I have never had a worse customer service experience. First the date and time i selected to pick up the rental was apparently after the location closed. So I had to come back much later in the evening as they take a 4 hour break in the day. I rented a Prius and the hybrid motor failed as well as the brakes. I spent over 6 hours on the phone over multiple days trying to get a replacement vehicle. At one point they told me to just leave the keys in the car on the street in Brooklyn and someone would come get it. Finally after all this drama and spending 2 of the 6 days i booked not being able to use the car, I was told that I would receive a refund. I’ve yet to receive the refund and have to call their customer service again for the 11th time now. Unless you have an absolute emergency I can’t think of a reason this company would be worth your time.Reviewed Sep 21 2022

About the Kia automobile: The cruise control was lagging a little bit when changing the speed even by one or two mph. The gas mileage was not as good as a Nissan Versa, and poor gas mileage in city driving. Much appreciated the headlights were NOT LED lamps! (Lacking an ambient diffusion, LED lights are very wrong for nighttime driving on rural interstates, creating a real liability.) The Kia was roomy for an economy car and well-designed interior for travel. About the Budget representative at Erie Int Airport: Professional and courteous. Cons:The Kia car was extremely hard to get in and out of, hard to move the front seats and was dented when I got it, so it looked shabby. Budget did not discount it because it was dented, although they certainly would have charged me if I dented it!Reviewed Mar 13 2020

Billed $50 more than quoted pricePros:The car was okay.Cons:This was an extremely frustrating experience for me. I picked up a vehicle, drove 5 miles before stopping at a gas station and when I went to start the car it wouldn't start. I had to wait for a tow and by the time I got back and got a new car three hours had passed. I wasn't able to start my 7 hour journey as planned and I was charged $10 for an extension to keep the vehicle longer. I was also charged a base rate of $153, when I was quoted $112 (included taxes and fees). After additional taxes and fees were added to the $153, the cost was $200 for 24 hours.Reviewed Jul 10 2017
