Restaurant: no table linen as you expected in a 4 stars hotel.
The whole staff was very professional, friendly & helpful. The food was good. The hotel's location is very good. The room was too small to accommodate a family of 2 adults, 1 child & 1 infant.
Modern design of furniture, bathroom is excellent,
The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help us. This is a new hotel, which we particularly liked as everything was new and clean. The rooms were very small so wouldn't recommend if you are spending a lot of time in the room, as we did on this occasion due to dental treatment but we would definitely book this hotel again in the future. As the hotel was only opened in August 2008 there were a few teething problems which we had anticipated.
Very friendly and complimentary staff. Very professional too. Cleanliness was second to none. None.
Friendly and helpful staff Small room, not enough selection in breakfast buffet
the location and kindness of staff no internet in the room
Judit, who checked me in, was very generous with city information, suggestions and directions. She should be commended. The staff in general are all attentive and client oriented. The breakfast buffet is quite extensive and tasty. Cafe not opening until 10 a.m. I think you do it to encourage (require) those of us seeking breakfast before that hour to patronize the pricey buffet or room service. I didn't appreciate that requirement.
It was fabulous! We really enjoyed ourseves. The hotel is really stylish.
The day time house cleaning staff needs attention. Our room was not made up either morning of our stay. When informed, the hotel was responsive. The room was beaufiful and the bathroom large and luxurious. The location of hotel was very good. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel.
Like the building and the New York cafe which is situated inside the hotel the pool and spa area is very good as well
The staff was extremely attentive. They remembered details about what i liked into the next day. Everyone was polite and well mannered. The food was delicious and the wine waiter knew his subject. The meal could not have been more perfect. The chef worked with my lactose intolerance and modified the food. n/a
Lobby. Room. Spa. We liked all about this hotel !!!
My wife and I were pleasantly surprised at the size and the comfort of of our bedroom and bath. The service wass very slow, and once they simply forgot what I had requested over the phone, even though we had chosen the top accomodation available at your site ( and at the hotel, we suppose). The lady at the front desk was very impatient to helping us choose the best tour.
Wonderful place to stay. Staff very accommodating. Food great. Atmosphere stunning.
Fantastic renovation with a lot of taste . Superb restaurant , where also the food was of very good level .
Beautiful historic building with lavish features inside and out. No detail overlooked from front desk customer service to house keeping, everyone is friendly, professional and efficient. A well oiled machine that has exceeded our expectations on multiple visits. No complaints, the staff went above and beyond.
Beautiful, luxurious hotel, a real treat, wonderful staff Area wasn't the best
Exceptional staff at this hotel. Gracious, polite, helpful, cheerful. A delight in every way.
The Hotel staff made us feel very welcome and were very helpful.
The people were very nice, polite and very helpful We were able to extend checkout to better match our flights Very helpful with tourist information, transfers, and taxis Had a simple breakfast, but coffee, tea, fruit, water, was available all day and included in the price
The staff was very helpful and the room was clean every day.We were satisfied from breakfast and the hotel was in a great location.
Comfortable hotel. Good location.
Only thing positive about this hotel is location. This is not a 4 star hotel. Probably not even a good 3 star hotel either. I booked 3 rooms for 5 nights each, so I can say that I've experienced the hotel. When we all checked in, one of the rooms smelled like sewage so they changed that room immediately. The pictures were probably taken years ago and our furniture did not match in style or anything to what it advertises itself as. My bathroom floor had mold growing on it underneath the open sink. The shower had dark grime in all the tiles. They provide no bar soap for anything- only crappy dispensers in the shower and at the sink. Which were either empty or impossible to get soap out of. Two of the three rooms had broken shower caddy attachments in the shower and couldn't hold anything up. One room had a broken shower head that would only lock in at shoulder height. The first floor rooms aren't close enough to the router so don't expect to have wifi in your room if on that floor. The included breakfast is cold and they do not refresh it throughout the morning. If you expect to get maid service everyday, you will be disappointed. Even if you put the sign on the door. When the maid does come, she changes the towels and makes the bed. Absolutely nothing more. Not even exchange the dirty glasses in the room or empty the trash. After two nights, I called the booking source and asked what my options were. They talked with management who denied us the option to refund the remaining days on our stay so we could go to a decent hotel. After that was denied, I also went and tried to speak to the manager about the issues. We stayed three more nights and nothing ever improved. I travel frequently for work and pleasure and have reasonable expectations for hotels of certain star ratings and prices. This hotel was a 2-2.5 at best and maybe worth $70/night. Nothing more. I will never stay at a best western again. They chose not to stand behind their product when a customer had serious issues.
the staff, excellant breakfast closeness to centre of town, spacious room
central location, quiet area
its location.its handy for everything. only had one pillow per person.asked for more and didn,t get any.
Nice big room.Lift.Helpfull reception. English speaking. Walking distance from city. Towels were a bit small.
Hotel was close to the central area. Did not really feel 4 star to be honest, but was nice enough stay.
Very helpfull and friendly staff! close to the centre, clean rooms superior double room is like a normal double room
Proximity to shopping, restaurants and major attractions, everything within walking distance.
The location was great - right in the center of the city. The rooms were also very clean and well kept. Free Internet was very nice as opposed to some hotels where you must pay for it. Staff was friendly, helpful and very welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay everything was fine
Wonderful, helpful, accommodating staff.
Awesome breakfast, friendly staff, big room, clean shower and bathroom, free wine on arrival. No
Excellent room, very clean and comfortable and fantastic shower! very good location, walking distance from all the important sites, very helpful and nice staff, free coffee and tea anytime you want!!!very comfortable beds and free wifi! If you are travelling by car, there is a problem to find a free parking place considering that the hotel is right in the centre the paid parking is quite expensive. Would be nice if the hotel had a parking space.
Very helpful staff at reception who find out information on the internet for you and print out opening times, prices, etc. Very convenient central location, safe, clean, comfortable and warm in winter. The complicated access (courtyard, lift/stairs, then corridor) and somewhat shabby staircase to the entrance makes you initially sceptical, but the welcoming staff and clean, comfortable rooms and nice shower/toilet make this hotel good value for money. No dining room - breakfast is served in your room. No lounge or communal seating areas, so socialising in the coffee-houses nearby instead.
Friendly staff, wif-fi, air condition operational and regulated by client - first encountered after 6-7 hotels and apartments visited in Budapest..huge pro! All cool! Fridge not included in amenities of room, and above all screen size of tv that is too small for the room Breakfast subcontracted to Boccadillo café could have been better. Sandwich maybe ok for some but a brioche, fruits or cereals are indispensable. I would propose to cancel this service and reduce price instead as the café has only 2 youngsters working that are dead slow - do not get me wrong wonderful people but still inefficiently run business and service.
I liked everything. The hotel is located in one of the best places. The staff is helpful. What is most important for me the rooms are very clean and bright.
Price, location and staff were excellent. Facilities were nice too. Everything was new and very clean. For the city centre of Budapest, you cannot beat this. Very satisfied.
very friendly staff, do anything for you. room was to small for two people,
The location couldn't have been better. It's easy to find if you read carefully the instructions to go there.
The shutters on the rooms did not work properlyOther then that the hotel was fine
easy to find and close to tram and metro.
Good location, good staff bad breakfast bad security
No comfortable chair to sit in. Poor selection of tv chanells - only one in english Euro Sport.
Firstly, the reception staff were extremely helpful, answering every and all questions. They even allowed for us to check in and without hassle. The location of the hotel isn't too far away from the metro and there are a lot of restaurants around the area. The elevator wasn't working so we had to carry a heavy bag up several flights of steps to the fourth floor which doesn't sound like a lot but trust me, the steps were continuous. The room smelled like the washroom for some reason, the beds were small, the lights were way too bright and overall, both the fixtures and furniture were very obviously - some even broken.
Big spacious and light rooms, excellent location for sightseeing (only 15 minutes walking to the center), Breakfast was poor for 3 stars hotel
Hotel Location there was no English TV channels, and minibar was not attractive.
Pleasant old building, centrally located, large room Small bed in the twin room
We stayed in a triple room, which was nice and spacious enough and very quiet. We were also satisfied with the hotel's location (10 minutes from the Oktogon subway station and within walking distance from the main city sights). We would especially like to mention the breakfast, which was truly great (different kinds of fried eggs, sausages, fruit and vegetables, cereals, jams, cheese etc.) The hotel's infrastructure is rather old, and so are the facilities in the room. For example, some of the lamps in the room didn't work and were replaced only after the weekend.
Very central. Rooms neat. Just the bare basics provided. Tour group in occupied breakfast room in the mornings which made it difficult to find a table. Had to wait for coffee and food after they have helped themselves. I was on the 5th floor. My bath has not been cleaned for three days although I reported it.
It was close to the metro station It is not a hotel there are some rooms around a courtyard in a building, the other floors of the building are apartments for local people. The elevator and main entrance of the building are horrible. I cannot be a *** Hotel
Roomy, with modern furniture and bathroom, one flight up by elevator. Quiet with window looking out at classic courtyard. TV,airconditioner, safe, large closet. Very helpful and pleasant reception person.. I was given keys and code number for entry, 10 steps from Metro exit. No table and chair or luggage bench, although there is room and wall plugs installed
The location is excellent being central and literally right next to the metro station and across the street from the trams. There are also a few cheap restaurants nearby. The staff was very kind. Having a good location also meant a lot of noise. There are a few bars down a side street and being next to the metro means you will hear a lot of drunk and loud people during the night.
All the staff spoke very good English, which was more than I had expected. None really; we received no clean towels during our stay, but we didn't ask for them either! If we had I'm sure they would have been provided.
near metro and train station noise in the street
The staff was very helpful. The location of the hotel was very good if you want to be close to Keleti train station. Also it has very good price. My room it has not such a good sound isolation from the street trafic.
Receptionist is friendly and helpful
Rooms are clean and the hotel is close to the centre, underground just few steps away The receptionist tried to double-cross us when we first came by saying that we will stay in their other building and the other employee will come to pick us up. The other lady came and took us to the other building where we realised that we are not staying in Centroom House but in Mandragora hotel! We did not want to stay in Mandragora and we returned to Centroom House where the first lady gave us finaly the room we book and said that Mandragora is their partner hotel. So be careful, yuo might get something you did not pay for.
I really liked this hotel. The location was excellent and the staff was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and it was exactly as shown on their web page. I recommend it. There was no mini-fridge in the room. If it is not possible for each room to have one, it should be a fridge at the reception.
Room was great. The hotel location is very close to subway that made us easy to wander around.
In the city centre Nearbu Metro, tram and bus station
Position of the hotel, central part of the city, - this is only one thing what is positive in this hotel Non-friendly recepcionists!!! There is no tea pot or any cofee maker in the room, although the hotel has a certificate of European Hospitality. Shower room - you can not open the door in and out without a force. No hear-dryer, no shampor/conditioner - only liwuid soap od low quality. Also, the receptionist refused to bring to the roon a cofee, tea that we aked as a room service. I would never stay in this hotel again.
It's central location. There were no tea making facilities in the room.
the hotel was in the centre so the price was really worth it... the room was really nice and clean the beds were to soft, the staff didnt speak good english and there was no possibility to control the aircondition
Near to the metro station and to the heart of the city a bit noise at midnight due to cars and chattering outside
The hotel it's ok, location good for the prices requested, the rooms are clean. If you want to visit the city and just to have a place to sleep, it is ok. The breakfast was not verry good and verry overrated (8 euro)
A typical IBIS hotel, clean and comfortable.
air conditioning no garbage basket in the room
Nothing to regret, but the awful noisy night I wasn't able to sleep about. The noise of the electric equipments in the back yard of the hotel, that was awful!
Everything was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No bad points
The friendliness of all the hotel staff. The hotel itself convenient to market and shops. Th food in the restaurant was excellent. We had an apartment which was luxurious unfortunately it was over one of the conference rooms and was very noisy one night as there was a party being held. Music did stop at one but a lot of door banging with staff coming and going after that.
The concierge was extremely knowledgeable and resourceful. He was very helpful arranging trips and events for us.
Very helpfull, i got a free checkout for free. nothing
The spa, and the friendly staff The room was quite small, for a 5 star hotel. Location could have been slightly better.
excellent facilities and service no
Hotel was centrally located for sites and public transportation. Staff were very gracious and breakfast ,afternoon tea and evening appitizers were a plus. The air conditioning did not work as well as it should have. However, all other features offset this condition.
beautiful building nicely restored and with very nice details
Excellent customer service! Everyone was very nice and helpful.
The staff were just wonderful and the room was excellent. the whole experience was just wonderful. I transfered to another Budapest 5-star hotel which was part of a tour and the hotel was just not in the same class as the Corinthina. No
staff very friendly and helpful. no complaints whatsoever. Service was excellent.
Really relaxing stay. We could hear noise from the siderooms - was a little bit annoying in the early morning.
Location Room very noisy. Extra charge to use the swimming pool and sauna. Had to pay extra for breakfast.
food from the restaurant locationn
Where to start with the good points??!!! As soon as we walked in we were looked after - cases taken to our room and shown the vital pieces of equipment. The hotel is spotless. The dining room is superb and the staff very friendly and I would recommend it to every type of traveller young or old. go for the revolving door alone. Nothing that I would call bad. if anything we thought the mini bar prices were expenisve - but hey, I'm having to be really picky.
Superiror value for euro spent which exceeded my expectations! I was unable to stay longer.
The hotel staff are really helps, the rooms are comfort, clean and beautiful The pool cost money
The hotel had a beautiful lobby and the rooms were well-equipped and clean. At first blush, the neighborhood seemed quite gritty but upon further exploration, we found some great restaurants and cafes and ended up really liking the location. The standard room we booked was quite cramped with a king-sized bed. Also, the hotel charges an extra fee to use the pool and sauna.
Very nice hotel, first class. Price should include pool use and some breakfast.
Hotel was very clean and modern - loved the decor. Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The hotel provided loads of information on arrival including suggested tours, public transport, recommended restaurants, etc. Only one small complaint and that is that the spa facilities are not really big enough for a hotel of that size. For example, the changing rooms at the wellness centre (pool, sauna, jacuzi etc) would only just squeeze about 4 people in at a time. Only enough sunbeds on the roof terrace for about 8. For a hotel with 200+ rooms - not really big enough and at the end of the day when everyone returns from sightseeing and wants a quick dip in the pool - just not enough room/space.
Breakfast, swimming pool
This was my second stay at this hotel. It was a pleasure to walk into that impressive reception area again, and I also enjoyed sitting in the Gallery bar for some food and drink. Room was again comfortable with a useful laptop-size safe and well-stocked minibar. When you take a shower and discover that the floor is wet don't be surprised. The shower screen hangs on a pivot and there is a 5mm gap between the pivot and the bath itself. Both my rooms were like that, so it's not a one-off.
The staff on the reception was helpful and polite.
The Staff is so professional and amazing, for example I was departing at 3:45 in the morning and the man at the front desk had ordered me a special breakfast to go package, now thats what Im talking about
the design of the rooms was interesting the room was too small, the bathroom had glass walls so you can see everything, the neighborhood was creepy, and the breakfast was poor
Hotel was new, so very clean and fresh. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Internet access was free. Rooms very modern and stylish. Rainfall showers were fantastic - good pressure and plenty of hot water. Supermarket, cashpoints, KFC etc all near the hotel. Safes in room were free of charge. Overall excellent value for money. Location wasn't the best, although only short metro ride to the centre or 30 min walk. Tea/coffee facilities at extra charge. Some rooms only have view of a wall. Have to go onto street to smoke ie no private outside area. I booked a double room but the room i was initially given only had one narrow single bed - i changed rooms to one with a double bed, however if the hotel had been full this would have been a problem.
