Location was good. Restaurant on premises and bike rental available. Most important, they did not take VISA credit cards (only Mastercard and American Express!) which left me in a bind for cash at the last moment, on the way to the airport. The "hotel" is actually rooms above a rather noisy bar. The staff were very busy running the bar, although they did take time out to try and help me to find a taxi when I understood too late, that 24 hours advance notice was needed to go to the airport. At 80 euro a night (not including breakfast) I felt that it was a bit overpriced, compared to another hotel I stayed at in the area (Hof Van Holland in Noordwijk).
The staff was very friendly and cooperative. Our reservation was not on their list even though we had a print of the online reservation. They made all efforts to organize things as quickly as possible.
NIce small hotel. Stayed only one night so not much experience
We were upgraded to an executive room - very comfortable. Being a low-rise hotel, our room was at a considerable distance from the foyer/restaurant/ bars. I have never used the car to get to breakfast in a hotel before!
this is our 2nd visit in this year and we r convinced that we want to keep going there again. best value for money. excellent staff, swimming pool, for weekend breaks, kids friendly. simply superb!
ease of access from the main road and breakfast distance from lobby to hotel room no plug on sink in bathroom (room 152)
Good central location for our purpose and good connection with Amsterdam by public transporttation The only thing we objected to was the the odor of stale smoke in the hall ways . They should prohibit smoking in hotels and restaurants . Otherwise , we had no complaints. The meal service was excellent
Good breakfast to mach chlorine into swimming pool
we were well looked after by the staff and the food was good none
Clean and comfortable rooms Lack of help to find the rooms
We liked the helpful staff, Breakfast was good . we enjoyed our stay. The way to the room was confusing
They could handle more than two to a room and price was competitive. No ice machines. I realize this is par for the course in Europe, but this is a more modern hotel than most..
The pool is real size. The internet speed and coverage is very good. Tha staff is friendly. When you make a reservation specify the exact kind of the room double or twin!
Beautiful location: in a small castle park, with views across a small lake. Very quiet, but still within walking distance of Heemskerk town and easy reach by car or public transport from Amsterdam. Big rooms (for the Netherlands). The hotel interior clearly dates back to at least the early 1990s and could do with some renovation. No restaurant in the hotel, and the hotel bar had a rather sad atmosphere.
The room has an exit going out directly to the parking space
souroundings, located in the middle of a forest - quiet at first they gave us a smoking room, and said it is a non smoking room...but they moved us to a much better room with no problems
Attitude of the bar staff (Andre) was deplorable.
Lovely clean room, extremely comfortable bed, great breakfast
Lovely big room, good supply of toiletries No reduced rate for solo traveller, poor lighting on route to hotel so a bit creepy on foot at night
very nice helpful staff. Polite and cheerful.
very good location, clean room, staff was extremely helpful .... and a huge cat in the lobby that sleeps all day and lets people play with it :D nothing, it was perfect
Staff are helpful , friendly and professional, location is lovely
The location is very quiet and beautiful. It is excellent place for rest after the long day in Amsterdam. Enough interesting places in the neighbourhoods. Very comfortable for travellers’ by car. Internet connection in hotel is from last century. Hotel offer Swisscom wireless connection whit speed 128 kbit/s and name of that is “High-speed internet access”. In lobby that is free of charge and real speed is 15-30 kbit/s. In room you need to pay extra for Internet and packages are very useless and connection speed is same as in lobby.
Visit a beach party
the room i had looks like they have decorated since we was there last year paying for the hotel when checking in i found very strange, the food seems very exspensive in the local area when eating in or out and book early as the area always seems very busy.
the fact that the hotel did not cater for very well for people who are blind and if elderley the walk up to the hotel was too steep, they should install some sort of lift up to hotel from the road. the breakfast was really poor and the evening food was very expensive for what it was like.
Great suite, pleasant welcome, good views from room & dining room, easy access to nearby beach and to local shops/restaurants, good selection for breakfast. Limited parking close to hotel, partly because of ongoing building work next to hotel, with overflow into the public car park for the beach, in which we found it difficult to find space during the day. Also building supplies and partially finished external surfaces (esp block paving) means some care is required when walking around exterior of hotel. Some of these areas were inadequately fenced off.
The view of the beach was great. The cleaning staff did not give us towels daily and did not clean the room. They made the beds only.
We have stayed here several times, and enjoy its casual friendliness and magnificent position. Some of the rooms have a magnificent view over the beach
Proximity to beach.Good range of bread at breakfast.Helpfull staff. Ensuite bathroom was in urgent need of modernisation.
Proximity to beach was fantastic! Our room was huge by european standards, with a patio that overlooked the ocean! In room mini-fridge and plates/utensils make it ideal for family stays! The bedding was not the most comfortable - very stiff/scratchy sheets/duvet. However, that won't stop me from returning here as soon as I can!!
Deluxe Room was large and had extra facilities like a kitchenette, kettle and some tea and coffee, sea views. Two large beds with luxurious duvets. The bathroom had a very large bath and seperate large shower section. Furnishings were top of the range for a hotel of this level, room had individual heating controls therefore excellent in the winter months and large LCD TV with multi channels.. Restaurant food was exceptional with good choice and the staff very friendly and spoke excellent English. The restaurant had seperate menus in English too. The hotels position it situated on the Dunes at Wijk Ann Zee with access to an amazing sandy beach. Ideal for a weekend break or a longer stay. We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago and it has improved beyond comparison to previous visit. A car is essential to access the rest of Holland, however Taxi's are available locally and the Train Station ar Beverwijk is 15 mins bus ride away. 45 minutes from Amesterdam (Schipol) airport by car. Nothing
Great location (closed to the beach), nice staff,
location, good rooms and friendly staff
Cancelation policy. Hotel cancelation not possible untill 18 o'clock free of charge as usal. Full hotel price was charged.
Location and the size of the room are excellent they allow dogs in the rooms......
location very poor breakfast , service is done by very young unexperienced staff that is not capable to do a proper a waiter job. breakfast terrace and room look very messy and so does the kitchen. toilettes on the ground floor durty and not properly maintained in the morning. it seems that the managing of this hotel is not doing a proper job .
Near beach It was to expensive
Friendly and efficient staff. Very good location for those wishing to spend time by the Sea Breakfast was good but there wasn't an option for those wishing to just have a coffee, tea or just a bowl of cereal or toast.
the breakfast was good value for money i had a ground floor room and did not feel very secure
Friendly staff and comfortable rooms in a great setting with countryside views within easy reach of Amsterdam as well as seaside resorts such as Zandvoort and Egmond-en-Zee. There were only a couple of English speaking TV channels, but I didn't go there to watch TV, so it wasn't that important.
Friendly personnel. Nice Bar & Restaurant. Ample parking Dinner service slightly slow
Friendly and helpful staff Bedroom carpet required cleaning, possibly stained by coffee/juice otherwise the room was well cleaned every day.
staff were very friendly and helpfull the taxi service we used doubled from the day we arrived which was not the hotels fault
good place for travel by car in this zone
Quiet location, vast parking, large room, free WiFi at the reception and bar, large bed, good rate sometimes, easy to find, excellent restaurant (good value 3-course dinner). WiFi in room with charges, but cheap (€5 for 24h), location noisy at the last stay, due to construction works on the back of the hotel, street on the back noisy in the morning (garbage trucks backuping).
Room confort Breakfast is not very varied, food is provided in very small quantities and is missing rapidly. Some efforts are recommended to improve breakfast quality.
Very good location and friendly staff. Very convenient to have bicycles for rent on premises. Restaurant was quite good for evening meals. Would have appreciated brewed coffee instead of from a machine for Breakfast. Breakfast offerings were depleted by large tour groups on one morning. And too many items prepackaged in plastic. Gave a less personal feeling. Was charged 12.50 euro for a lunch packet which simply had the same items offered for breakfast.
Easy to find, vast parking, large room, large bed, free WiFi at the restaurant & lobby. Poor TV channel offer, Charges on WiFI from the room.
Very convenient for the beaches and town of Alkmaar. Pleasant surroundings The breakfast buffet looked disappointing for the price so we chose not to have it
coffee and tea free of charge eduring the whole day I could not get wifi to work
Staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the fact that there was coffee available anytime and we could sit in the lounge area. No elevator available. The stairs were tricky with the luggage.
Free tea & coffee machine in lounge and dining room hanging space for clothes was limited for the amount of clothes we brought for nine days
Staff are very very nice and helpful. Comfortable self-service mini bar. Room is clean and tidy.
freindly and helpfull
nice garden, room OK unfortunately we had to leave the hotel unexpectedly
Located close enough to the beach/centrum. Realy good with a parking garage at the hotel with a personal key. Clean and with an OK breakfast.
Nice location not far from the beach, own car park, bike rental in house, good service
Nice and friendly people, easy to find, good located at the center of town Personally, I do not like a double room with two single beds, but hey, maybe it's only me ;). The room was a bit small, sounds from the neighbours were quite good to hear (I guess, ours, too...)
friendly, relaxed atmosphere
Quiet; discreet service; the bathroom.
The Garage was an advantage
. Cleanliness was poor since sand from the beach that we accidently took with us was still there the next day. we asked for some extra coffee and only been given 2 small samples, i find that a little poor
Wonderful people, very friendly, clean, good food
hony moon hotel for 2
It is small ,11 rooms, beautiful, every room a different theme or color till in the smallest details, very friendly and helpful staff, amazing diningroom and lovely dutch breakfast,a real gem, I would love to visit again Its' location is close to a huge industrial area -the hoogovens-so you need a car if you want to enjoy the dunes and beach without this industrial background
The location was very good for visiting Amsterdam and the surrounding areas whilst not being within the city itself. The Hydrofoil service to the centre of Amsterdam is very fast and efficient. The Staff were excellent and friendly with and offered a very good service. Just the other side of the steep hill behind the hotel is the vast Corus steel works. which might put some people off the location as it is quite visible from the beach (but not from the Hotel itself). It did not worry us during our stay however and is silent in operation being around a mile distant. Given the close proximity to Amsterdam and it's main canal connection to the sea it is to be expected that the will be some industry nearby and the Town itself is very quite and relaxing
This hotel provides a good quality of service and a sense of fun that makes it a great choice for famillies. The staff were very helpful, the pool was never too busy and the on site restaurant gave excellent value and quality in comparison to the other options. The free sun beds on the local beach are also a big bonus. This beach compared well with the many other lovely beaches on the island. The local towns are worth a visit, full of local charm and plenty of restaurants to chose from.
Nice location for me, nice staff. I would like to come again on summer.
Friendly owner - Barbara! Nop
Mare Sanat is a characterful hotel. Well decorated, clean tidy rooms. nice bathroom, very clean. lovely helpful staff. This is a pretty dutch hotel, just across the dunes from the sea in a picturesque dutch village within fairly easy reach of Amsterdam Central. We would definitely stay again. Many Thanks
Owners very helpful. We are both smokers and they changed our room to one with a balcony which was very helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast is a buffet which was regularly replenished and as much tea and coffee as you wanted. Lounge was also very comfortable with a small bar. Hotel is near the beach and also the the Cafe de Zon which was where we were heading for the night. Some areas could do with a good clean eg balcony and net curtains in the dining room but it was March and maybe this was done after the winter weather was well past and in preparation for summer trade. Breakfast is only served between 9.30 and 10 which might be a problem for some and there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room.
Very nice view over the North Sea They were rebuilding during our stay which made a bit of noise.
The very friendly staff and facilities.
I was close to the conference venue. The room was small, but comfortable. The hotel does not have a specific reception area, which make it uncomfortable to do the administration.
The room we were in was clean, it looked out to the sea and the lighthouse, the center of the village was just around the corner. The hotel is okay, the staff is friendly, you have free parking in the streets of Egmond - they give you a parking ticket. A year ago I stayed at Hotel de Vassy which provided more services and extras compared to Fletcher - at around the same price. I cannot say that I "did not like" this non-existing extra at Fletcher, it was just hotel policy not to provide it (bicycle and duinkaart for example, or warm drinks like tea and coffee around the clock) and it compared regarding this point not favourably to the experience made in the other hotel.
no shower only bath in the room, double-bed as a family room, no childeren infrastructure
Nice breakfast, friendly and helpfull staff, very clean rooms No, everything was fine
Very good housekeeping, the hotel is freshly decorated. The proximity of the beach and restaurants is excellent. Our room was extremely small, there was really no space to stretch. No sitting area in the room. Very small closet, impossibly small bathroom. The room we had is looking at the rooftop of the fish restaurant, with constant, very strong smell of fish. After couple of days, even the bigest fish lovers would vow never to taste any fish again. Hotel is not recommended for people with size larger than "medium".
The Hotels location was very good. Only two minute walk from the beach and the centre on the town. Booked a double room, got a twin! Spoilt a good stay.
Modern, clean accommodation, comfortable bed, excellent location, very good breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Minor point only but would like tea/coffee making in room.
We found the Hotel excellent value and the Management & staff were always very helpful and pleasant to deal with
We felt like it was a home from home. We were very happy with our stay at this hotel and are happy to recommend it.
Silent location poor landscape - steel industry too close
The hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere, great location close to the beach and local cafes and bars. Breakfast buffet was delicious. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Not keen on the pre-made tea flask at breakfast. Would maybe be better to provide hot water and tea bags so guests can make their own strength tea to their own tastes. This is a minor thing though and not a complaint at all.
Quiet place close to the sea. Free wifi, parking. Tea/cofee devices in lobby, Not so clean, dirty shower curtain, hairs in bedding, carpets need cleaning. Breakfast food quality very poor. Hard to find anyone in reception. Generaly hotel needs renovation.
The manager was excellent, very friendly and helpful. I will absolutely stay there again as I travel to Holland a lot. Nothing, it exceed my expectations
Breakfast, near to the beach Only 6 m² for a couple ! event with loud music !
It's enough quiet & romantic place to stay. The location is very good, nearly to the ocean. There is no problem to get to the Hotel any time of night. The breakfast & service personnel are good I didn't like the isolation between the rooms
Safe parking area, nice location nearby North sea coast. Break fast was so so.
