As we were touring, the location was good and convenient for our next stop. The rooms wre comfortable.
We loved the history of the hotel - although it was quite old we thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and staff were very helpful.
In need of refurbishment, hotel looks a little bit tired. Shortage of staff, it appeared one guy was attempting to do everything. He had been onduty from 10.00 and was still working at 01.30 the following morning but still had a cheery greeting for us. The same applied at Breakfast where the chef was seen to clear the tables to assist the one member of the waiting team who was also working hard. Breakfast was excellant with more than enough to eat from the hot buffet.
Good location for the england girls golf. Not aware it was a pub aswell as hotel. Also the shower in room 206 is a health and safety issue this needs to be looked at. Every chance of banging your head on the slopping wall which is tiled very limited space to turn.
Excellent helpful staff. Nice bedrooms and catering more than satisfactory.
We enjoyed our stay at the Lansdowne. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent.
Obtained best room ( 4 poster / jacuzzi) on 1st day but was moved to standard double second day due to oversite double booking by receptionist, however was compensated for inconvenience and room move tv only recieved very basic channels and old poor reception tv
Everything about this hotel was good. Ideal for a night or two. None
Historical atmosphere (eg antique items like old gramophone etc) Residents' bar open til 12 Newspaper available in the morning. Fresh flowers on tables. Good breakfast. Room overheated. Fans from bathrooms of adjacent rooms a bit noisy.
No good points It was a dreadful experience....a grubby, tatty hotel......far too expensive...didnt try restaurant as whole hotel felt dirty
The hotel is new and contemporary and without doubt 5* the facilities are first class as is the spa and during our stay we both had a massage which was relaxing and good value the restaurant was gourmet standard and the whole experience something to be recomended. Nothing and I cannot wait to go back.
The staff was very helpful and attentive to our needs. Excellent service. The food and wine were very good and the restaurant and bar waiters very knowledgeable. Beautiful grounds, spa was wonderful. The hidden costs - the drinks were expensive, e.g. coffee or orange juice at the spa.The jacuzzi was not working. Breakfast is served up to 10 am on Sunday with zero tolerance even when arriving only 2 minutes late.
Great stay in a new hotel, rooms are modern and very clean
The spa was exceptionally good, as was the food, in particular the stone-baked steaks, from the adjoining restaurant. The staff were very friendly, and the room was very nice, and always clean. The prices of the restaurants were quite expensive, and in the spa restaurant the portions were miniscule in comparison to the price paid.
Very clean room Forgot to take our food order for breakfast, had to ask someone to take it. Limited spa facilities
modern clean rooms, nice views over resort, food in resturant exellent, most of the staff were pleasant and welcoming, alot of noise from corridor ,doors slam shut very loud,
The polite and courteous staff who were always willing to assist and provided an excellent service. Nothing.
everything was excellent - cannot find any fault whatsoever, clean, spacious rooms, excellent staff, highly recommended

Very pretty setting, attractive rooms Nothing
The superb service Nothing at all
Easy access to the golf coarse with a quick and convenient shuttle to and from the club house
Beautifully decorated, lovely peaceful atomosphere, well maintained rooms and grounds, soft & comfortable bed with a choice of pillows. It was all good!
hotel staff were all friendly and kind. They were really great. Wonderful hotel, beautiful green, good restaurant. Breakfast was also very nice. We had to change a room, but the they didn't put us to a right room immidiately. We had to wait for like an hour :( With a small child, it was difficult to stay in a maisonette room. Too steap stairs!
A magnificent, stately building, its setting and surrounding countryside. Spaciousness. Hotel interior decor and the room, the Crews Croft, overlooking the magnificent grounds. Attention to detail. The amount of effort on the gardens. Good food, and pleasant dining area, the restaurant and bar staff were particularly attentive. Peacefulness. We have eaten at the Manor on several occasions but this was our first overnight stay. We will definitely return. There was not a single thing we disliked.
Excellent room, spacious, comfortable and a fabulous bathroom. Loved the bears. Nothing
We stayed in one of the cottages and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The cottages, grounds and village were beautiful and a fantastic place for a quiet, romantic retreat for a few days. I highly recommend this accommodation. The bed was one of the best quality that I have slept on - something that is more important to me than most other aspects but this place is just fantastic in all respects
Great find and perfect for an overnight stay in this beautiful part of the world. Lovely room, great food, decent wine list and lively locals! Checking out was rather labourious and we were in a rush to get to a christening.
A fine country pub providing great food and superb accommodation.
Convenient for us to visit Westonbirt Friendly service and facilities fair, food good.
The staff in particular. They were very accomodating and helpful. Due to circumstances, we arrived early and an effort was made to provide food and get the room ready. This applied for the duration of our stay. All in all, it left us with a very good impression of the hotel.
Warm friendly atmosphere, good food, excellent room No
The pub seemed to be a focal point for village life with a lively bar, friendly regulars and a varied menu with good value specials on offer.
A typical Old English country inn with a great atmosphere. The quality of the food was excellant and reasonably priced..
The pub downstairs is popular and serves excellent food with a good range of real ales. The hotel building is old and quirky so don't stay expecting luxury. The village is close to the M4 and well placed for visiting Bath and Bristol. No shaving socket in the bathroom.
Hotel clean and staff very friendly. One of the bedrooms was quite cold, perhaps radiator timing control should be set for longer?
It was a very charming and cosy hotel.
our room was above a wedding reception. We were not told about this when we booked or when we arrived. Because of this our stay was poor
V. pleasant staff and superbly comfortable room. The hotel garden was beautiful and well-tended, and the breakfast was excellent. This was olde-worlde luxury. We would happily have stayed on an extra day! We had come to the hotel in order to visit friends in Stanton St. Q.: however, so far as we know, there is otherwise not much to do in the vicinity. The shower did not work well and the tiled bathroom floor became dangerously slippery when wet. Extra towels were needed.
Relaxed and friendly with excellent food.
Nice surroundings, large size room, good food Background noise from the Motorway traffic. Dirty dinner plate and used glasses left outside a room in the first floor corridor for 24 hours
Breakfast ,have stayed in many five star hotels breakfast here compares favourably, waitress excellent.
The location, the building and the gardens were very good. Our room was extremely comfortable and the food in the restaurant was good. Although the food in the restaurant was good, the staff were somewhat less good. The waitresses would benefit from some training.
hotel staff willing to go out of way to accomodate our needs - opened restaurant hour early so we could eat before going to concert
The room was a nice size and very comfortable with a good TV and freeview channles. The food and wine were good and the service at dinner and breakfast were also good. I personally did not experience her but the lady meeting couples to discuss possible weddings was a bit loud and somewhat brash. From what I overheard (it was impossible not to overhear) she lacked style and subtelty. As a result I would not recommend this hotel as a possible wedding venue.
Visited several Cotswold villages, National trust venues and attended an open air concert N/A
