It was nice hotel, needs refurbished bathrooms. Location is excellent, no need for taxi. Everything is around you within a walking distance, mall, cofe shops, supermarkets, shisha places. cinema, fast food are also cross the road. Only bathrooms needs new fittings.
The meals were good. They will over charge you more than what is quoted on booking.com. I was quoted $347 on booking.com and when I got to the hotel after my very long flight it had become $502. Then they tried to hit me up with some more erroneous charges when I was leaving. I had to refuse all additional charges vehemently. The general manager was standing right across from me trying to get additional fake charges into their system. Just because they print a piece of paper doesn't mean that you have to pay it. Make a fuss if you must. The shower will switch from warm to scalding hot without any notice and back to cold. One day there was no hot water. Also the carpets looked old and dusty/dirty in room 601. I don't know how this hotel gets to belong to a Hilton. Must be the worst hotel I have stayed in forever. Also always lock your room door with the lock bar, otherwise the service staff will walk in on you.
Staff excellant and very helpful. Good location for visit to city centre and cairo museum which is across the road. Nice outdooor heated pool and good selection of restaraunts in hotel. Not a five star hotel as it was clean but dated . the tour group in hotel was very poor and too expensive. Very poor information from office and meal on nile tour the worst meal we have ever had. The egyptian dance and music was very good.
The hotel made a mistake with the booking, but rectified it after some discussion and upgraded the room. It was useful to have the print-out of the original booking with us, as it was disputed.
Waiters at the breakfast room, had no idea about a)1-how to handle a glass 2-to check if the glasses are replaced by clean glasses 3-if the forks are clean. B)everyhwhere at the hotel is smoking(thks god not at the rooms) area.for those who has allergy,it is a real big problem.
Nothing Bad every thing
It was in the centre of a bussing city but was also relaxing The traffic around it
The staff and facilities were all wonderful, very friendly and efficient and I feel it was an excellent place to stay in such cities as Cairo,I was very impressed! My only criticsm was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room.I've stayed at many Hiltons and this is a feature I expected and I feel it would prove to be very popular with most guests, and not expensive to implement.
Breakfast of the hotel was fantasitic!
Excellent service good value great breakfast rec upgrade to executive checkin if avail. Staff top rate, nothing too much trouble.
the ramses hotel is an old the management should renovate it totaly. there are more guests than the hotel staff can handle.specially at lobby area and the garden court.more over the wedding is held at the same place of the lobby area which make the area very unsafe for scaping rout in case of fire.
Staff is very friendly Upon arrival to my room, I found the remainings of hoses in the bathroom. Seems that they have executed repair works but them forgot to clean up.I had the chance to try three of the restaurants in this hotel but non of them offered quality food.
i has in some rooms very nice rever view
The way and the frequent they clean the room is very good , easy to check in and out , fantastic Nile view basically is the best, Staff need to learn how to smile and be happy ,they need to care of the main gate and to organize the drop off area, the waiters in the cafes they just need training.
The hotel is a very good deal; pay a few extra bucks and get the breakfast buffett included in the room and you can't go wrong. The restaurant selection and food awesome. The Nile view from the 11th floor was very nice. The location was about 5 minutes walk to the Museum and maybe 15 minutes walk to the Cairo Tower. There are tours out of the hotel lobby too. I recommend this hotel to anyone going to Cairo! The prices are a little misleading; instead of $200 a night, it was $250 a night with taxes and service charges added in. And it didn't stop there; it was like this at the bars and restaurants as well. I probably wouldn't have minded paying a few extra dollars knowing how much something costs going in, but it seems a little decieptful. Know this going in, and you will at least be prepared - still highly recommend.
Toobusy a place very convenient location Catering staff need to be more attentive ti clients request( sometimes absent minded !!)
The location, the Nile View, the breakfast, the bed and pillows. many things available in the lobby mall, travel agent, bank , ATM machines, bank .. etc ... The Casino, the bar, the disco, should not be there at all.
Location, Location, Location. Good Food. Fabulous View from Nile View windows. Friendly, helpful staff.
design of furunure so comfortale Cleaning of bathroom
The staff was very great and the hotel is nice and clean, but the problem was that compared to other hotels in Cairo which are higher in class and luxury, the price is very high. The swimming pool.
Brilliant location, just out of the hustle and bustle.
Quite . staff , clean room , T.V the bath room didnt have the water hause for cleaning after using the sifoon
Best 4 star hotel in cairo Breakfast not included...
Ideal location, on the nile close to the museum and restaurants/bars. staff very unhelpful. everything we requested involved us asking at least 3 times and waiting at least 1 hour. Pool was supposed to be heated but too cold to use even in the day when the sun was out. Standard of hotel very poor for the price.
central location, walking distance to the Egyptian museum (as previous comments suggest traffic is indeed heavy but if you do as the locals do it is no problem at all getting there), close to metro station, nice roof-top terrace, reception staff friendly and helpful service in the restaurant was poor (had to wait 20 minutes for someone to take my order) even if food itself was good, cleanliness of the room could be improved (changing bed sheets on a daily basis is not the whole deal and not the most important thing), breakfast a bit boring and slightly over-priced for what it offers, tea/coffee/creamer not replenished (had to ask 3 times)
I stayed at the hotel for two nights and the reception staff were not helpfull when asking them about things to do in Cairo. I was refered to the bell boys who i felt were out to rob me. On two occassions i arranged a taxi from the hotel and on both attempts they were trying to swindle money out of me.
Excelent facilities, very well located in the one of the most beatifull part of Cairo, the Gezirah Island in Nile river. Warming and friendly attention from the staff & services team
Location of the hotel was very good, most of major hotes are in the same area, at Nile river. Cleanliness of room can be better, and staff at hotel entrance should be more professional.
Room was clean and air-conditioned. Very disappointing stay, disorganised service, no breakfast box despite asking twice to 2 different memebers of staff, Room did not have an external window, credit card machine not working in the morning- husband had to rush out to get money before we left for the airport and taxi service did not know which terminal to go to. Would not stay here again.
The hotel is centrally located and value for money
We found that the staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful when requesting travel information and they made our time in Cairo very pleasant and comfortable and I would recommend this hotel for this reason. Situated directly accross from the Egyptian Museum it is quite a lively area with western style fast food comforts close by. There is easy access to the metro which is 5mins away after you have carefully navigated your way accross the busy streets. The Nile and Cairo Tower are a pleasant walk away and are nice to do in the evening. Not far from the hotel is the renowned restaurant Felfela which is a great place to try more traditional Egyptian food. No frills hotel, but clean and welcoming environment.
The City View is unique and has a dated charm that makes you feel that you are indeed in Cairo. It is convenient for shopping and close to a 101 places to eat but the best the hotel has to offer is it's staff who are so friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back again. It is noisy but then you can't be in the centre of a city and expect no noise - especially for those prices
Excellent location and also staff were cordial Rooms too small, breakfast not quite adequate
The staff were superb, friendly, and honest. They provided the best service we recieved from every business we interacted with while in Egypt. The rooms need some updating but unlike the 5 star we stayed at for one night, the shower at City View worked.
It is safe, clean and cosy. I would like to come back for my next trip.
The City View Hotel is a very comfortable place to stay in Cairo. It is conveniently located opposite the Egyptian museum and a short walk to restaurants and shopping. The Manager Tiger Lofty and his staff are friendly and helpful at all times. The rooms are comfortable with modern and very clean bathrooms. They are also quite spacious and some have a small balcony. We stayed on two different occasions, once with a balcony and once without. The room without the balcony was a slightly bigger room. The buffet breakfast is very nutritious and includes hot dishes, salads, cheeses, olives, eggs and a variety of different breads and spreads as well as cereal and yoghurt. Each day there is something different on the menu. We had a wonderful stay!
A pleasant surprise. I've stayed in a number of lower-end hotels in downtown Cairo; this was easily the best. As a business traveler, wifi is essential for me, and the signal was strong. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. I'll stay there again.
The room was neat, modern, comfortable, safe. I came from the us via Tunis, to visit an Egyptian friend in Cairo. At the time of booking the hotel online, I observed no notice of the fact that Egyptian nationals are not allowed in the rooms of foreigners. I found this highly inconvenient and upsetting, and this threw a last minute inconvenience in my trip.
Staff spoke English very well, location was safe, internet was ok Towel and toilet paper was not in the room upon check-in. Once I asked it was provided. The window in the bathroom was removed and replaced with a flexible piece of fiberglass wedged into place with strips of rubber molding. For some reason (I think maybe pressure changes in the room and outdoors) the rubber molding came loose and I noticed the fiberglass nearly ready to fall out of the window to the street seven floors below. For safety the staff and I removed the piece (approx 1 meter x 1 meter) to make sure it wouldn't fall to the street below. The room remained this way for the remainder of my stay.
Location is perfect The wifi sucks so bad!
Decent place , good location , the two young receptionists were both excellent... ...but then this happened. We booked a double room with two beds for 5 nitghts. The first 3 we spend in Cairo , then we went to Alexandria for two days only to discover when we got back that there was a single room waiting for us with only one bed.The owner mubbled something about this being the only thing available but i had made the reservations 2 months before . So there you go..anything good i could say about the hotel just doesnt really matter anymore
Staff very nice and efficient. The manager very helpful for information about tours. Good situation for visitng the center of Cairo and shopping. Some rooms on the square are noisy.
trips around the eygiptian antiqueties trafic noise
The owner Bahaa! He's hospitable warm and friendly and knows exactly what to do with the most outrageous of vrequests! Maybe the tour to to Giza. It was very nice overall but could scale up to being a wonderful experience if there was an egyptoligist of reasonably good understanding like the ones in Sakkara.
Great hotel, great location, wonderful people
great hotel for the price. Would definitely recommend the hotel. The owner is a businessman and thus pushes you to purchase his tours and stuff from his shop, but that is the only semi negative.
Visiting the Cairo museum. Visiting churches. No private telephone.
Very convenient location in downtown Cairo, close to the Nile and a short taxi ride from al Khalili. Lots of good shops, cafes and restaurants within easy walking distrance. The hotel occupies one floor in a delightful old building overlooking the Talaat Harb midan and it has a lovely balcony and breakfast room overlooking the heart of downtown Cairo.
The owner ripped us off constantly by charging us for tours, and then we realising that was only his commission also selling us stuff we found out had a 500pc mark up. The owner preys on guests constantly for money. I tour was organised in which we asked for one thing, got another, plus there were hidden costs. We were scared to ask for our money back. He took the payment as a commission which he told us was for everything, when out in the middle of nowhere, there was little we can do. We were also targettedfor money to buy stuff at exorbitant over the top prices.
The room size was sufficient for the price. The manager/owner is available onsite the majority of the time and was extremely helpful whether planning trips or just answering questions. The location is close enough to walk to many of the attractions or a short taxi ride away. A better breakfast selection.
- Staff was amazing and so friendly, we talked for hours and laughed a lot - GREAT city tours offered from the hotel that were a lot of fun like going to Giza and the museums, etc. - Clean rooms with very comfortable beds - Free breakfast - AMAZIG location, just steps away from Tahrir Square - A bit hard to find at night as their hotel sign is not lit up - The ORFI is not accepted here, so my husband and I had to stay in 2 separate rooms
Location is great- very central and easy to taxi to and from. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast was freshly made and good. Hot water, wifi, sat tv, and refrigerator- all at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!
we didnt have hot water in the shower and when we complained it took forever, we waited 2hours to get hot water and even then it wasn't very hot.
Thanks Kareem and Ahmed! They are really very considerate and willing to help us during our stay. We enjoyed the stay very much because of you. Also Sam, the professional tourist guide. We will miss you all! Everything is fine except the entrance looking and elevator.
The hotel is situated in good location, near shopping mall, cinema, macdonald. Internet is free The hotel room does not have tv or refrigerator.
fairly pirced internet on site (6 egyptian pounds/hour), ameanable staff, non smoking hotel would have liked someone to explain the air conditioner remote control, would have liked breakfast to be available until 12, needed more sheets (was a bit cold otherwise)
