very central. good price. we were refused food in the rooftop bar/grill, no proper explanation was given. Other people (egyptians) were being served at the time. Apparantly one of the other customers objected to us being there. Nobody would explain why, we were both respectfully dressed. We assumed that we gave offence just by being european/ western/ infidel? who knows? The incident was very odd.
Hotel sould provide bath room fecilities little more useful. For example, there sould be a bucket and a mug to cater the needs of the far eastern people. The break fast should be better,
very helpful staff, central location
Nice place good location and very helpful friendly people. Very clean. Buffet diner was soso
attention of employees There should be internet service
The loaction is very close to metro stattion. It is easy to go to Miusem and down town for visiting and shopping. The facilities are very old and shown not clear. The aircondition in the room is very noisy, so I have to trun off the aircondition in the night to get sleeping even the it is very hot.
The location was really good and handy for getting about.
I had a pleasant stay at the Happy City Hotel for one week. Very friendly english speaking staff. They can arrange a day trip to the Pyramids or even farther to the South to Saqqara or Dashur with the hotel's english speaking driver and a modern safe car for a reasonable price. At the reception you can deposit valuables in your own number coded safe where a large SLR camera or 10" netback fits in. Only 1 minute walk to the Naigub Metro Station. Only 3rd class fruits at breakfast buffet you wouldn't sell anyone and no real coffee, only instant.
The worst hoterl I have ever stayed in my life time. Everything.
The staff were amazing and we booked 2 full day taxi rides (to Giza and around Cairo) with a great driver named Mohammed through the hotel. The hotel is in a great location and we had a great stay. The staff even gave us a room to rest in after we checked out! We would definitely stay here again!!! The wifi was sometimes slow, but this was standard for Egypt. Also, the mosquito situation was rough in Cairo as a whole, but the staff was well-armed with bug spray and this made our stay mostly big-free!
- Staff was amazing and so friendly, we talked for hours and laughed a lot - GREAT city tours offered from the hotel that were a lot of fun like going to Giza and the museums, etc. - Clean rooms with very comfortable beds - Free breakfast - AMAZIG location, just steps away from Tahrir Square - A bit hard to find at night as their hotel sign is not lit up - The ORFI is not accepted here, so my husband and I had to stay in 2 separate rooms
Location is great- very central and easy to taxi to and from. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast was freshly made and good. Hot water, wifi, sat tv, and refrigerator- all at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!
The staff couldn't be more helpful.Felt very safe and made feel at home.
The staff were amazingly friendly, helpful and genuinely interested in their guests. The location was great and the place was clean and comfortable. For the price it is by far the best hotel I have stayed in.
The hotel has very convenient location, with a famous ice cream shop just downstairs. The hotel is quiet. Rooms are nice and clear. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace, talking with the friendly and helpful staffs.
It is central to downtown Cairo very noisy though but if you want to be close to the hustle and bustle this is the place to be.Great value for money.
very friendly and helpfull personel, cosy atmosphere, nice& fresh decoration shared bathroom very clean, nice location close almost to everything. good organized concerning all my transportations. breakfast was disappointing, noisy neighbourhood (better take earplugs)
fairly pirced internet on site (6 egyptian pounds/hour), ameanable staff, non smoking hotel would have liked someone to explain the air conditioner remote control, would have liked breakfast to be available until 12, needed more sheets (was a bit cold otherwise)
The hotel is situated in good location, near shopping mall, cinema, macdonald. Internet is free The hotel room does not have tv or refrigerator.
we didnt have hot water in the shower and when we complained it took forever, we waited 2hours to get hot water and even then it wasn't very hot.
Thanks Kareem and Ahmed! They are really very considerate and willing to help us during our stay. We enjoyed the stay very much because of you. Also Sam, the professional tourist guide. We will miss you all! Everything is fine except the entrance looking and elevator.
hotel staff not a good hotel location
Location and staff are excellent. Other than that...this is the hotel from hell!!!!! I have always sweared by Booking.com in all my travels.. This is the 1st time where I have felt completely shafted! First of all, this hotel has not been renovated, as adverstised. Room had no tv, mini fridge or window( very depressing). The toilet was dirty, lid and seat was broken. Everytime we flushed it leaked. The bathroom in total was digusting. We also found hairs(not sure from which origin) on top and inside our bedsheets. I started to doubt if other reviews on this hotel were legit and if we were even really been taken to the correct one. It is really that bad!!!
The staff was friendly and helpful and we didn't have any problems when we wanted to cancel our booking after the first night. The hotel is really more of a small hostel, in a shabby old building on the 3rd floor. The rooms are not very clean or nice at all, my fiancé's room didn't even have windows. On the other hand, you can't expect much more with such low rates, so for a backpacker I think the standard might be acceptable. Even though it's close to Tahrir Square, the Egyptian Museum and everything, I prefer staying in the more affluent areas like Mohandeseen or Dokki (which is where we moved after our first night).
It was wonderful to stay her .The staf are very frindly you feel yourself at home.you will find the 4 star service and pay nothing compering with the market range.
location and room 310 room change - breakfast service and no refrigerator in the room
very basic hotel but it is ok if you planning to stay two or three days in Cairo....close to islamic cairo and to Egyptian museum(20 min on foot)...the people there are very polite...
Friendly staff, great location in the center of Cairo. It was quite cheap too. The room was stuffy (smelly); staff couldn't really answer our questions on e.g. transport.
The hotel located in the city center. It's very close to the shopping area. You can find Mcdonal and KFC just only 5 minutes walk from the Hotel. There are so many shops where you can shop untill night and close to the night bazaar Khan El Khalily just 5 minutes by taxi. We really like the location of the hotel. The hotel was quite new and clean. When we check-in they gave us the room on upper floor. The room was quite huge but we were not satisfied cause there was not air-condition in the room, there was just only a big electric fan. We came back to the reception and asked them for another room. We stayed there for 4 night, the room space was normal. The toilet seat cover was broken and when you flush the toilet it dose not work, you need to turn the valve behide the toilet to flow the water. The water flowed for all the time and noisy, you need to turn the valve back to stop the water flow. There was no shower curtain in bathroom, so the bathroom floor always wet after we took a shower. The breakfast was not very impressive, there were just only boiled eggs and some bread.
Free internet and Wi-Fi was very helpful. Rooms were not ready for check in when we arrived at 4pm and it still had to be cleaned.
Location, free wifi, staff attitude Room condition and cleanliness
