The elevator did make a very concerning noise.

Cons: The entrance to the hotel off main road and the breakfast and eating area. The breakfast area was way to small for that size hotel.
Pros: The location
Cons: I did not like the elevator cause it was extremely small to me the bed was hard but other than that everything was nice
Pros: The room was VERY clean-- which was important to me because I was traveling with my young children. It was also in a safe location.
Cons: The lobby smelled of cigarette smoke-- which made me worried about the room - but once we got on the elevator - things were fine. The lobby/breakfast area is small and doesn't feel very clean - especially compared to other comfort inns. Just FYI
Pros: The beds were comfortable, the pillow selection was great (they give you both soft and firm pillows!) and the staff was terrific.
Cons: The lighting in the bathroom is awfully low, please up the wattage in there.
Cons: breakfast was not appetizing
Pros: Great location. Very near shopping and restaurants.
Cons: Indoor pool closed early
My mini refrigerator was not working in the first room so they switched me to another room. All of the mattresses were new but it turns out they decided to leave the manufacturers plastic wrap on all of them so you had this plastic wrapped mattress to sleep on. Guess it cuts down on them having to buy some type of mattress cover.
Pros: The coffee was good.
Cons: Lobby smelled like an ash tray when I walked in. Clerk at front desk said it was a 'no smoking' hotel but obviously it had not always been this way. Smelled like an old ash tray in the lobby. Rooms did not smell like smoke.
Overall, it wasn't an absolutely awful hotel. I would recommend only staying a max 2 nights and that's if you have to. We had to attend a conference in College Station and I picked this hotel specifically because it said pets stay FREE. They don't. It's a ridiculous $20/night. That's why I chose a hotel farther because College Station didn't have a lot of pet friendly hotels. If they did it was expensive. The rooms aren't even that clean to charge you that much for an animal. I read reviews prior to this trip so I was expecting the worse. I didn't smell anything terrible walking into the lobby but when we got to the room it was bad. I think the hotel is old and cheap so they never keep ac running in the rooms so it smells extremely musty. Now...for the smell I believe previous reviewers were talking about. The smell that's so awful it smacks you in the face? Yep we definitely smelt it. It seems as if all the pipes might be in the walls, like condos. So that means sewage smell. Yuck. Plus if the ac isn't running constantly at an arctic level of cold, you are going to smell the must. The bathtub was so gross when I HAD to take a shower I didn't even want my feet flat on the ground, it felt like scum. This hotel is perfect for business guys working in the field that just need a place to crash and have a free somewhat ok breakfast. Free cable, Internet is wired so bring your laptop. Staff wasn't friendly she had an attitude about my animal and rolled her eyes. It took them 4 hours to clean a floor of rooms so they were constantly out in the hallway. They did get new couches..they delivered them at 7pm. Loud. I do believe the price is ridiculous and you could go to La Quinta or Holiday Inn and feel like you can at least take your shoes off. Overall, two nights max. Perfect for hard working guys just wanting a nights sleep. Let's hope those new couches are a good sign.
Pros: Close to food but be careful if you get there late. ..Everything in Brenham closes at 11pm. Your choices will be Denny's or Jack n the Box.
Cons: We got to the hotel late but I did not think the staff was friendly. They say pets stay for free all over their own site but it's not true.
good hotel for the price. Nice area.
Pros: room was a nice size. nice big TV too.
Cons: Not really... The front desk people werent very friendly and the breakfast area was cramped... but I dont think those are a very big deal personally. I would stay there again.
There was a carrot stick under a cabinet that was left from a previous guest and not picked up by housekeeping. We had to go to the front desk to get clean wash cloths because one of ours had blood stains which made me look at every one we used. The children did not want to get in the pool because the water was green and had dirt in the bottom. The temperature of the hot tub was the same as the pool water. We will not stay here on our next trip to Brenham!!
Pros: The staff was friendly.
Cons: Our room was not clean!
There was mold around the tub
Pros: Hotel staff was friendly
Cons: The fire alarm went off at 4:30am, we had to stand outside for almost an hour in our night clothes.

Pros: This is not the holiday inn express. It's the palace inn, which used to be the old holiday inn. We booked thinking we were going to stay at the holiday inn and we were turned away because kayak hadn't updated the hotel information.
Cons: the palace inn worked fine but was not what we thought we were paying for.

Cons: Breakfast was lacking to say the least. I went down about 9:30. They were out of juice, out of fruit, and waffles were just OK.

Pros: I'm not a picky guy, my wife is a bit. This place reeked in the lobby and halls. When I arrived a staff member was sprinkling Ajax and spraying with a water house on the front entrance. He couldn't be bothered to stop, so I had to walk through and around him. With all of my luggage and clothes. Inside we were met with an apathetic look and a greater concern of writing down our vehicle information, than any interest in our hospitality. The lobby and hall smelled musty and slightly fishy. Upon entering our hot, stinky room I managed to get the ac running. I was super stoked to find a few DIFFERENT types of mold in the shower. I was pressed for time so a room change was out of the question. Upon return to the room the ac did catch up. Barely. That night I found the bed to sag and the pillows to be wore out.
If this were the review of a nagging whiner I wouldn't be concerned. I have never complained. I probably wouldn't have. But you sent the email and you asked. This was my worst ever motel stay. I get it, super 8 isn't the Hyatt. But damn
Cons: See above
Pros: Staff was super friendly and accommodated our request without hesitation!
Cons: We like eggs and bacon for breakfast all they had was cereal...

Pros: Very nice room for the price. Obviously an older property, but nicely rehabbed and well maintained. Their free breakfast had a limited selection - cereal, toast, waffles, juice, milk - but was still a nice way to start the day. Very friendly staff too!
Pros: Green pool unswimmable, no frig or microwave, mold on shower curtain. Uncleaned tile, filthy room, daylight shines all around door when shut . Smells bad very gross. Outlet covers away from wall. Scum in and on tub and bathroom tiles . TV bluefish color .

For the price it was okay.
Pros: The lady when we checked in was very nice. She went to a little trouble moving our current room to a quieter part of the hotel.
Cons: The bed was hard as a rock. It felt like we were sleeping on a box spring. I even checked to make sure we weren't.
Pros: They were very friendly.
Cons: I booked a smoking room and got a non smoking. However I survived.
Very disappointed especially for the price.
Cons: Very outdated and everything poor quality (towels, bedding & pillows, even soap & shampoo samples)
Cons: Had to ask staff to clean commode, and to get light over desk to operate. No chair at desk. One brought the next day after requesting. Ice machine old, rusting, and not operating to full capacity.
The staff was nice. The location was good. The room was disgusting. I will not stay there again.
Pros: It had a refrigerator and a coffee maker.
Cons: The carpet was stained, the bedspread was stained. Cigarette burn holes in the blanket. Nasty tub and sink.
