Excellent location and great value for money N/A
Everyone is very polite
staff was counter-productive and spoke harshly... the staff in other hotels in eastern europe were slightly friendlier/more professional
great location, walking distance to everywhere. There's also bus station close to the hotel. facilities are pretty old. the room I stayed had very strong smell.
Parking fee of seventeen dollars is steep especially when you are only told at checkout
The staff was awesome at helping to answer our many tourist questions and point us in the direction of the best stuff to visit. On the 24th everything in the city closes very early which we didn't realize, but one of the front desk staff went out of his way to figure out what restaurants near by we're still opened. They also placed us in a room that was very easy to let our dog out to go to the bathroom. Breakfast is very good! Location is perfect as well! Defiantly would stay here again! The only tiny thing we thought was off was the hotel bar. Not very busy and the prices were a bit expensive compared to the bars right near the hotel. We used it on Christmas eve though and had a blast, everything is what you make it!!
Very nice hotel located close to the Castle. Easy walk to all around town and to the major landmarks from there.
The rooms were nice and clean The bathroom curtain system leaked a lot, other than that, the baths were good!
Location!!! Breakfast was good. The first staff member who greeted us insisted we needed a printed voucher to check in even though I had the confirmation email on my phone.....he was somewhat rude. We sought help from another reservationist who was very helpful and got us checked in right away. From then on all staff was extremely courteous.
This Hotel was fantastic! Perfect! Walking distance to the bridge and a Hop/On-Off Bus Stop. The view was amazing! The staff was very helpful in providing information about ATM's, restaurants, etc
Very helpful staff, nice design and clean and big room with nice view.
The location could not be beaten. Right in the heart of Budapest (on the Buda side) and on the banks of the Danube. The water pressure in the bathroom sink was so low that it took an age to fill the sink.
The location is perfect for the Duna or Castle view (maybe less for logistics on the night). The room are spacious and clean. Breakfast is too expensive and there's not enough explaination on additional services like sauna and fitness room. You may have to walk in you come back after 11PM as the district is not well served by night buses from city center.
Location. Friendly staff That we got a smojing room without asking for it. Room did not smell. But feelt in the morning like cigarette smoke came from maybe ventilation.
The staff was very helpful in providing information about ATM's, restaurants, etc. Our room was clean and made up very well each day. A tram line runs in front of the hotel and a metro is about a 5 minute walk (or take the tram) from the hotel. A bank, grocery store, and numerous restaurants are within 5 minutes or less. The hotel is located right on the Danube and nearly across from the Parliament building. It is also very easy to get to Castle Hill and via tram or metro to most things in and around the city. There is free internet and pots with tea and coffee in the room. No real complaints, but the bed was a little too hard for my wife but fine for me. I know folks want you to buy there stuff in the in-room refrigerator, but it would be nice if it had a little room to store a sandwich or a bottle of your own pop.
I liked all about this hotel, room was really big and clean, comfort beds. Location was ideal for us, 700 m from uptown and 700 m from downtown
The Hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very efficent and the service slick. Not actually dislike but as such a fuss was made of the 'artistic' side I thought the decor and layout was a bit disapointing and safe.
1. The view: I had the room with Danube River facing Parliament; 2. There is a back door that you can access (exit and enter) using your room key card. This leads you directly to the steps towards the Castle area. Near to the main Metro (Batthyany square), bus and tram lines. 3. The staff at the coffee house/ restaurant (lobby floor) are really friendly and make you feel at home. 4. Wi-Fi speed is good. There are plenty of socket Outlet points for laptop, tablet, phone, iPad, power banks .... And hair dryer! The design of the hotel is well thought-out. Well done! 1. Buffet Breakfast spread: would have expected more for a 4/5 star hotel. 2. The main road from (Batthyány Square) although is lighted up. But there are 'funny characters' and drunks lurking and appearing at darker corners and adjoining smaller streets at night. 3. The underground metro is also full of 'drunks' and homeless screaming and begging for money.
Friendly staff, nice location The exercise room is very small and the equipment is limited
lovely modern contempary hotel promotes smoking. bad stale smell of cigarettes on 6th floor corridor. On Buda side of the city. Most people will want to stay on Pest side of Danube
Very quiet and clean. The bed was super comfortable and the room was well air conditioned. Staff was competent but not friendly At breakfast, the host communicated mainly by gestures and resented any questions. Free WIFI was glacially slow and not really usable.
The location was excellent. The professional attendance by the staff was excellent.
Wonderful location to reach all the sights of Buda by foot. Pest just a short bus ride away. Kettle and small fridge in the room was nice for a quick and very affordable breakfast (grocery just a 2 minute walk away). Comfortable beds and large room. Quick elevators:) Nice gym.
The view is unique!! The breakfast was not at high level as per Hilton reputation
Location is excelent; good services / facilities Not enought chairs / tables for breakfast; they added on my bill something from minibar; old furniture in my room
Nice location in the castle area, breakfast is good, service is OK. Internet access wifi very expensive.
The quality of the room and breakfast. The location is fantastic. No
The location of the hotel was fantastic, in the heart of the beautiful Castle District and with great views of the Danube and Pest. The staff (all spoke English) were excellent and very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone.
clean room, great location near the castle, normal buffet breakfast Not all rooms were renovated
Great View Expensive Internet fee
Staff were attentive and helpful. Noise from major works at Church next door.
The surrounding I would suggest that the owners use the interior court as part of the restaurant. To have breakfast there would be wonderful !
We liked everything. A true 5 star experience. Extremely clean rooms, spacios, designer body lotions and shampoo in the bathroom, location is right in the old city, next to a castle, free parking - which is something rare in Budapest, the staff were extremely accomodating and the restaurant was a palate's delight. Breakfast was included - a la carte ... The only thing I can think could be improved is... Maybe add bath robes. They were missing for some reason...
Perfect stay on Budapest's castle mountain. Excellent location, beautifully furnitured huge roomes, nice and very helpful personal, freshly made breakfast
It's the second time we've stayed there in a short while. As we went to Croatia by car, we stopped in Budapest going and coming back. After the first experience in the hotel, we wanted to return. We booked a larger suite (silver) and when we got there they upgraded us to a gold suite free of charge. That's an upgrade from a 200 euro room to a 500 euro room. I give it an A+ on all counts. Excellent
Heated bathroom floor. Historical location. Quiet. Spacious rooms. Plenty of nice restaurants nearby. Breakfast was limited. Wireless was weak in room 17. No ability to shower, large tub with hand held shower extension but no curtain, difficult to not spray the entire room.
All things werw excellent especialy enterier and stuff No
The fact that the hotel room had a kitchenette allowing us to return to the hotel at lunch time to make sandwiches and have a rest before continuing with sightseeing and also being able to make a hot drink before going to bed. The location was simply superb - convenient for exploring Budapest with good transport links but in a virtually pedestrianised area so there was no traffic noise. A wonderful calm oasis for a city break. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The meal in the hotel restaurant was excellent but took a long time to arrive but they were very busy! The breakfast menu was not as varied as expected for a five star hotel but if you had a special request the staff obliged. The hotel decor was tasteful and elegant but a comfy sofa to relax upon would have been welcome.
spacious room with classic furnitures, complimentary water and wine No elevator
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious, clean and luxurious. The included breakfast was one of the better we had during our 4 week holiday throughout Europe. We also appreciated that the hotel provided free internet. The hotel was in a lovely area, close to many historical sites and attractions. The shower head would have been more convenient for us had it been wall mounted. A further area for development would be to install wireless internet, rather than cable.
Spacious rooms, nice location Breakfast was not up to five star standards
the views at the hotel were brilliant..............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! everything was very good no need for change it was a good pick for my husdands 40th ....!!! we asked for a good room & we got it brilliant :-)
staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Location was great and view from rooms is amazing! the beds were too firm for our bodies but that may just be us.
Wow, great location, sits right on the Danube on the Buda side. Views are fantastic, staff helpful, lots of restaurants nearby, good breakfast. Night life is primarily on the Pest side, but its not too far to walk and/or a taxi is not too expensive.
helpful staff, the view of the room , closeness to historical part, sufficient breakfast. bath tab looked unclean with dirt full corners all around and had very dirty discusting curtains.
The location was perfect and the views across the river Danube superb. Tram and bus stops outside the hotel door gave easy access to everywhere in Budapest. The hotel was exactly as advertised on your website , excellent value for money!
Everything. The location, the view, the room, the staff.
The location is excellent; view over Danube from every room (!), walking distance to almost anywhere, public transport (metro, buses) nearby, tram station in front of the hotel. But the best part of the hotel is the staff; very friendly and helpful. This is a matter of taste, but we found the interior a bit outdated. Still, the overall ambience is cosy and warm (thanks to the staff).
Very nice hotel, good location and great breakfast!
The hotel was in a brilliant location, very central for sight seeing, lovely helpfull staff, and very clean. The only slight draw back was the sound from the trams.
The location Air-condition was not sufficient enough to cool the room, even that the outside temperature was not more than 26 degrees. Lot of traffic noise, even whit the windows closed.
Amenities and furniture in the room were well-thought and met our needs. Coffee and tea in room was good.
Is a new hotel. Parking cost.
Easy to find by car; parking facilities; good location in the city center; good value for money
very satisfactory. Great value for the price. Breakfast was expensive, but I asked room service of small breakfast, which was really good, and the price was moderate(about 8 euros). I recommend it.
The room, the staff who were very nice and extremely helpful and the location
Location is the best. It's very convenient to go to sightseeing.
I was amazed with architecture of this new hotel and how functional it is. Beautiful view at the Parlament building on the other side of Danube. Very good breakfast! We couldn't open windows in our room. No fresh air!
Superior room (no442) with a view of the river was excellent. Staff fantastic. Breakfast wonderful. Location great. Will definitely be back in the summer.
Actualy the hotel lobby was always kind of full of cigarettes smog.
Great staff, perfect English spoken, the local bars were fine for a drink. Sunny Corner restaurant (50m away) was great as well. 20 minute walk to the town of=r use the network. Do the bus tour so you don't miss the view over the city from the citadell.
I drive through Budapest and stay overnight once or twice a year. Previously, it's always been either one of the Hiltons (I trust the brand) and I was happy enough with both. However, I wanted to try something new and, having read excellent reviews of Hotel Castle Garden, decided to give it a try. Well, not just I was not disappointed, but indeed the hotel exceeded my expectations. I found it to be even better than Hiltons, while it cost me less. I paid for a standard room, but was put in a room with a huge deck , which was a free bonus. Overall, it was exceptional value. My wife also beleives the hotel is very elegant. It's a pity we did not get a chance to try their restaurant for dinner, but breakfast there was very good. The only - minor! - inconvenience that comes to mind is how lighting is set up in the bathroom, which made a little difficult for me to shave. Not that there was not enough light by the mirror, just the light coming from behind my back was even stronger, thus creating shadows.
the location to "buda"is excellent .the room big and with all facilities even a kettle to cofey or tea .the staff very friendly. the hotel restorant is excellent the back side facing the city is a leetle beat noisy
The rooms were very clean and exceptionally warm. The walls were thick - so you got a good nights sleep - even if the TV was on in the room next to you, you would not hear it. (I know as my father was in the room next to mine and I could not hear the TV - v imp to me as I am a light sleeper) It might not be a good location for older people who might struggle going up and down the hill to get a tram/tube. If however you are using taxi's this would not be a problem - and taxi's are very cheap and the journey would only be a short one - there are also busses close by.
good location and breakfast
One of the best hotels ever. The staff is amazing! Great attention to details. they really care about customers and the business reputation. the rooms and facilities are state of the art. Besides they have a wonderful restaurant - the waiters love to serve you (you can see style in everything), delicious food and live music. Very close to city center, you can reach it on foot in 15 min or otherwise there is a metro station in 5 min away.
Based under the Buda Castle with an easy 2 - 3 minute walk to this fantastic monument. The hotel service from the staff was generally poor. You always felt as if they were doing things slightly begrudgingly - perhaps a hang over from the Communist past ? On one occasion the room was not made up because the hotel "had a lot of guests departing which was the cleaning staffs main focus" and on arrival, due to a leak which had damaged some rooms we were moved without notice to another hotel for one night. Would recommend this hotel purely for the location.
The location is great, facilities provide great value for the money, first option when I go back in Budapest, realy. Not quite
It is a perfect hotel. Good brekfast. Comfortable room.
big balkon with beautiful view, very comfty bed, everything was perfect
Very nicely located close to the upper castle area within walking distance. Dinner in hotel restaurant was not as special as Wall with blakc spots from suitcases or similar could need some paintings in two rooms we saw, strange cleaning detergent smell in two rooms, one room clearly had a strong smoker smell, addtional payment for sauna, for parking and in particular fo a capoccino instead of strange tasting coffee should be included in the price, dinner in hotel restaurant was not as special as announced and one could expect.
nice calm location, friendly service and clean hotel. breakfast
Location near to transport facilities. New hotel infrastructure. Very good price.
Clean room (we stayed on the executive floor - I don't know if that would make a difference). Helpful staff. Very good location (only three minute walk from the metro). The tram also passes right in front of the hotel.
Very quiet pleasant room with outlook over the old town.Convenient location within walking distance to city.
Great service at reception, easy check in Breakfast was way too expensive for what was offered. Small, inconvenient shower/bath
The reception called me at 1:200 am!!! and it was a mistake....
nice convenient place poor English speaking personel
Helpful front desk staff Location, location, location
Good business class hotel - I was looking for a temporary office for a day!
Great location next to the south railway station, very easy to reach by car and metro. Typical middle class hotel for tourists and business travellers alike. Rooms are clean and comfortable with all the basic luxuries. // Gute Lage gegenüber dem Südbahnhof, mit Auto oder U-Bahn sehr einfach zu erreichen. Normales Mittelklassenhotel für Touristen sowie Geschäftsreisende. Zimmer sind sauber und gut ausgestattet.
The hotel was beautifully decorated and in a great location for us on a fairly uncrowded street. For a European Hotel, they provided an excellent breakfast selection. We had a small problem with the front desk with making restaurant reservation, and ordering a taxit to the airport and had to triple check to make sure everything was done appropriately.
Location made for quiet nights. Good breakfast with varying hot entrees. Proximity to Castle and Museums. Good airport/train tranfers.Andrea most helpful when airline lost luggage! Hard beds! Thin towels! Some of desk staff casual and uninormed about the city and its transportation system.
The Hotel is very clean. The rooms are comfortable, modern and large. The staff are very nice and gave us plenty of information on Budapest.
Quiet location, new hotel, spacious and comfortable room, fabulous buffet breakfast.
The location is very good with easy access by bus 16 to the city. It is very quiet and have many restaurants as well. It could improve by having some seats at the reception area.
nice, big rooms
Our stay at the Buda Castle was very delightful. Romantic scenery, friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast buffet in the garden and very spacious and nice rooms. Also the location was perfect, close to public transport and in the middle of the castle district. We would very much recommend this brand new hotel!
Overall, it was a very nice hotel, small but pleasant with spacious room. The room was very hot, especially the bathroom and we couldn't adjust the heat. The breacfast was poor for a 4star hotel.
Perfectly quiet and peaceful hotel - highly recommendable. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Particularly good that they can book your spa tickets and treatments before you go. Great location with the bus taking you straight into Pest from the stop around the corner.
The rooms are comfortable and large. The no smoking policy makes it excellent to stay in. Breakfast is good. Staff are most helpful. There was nothing we did not like - this is why it is our second stay at The Buda Castle Fashion Hotel.
Adorable boutique hotel with helpful staff and nice restaurant attached. Love our room. The only downside was that the location is somewhat remote since it's at the far end of the Buda castle area. We walked everywhere from the hotel, but it was a healthy (long) walk.
Everything! Fantastic decor, spacious modern room, wonderful staff, great restaurant. Loved everything about Baltazar. No views, but just step outside...
Extraordinary central position on the top of the hill you have breakfast with the stunning view of St. Mathias church. Nice and quiete hotel clean and very good price
Taxi service, someone answering my e-mails, breakfast, courteous and helpful staff, location
I liked the location of the hotel. The staff was also very kind and helpful.
Location and older world charm The only difficult thing was the lack of an elevator, but I understand this could be the nature of having an older hotel.
Scelto in base ai feedback di altri clienti si è dimostrata una scelta azzeccata. Pulito, posizione spettacolare e ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
Location, location, location! The view out our window was the best in Buda & Pest! No!
Situation No elevator
amazing location, tasty breakfast No elevator, but you know that in advance
WIth nicely appointed, clean rooms, luxurious quietness thanks to apparently good sound-deadening, and an unbeatable location the Burg Hotel is an ideal place to stay on the Buda side. Staff is friendly and efficient, the price is very reasonable and it provides a peaceful environment in keeping with the Castle District in which it is. Really I find little to criticise in a hotel that I am frankly surprised isn't particularly well-known because there can be few hotels in a more strategic location offering better value for the money. As I indicate here it's particularly suitable for families given the accommodation type. It will be noted that if what you crave is nightlife and urban attractions it's not immediately in the centre of the action (which is almost entirely on the Pest side) but transport links are superb and make that a non-factor, really - and in any case this is offset by the fact that most of the major tourist sights are immediately to hand. Little to quibble over. WiFi wasn't the fastest possible - this could be a concern if you expect to do a lot of work at the hotel. Pillows are on the soft side for my taste but that's personal and wasn't a major issue in any case.
The hotel is very comfortable, a bit old though. The attractions are very close, one step from the hotel. Perfect location to see Budapest. Nice view while having breakfast. A bit noisy because of the old windows, but the location and the view recompense it.
Location (attending a conference at the Buda Hilton) tiny TV set and only one very basic chair in the room
The staff was very helpful on arrival, with water, wine, and snacks, as well as information about Budapest. The location was quiet, but relatively central to Buda and the Metro. Very large apartment, with comfortable accomodations. Typical challenges associated with being in a very old building. Small lift, and lost hot water briefly, as the boiler went out, but they were responsive to repair it in very few hours.
