I had selected and booked a car based on its size and trunk storage (Skoda Otavia) and was quoted a price of $1088. Just before traveling I called to confirm my reservation and was told that the price was now $1239 because the first quoted price didn't include tax and surcharges. But when I arrived to pick up the car, it wasn't available. I was then told that the car that they had for me wouldn't be suitable or 4 adults with just carry on luggage (note no big luggage) but they could rent me a car that was better suited to our needs, but now the price changed to $2364 so the price had more than doubled from the original quote. As it turned out the Volvo that we ended up renting looked good and drove well but was too low to the ground and too hard to get in and out of for 4 adults in their 70's. And it was a bit rough on the poor roads of the northern part of the country, I assume it was because low profile tires.Reviewed May 16 2025

The CDW and theft insurance taken was not known to the Budget staff and it became point of contention taking away a lot of time.Reviewed Aug 8 2024

Kiosk style mobile pickup in an underground garage where there is no phone reception. The credit card reader wasn’t working and they wanted to drive me to another location to pay. It took 40 minutes, even though I was the only customer and they decided at the end to use their own network to call in my payments and details to the other station. On return at 515 pm there was no one there and no sign of any kind, such as explaining where the key drop was. The Budget phone lines close at 4pm (one) and 5 pm (the other). Very annoying.Reviewed Jul 5 2024

The car was to come with a GPS but it wasn’t installed. They don’t provide portable GPS units. Fortunately we have a cell phone with us and the charge cord fits. They were very helpful in explaining the car’s features and the car manual was supplied.Reviewed Sep 16 2022
